Tequila Jack's is an extremely lively restaurant definitely worth a visit for the vibes itself. Their Mexican food is very tasty. The burrito is highly recommended. Staff are also extremely friendly and welcoming. However, they lose two stars over their cocktails. Do not spend €12 each on these poorly made drinks. Most were far too strong or felt thrown together. The Margarita mixed with a bottle of SOL was perhaps the worst thing I have ever tasted. Felt like playing a game of kings and you got the short straw

The atmosphere is vibrant and lively. Staff are friendly. However, my main meal of fish tacos was disappointing. Actual taco shell was not heated. The battered fish part was good, however, the tacos had so much purple cabbage that they broke and the contents collapsed on my plate - and I was eating very carefully. Also there was barely aioli which made the filling overall quite dry. Maybe less cabbage, more aioli would work better? I ordered churros for take away and those were great. P.S. don't heat up the chocolate and caramel sauces in the microwave as the containers melt 🙃 food took forever but it was very busy. On the positive, my friend was happy with her chicken enchiladas. Other friends said veg/chicken tacos were good (not great) and the cocktails were a hit. Overall, I'd recommend going there for the vibe and maybe not ordering the fish tacos.

Amazing experience at this restaurant - one of my new favorites! Been there about 3 times in the last month alone and hosted my birthday dinner there with friends! Got chicken Quesadilla and wings to start. Quesadilla was really nice but wings were dry. I'd recommend asking for wing sauce when ordering. For mains we went for chicken taco and fish taco. You only get two tacos each, but they give you a black bean dip and rice. They were only okay, but would rather another taco instead of the rice. Pricey for what you get. Service was excellent.

The cocktails were fabulous, but we were surprised at how difficult it was to get the tequila list. Food is also excellent but the sides seemed strange. Rice served with the enchilada was a heavy garlic flavored rice when I was hoping for a classic tomato-based Mexican rice.

Really nice outside area to chill out during the sunny spells along the quay. Specifically went there to get a snack and a drink to refresh the bodies. Heard of the good Mexican Crowd pleasing menu. We just had a share of the Nachos. Slightly browned on service from the oven in the kitchen but didn't kill the taste. The real deal was the guy that went above and beyond the call of duty to make my pregnant girlfriend feel awesome with a zingy alcohol free cocktail. I love cocktails and I just wish I picked this aswell. Stephen was the chaps name and what a gentleman at that. Had such a good attitude and advice was golden to be honest. Good on you dude. Love the outside area but the bar is a force to reckon with. Tequila jacks is a good pit stop for any tourist or local. Wheelchair accessible and good food.

First time in Ireland and we decided to go to a Mexican restaurant haha. Nevertheless, the atmosphere was okay. The amount of time it took for us to get our orders was unusually long. The chips, guac and salsa was my favorite thing of the menu for the night. I also enjoyed the quesadillas on the appetizer menu. The fajitas I ordered didn't seem to have much flavor to it. The chicken came out particularly dry. The bell peppers were okay. The fajitas over all was not a good menu option for me.

Loud, large, good set up and consistent re face masks and hygiene etc. Share a meat free or Pulled pork nachos huge portion, loads of fresh guaccamoli, sour cream, chilli's and crispy corn tacos. Gluten free corn Taco option available. Fajitas have choice of shrimp, steak, chicken all sides usual tex mex and large portion. Fun place to eat with friends.

Went for dinner with a few friends on a Friday evening. The food was very quick, some portions were a bit small but the dessert fixed that very quickly. Cocktails are absolutely fabulous and waitress that served us was a lot of fun, she made the evening really. Only thing I didn't like is that we had to ask for our table to be cleared before and as the desserts arrived, and had to ask for the spoons. Other than that we had a great time.

Lovely nearly authentic Mexican food! My only complaint is that the enchiladas are made for the Irish palette, dry, whereas in Mexico they are swimming in a pool of enchilada sauce. The cheese fondue is not the Mexican cheese flavor but still tastes wonderful! The rice was yellow vs Mexican rice which is always red due to the blended tomato/water mix they boil it in. Amazing flavors here and excellent service but still seeking the authentic Mexican food experience like back home.

Would of given it a higher score only that there were four in our group and we took a seat on the board walk in their assigned seating area as the weather was fab, had to go and get our own menus after 10 minutes of waiting only to be told they wouldn't serve us food by the river so we moved into their veranda area, waited a further 15 minutes and eventually had to stop someone and ask them if they would take our order and in the time it took to get our food (which was only 4 starters with 4 drinks and took near on 30 minutes to get once we had ordered) we watched them serve food and drinks to a couple sitting on the boardwalk where we were previously told they wouldn't service us. To top it off when we asked for the bill they got the charge wrong... all that being said the staff were lovely when we managed to speak to them and I would of scored higher had they been more organized!

Great food and the staff are lovely but it can be extremely busy Friday through Sunday evenings and the service seems to suffer for it. Cocktail drink order was left sitting on the bar for 10 minutes and part of our food order was not brought out until we reminded them it was missing. Again staff were very friendly and apologetic especially Rob. The food is about as close to real Mexican as I've had in Cork though some dishes have been made more suitable to the local tastes and ingredients..

The food is quite good here, really has that Mexican twist to it, so well done Chef! The atmosphere is fine, but when the lights are full on and music is loud, it just makes it seem less than a restaurant, more of a canteen feeling. Hard to describe it. Why not just dim the lights a bit and play some Mexican music in the background, nothing too loud? Weird music and soccer playing on the TVs is not very mexicany. The staff are friendly, but there is one waitress who tries too hard to sell you things.

Love this place, it has good food, even better cocktails, very good friendly helpful staff and they have some good gluten free options... the salads on offer are very filling and delicious... On my most recent visit, the staff even offered to amend dishes to suit my GF needs at no extra cost which is fab. Definitely worth a visit!

It's a nicely kitted out place and the outdoor space looks good. It's nicely lit - not too bright and not too dark. Music was at an acceptable volume. Service was friendly but a bit on the slow side. The food was nicely presented and the beef in the steak taco was gorgeous. The pickled cabbage was tasteless. The chicken in the chicken taco was dry and not all that good. The fish tacos were ok with nice battered fish but they lacked "bite" - some salsa would have really helped. The refried beans were odd and not as nice as the usual refried beans - they seemed salty and wet. Rice is served in a mound on a board - a bowl would have been tidier. Chips were grand. Overall I felt the food looked nice but was quite bland.

The food is excellent from presentation to flavours, they dont skimp on basics like corriander or sour cream etc. The staff are friendly helpfull and dont get flustered with big groups. Id actually give it 6 stars * * * * * * its about time Cork had more places like this to eat in.

Great spot - filling portions and helpful team members. We were out for Jazzfest and despite the bustling restaurant they were speedy and accurate. Most notably I was super impressed by their cocktail menu - specifically their selection of alcohol-free options. All of Jazzfest I was stuck drinking sparkling water and soda as local pubs didn’t have many NA options and so I was delighted when I could enjoy a virgin martini as well as a “Bandita” cocktail at Tequila Jacks. Would not hesitate to return next time I visit Cork! Thank you.
