B. O.My partner & I ate here while 'staycationing' in west Cork. We were accommodated without a booking on a very busy night, which was great. Food was amazing. unfortunately before ordering food, our waiter dropped a glass of wine from his tray on me & the table resulting in my pants/shirt getting soaked & a fairly serious cut on my hand which bled considerably - the waiter was obviously new & doing his best - he was visibly shook by the result, so I told him everything was fine & to relax, no real harm. I've been there as a young fella. I was given toilet paper for the blood & had to ask on 3 separate occasions for a bandage of some kind as the bleeding persisted without compression. The lady in charge on the night eventually came out after our starter & seemed to be annoyed at the inconvenience of having to fetch a bandage & was in no way apologetic for my stained clothes (wine & blood) or the damage to my hand. Reluctantly left a single small bandage & marched off with very little said.
If a less forgiving patron was in my shoes, the staff could have had a difficult evening on their hands or one less bill paid at the end of the night. Wasn't impressed with the handling of my situation. Completely forgivable accident - but required an appropriate acknowledgement. Not a dismissive glazing over.
Again, worth stressing - food was excellent & our waiter was a real gentleman.
S. G.We had Dinner today and we really can not understand the other votes. I had the Sirloin Steak and it was medium cooked as ordered. 2 Pizzas where freshly made and the Burger was also very good. Dishes, Glases, everything very clean and Service was quick and friendly, we will come back.
K. T.Best fish and chips in Glengarrif. Really fresh and cooked perfectly. Very friendly service. Social distancing left a bit to be desired - hope everyone was vaccinated. Highly recommend Jack's Bar for food and service.
