I didn't know what to expect arriving to cox's after being greeted at the door by a stern woman asking us for our covid certs but after that cold interaction I couldn't of been more happier. The waiting staff were incredibly kind and efficient. The restaurant was comfortable and clean. The food was very nice. Fresh ingredients and effort put in to the cooking. Very well presented. Reasonably priced for the quality. Overall I will definitely be back. Thanks so much.

We had very quick and friendly service from the bar man. We drank outside at tables with umbrellas. There was quite a lot of out door seating, under shelter - pagoda/umbrellas to keep off the rain. We also chatted to a young Spanish girl from Valencia, staying nearby. She petted my sister's dog and we talked about her stay in Ireland.

My husband and I visited with our two kids. They were friendly, the food was delicious and they were very considerate and attentive as our 2 year old son cannot eat dairy. They made up a dish of pasta with tomato sauce and sausages for him and after he had a bowl of jelly. They also brought out colouring books for him. They are child friendly which made it a very enjoyable and relaxed experience. We had the steak sandwich and desserts were amazing. We totally recommend 😊👌

We ate here for lunch earlier this week on our way down the Shannon and the food was delicious and very well priced. My husband got the cod and I had the roast beef. Came back on our way home tonight for dinner and despite having booked a table, we were sent to sit in the back where a funeral gathering had been. They were finishing up but we definitely felt like we were imposing. Then came the dinner. Both of us ordered the chicken burger and it was below par, especially for the price. The staff were lovely both times but it was like a completely different restaurant tonight for dinner. Hard to believe it's the same place as the food was just so disappointing. Would go back for lunch but never for dinner.

This is the best steakhouse I have ever been to. We spent two evenings there the first evening I had sirloin and the second evening I had a fillit steak they were the best And the service was excellent to say the least and all that washed down with a good pint of Guinness Two grand nights out

Visited on a family member's recommendation. From the outside Cox's looks like any village pub in Ireland. Inside is a pleasant pub with sports on the TV and warm and welcoming staff. Go for the steak. This turns Cox's from any other place to something really special. Close to perfection, and a genuinely enjoyable meal.

A popular Irish country pub/ restaurant. Be prepared to wait for a dining table while you order a drink at the bar. Ample free parking. Warm friendly atmosphere and service. We ordered duck spring rolls and deep fried brie starters. Basic but nice. For the mains we had sirloin steak washed down with a Shiraz. Mine was tough and grisly, which was a huge let down for a restaurant locally famed as a 'steak house'. We finished off the evening with traditional Irish apple pie and icecream, followed by Irish coffee. I wouldn't come back for a steak but the starters, puddings and drinks were nice. The whole evening set the two of us back almost €100, which was expensive for what we experienced.

Had the most amazing meal thanks to the lovely staff at Cox's Steakhouse. They really went above and beyond with the service tonight and made my husbands birthday extra special! Being escorted to our own little table that was done with with a lovely little rose and flower, to the outstanding meal and to top it off special birthday wishes on the desert for Brian. Your brilliant staff and amazing food really helped make my husbands birthday extra special! I really can't thank you's enough! I would highly recommend your steakhouse to anyone and everyone! 😊

As we come in Ireland 3 or 4 times a year, we like to come to the Cox in Dromod, but our last visit in April was not as good as the last times. That's why 3 stars. When we arrived around 12am , we have to wait a long time for ordering our food. We did not get the orange drink as usual. When the plates arrived we were disappointed, it was not good. We will try again in September and if it is the same we will give you less than 3 stars. See you in September

My last visit to Cox's steakhouse was very disappointing. We were seated below the TV and as a result we were completely "invisible" to serving staff and could not get the attention or get served. Very disappointing. We ended up leaving after a long and frustrating wait. It was very busy and therefore likely that there wasn't enough staff on duty.

Spent Hogmanay here celebrating our cousin's 60th birthday, ten of us came from Scotland. We had a table of 24 and had an absolutely delicious 3 course meal. The service was top class with every member of the waiting/bar staff being so friendly and helpful to us all. We then partied into the morning celebrating the New Year. We all had the best time. I would definately recommend giving the food a try and enjoying a night in Cox's. We will hopefully return again soon. Thank you all for our great night of celebrations.

This is a great steakhouse in the village of Dromod, just up on the main street, a short walk from the marina area on the majestic river Shannon. It has plenty of car parking (if you are not coming by boat) and the menue is far more extensive than just steaks or burgers, catering for a wider clientele than the steak brigade.
