Food is average at best.
We ordered the whole fish, seafood orzo, and the honey marinated Mediterranean chicken.
Food wasn’t bad but for the price, it wasn’t anything to write home about.
The vegan chocolate mousse was not to our taste but we ordered it as there wasn’t much more of a choice in dessert.
Excellent ambiance and service all around!

Nice place but probably my least favourite of all the "lane" restaurants in Cork. Staff were great and it looks well, the food was good at the time and certainly filling. Ultimately it's all a bit forgettable and a tiny bit pricey. When you compare it to what you'd get at the more focused Elbow Lane, Goldie and Market Lane it's hard not to be disappointed
D. B.
Nice Mediterranean style place. There is outdoor seating at the.moment with covid. The menu range from some hot food options like Korma and Koftas to salads and baguettes.
G. W.
Food was excellent.
although asked tea in pot, but the tea was served in cup. Have asked to get add more water. While charged 4 cups of tea at the end.

10/10 food, honestly unbelievable like 😫😫 and the service was outstanding. Love this place. Great service for the times we're in too. (I got the beignets with orange caramel sauce - such a delight and so unique as well!) The treats here are delicious, unbelievable, but the savouries are just as good, if not better. Can't sing their praises enough

The overall experience was good. The staff were friendly and helpful.
I ordered the chicken T'faya but it was greasy dripping oil that I couldn't finish it.
The slow cooked lamb was perfect.
For dessert Orange blossom Mhalabia was really good with right amount of sweetness and light, but the Chocolate Mousse was so sweet for our taste.
P. G.
Had a lovely meal here.
Really great customer service.
My girlfriend had the chicken while I had the lamb. Both dishes were large and full of flavor. We washed that down with a dry alberino. Herself had an espresso martini for dessert while I had an amazing mango and pistachio cheesecake
E.
Absolutely fantastic experience! Amazing food, very nice and helpful staff, very attentive. All dishes were very tasty and the presentation was great. We were blown away by the service and the food!
S. M.
Food is very very good. Very reasonable, staff are lovely and portions are very generous. I will be finishing off my lunch for dinner later.
D. B.
Great food and good value for lunchtime treat. Restaurant is small but even with a queue on a very busy we were seated within 10 mins. Very enjoyable.
K. H.
A must visit restaurant when in Cork. Their Mediterranean inspired menu is a delight and the staff are friendly and extremely accomplished.

The flat bread with the chicken schwarzwald is a must. I lived in London for 20 years and my addiction there was a chicken donner kebab in freshly cooked Nan bread in a stone oven in Kebbabish on Green Street, East London. The chicken there was so aromatic . I have been back in ireland 13 years and have craved a Kebbabish on so many occasions..today I have found those flavours, so fresh and you can tell the spices have been freshly ground.
You have to try it.

The monkfish main was very good and some delicious starters. Dessert was very disappointing; an unset panacotta and unconventionally dense mousse that was too sweet.
J. C.
If you want a delicious treat in the morning to tantalise those salivating tastebuds- Look no further than the manoushi breakfast.
B. D.
Very nice spicy food, in a clean and well decorated place with nice waiter and waitress !
Prices are low and food is great, ideal for a lunch break.

Absolutely fantastic food, and the service was amazing. A really incredible experience all round.
M. L.

H. G.
Delicious lunch time food for all 4 of us. Lovely, attentive service

They don’t take any reservations. It’s always busy when I visit here for dinner but worth waiting. Beautiful food, excellent services, nice atmosphere.

M. F.
Friendly staff, excellent selection on menu, flatbreads to die for. Nom nom nom😋😋😋

First time here, but I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Cork. Everything looks great. Went for the Manoushi, which was delicious. Will have to try a salad the next time. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Every single part of my experience at Orso was positive. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional and accommodating. There was a 40 minute wait for a table, which I had no issue with at all. The friendly host took my number down and said he would call me when the table was ready; which he did exactly 40 minutes later.
We were seated and instantly were given menus and table water - this is a big thing I notice when out dining.
We were given the specials of the day which the waitress was able to recount quickly and in depth; showing she really knew what she was talking about. Once we ordered, our drinks were handed to us within only a few minutes and the food we ordered came out within 20 minutes. For a busy restaurant, that was exemplary!
The food was moist, tender and full of flavour. We then had a chocolate board to share for our dessert. My god, was it tasty.
The food was well priced at an average of €8 for a starter, €19 for a main and €8-€10 for a dessert. Cocktails were only €10!
I can not recommend Orso enough. 10/10 for food, staff and price. I’ll definitely be back.

Orso Kitchen & Bar is lovely bohemian style cafe / restaurant. They have a lovely selection of food and drink options to choose from. They use a lot of local ingredients and produce.
The staff and owners are very friendly and helpful.
It is wheelchair accessible. There is wheelchair accessible seating.
They have taken measures to ensure your health and safety for C19.

