Great vegetarian vegan food. I got the Buddha bowl and chips and a latte. The portions are large and they will box up leftovers to take home, a rarity in Europe. Can't wait to return

This place is so cozy that I would refer it to everyone. Good place and good food.
H. M. (.
Great selection of free from foods in the shop downstairs. Also love their carrot cake and choc cake which is made without gluten.
J. R.
A great place for lots of healthy and delicious food. The staff are also always friendly and a pleasure to deal with.
A. S.
Their market with all organic options is simply awesome! Really good €1.00 options for those short in cash (like me :)). Their restaurant offers tasty options as well, although a little pricey. The environment is cozy. Attendants are very attentive. I want to go again.

Affordable vegetarian food in nice café surroundings (5/5 green stars)
The Quay Co-op store has a small deli counter that at first we thought was the restaurant, but they directed us to go two doors down and upstairs to the main restaurant. Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, or just want to have some cheap healthy food, I’d say it’s well worth a visit. It’s a very cheerful space with some great art on the walls, friendly staff, and a good selection of main courses and desserts (and a few wines too). It’s quite like Cornucopia in Dublin in terms of ordering process, atmosphere, and food selection. I had a lentil patty with tomato sauce and two sides for €7 and my brother had a tofu green curry (€11) which also came with two sides. Mine was tasty, although I wasn’t crazy about the tomato sauce, while the green curry was a better choice – it tasted fairly authentic. For dessert I took a trip down memory lane with an apple sponge, which came with a little dish of soy custard – it tasted like 1982 (in a good way!).
I’m giving them 5/5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact. It’s a workers’ cooperative that focuses on using healthy vegetarian and vegan ingredients. I believe that many ingredients are organic (they are a member of the Organic Trust) although it would be nice if they provided more information on their ingredient sourcing on their menu and website. They cook their food on-site daily and also have an in-house bakery. The Quay Co-op has long supported the LGBT community in Cork, from the Pride parades to the resource center (The Other Place) to the book launch of Queer Republic of Cork last month. They have a space that’s also used for community events like music and yoga. The Quay Co-op was founded in 1982 as a radical/alternative community project by a collective effort of feminist, lesbian & gay, environmental and other alternative groups and individuals. “A central aim of the Co-op therefore is to ensure that space is provided for minority groupings working for change, who would otherwise have difficulty in organising in the city because of isolation and lack of the necessary support structures.”

Really tasty vegan options! The burger bap and peanut butter cup from the deli were delicious and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
J. S.
Superb range of organic foods catering specifically for vegetarian and vegan dietary needs. Well laid out with plenty of space between the aisles, giving customers an experience of un-hurried browsing and shopping. The upstairs cafe has a great selection of dishes of the day, with ample portions. In the cooler seasons a wood/coal burner adds additional warmth and atmosphere to the dining experience. 😋😋😋
J. H.
Alternative food, vegetarian. Great selection, creative presentation with locally sourced ingredients. Lovely views of the river. Extensive shop with organic healthy foods and ingredients downstairs with a nice cafe. Bookstore within also.
A. I.
I visited the upstairs cafe/ restaurant and I would definitely come back. I had the vegan patty with 2 side salads for €8.50. All very nice but I loved the salads the most, especially the chickpea one. The location is nice too.
A. M.
The food was amazing and delicious. Atmosphere was fab and the staff was very attentive and professional
j. s.
Oh boy do I love this place. My favorite vegetarian restaurant in cork. Very accommodatable for vegans and the gluten free. They have amazing vegan patties and gorgeous deserts!!!
The upstairs room is so oldy worldy and you will feel transported to a different era. Unfortunately the upstairs restaurant isn't wheelchair friendly but the downstairs restaurant is. The Health food shop is massive and absolutely brilliant. I always get the vegan cheesecake for desert and i highly recommend 😊😊😊😍
K. L.
Healthy food interesting different Dried herbs and spices and dried flowers.Like the herb side you never know what you find.
