We went here for an anniversary meal when we visited castlebar back in September 2021 food was just pure class from the starters to the mains and desert,my wife got the sirloin which was very good but the fillet steak was just amazing👌👌 the bar itself is very nice and the staff were very friendly would definitely recommend Cox's bar will definitely be back

Prebooked indoor dining one week in advance.... Checked again on morning of the booking date.... When we got there as a family we were put outside and could smell smoke coming from smoking area behind a makeshift curtain.... Very average experience

Had a great meal and drinks last night. Everything was very good and most had steaks which were fantastic. Drinks service to our table was faultless. Its a pitty with whats going on we couldnt stay later as we got very comfortable

Had dinner here Fri and Sat with my wife.Had double brushetta to start which was delicious and fish and chips and mushy peas for mains.One of the best fish and chips I've eaten.Second night had sirlion steak with pepper sauce which was also delicious.A lovely irish pub selling good hearty food with extremely friendly staff.If looking for somewhere to eat in Castlebar this place comes highly recommended.

You must stop off here for lunch/dinner when in Castlebar . Great menu , large portions and staff really nice and helpful , I would highly recommend Cox's Bar & Restaurant , I'm only sorry I didn't get both girls names that looked after us , as they deserve a special thanks for being great at there jobs , Thank you so much 😊

This is a great bar and restaurant. Always call in here for a steak dinner after a days fishing. The meat is delicious and always cooked to perfection. The staff are professional and seemed to enjoy there work.

Staff were quite nice, lovely cosy decore in the building. Food while it was nice didn't entice me to return. Sauces were creamy and poured over the chicken, maybe serve as side sauce and let the consumer decide. The fajitas tasted very like sweet and sour chicken in a wrap but still tasted ok.

Food was ok. We went to coxs after checking bar menu online was was disappointed from the word go. We where handed the menu which had the early bird in it. Which online stated 15 euro for 2 course and had about 7 options for starters, but when we looked at the menu in the pub it was 20 euro and only 4 options for starts. Food taste I'd give a 6.
