P. S.This was my first visit to Kirby's Korner and it certainly lived up to everything that I had heard about it. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The Covid-19 Requirements were well adhered to, but in a very nice friendly way. The food...what a superb lunch menu and the food itself was amazing. I had the Fish Pie....beautifully cooked fish in a lovely fennel sauce. This was excellently presented with a fresh salad and piping hot chips.
Well done....I will certainly be visiting Kirby's Korner very soon again!

P.I have been fortunate to have visited many restaurants local and cross country and without a doubt, this restaurant has topped my list. Ok, I first went to Kirby's Korner back in 2006 and had my first Steak Sandwich with black pepper sauce and ever since it has been my favourite meal of all.
I wasn't a big fan of green leafy vegetables or salads until I had my first salad at Kirby's and to date, I haven't experienced any other restaurants that match up with KK salads.
Their chef gets it right all the time, the staff are just a pleasant bunch of people and not to mention Dianna (owner/boss). Oh man, she has one hell of a pleasant and courteous personality, a warm welcoming and beautiful smile. While this is my honest opinion I hope when you do go visiting KK you will have a similar or even better experience.

Both Sunday roasts were nice , plenty of potatoes with very tasty vegetables which were perfectly cooked, roast beef was very tender but little taste from the meat. No roast potatoes !! A must for a perfect Sunday roast. Pavlova was to die for, light and fluffy with fresh fruit, top marks . Coffee is not great which was a shame. Staff were fantastic very friendly , very quick service.

Maybe it was a bad day in the kitchen, and while I can understand to some extent that it can happen, that still does not make it right. I do hope that they get back to the good food that I have always enjoyed but right now am very very slow to do so in a hurry.

p.I had heard great reviews about the food, I was happy with the service and the meal itself was nice, but the person I was with had ordered the gougans and they we're overdone and greasy, also very disappointed that they serve frozen chips as I had expected handcut ones as it's a country pub. I have been back to kirbys since my last review for an evening meal with friend's, it was a completely different experience, the food was absolutely delicious . From my experience I would recommend booking an evening meal as opposed to lunch. I felt the atmosphere and the quality of food were like having a meal at 2 completely different locations with the lunchtime and evening sittings. So for evening meals it's 5 star's from me.

The bar is very cosy and stereotypically Irish, which only means one thing, welcoming.

Two staff members were just plain rude & ignorant, 1 who was over seeing the tables & a waitress who obviously didn't want to be there on the night. While I waited to pay she rudely spoke to another customer who was also trying to pay & the lady turned to me & said "she's not having a good night".
