Went for brunch yesterday. We received a lovely welcome, all Covid requirements were visibility apparent. Flat white was perfection and I ordered the oatmeal pancakes, others ordered porridge, poached eggs, bacon with sour dough bread. Service top class. If I could just suggest one recommendation, the background music was a little loud, and choice of music wasn’t the best and at times we had to compete with it. Definitely will be frequenting the bookshelf again, looking forward to it already highly recommended 👌 👍 😀 😄 😊 🙂 👌 👍 😀

I only have positive things to say about this place! Friendly and very efficient service every time I've been there, even during a rush. The ambience is very nice, can be casual enough for a morning coffee and pastry, but upscale enough for cocktails and dinners in the evening. Their delph and glasses are aesthetically pleasing, as are many of their dishes! While a little pricier than some other cafes, the unique and tasteful menu is worth it, can cater to a broad array of dietary restrictions or preferences. Below pictured is (1-smoothie bowl 😍, 2-white chocolate and pistachio crème brûlée, 3-Franciscan Wells Chieftan on tap with an Asian salad, tortilla chips, and a latte and almond crossaint).

Made a short stop here for a quick coffee & tea with delicious pastries. Had a look at menu & very impressed with selection and mains. Would definitely go again, lovely staff & service.

Ate here for the first time Saturday evening for tapas. Really impressed with the extensive menu. Quality was great, in particular I loved the feta wrapped in maple ham, sweet potato croquettes, patatas bravas. The staff are really friendly, professional but not pretentious. Got the best dessert I've had in ages with the queen of puddings. I found the prices very reasonable too. Would highly recommend!

Food was tasty, service was good. I'd definitely recommend booking in advance. I was here at lunch time on a Sunday and a few people had to be turned away because it was full. Always a good sign.

Full disclosure - I've only experienced the Brunch menu here, so that's all I can weigh in on. Having said that however, what I did experience was fantastic. All food was made fresh on site in the kitchen, and was all flavourful and wonderfully presented. There's a continental and especially Iberian/Italian flavour to the food there, though with local twists - like the thin crust "breakfast pizza". A great selection of coffees on offer as well, not to mention some brunch cocktails. Not much of a view, but it's a good distance from both City Center and the nearby Elysium, which has a carpark you can use. Also a good venue for parties or business lunches if you pre book.

Plenty of vegan options and a welcoming attitude towards vegans. Brilliant location, prices are reasonable, the place is very clean and stylish, service warm and friendly, and food - simply sublime. We went for breakfast, stayed for coffees, pastries and a good chat, and will definitely be back! A new favourite in Cork.

One of the best spots in the city to eat! Hands down our favourite place to enjoy some high quality coffee or chow down on unbelievable food. They’ve got the brunch game down and are now starting a tapas menu that is to die for. We like to be kind about places because these are people’s business and livelihood but trust us when we say that there is no over-exaggeration here. The bookshelf coffee house is always a great place for food and coffee. The new location is lovely. The decor and the space is wonderful for groups and families or to dine alone. They specialize in speciality coffee. Their menu is delicious. They are wheelchair accessible and friendly. They have wheelchair accessible restrooms.