K. C.
It was ok. My friend had a meal there and I arranged to meet her there and had a cup of tea...
L. R.
One of the best organic grocery store in Cork, the vegan restaurant is a plus!!
S. F.
I always enjoy shopping there. Great choices and relaxed atmosphere.
A. H.
Adore this place. One stop shop for all your vegan and health food needs. Lovely staff, always willing to help... I’m excited for the restaurant to reopen after the lockdown. Very reasonably priced... large portions of healthy, hearty vegan & vegetarian food that’s bursting with flavour.
C. M.
I love this place. Is quite, silent, vegetarian, servers are nice, and vegetarian/vegan food is delicious. Also is not expensive. They have a lovely fireplace and amazing views of the river too. Very romantic if you get to be alone in the second's floor room with your partner. :)
S. L.
I get most of my groceries there and I just love the place. Large selection of excellent quality healthy products for a reasonable price (foods, cleaning, personal care, etc.) although vegetables are quite expensive. They also have home-made soups and meals for sale from the upstairs restaurant. The bakery products are incredible too and I can't but encourage people to sit at the café and try the gluten-free plain scone with an oat latte: delicious!
A. B.
This place has it all! There is a vast selection of bio brands, fresh fruits and veggies, vegan and vegetarian products, fresh bread and sandwiches.
If you are looking for real food, this is the place you're looking for.
M. T.
Surely the best place to eat healthy and tasty food in Cork, congratulations to the chefs! The value for money is very interesting. I highly recommend you.
I don't give the 5 stars because of the behavior of the room manager towards her waiter. I felt uncomfortable hearing the criticisms and the nastiness this woman has shown.
A good manager must motivate these employers rather than pulling them down.
O. N.
They have a wide selection of organic products and foods. There is also a coffee shop that has lovely desserts and food. Their selection of food ranges from bread to fresh produce. They have a lot of spices, beans, and health oriented products.
They have many supplements and minerals. Every type of vitamin and size. They have a lot of healthy snacks, teas, and power bars.
The store is wheelchair accessible and friendly. The space is well laid out for wheelchairs. There is a wheelchair accessible bathroom.
The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible.

The good is great, the service is great, the location is great. And after lunch, you can go shopping. Even as a non-vegetarian I thoroughly enjoyed the lasagne. Everyone at my table enjoyed their dish. We were on the second floor (ground floor plus 2) so it was cosy and felt closer to being in our own dining room, but with table service. Highly recommended!
S. B.
Love this spot. Food is amazing. Salads are to die for. Love thier but burger and vegan pesto. They do (oat) tumeric lattes- not an easy thing to find! Top floor is a bit too quite though.
M. B.
All in all, the upstairs half of the Quay Co-op is a wildly surprising economical dining experience when compared to the contents and value of the market selection featured in the lower floor. Location is phenomenal, service is phenomenal, value is phenomenal buuuuut the food just isn't great. For a no-meat restaurant, to limits yourself to curries (or similar) and nut-based dishes is very amateurial. There is a plethora of rich, inspired dishes that make use of vegetables alone in supremely flavorful and creative ways. It's a different stop than you'll mostly get, and at a terrific price, but you get over it really quickly, especially if you can't secure one of the tables overlooking the river for a more emotionally resonant dine.
A. Z.
An amazing place for people with special dietary needs. There you can find organic food, gluten free, vegan food, dietary supplements, fruits and a huge variety of products, including tea.
I've been in Cork and l would have lunch at quay co-op. Always tasteful options gluten free and milk free, and also very kind staff. Next time visiting Cork I'll certainly go back to quay co-op.
M. d. F. M.
Absolutely love Quay-coop! Food is lovely, staff very friendly, love the top floor, the music, beautiful view of the bridge and there is always amazing art on the walls, that change time to time, so you get to know different artists and their work! Fantastic idea! Highly recommend it!
B. P.
One of my favourite ventures in the city! Both the downstairs wholefoods and supplement shop and the upstairs restaurant have great quality produce available with lots there to cater for people with alternative diets. If you're veggie or gluten-free this is the place for you!
