Food was extremely delicious. My wife and I had the kimchi seafood stew and the soft shell crab sushi roll. The stew was out of this world. Balance of spicy and savoury and also very nice to have it hot during this cold weather. The sushi was delicious too. We even order one to go before heading back home. The amount of meat in the stew was a lot. A bit on the pricey side but worth every penny. Friendly staff amd nice environment. Also provided a complimentary green tea upon seating. Service was fast but keep in mind there was just ourselves and another 2 groups eating at that time. Would recommend anyone in Cork in search of Asian/Japanese sushi. Would try it again when back in Cork. Washroom was clean as well.

Went here a few years ago and liked it, went again recently and now I love it. The food, the staff, the ambience all fabulous.Its not plush but it has so much character. Toilet access for wheelchairs would pose a problem though. When this restaurant gets the attention it deserves you will struggle to get a booking.

It's with Wabisabi, one of the best Japanese restaurant in Cork. The quality is good but it's very expensive. You should do special offers and menus...like this it's too expensive and l can go there only 2 times for year.

The food was excellent and very delicious! The Ramen and broth was full of flavour and the service was amazing, especially Maria who was very kind and took our orders with a warm welcome. I would definitely recommend coming here if you want good quality food and service.

Good option for Japanese food. Vegan and vegetarian options are usually available. Atmosphere is very quiet but relaxing. Sometimes the food here can be a little overpriced. I do like the vegetarian ramen however!

The place is very small, I suggest to make booking ahead of time. It’s beautifully decoreted at a very central location. The service is actually quite quick and good. The staff is smiling and welcoming. Everything was tasty and yummy, I higly recommended the tempura. Please avoid the desserts: tasteless and expencive.

We had food here early on a Saturday night on the way into town. Didn't have a booking but they were able to take us, very pleasant staff. The menu is extensive and reasonable value. It was it first time eating Japanese food and we were very impressed. Service was very quick too. Happy to recommend.

We had a lovely meal there. We walked in and were told we would have to wait 1/2 hr. However, after 5 minutes we were given a seat. We ordered right away. Within 10 or so minutes our meal had arrived. We had the duck. The servers are nice and prompt. There is little time to have a bit of a chat. They claim to be a Japanese restaurant; however, the owners are Chinese. Not a big deal. The quality of the duck was a bit dry. It would be a bit difficult for a person in wheelchair to access the place. The layout of the restaurant is a bit tight.

Discovered the place yesterday thanks to my housemate. We had a great dinner. My seafood wok was absolutely DELICIOUS!!!! The place gets busy around 7pm so I would advise to come at 6 to enjoy the relaxing background music! Just a little thing: if you can, try and get a table in the back of the room, closer to the bar, as it can be chilly with the entrance door opening and closing. Overall, a great experience! I'll come back!

Like the food, staff/management very good but as feedback I don't recommend ordering through deliveroo. They don't have deliveroo drivers and this leads to disruptions. Better ordering through their website or just takeaway and you will feel satisfied 😎

This restaurant is definitely my favourite place to go. I've been here many times and tried a lot of things on the menu and everything I've gotten so far has been delicious. The menu has so much choice that there really is something for everyone. The staff are always really polite and friendly, and the atmosphere is so relaxing. I always leave feeling completely satisfied. It really is an amazing place.

Great hidden gem. The food is great. The prices are reasonable. The staff work so hard. Very friendly and will always answer my silly questions. Gotta say though, I've had the veggie tempura a few times (cos it's great!) But today it included a clump of mushrooms that I wasn't crazy about. First and only niggle over many visits. Very enjoyable experience. The menu is sufficiently broad that even if you are not familiar with Japanese cuisine you will still find something nice to eat. The food itself is very well presented. If you want to taste a proper japanese cuisine, that is the place, the miso soup was one of the best I ever had. I tried kimchi (fermented cabbage) for the first time there I should say that I was a bit of afraid of eating it, considering it is fermented and smells weird, there is a science behind it making it very hard to make it yourself at home, I finish leaving more than half bowl left because I was afraid of some bad reaction, turned out the japanneses never disapoint you. I had no negative reaction even having a very sensitive stomach. I Should have bringing it home with me for having more latter on. The Sushi was lovely as well.

Worst sometimes is cold in there and they bring you courses when ever it suit them, doesn't mater if you just get the corse before, so some times you don't have time to enjoy one dish becouse you have following already in the table and you can see it will be cold when you will start it.

Sakura Japanese Cuisine has a really versatile menu that shows that Japan is more than just Sushi. We've ordered Gyoza, Chicken Katsu Curry, Wakame salad and Glazed Terriyaki Tofu. While the Chicken Katsu Curry was a bit disappointing size- and taste-wise, the Tofu was pure heaven. Definitely worth a visit.

I had a sashimi platter when I visited and the fish was so fresh. It was amazing. It practically melted in my mouth. The service was also great and they had a wide variety of selections, including a dinner bento box that I was considering. The only downside would be the portion of the sashimi. It was a bit small (for the price). Again, I might just be used to different standards for food pricing, but when I paid the bill, I cried for my student wallet and was still a bit hungry.

Overall, the experience was very good. The combo tempura plate was mostly vegetables, so if you’re looking for mostly shrimp or fish, stick to the individual order (but it was still all very delicious). The sashimi was an excellent cut and very fresh. The rainbow roll was my only complaint. It is one of the more expensive rolls, but only came with 3 very small pieces of fish on the whole roll. 5 out of the 8 pieces had avocado as the topping and absolutely no fish. In addition, the roll itself was about 80% rice, 10% avocado, and 10% solid “unshredded” crabstick. It was way to much rice and way to little fish. In all fairness, when I️ asked if it was the normal amount of fish, they added some more. Service = 10/5 :) Sashimi = 5/5 Rainbow roll = 2.5/5 Total = 4/5 Overall a great place to get some good fish.
