A casual fine dining experience, perhaps? Attention to detail but without the stuffiness of those pretentious places. We had the Fish ‘n’ Chips and a Fisherman‘a Pie, both delicious and high quality. Fortunately, there was room for dessert in the form of a Honeycomb Sundae and an Apple and Berry Crumble. Both were really well made.

We have been long term customers of quay west before our kids and visited for some food again over Christmas early in the evening with them in tow. Honestly, the service was second to none, Jo went above and beyond as she always does. The food was flawless and they did everything to engage with the children and make it a lovely experience for them. Can't wait to get back more now with the lifting of restrictions.

Just had the most amazing meal here. A family occasion with mother in law. Manager made a huge fuss of MIL which went down a treat. Already talking about coming back and we haven’t left yet. Atmosphere was relaxed, yet efficient. Best fisherman pie ever according to brother in law!

We came to visit Donegal and decided to come here as we saw it had outdoor area. We came with our dog and I have to say we were so happy that a lovely gentleman gave us a bowl of water for her 😊 The food was lovely and the staff absolutely amazing! We went to Quay West Restaurant as we were looking online for a place to eat in Donegal and were intrigued by the good reviews. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The service was very polite, attentive and fast, it was hard to choose from the fantastic menu, the food was delicious and the ambiance was relaxing and nice. We will definitely come back, this was the nicest place we've been so far in County Donegal, while being still very reasonably priced!

This was one of the best meals our group had during our two week stay in beautiful Ireland. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I even got to pull my first Guinness! My entree, which I posted a picture, I believe was a smoked mackerel(sorry if that's the wrong fish), and was honestly one of the best seafood dishes I've ever tasted. Fantastic! Perfect balance of smoky to fresh, not in the least bit dry. I enjoyed every bite. Served with bacon and potatoes and a luscious creamy sauce. Just wow!

Food is OK, staff are a bit slow but wine was awful. We ordered Chardonnay and Merlot. Both were undrinkable. Owner recovered well when we complained and removed one bottle from the bill.

We booked into this restaurant on our weekend staycation to Donegal town. The service was excellent. Very professional and friendly. I had the smoked haddock and my partner had the rib eye steak. Both spectacular! Flavour and quality was amazing. Finished it off with their 'Quay West Sticky Toffee Pudding'. Let's just say I would bathe In that caramel sauce!! Very stylish interior to the restaurant with a view of the waterfront. Great experience from start to finish.

If your looking for a steak in donegal well the quay west is the place to go , charcoal cooked. Highly recommend the Rib eye steak Served with there signature whiskey sauce delicious! My partner wasn’t to impressed with her fillet steak it’s was tough enough for a fillet probably because it wasn’t tenderize but she did order it medium and fillet’s nicer medium raw. Now on to my opinion on there chicken wings, average enough but have to admit they use sriracha hot chilly sauce which goes well ! There desserts are very good best sticky toffee pudding I have tased so far. Friendly place and good service, not shy of a chat.

The very best restaurant in Beautiful Donegal. Frount of house Joan gave us a very warm Irish welcome, all Covid regulations in place, we felt very safe. The food was delicious and notting was a problem (no onions no mushrooms etc) all the staff were friendly and looked happy doing there job. Very good pricing for top quality food and drink.

My wife and I booked a table last minute which was no problem on a very busy Sunday evening. With the current Covid situation going on, staff greeted us were using PPE and the utmost care with customers. Sanitising menus, tables, cutlery etc. We where sat at a beautiful window table overlooking donegal Bay, We both had 3 courses with drinks which we couldnt find a fault in either food was beautiful as we're the cocktails! after our waitress came to the table with a gentle reminder of the 90 dining time that's currently in place for restaurants due to the covid guidelines, upon paying the bill I had enquired about information about the local bars which ones were the best etc, the waitress informed us that all bars in the town were closed but if we wanted she could provide us with a table outside for a drink which we accepted, she led us outside to the table area sat my wife down and even put a blanket around my wife to keep her warm! Outstanding customer service! The table was quiet and private which was very nice as the restaurant was very busy at that time, we both enjoyed our drinks and took our leave. I didn't catch the lady's name who served us (apologies) but if you read this you are a credit to the restaurant! 5 stars *****

Took us very late Saturday night. Excellent service and hospitality. I had the Killybegs Smokies to start. They were phenomenal. My main was fish and chips...also very good. My partner had a potato/tomato/cheese starter (can’t remember the name) it was very nice! And he had the burger which was sooo good. I would recommend this place. Really enjoyed it.

The food was good, but the staff seemed bewildered at our presence from the moment we set foot in the door. They asked if we had a reservation, and when we didn't, the staff sat us by the window, then 30 seconds later moved us because that table was apparently reserved. Then we were asked if we would like to move tables at least 5 times by two different staff members. Also they got my husbands order wrong, he decided against sending it back, we didn't want to add to the confusion! Overall, good food, but I would be unlikely to reccomend this restaurant to anyone based on our experience.

Has dinner here last week. I was very impressed. The owner is so pleasant and the staff are very friendly and professional. Food serving is good and nice selection on menu. If you want a romantic night out this is a good spot. Group booking also taken. Great atmosphere worth a visit, you won't regret.

Just returned home from one of the finest dinners we have had thus far during the past eleven days here in Ireland. We had been referred here by a local resident we met, who just so happened to be a Culinary Arts professor! Not only was the food superb, but the atmosphere and cordiality shown us by the owner Jo, was a great addition to the Prawns Gratin i enjoyed as my appetizer. Wowza! Brought my parents to Quay West last night for dinner and we hit the jackpot! The food was exceptional. My parents both had the Simply Salmon and thoroughly enjoyed the dish (very fresh, tasty & very well presented). I had two starters instead of a main - the Killybegs Smokies and the King Prawn Gratin. Both had been recommended and I could not thank the manager Jo enough! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS 😋 the taste was exquisite, fresh and simply to die for! Highly recommend 😍
