Lovely place for a stop over if your passing tru food was very tasty only gripe I'd have is the long wait to get the food to your table it was very busy so it was understandable staff very helpful ill be back again for sure

The food is lovely, and I'd say reasonably priced. The staff were friendly enough (though there were two women working there that day, and although both were very friendly, one was not wearing a mask for the entire time we visited). We were served coffee in dirty cups as well, and there's a general rough-and-ready nature about the decor (there's obviously been some love put into the place in some ways, but not in others; nice decorations, free wi-fi, and the diner theme is unique to the area, which is great. But the walls and booths are quite old feeling, and need at least a professional lick of paint). I can appreciate the location is probably highly appealing to a certain clientele (located along the road, it seems a perfect stop off for people on longer travels, builders, truckers, etc), and the food itself is genuinely brilliant. The breakfast roll I got was delicious and well presented. I get the feeling it's a family run affair, a proper labor of love, and I can respect that massively. But overall cleanliness is a big deal for me personally, so I've given it a solid three stars (and probably would have been four if not for the dirty cup and maskless waitress). Would 100% be back again though.

Always stopped at this place through the years and various owners. The breakfast is by far the best value for money I have encountered in recent times. The staff were excellent. Well worth going off the M1 and visiting Daves Diner.

We nipped in for breakfast on a tuesday morning in September..The restaurant is car and motorbiked thymed which is nice if you like that sort of thing... Tables and booths are a bit dated along with the decor could do with refreshing up a bit,anyway we ordered 2 x breakfasts with tea and toast..the tea came straight away and breakfasts 25 minutes later..mushrooms were very dry as pre cooked plus cold toast . The restaurant feels clumsy and the food reflects this... Maybe lunch service would be better but I doubt it...breakfast was cheap enough 7 euro for scrambled eggs,2 x black pudding,beans,mushrooms and tea and toast...staff were friendly..

Brilliant diner. Dropped in on the way home a couple of months back and was pleasantly surprised. My boyfriend didn't like onions but Dave and the lovely waitress were all too happy to accommodate him, even offering to make him a special onion-free burger! Couldn't fault the prices either. When my mother flew over to visit from the UK, she just had to go for breakfast at the diner we'd been raving about and it really didn't disappoint. Loved the trays the 'Big D's' breakfast were served on. And my boyfriend could pick whatever items he wanted (3 sausages, 5 pudding!) The whole place is brilliantly atmospheric, with the good luck cards lining the window, and the license plates on the walls. The tea was brilliant too, best cup of tea I'd had since leaving the UK! Will definitely be back! Thank you for a great meal again Dave!

My granny and I have been on and off regulars for a good few months now, and I have to say it's become a home away from home! Had an absolutely slap up meal to celebrate my granny's 66th and despite all the hectic ness of feeding a group of 12 on top of all the other customers, Dave still made time to come out and see us and make sure everything was okay. He even surprised us with a cake for her! The staff are lovely, the portions are enough to keep you fed all day and the prices are extremely fair. you're definitely getting your money's worth going here :)! Cant wait to come again for my own birthday celebration!!

I hope it is successful, a definite improvement than the previous version of the diner. Not sure the breakfast tray work, it felt a bit like prison food. The food was okay but not hot enough, but not cold enough to complain. The service was good and friendly. I would recommend it as a diner.

Went into Dave's diner for the first time today, it was extremely busy but the waitress was so friendly she explained how busy they where and she could not take our order for 20 mins, we decided to wait and we where not disappointed the food was so good and the staff were brilliant and friendly, id rather wait for good food and service than rushed and disappointed. I have been going to Dave's diner since it first opened . I have to say that my wife and I just love it the staff is just so friendly and Dave the chef is a lovely man. the food is just cooked to perfection and you just get what you order . By far the best place I have had breakfast in Ireland. IF YOU GO TO DAVES DINER AND YOUR NOT 100% I personally will pay for your meal. 10 out 10. You know how you have a lovely cupa tea and go for the second cup and it's never as nice well not in Dave's I couldn't believe the second cup was just as nice as the 1st one this never happened to me before Thank you Dave

Excellent breakfast, homemade hashbrowns which are savage, and its clean. Full breakfast comes on a prison tray which isn't everyone's cup of tea, or mine, but just ask for a plate. Staff are great, really friendly and can't do enough for you. It's busy all the time which speaks volumes, delighted to see it doing so well. Long may it continue.

A hidden little gem on the way to Bettystown. Small little diner with a lot of history has just reopened and looks the part. Dave the owner is on site and is the sort person you would be happy to be greeted by. The staff are friendly and helpful. Nice small menu to choose from if you looking a quick bite to eat. Since it re-opened under new management it is getting busier and busier as weeks go bye. Car park full at Breakfast and lunch times. Waitress said today there would be a bit if wait, not really an issue. Food is all freshly prepared, staff are very pleasant. Prices are very reasonable. Itsbgreatbto be able to get an all day breakfast. Other thing I like, decent branded condiments in bottles as opposed to sachets, this has a second positive, less packing going to landfill.
