Reviews of Casanova’s Restaurant In Stillorgan
Great variety on the menu and tasty food! The panna cotta was a delicious choice for dessert & the risotto was quite nice as well! The calimari however wasn't amazing, it was rather ordinary. I'd recommend Casanova's to anyone looking to go out for a laid back meal with family!
Always enjoy Casanova's, kids also like. Steak was a winner for two of them and the other had pizza. Good wine options. Staff are always great, attentive and friendly.
As always everything was perfect. Very friendly and efficient staff.beautiful food and a lovely atmosphere.
I found Casanova’s through a Google search for restaurants in South Dublin and it was a great find! I had a delicious dinner with my son and daughter before facing the drive back to Limerick. Good value too. Highly recommend.
The set menu is excellent for a nice dinner out for 2. We were able to share a starter and dessert along with out mains for a reasonable price. It was perfect for date night.
Edit: Went again with the whole family and they helped us with our 1 year old and were very accommodating to kids.
Super nice hidden gem. Amazing pizza and fantastic fries. Ate pepperoni and dolce vita pizza with some extra toppings, super good dough and ingredients. Super friendly service, cosy atmosphere. Definitely recommend and would come back again! There is car park concomitant right across at the Stillorgan village town center
Large menu with lots of choice, but expensive prices!
Food was okay but not at the standard expected for the price. Pizza base was a bit soggy. However, the portions were generous.
The prices vary between what is shown online, what is on the menu at the entrance, and the prices on the menu we were given. Very confusing! (See images).
Came here by myself as I'm new to the city and don't have many friends yet 😅.The food and staff were lovely , portion size seemed bang on the money. Eating out here in Dublin is never cheap though , cost me €41 euros for 2 glasses of wine, a starter and main.
Went to Aprile’s for dinner. The main restaurant was closed and we got seated at their “sister” restaurant next door (as per a note on their door).
Got 2 pastas, a side of garlic bread, some wine and a Tiramisu. The pasta and garlic bread were simple and yum. The Tiramisu was decent — very creamy, could do with more mascarpone and flavor. Staff was kind, and food was out quick.
I had a very nice meal for two in midweek , I did not have a reservation , but that was not a problem. great service and food and bill came to about 45.00 euro including drinks.
Delicious meal here tonight, shared capri salad, then we had pizza and salmon risotto for mains - perfectly cooked and tasty!!
Excellent service and as we left, it was lovely to see every table filled
Quite average pizza place in Dublin to be honest. Pizza was really average, chicken wings were way too salty and Crostini god knows how can someone pay 7 or 8 euros for that.
My advice would be to just eat Margerita pizza if you are a vegetarian. Can’t comment on the taste of non-veg pizzas but veggie pizza was definitely not good.
Ordered one of the white pizzas for delivery and it was delicious! The delivery was way faster than expected and I got a surprise free drink.
This pizza is a 10 out of 10 really nice full of flavour. One of the nicest I've had in a while.. staff were friendly and efficient if you haven't tried here you definitely should.
Always love the food here. Tasty and great value for what you get. I used to live around the area so I used to go there regularly. Eventhough now after moving, still like to call in here to get food if I pass by. The staffs are nice and atmosphere is casual.
Very casual little place. Plenty of friendly staff. Food very nice. Seems very family friendly. Portions perfect.
Loved it. Great service, food was great except for the wings, slightly too salty.
Great service, very attentive and pleasant. The staff went the extra mile with my son who let slip it was his birthday. We went in on a Monday evening expecting a quiet atmosphere but the place was hopping, which added to the enjoyment. The pizza was top notch, generous size, fired in a stone oven. What more could you ask for!
Amazing Italian food, small restaurant that is welcoming and family friendly
The pizza was wonderful. The place it’s very cozy. Whenever we are close by we stop for dinner.
Speedy friendly service. Good pizzas. Will go back next time I'm in Stillorgan
Best pizza in Dublin 16/18, and they serve real potato chips! Great service too. Thanks for the delicious food.
Delicious wood-fired crispy pizza in this family-friendly place
Such a great spot in the neighborhood. Amazing food and great service and reasonably priced. A firm family favorite for both dining in and takeaway.
Crostini was birdseyeish, however the pasta and pizzas were excellent....Will give it another go as the mains were excellent and the reviews are probably well deserved....the Gents toilets need a little more management and as I'm sure you well know a urinal perhaps.
Wow, guys! The service is beyond expectation. I called to order food for 10 people before the restaurant opens and everything was ready for pick-up as soon as they opened at 5pm. The food was plenty and extraordinary!!! They sent us also extra drinks, etc. 6 stars out of 5. Made my day! Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a very proper, tasty Italian meal. 💚
Went for dinner on a Thursday night and the place was nice busy. Great atmosphere and decor and the staff are friendly and attentive. We got wings to share and a pizza each, we were stuffed and the quality of the pizzas was great, the wings were a little below the average standard but we should have gone for the bruschetta, looked amazing. Would recommend.
