The service is pretty good and the interior is well decorated, but the best thing about this place is probably the food. Every meal I've had there I've wanted to scoff down as fast as possible, but the food at Yuan Ming Yuan is certainly something better savoured and enjoyed. It's an experience, not just something to stuff your gob with. Definitely on the pricier side but every cent is absolutely justified and worth it. Hands down the best Chinese in the city 👐

Best Dim Sum!! I first went to this place almost 10yrs ago just after my wife and I got married. I went again last night for my sister's birthday. Happy to report the food is still just as good. The Xiao long bao is amazing. It's dumpling with pork and a delicious broth inside it so it all comes out when you bite into it. So good! Definitely our favourite. We ordered a number of other dim sum too from some crispy gyoza to some big BBQ buns. We also got some satay chicken skewers. The decor of this restaurant is also amazing. Visited here last night for a party for a friend. The catered well considering we were a big group. They were clearly run off their feet on Saturday night. Still very tasty food.

Not a bad place, not particularly amazing either. The duck itself was good but the pancakes were cold and the sliced veggies were in a small quantity. The smokey chicken is just not great but the beef stir fry was nice. Polite staff but the restaurant was just super cold inside.

Nice Chinese restaurant on Princess street,. First impressions are, it does not look great on the outside and you could easily walk passed it without really noticing, however inside the decor is very nice oriental style. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The menu is comprehensive and the prices are fair. The service was quick and the food presentation was excellent. The food to eat was good, my peking ribs starter was very good, however my seafood stir fry was a little bland. The wine menu was limited. While my banana fritter was very nice, the dessert menu could be better. Overall cleanliness was good, however the toilets while clean, were very basic and small. Overall experience was good and the value was good, I would go again.

Hands down the best Chinese in town! Staff are sound as pounds with food that's gorgeous. There used to be like a 'secret' menu but it's all up front now and tasty. A lovely place to have dinner. Their Chinese food is authentic. It is a bit romantic and cozy. Get a seat by the window if you are on a date. The portions are big. You will walk away full. Went here to enjoy the Dim Sum menu. We were given the normal menu and the staff were surprised when we asked for the dim sum menu, so maybe not many Irish people know about this delicious option. Anyway the food was spectacular especially the steamed buns. We will be back again soon as the main courses did look amazing on other tables. However our dim sum was really good and we had an enjoyable time. One small thing I noticed, we asked for Chopsticks and got basic wooden ones that you have to snap to use, which was not the authentic experience. Also there was “the best of love songs” being played which was a bit unusual. Some nice authentic Chinese music would have been really nice.

Neither were all those who finished eating and left while we waited, as we asked each group as to what they felt about the food. I have travelled in many countries I found their food the real Chinese Food with the dim sum! The rest of the food I ordered was delicious and was not changed to adapt it to the taste of the locals. I've been wanting to try Chinese in Cork for a week, it's a pet peeve of mine. My wife was doing some shopping and I stayed with my children for a walk. I looked for the best Chinese in the city and this one appeared. It was a very homely experience. We arrived a little late and there was little of the usual clientele but they treated us very kindly and gave us a great table. We ordered dim sum because my wife loves them, duck with rice, prawns with sauce and everything arrived on the table at the same time. My wife too. My 4 and 6 year old children loved the duck and the dim sum and the older ones enjoyed it a lot too. They were attentive to us at all times and offered us alternatives for the children, although it was not necessary. The treatment was totally familiar, very close. We will repeat next time.
