I was not disappointed on my first visit here. Although there were some cons, the experience on a whole was incredible. It was very busy during my visit, which may have contributed to some cons. Pros: Staff are on the high-end. It's been a while since I've been to a restaurant where the staff is this friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere is top quality. It's stylish, colourful, and lively. Seems like a far cry from the rest of Southgate. The food is, simply put, phenomenal. It is well-presented, well-cooked, and so flavourful. The creme brulee stood out the most to me as the one of the very best desserts I've ever had eating out. They're open until late! This is quite rare to see of a restaurant in the area and a very welcome characteristic. Some nights even have live music, although I did not have the pleasure of experiencing that. Cons: All this quality does come at a steep price. Be prepared to really spend in this place. And the biggest con: it took exactly an hour from the time we sat down to the time we got our mains served. It even took roughly 30 minutes to serve the starter, which was simply bread, salad, and a bowl of hummus. Conclusion: This is a restaurant worthy of a stylish and incredible night out. I highly recommend it. The staff, food, and atmosphere more than made up for the slow service during that busy night. I will return for many more times.

Absolutely gorgeous food. We had the ribs, prawns pil pil, Spanish burger and chicken burger. Can't find a fault with any of it. The staff were run ragged because it was so busy but I won't hold it against them.

First time here at duende bar. The food was delicious. Had few starters. Prawn pil pils, chicken wings and chicken kebabs. Everything was so tasty. Mains had cod and chips, steak and fish of the day hake with class. Everything was unbelievably good. Dessert Eton mess. Churros and baileys cheesecake. Very tasty. The girls looking after us couldn't do enough. Definitely will be back. 10/10

Food was nice however ppl who arrived 10 minutes later after we ordered our meals received theirs first. Manchego cheese croquettes were more like breadcrumbed bechamel so hard to say how much Manchego was there. Service was nice, very polite and friendly, especially one lady I recall fro last year - the only person who approached me to ask when I arrived to collect my order (first take away after it was made possible) as no one else seemed to notice me even though I was alone. At that time (about 14 months ago) we were overcharged comparing to their prices advertised online and inside, on the door. Their chicken goujons were inedible vegetable protein mix our daughter didn't touch. This time they seemed completely homemade and she loved them. It looks like it's a hit and miss. Great potential but more attention to detail needed

Duende is a favourite spot for tapas. The decor is great, and is very comfortable. All the staff are very pleasant, efficient and attentive. Food is good, my steak was cooked nicely and with a side of nice chips. The bad was the 125ml soda, that's too small and too pricy for something that small. Not worth knocking a star but it's a cheap way to charge extra on their customers.

Lovely food with some good deals to be had if you are savvy; like 3 tapas dishes and 2 glasses of wine for €20. Note: it’s tapas, so the portions are small. If you are hungry, get the deal EACH. The beef tacos, wings, calamari and patatas bravas are some of our favourites. And they do a great portion of lovely light crispy onion rings!!

Best bar and restaurant on this side of the town. Staff are all friendly and they will go out of their way to ensure that your night is enjoyable and memorable! Lots of good things like - great menu, good beer selection and great choices if you like wine. They have a rioja called Comde Valdemar which is silky smooth and well priced. Shows all the big matches and later you can relax with friends or a date in an excellent setting with live music most nights. Thoroughly recommend you go here.

Hidden gem on the outskirts of drogheda To look at from the outside its an unsuspecting proposition, nestled between a wedding dress shop and a gallery. This place has been growing and evolving for a few years now. Inside there's a grest eclectic mix of interior design, predominantly Spanish (keeping with the tapas theme). There's a full bar of your just after a drink but the food is where Duende really shines, it's delicious, from tapas to its traditional dishes. I've been several times and will go back for sure. Would happily recommend it.

What I would like to say is, stay at home don't go near the place, that is so anytime we go we will get a table. But truth be known, Duende has the biggest buzz, great food,, fantastic staff, and a lad on guitar with some great songs. All I ask is (stay at home folks) so we can always be guaranteed a good table. Top marks to Colm, Amy and team, especially my fave Andrea!!!, We love Duende.