Love this place
Great food service and atmosphere
Tasty food. Service is generally good, depending on how busy it is. Very cool design to find the toilets!
Nice atmosphere. Comfortable and staff were pleasant but the pizza isn’t as good as it used to be. Doughy and soggy. Wouldn’t order pizza here again. Would give it another try for another menu choice.
Ordered pizza delivery and it arrived quickly and the pizza was great. You can tell they use high quality, fresh ingredients.
Had a wonderful family meal in Casanovas last night. Food was excellent and service was even better. When we ordered a pizza by mistake with the wrong topping which we were happy to take . They insisted on making a fresh one which was extremely quick due to their wood fired oven. A lovely Christmas atmosphere was present. A special thank you to Dom who ran after us on the street with my daughter hat. Looking forward to our next trip to Casanovas.
Once I tried random and turned to My every week take away place.. excellent pizza.. especially BBQ meat lover one.
Very friendly staff.. quick service even they are crowded in weekends.
Great variety of food choices. We ordered Pizza & pasta. They are delicious and large portions. Friendly staff too. Definitely recommend.
Good food, the menu has a lot of options and set courses are a good deal. Servers were kind and fast. The place is a bit loud. Overall a very good experience
Great place, really authentic Italian Pizza, the services is great 😁🍕
Excellent meal - lovely bruchetta followed by great pizza and arabiata all very reasonable pricing. They deserve to do well 👏
A little bit noisy when busy ,but food and service certainly makes up for it
Tonight I ordered on my way home in the hope that the food would arrive reasonably quickly and taste delicious as usual. The telephone line was really bad and it was difficult to understand the person taking the orders on the other end of the phone. However, I ordered my usual and waited longer than usual for it to arrive. When it did so it was truly inedible. It wasn't the dish I'd hoped for but I was prepared to forego this and eat it but the smell and taste was pretty vile. It was like someone had put bread soda into the sauce. I then telephoned and they kindly said they would give me my preferred dish and deliver it but when it arrived the vegetables that were usually in it were not there and I don't know if it was the terrible smell from the first dish that put me off the second but it remains uneaten as there was far too much salt in the dish.
I'm not sure if I will order again as tonight was a big let down as I'd been so looking forward to it.
Really nice casual dining, was there early and it was very quiet so food arrived quickly. Really enjoyed the food and it's fairly reasonably priced. The only thing I'd say and it's more of a style ting for me was that I really don't like their plastic table cloths 😅 the place is so cute and some nicer table covers would make such a difference. But I will say that all that had nothing to do with the food which was great
Gorgeous food, exceptionally friendly service. One of my favourite restaurants in Dublin and love coming back every time! Special thank you to the wonderful team on Friday who were kind enough to surprise my partner with a birthday brownie :)
This is my favourite pizza place in Dublin, I’ve lived in Italy and spent many summers enjoying the culinary delights the country has to offer. This is the closest I’ve gotten to being in Bella Italia, I recommend the meal for two with rocket and Parmesan on the pizza.
Dishes I'd recommend:
Mare E Monti
Tagliatelle Bolognese
Bruschetta
Garlic Bread
Pizza
Popped in here for a quick bite early evening Friday with the young lad. Service was fantastic and friendly, pizzas were top drawer. There was a great vibe to the place ……Really enjoyed and will be back. Super spot. I’m annoyed I hadn’t discovered this place sooner.
Beautiful food, brilliant service, friendly staff. Lovely evening.
The vibe really is like being on holidays in a European city, was really pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The bruschetta was stunning, with fresh tomatoes and basil, the pasta nduja was perfectly boiled al dente, and I think the pizza was probably the best I've had in Dublin! Gorgeous wood fired pizza, ready to try the whole menu. Dessert was okay, don't think I'd order again, think they're pre-prepared and heated up for service. Crumble was soft and didn't have the crunch and bite you'd expect it to. Panna cotta didn't seem freshly made either. Will definitely be back for the savoury food though!
Great place to bring the family , child friendly, great pizza , pasta dishes are also really good. As for the deserts typical Italian fair , their tiramasiu is huge and really tasty. Staff are attentive and service is prompt which is what you need when taking the kids out for dinner. If planning on eating in , ring ahead and make a reservation.
Wonderful food had, reasonably priced. We were on time and faced a busy restaurant, the manager was embarrassed and explained that our table was not ready but offered us a drink on the house. The pizza I had was a Florintina with caramelised onion. One of the best pizzas I've ever had. We'll be back. Cost for 4 of us was €125. Well worth it.