P. S.
Wonderful vegetarian and vegan food. Frequently changing menu. Cozy atmosphere. Great place to have a lovely dinner. And for a good price!
Be aware; the restaurant part is open till late, not 18:00 (see their website)
R. D.
Superb range of produce - very unususl items stocked that are not available anywhere else. VERY PRICEY though - paid €7.50 for 1/2 litre of frozen Acai berries - not again. However, I always buy some other favourite products here, such as George Watkins Mushroom Ketchup & Dives Granary Flour.
E. H.
I am vegan and whenever I am in Cork City I visit Quay Coop. The store has great choice of soups, different types of organic dried fruits, vegan milk, sesame paste, tofu etc that I love and I cannot find anywhere else in Cork. I definitely prefer the store over the restaurant. The latter offers very average food. The choice is good however the food often is tasteless and I assume their cook is not very talented.
m. f.
Tasty vegetarian/vegan food, I had a nut roast and it was delicious with nice rich gravy. The supermarket downstairs has a brilliant selection of veggie food.
N. M.
Great shop and the restaurant lives up to the high standard. Excellent vegetarian and vegan food at v reasonable price upstairs. Good selection of side dishes that come with your meal, you won't be hungry.
M. V. M.
Delicious food and drink! You can pick randonmly as everything is fab!!!
L. C.
The food and the drinks are usually pretty good. Regarding the service, I must have been unlucky as last time I went my chai latte was impossible to drink due to a completely unreasonable amount of cinnamon: I politely asked to make another one ( mistakes happen but I should not be the one inconvenienced for it!) and the waitress all grumpy asked me if I wanted to add honey instead .I had to tell her straight that as she made a mistake in the preparation it was practically impossible to drink whatever she had prepared. Then finally she honoured me with another drink, which was even served with a considerable delay!
T. C.
The food and staff treat you with decency and are very helpful if you have any questions regarding any dietary or food. The food is exceptionally great and you always feel full but healthy and happy. I would highly recommend this diamond of a restaurant to anyone wishing to eat out.
D. S.
Always reliably snug. Stove and newspapers. Comprehensive allergen information and options. It is upstairs, so not accessible. The toilets are up yet more stairs which is weird again. There are specials each day so food is varied but always good. Hot soup always and a range of salads. All kinds of herbal teas. Twenty ways to make coffee taste different with additional flavours and non dairy white stuff. Their massive shop is underneath on the ground floor so if you get inspired you can go food shopping when you are full up (always a good plan!). It's a short walk to anywhere in the central area of Cork. The shops stations and theatres are all within a ten minute walk. Bikes can be chained opposite on the railings, next to the river in good view of the windows. Relax and chill.
Self service and a reasonable price. Distressed sandles and hand knit jumper dress code. Often a rotating selection of art on the walls.
E. o.
Corks great whole food/ organic / eco products store I can get everything I need there
P. R.
Loce this shop and the cafe has a great menu. All things Vegan its a must
A. D.
Some of the friendliest staff I've ever encountered! Great food, affordable prices, and clean environment.
Note for those who have trouble with stairs—you might want to think twice. The food area is upstairs (not ground floor).
S. J.
A must for any one serious about eating healthy
G. O.
Every city needs a place dishing out wholesome food for the masses. While certain things will be priced above what you'll find in your local supermarket, the quality of the produce is undeniable and for me, worth every penny. If it doesn't go on food, it goes on the doctor.
A. A.
Lovely little place hidden away in Cork. Really helpful staff and a delicious selection of vegetarian and vegan food. When asked about gluten free options, the staff knew what they were talking about and were willing to take the time to help.
A. H.
The best place for organic vegetarian produce and they have a variety of vegetarian rolls and wraps in there mini cafe . I would highly recommend this place.