Really nice place that is a sister restaurant of the Market Lane serving European style food.
c. O.
Gorgeous food & fantastic staff. The chocolate board for dessert was just to die for !! An absolute gem can't wait to go back !!
A. B. W.
Fantastic menu and staff.
A. B.
Small menu but delicious flatbread!
K. G.
Nice food! Vegetarian friendly! Get the halloumi + the sweet potatoes!
R. E.
Absolutely fab. Really good coffee and tea. We both had the turkey sandwich and it was lovely. And the portions are very generous, I have a big appetite. Also try the malteser and popcorn treat. So so good.
R. M.
Dinner was delicious on Friday night with a friend, nice espresso martinis too! But the service was fantastic, Aisling was incredible and looked after us so well. After being away from Ireland for a few years always nice to come home to such genuwine warm hospitality!! Promote her!!
D. O.
A tad dissapointed with the food. Prawns were a little too greasy, crumble dessert sickeningly sweet. Staff were lovely though and service prompt/attentive.
E. H.
A friend has moved to Cork for 4 months from California. I was trying to decide where to go as I wanted great food with an atmosphere. Orso was the choice and did not disappoint. Amazing food, cocktails and vino. Staff could not have more friendly and helpful giving a great impression of Cork 😊
V. M.
Banging! Everything about it was excellent! The service was swift, polite and the clearing happened so effortlessly to not interrupt the dinner flow! The staff were great at explaining the menu and we chose to have the lamb dish which was delicious. I loved the intimate space (also extra props for the playlist, great taste there). The drinks were yummy and all round it was a splendid place to celebrate. I was just visiting Cork but when I return I'll definitely be seeing Orso again!
N. V.
We are visiting for a few days and another restaurant was full and they recommended orso. We are so glad they did. Two teens and a 9 year old as well as us parents are very happy after eating here! The food was cooked well, and had lovely flavors. We had their specials and fish of the day too. Everything was delicious. The staff was very friendly and worked hard to get us everything we asked for. Highly recommend it if in Cork!
M. L.
Really tasty and interesting starters and mains. Lots of gluten free options. Great service. Orso don't take reservations but if you drop in about 30 minutes before you want to eat they will call you once a table becomes available.
E. H.
Went back three years later and it was night and day. Food was not even close to the same caliber. All the meals were simply not well cooked. I'm hoping it was an off night. Had the fish, kebab, and lamb shank. None were cooked well, ex. Lamb was way overdone. Bit disappointed as we were looking forward to this meal for the years.
Service was top notch both times!
First review: Top notch food and service. Gets busy so come early. Not cheap but well worth it .
F. R.
Excellent food at a great price. The coffee is great too.
J. D.
What a find! We stumbled on this place, almost by accident. Delicious food with a hint of Middle Eastern flavor. Great wines ( just try to get them to cool the reds a little, 'room temp' there can be a little spicy ;) Staff amazing, they must love their job!
S. D.
Absolutely delicious, I looked in the window and it was like looking into a Parisienne baguette shop. The atmosphere was electric, food tasty, desert yum and staff very indulgent of the clientele. Highly recommend.
D. L.
Went here for the first time only recently but will definitely go back soon again. Really great lunch menu and dessert was incredible. Will try their dinner menu in the future as well.
Arrive early to be sure to get a table.
J.
The tastiest food we ate in Cork city. Amazing staff and lovely wine too! Visited on 4/2/2020 at around 7.30 - thank you to the lovely waitress serving us!
J.
The venue itself is quite small, but with a lot of character. They always have a very pleasant atmosphere with chilled out music and lovely lighting. The food is phenomenal, which is why we have been going regularly for the last year!
The only con that I could think of is that it can sometimes be hard to find a table past 6, since it is quite a small place, but if you do get a seat you will certainly not regret the wait.
M. M.
I CANNOT recommend this place highly enough. It’s a hidden gem in Cork and a firm favourite of mine. The staff and customer service ethos in there is beyond compare. Food is great. Well done.
S. C.
Very varied food options with a heavy Moroccan and Persian influence. Great for lunch, dinner or coffee breaks with some lovely cakes and healthy alternatives. Coffee is the best in town and their chorizo salad is a highlight for lunch. Avg price of €10 for lunch and €20 for dinner though there are cheaper options. Seating is very limited and booking ahead is advised.
P. B.
Food is great but it took 20 minutes to be served 2 sandwiches. I wouldn't recommend it if you have a short lunch or are in a rush.
Restaurant only holds 22; you might be hard pressed getting a seat. Order out instead.
L. D.
Delicious, reasonably priced Mediterranean food. Excellent service. No bookings so arrive early to leave your number and have a drink while you wait in Arthur Mayne's down the street.
H. S. C.
We only stopped for a cup of tea and some dessert. Compact small menu but that gives the opportunity to deliver few things but at quality service, taste and price. Staff were really friendly. We found this place by accident and we will really go back.
P. R.
Lovely food and atmosphere
E. J.
Delicious food and great service! Our waitress was so nice, helpful, and friendly. The atmosphere is very intimate and cozy!
N. M.