Ordered pizza with garlic bread chips and calamari, top of pizza was not firewood cooked and was very soggy, peppers on top had no chargrill on it, tasted like frozen pizza, the crust was only firewood portion of the pizza taste wise. Garlic break was cold, a slice of ciabatta cut in half with dash of some butter - essentially toast but not toasted. Calamari were undercooked and dripped of oil, no seasoning. All for very expensive prices.
It's a great spot, staff are very nice and the food is very good. We had the carbonara which was large and filling. The waitress was very attentive and friendly, which was perfect. I bring the kids here every so often as a treat, mainly on a Sunday, but I would go alot more if the prices were a little lower. Overall, I'd highly recommend.
A visit the other day at 5.15 it was very busy, obviously due to the quality of food served up here. The customers were (well some) very noisey. There is a comfortable atmosphere with nice trendy decor and seating. The food and service was excellent and equally well priced. The menu was great and varied (took me ages to make up my mind). The wine selection was also very good. I'll be back for more. Oh, great location too. 20/04/19.
Great food, service and atmosphere for a decent price.
Have near enough been eating here once a month for 3or4 years. Never have a bad experience. There again tonight, an it was lovely.
Nutella pizza topped it all off.
Food is always lovely ,staff are always really nice, and friendly . Very cosey place , enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend
We visited Casanovas with a big party of 16 people! The food not only arrived perfectly in time but also tasted delicious. Thank you so much for looking after us so well. We can't wait to come back again.
Had a meal here with a friend last Wednesday. Absolutely superb and the staff could not have been more courteous and friendly. Highly recommended if you like good pizza and pasta. Will definitely return.
Went here with a group of friends. There was a great buzz around. It was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was lovely. My first time there but I certainly will be back, and recommend to friends.
AMAZING! One of our favorite places to eat while in Dublin, we went twice! The pizza is fabulous and the staff is so nice. We never tried the pasta, but I can't imagine it being any less than superb after trying their pizza. A must go if you're craving wood fired pizza!
Fantastic dinner. Despite being very busy once we got seated we had a lovely calamari and chicken wings starters. Steak dinner was beautiful. Chips were liker chipper chips also 😁
Good food but poor service. The starters arrived promptly but an awfully long wait for the main courses to arrive. It was a Friday night and what seemed to be happening was that takeaway orders were getting preference to our order. That does not seem exactly fair to people who turn up to the restaurant.
Awesome place. The service and food are amazing.
Even dropping in for a collection, the warmth of the reception is wonderful. Philomena Aprille would be proud that this is being delivered. Lovely. Thank you.
Delicious food and good value, I got the 2 course meal offer which comes with a glass of wine or beer. Plenty of choice on the menu with a wide range of pizzas and pastas, including vegetarian options. The service was fantastic, it was very quick and the staff were really friendly. I ordered the lasagne which came with either chips or garlic bread.
The pizza is very nice the texture was great and the taste is lovely.... I would make the souce more stronger and add more herbs to it like... thyme maybe to make standing out more but.
I loved the service it was very nice.
The tiramisu was light and lovely.
We ordered a take away on Friday which took so long to deliver it was quite cool on arrival. The pizzas were very nice, they lack the stodgy cheese covering so make you feel a bit virtuous. The main complaint was that our side was left off even though it was handwritten on the docket. This proved disappointing to the person who ordered it specially. We rang to let them know and got a text to say we would be refunded but as we paid by cash and the amount was minimal, we knew that would probably not happen and as of two days later, there has been nothing returned. As we were going to just give the driver the money back if he turned up, we are not complaining about the money but more about the missing item. Coincidentally, the last time we ordered which was a good while ago, the same side was left off that order. In cases like these, a money off voucher should be offered by email against future purchases.
A bit of a hidden gem, this Italian restaurant gives the ambience of a more local Irish crowd than restaurants closer to Dublin's city center.
I highly highly HIGHLY recommend the bruschetta and capri salad appetizers.
The pasta dishes we tried (spaghetti with oil and peppers and the bolognese) were a bit bland but still a nice, warm dinner.
Loved the food! We ordered risotto and pasta and it's well served and for a resonable price!
Also the staff was amazing! The waitresses were lovely and very attentive. Will definitely come back
The best place with best Italian food.
The food is undoubtedly amazing but the service is something i have never experienced before.
Don’t even think twice before visiting this place, just go for it.
Love love love.
The food was good and so was service, the sitting area was a little packed and congested and hard to move around otherwise all good 👍
We had a family dinner in Casanova's this week and (as always) it was amazing. Perfectly cooked Italian food, a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. 5 stars.
