One of the top restaurants in Cork and food was excellent

Went here with 4 people, and everyone loved it! We did a number of the small plates and each of them was delicious. The croquettes and pork belly is to die for!! They have a great cocktail and wine menu, to suit everyone's taste and budget. We ended our night with a cheese platter and deserts to share and we just about managed to roll home! (Due to the scrumptious food, not the cocktails and wine :) ) i can highly recommend Jacques, or as my irish friends call it...Jacks :)

Excellent!! My wife and I went to Jacques today for brunch. We started with sausage rolls served with apple relish. Hands down the best sausage rolls either of us have ever tasted. For the main course I had the potato rosti with salad and my wife had the fish and chips. Both meals were top class. The service was excellent. Sorry I can't give more than 5 stars!

This was a chance find one evening when searching for somewhere to eat in Cork City. Located in one of the side street s off the main high street, we took a chance and went in for something to eat. We were absolutely delighted that we did, mainly because the quality of the food was outstanding, and very reasonably priced. I have to be honest, and say that looking from the outside, we we did not expect such high quality food and service. The menu had great options, and there was a fantastic craft beer selection, that complimented the food on offer. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars, is that our table location felt as though it was an attempt to fill every space available, and we had originally planned on having tapas, but this wasn't offered to us, despite being signposted outside. However, these do not at all take away from the quality of food and service. As always, the purpose of a review is to ultimately help you decide whether a place is worth visiting, and in this case, you certainly should.

Had a fantastic experience last Saturday evening with my wife, 9yr old daughter and Inlaws. Booked last minute and no problem for the guys. We had a lovely table waiting for us. The food was amazing, everyone had something different but the highlight for me was the Mussels. Muscadet with starters, St. Emillion with mains and a bottle of Crement to finish. Nothing was a chore for these guys despite it being a busy Saturday night. Our young daughter loves restaurants and was amazed at how good the Goujons were! Fully recommended and will be back again soon! Thank you Jacques!!

This is a popular spot in Cork that has been around for a long time. We had lunch in the portion on Oliver Plunkett St. It was busy and seating was a bit tight. Service was friendly and efficient. We had the fish and chips which were tasty. The fish had a light batter which wasn't greasy. The pea purée had mixed reactions - some thought it a bit dry. Prices were reasonable.

Food was delicious, I had a lovely vegan option of roast pumpkin stuffed with rice, spiced vegetables and roasted nuts. My only complaint was the noise level which made communication with the waiting staff a little difficult!

Went to jacques for the first time having lived in Cork for 20 yrs 10 of us went to celebrate a friends 60th birthday.. Lovely setting and decor... Apart from the floor which is a bit treacherous in high heels I had an amazing beetroot and blue cheese salad to start... It's tasted superb.. And I'm not a big fan of blue cheese!!! Cod for main which was cooked to perfection which the freshest baby stem brocoli and sautéed pototoes which were so crispy.. Finished off with a really tasty lemongrass cream brule.. Just the right lightness to finish. We had the house white which was very reasonable.. Staff were very attentive and friendly.. And thru brought out a lovely little 60th birthday surprise choc torte. All in all I will Def be back..

Had to update my review. Went here late last year and had a very mediocre experience. While the staff tried their best, this place has lost something of what made it special. Food was fine though not amazing. And because they’ve expanded, the staff seem a lot busier and the attentiveness of my previous visit was lost. We ordered a side of chips that didn’t come till well after the mains had arrived. So it’s no longer that place to go for something special. ——/ Not the cheapest restaurant but not the most expensive either. But the food is incredible. One of the best restaurants I've eaten in. Great taste, local ingredients, very attentive service (but not obtrusive). Great attention to detail. Worth a visit if you want something special.