A. J.
Originally from West Cork but living away I hadn't been for almost a decade. Cafe recently decorared and walls adorned with colourful floral landscapes. Vegan mixed berry cheesecake just as delicious as I'd remembered. Savouries a bit bland and unadventurous.
C. L.
Great spot for vegetarians, vegans and everyone else. I wish they would have bulk, loose rice and pasta to refill my kilner jars.
M. G.
Best restaurant in Cork for vegetarian food, staff are friendly, great relaxed atmosphere and exhibiton space. All the food is delicious and the cakes are amazing especially the avocado and chocolate!
P. D. E.
Adore this market. You can find a great varaiety of organic products, lovely staff and healthy meals options for €1.00!
M. C.
Good range of vegan food in the Sullivan's Quay shop, but the counter staff may have yawned less today if they made a bit of an effort to be helpful to customers. Doesn't take much to put a few things in a bag. Or maybe they were they afraid of breaking a nail.
M. J.
An institution in Cork, the Quay Coop restaurant serves a wide, diverse range of vegetarian and vegan hot food, salads, cakes, desserts and various drinks including wines etc. Staff are friendly, space is relaxed and comfortable. Location is good, especially on the 2nd floor overlooking the River Lee and Grand Parade. Artworks from local artists on the walls change regularly.
W. K.
The Quay Co-op restaurant is on the first and second floor, and sadly seems to not be wheelchair accessible.
Its an unpretentious vegetarian eatery, with excellent food and knowledgeable staff who can steer you around any food advice (being allergic to nuts makes most vegetarian and vegan options dangerous for me, they can steer me around).
d. g.
Very tasty vegetarian meals and fab salads. Lots of interesting options and very reasonable prices. Coffee was very good too.
R. T.
Something always available for vegetarians
S. K.
Really good food and friendly service. We have been there two days in a row.
A. C.
It's a good place to find local food and some specific ingredient (seaweeds)
A. O.
Tasty vegetarian and vegan food, lovely staff, very reasonable prices. Portions are rather large, so bare in mind when ordering everything in one go. :)
B. D.
Three times bigger with 5 times the item selection that I had expected. I recommend anyone to stop by if you are looking for particular ingredients or items!
P. C.
Beautiful restaurant ! Went in with my son ! I am not vegan but I tried some off their food ! It was fantastic ! Nice and friendly staff ! Shall be back !
R. L.
Great place for vegetarians and simply amateurs of good food! The view on the river is great and it's really a beautiful place to stay for a tea or a full meal...
C. S.
Great place to locate organic and alternative food items (not easily found in main food stoes). Friendly staff with tempting cafe nearby with varied deliciously cooked food at reasonable prices.
A. O.
Love the food here and the staff are very nice. It's my one stop shop for a scone and tea. Especially the gluten free raspberry scones they are lovely.
R. F.
Great range of well prepared and nicely plated vegan and vegetarian food, desserts and coffee. Two floors in a historic building, very atmospheric and quirky interiors.
T. H.
Some of the best vegetarian food in cork with an diverse and wide ranging menu. Situated in a cool pokey old building on the quayside with really nice staff and windows that overlook the river.
J. B.
This is a place to enjoy a coffee, early bird vegetarian meal, full dinner with wine while being able to keep an eye of the goings on in the city through the looking glass! I enjoy my morning coffee and snack with the Soduku several times a month.
M. M.
I've been a weekly customer for the past twenty years and without doubt, it has the most friendly and helpful staff in Cork City.
The organic wines are the best selection in the city. Excellent quality.

Tasty food and lovely service. We didn't come here since a couple of years because of Covid, the place changed a bit, it was great before and it's great now as well. The ambiance is relaxing and I like that you are npw served at the table. We'll be back again for sure.

(Translated) If you don't like beans and lentils like me, you have a hard time. The choice of vegetarian meals is also not very large.
I would describe the location as "alternative". Every effort is made to accommodate the environment (glass bottles, eco-paper napkins, etc.)
A great place for people who are not so limited in what they eat. (I didn't like anything - but that was up to me)
(Original)