This place is a hidden gem we were staying right next door for a 2 night hen party and needed soakage before the first night. We ordered a plethora their starters to share tapas style the staff were so helpful and friendly when I arrived late they even made sure I had a spot at the already full table on a busy Friday night. They threw in a complimentary tequila for the bride to be too to get the party started. Will definitely visit again as the food was some of the tastiest I've had in a long time and it was lovely to eat somewhere different in Cork - great job to all here 😍😍
T. A.
I had dinner in ORSO. Three starters, main courses , two desserts and three coffees came to €105. Not cheap, but the food is good. The ambience is relaxed and informal. The room was wuiet at 7.30 pm and was full by The time we left at 9pm.
The sea bass special was really good as was the monkfish stew. I thought the beef pie a little dry and, in truth, not worth the €20 price on the menu.
E. F.
Favourite restaurant in Cork. Stunning food, the spices & flavouring are always amazing. Really helpful & knowledgeable staff who accommodate dietary preferences without any issue. Cannot say enough good things! 😋😍
D. K.
OMG FANTASTIC SERVICE,FOOD AMAZING,LOOKING FORWARD TO GOING FOR ANOTHER CHICKEN SWARMA 😍
D. F.
Very nice service, they pay attention to details and the owner is passionate of his job. Food is very tasty, simple and fresh ingredients. Portions are correct, not to big but neither small. Place too small and it is difficult to find a spot.
E. F.
Wow! Unbelievably good food (& drink). One of the highlights of our trip to Cork! Fennel & black sesame pork was delicious, as was the slow cooked beef bazella & hake with harrisa paste. I can't see a trip to Cork happening again in the future without a visit to ORSO! Staff were great too
P. T.
Amazing food and superb staff. Well worth a regular visit.
M. L.
Excellent food e service ! The waitress are very friendly and helpful.
The space is small but very pleasant, it is ideal to go with your partner or with a small group of friends.
J.
One of the best meals I've had. Good vegan options. Very high quality food and drinks. Great service.
C. D.
Just a few seats inside, but really nice and cute environment! Amazing food choices, they r very different from other restaurants around. Definitely recommend it to anyone want something new!
M. B.
Really tasty Lebanese style food. Small but lovely premises. Nice and spicy for Ireland. Try it. It's good!
B. P.
Good food, interesting choices. Its not big inside so it gets quite loud but a good buzz all the same. We had all something different and all were good as was desert
b. c.
We ordered a hake and a tagine main course. The hake dish was absolutely tasteless, it really needs a sauce or a good portion of lemon wedge to enhance the flavours. The tagine was delicious but at €22 was a very small portion. The baklava dessert was "gluey". My pre dinner gin was not served with the tonic I asked for.
The final bill included a coffee which we did not have, however they did remove this at time of payment.
Final bill for two main courses and one dessert with a bottle of wine and two pre dinner drinks was €100. Far too much for this bistro. I think our disappointment was heightened because it had been on our 'to do' list for a long time, and it turned out to be only OK. Staff were friendly though.
E. M.
Cosy place and staff are lovely! everything on their menu is so tasty and food is not too heavy! Unfortunately you cannot make bookings but worth delaying lunch off peak
E. W.
Cozy café/restaurant. Great service and wonderful food. Decent prices as well! Had the shakshuka and egg white omelette with halloumi. Great flavors and perfect portion sizes.
D. R.
Cozy with quite friendly staff and food is gas!
D. R.
Great place for small bites and drinks. The entrees looked good, too, but we stuck with just sharing starters. Get the chicken. Get the shrimp. You can thank me later.
M. W.
Delicious food, very friendly staff good atmosphere.
W. A.
Came for lunch (yum chicken kofta) and it was so good I came back for dinner. Definitely recommend the boneless lamb, Bombay spiced sweet potatoes, and lemon tart. I'll be back for breakfast. Delish!!
j. g.
One of the best restaurant in Cork (the slow cook beef is something else!) Good price, fantastic cocktail and friendly staff. No booking accepted so come early!
A. M.
Had been meaning to eat here for years but when I finally did I wasn’t massively impressed, the food was nice but that’s about it. The wait staff were very friendly though.
J. D.
This place is tiny and very popular because of the delicious food, pleasant staff, and decent portions. If you have to wait for a table, you will be well rewarded!
T. C.
The menu is a bit of a disaster for younger diners, but great place otherwise.
M. U.
One of my favourite places to go for many years! Has not let me down yet. Small space so getting a table can be tricky especially weekends and evenings
T. B.
Great food, great service, fab atmosphere, really enjoyed the night,

Great food and friendly staff.. Owned by the same crowd who run Market Lane so you can get their craft beer there.
A. D.
Good food and service. Been many times and quite like it despite the uncomfortable first visit/experience due to unnecessarily loud music.
D. S.
World-class food with friendly servers in a cozy environment. Really couldn't ask for anything better! They're also very accommodating to dietary requests.
S. L.
Amazing food in Orso. The cashew chicken is mind blowing! Gets really crowded at lunch time but totally worth the wait or take-away.

Menu - was much smaller when we went in today. Lunch options are limited for vegetarians. Unfortunately, since the chicken used isn’t free-range, less option for those who choose to avoid unnatural chicken with hormones and growth promoters.
Accessibility - The seating outside makes it very uncomfortable for one to weave in through to enter and exit the restaurant.