Competent rather than dazzling food: chicken wings are well seasoned and spicy, but the pizzas are surprisingly thick and doughy. Chocolate brownie is a feast for the eyes, not so much the palate. Prices fair; service excellent.
The restaurant is ok, food is nothing special definitely not an authentic Italian restaurant but it's not bad, you can get a good deal with their special menu (around 25 euro 2 courses and glass of wine). A little bit to noisy during the weekend but nice and relaxed atmosphere during the week. Let's say it wouldn't be my first choice but it's alright for an easy night. The service is very good the waitresses are always nice and quick.
The food and atmosphere in the restaurant is A1. Garlic bread was fresh and crispy, The BBQ sauce on the wings was a small bit overpowering but that was just my opinion, the carbonara was really creamy and tasted great. Overall a great experience and would definitely go there again.
Great value for money! Authentic food, been a few times and everything we get is always delicious, staff is great too :)
Very good pizza place, thin and crusty. Quite big portions. They also have a kid menu and some drawings for kids to color. Unfortunately there is no elevator so it's difficult to get in with a buggy.
Can't comment on the food - which we were excited about trying! Booked table on OpenTable, arrived at restaurant to be bluntly informed that all open table reservations cancelled. In fairness email sent an hour before but a call would have been nice as didn't check email because was on way to restaurant! Has left us with nowhere to go on a Saturday night as a result. Can appreciate restaurants under severe pressure but would have been nice to have got a bit more notice considering it's unlikely we will get to enjoy a meal out now having booked Casanova's yesterday. Hope to try food sometime soon. [Edit] understand restaurant had technical issues with Opentable. No harm done just disappointing not have meal - will try another time :-)
The service is really warm. The food is beyond words, we love to eat there every time that there is an opportunity.
The children menu is really our hit. My daughter loves every bites of their food.
We love it here. The food it amazing. Very good value. Good portion sizes. Staff are always very responsive and friendly. They work great as a team and that makes your visit special. Love love love.
I came here before lockdown and absolutely loved my meal so I treated myself last weekend to a home delivery. The food came so quick and it arrived piping hot! I forgot just how amazing Casanova’s is - large portions, affordable, and big menu to choose from you can’t go wrong!
Lovely restaurant Hidden upstairs amongst the shops opposite the stilorgan village (shopping Centre).
Staff were very friendly and attentive.
The food was very good but not quite 5 stars, hence the 4 star rating.
Definitely recommend and good value for money.
Good italian food but nothing special. It's a bit pricey but the portions are pretty large, so if you take that into account when ordering it's alright. Overall a very reasonable choice if you're feeling like Italian food. Only big letdown was that Peroni was the only choice available for beer.
Great local restaurant. Very busy ( which is good) but that makes it very noisy. Great staff who work very well under pressure.
Lovely Italian food served here. I've been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Lovely staff that will look after all your needs. Usually quite enough to get a table with out pre-booking.
Food was lovely, the staff superbly nice and the local feeling of small place with families and all was the best for a cold rainy evening. Local discovery to come back for sure.
Ordered wings, ravioli, garlic bread and a pizza for collection. Ready on arrival, all piping hot and delicious. The pizza base is thin and crispy with a tasty tomato sauce and just enough toppings and cheese. Ravioli was lovely, wasn't sure how it would travel but it was cooked aldente and tasted restaurant quality. First time ordering from Cadanovas and certainly wont be our last!
I just love this little Italian restaurant, the food is superb, and the staff are very friendly and the service is excellent. And for the atmosphere you feel like your in an a little Italian restaurant in Italy.
Deffinatly will back
A great local pizzeria, eat in take out all 5☆
Review based on a red pizza, carbonara, ravioli and penne salmone pasta. Overall tasty but nothing special and if you like al dente pasta I would advice to emphasise that when ordering as the one we received was overcooked.
Very tasty nice staff and serving
Great early bird which runs all evening offering a wide variety of the usual and different Italian food. Their beef and prawn pasta for instance is excellent and worth a try. The house wine is good and of course you have to try thr Tiramisu. It's a small busy restaurant so if you want a quiet chat it's not the place but the atmosphere is relaxed and you there is no rush to eat and get out.
Fantastic restaurant with the most pleasant staff. Amazing food never disappoint you. Absolutely love it.
Great atmosphere, attentive and very friendly staff and all wore masks at all times. Good distance between tables and on going cleaning between table changes. Next best thing to being in Italy.
10oz ribeye cooked to order and perfect. We could tell from the second it was placed in front of us that this was prime succulent beef. The pepper sauce, served in a separate sauce boat, had just the right amount of tanginess to lift the flavour of the steak. With a bottle of 14% Barbera d'Asti, this was the perfect antidote to a cold and windy night outside. The rich chocolate cake dessert, served with chocolate sauce, cream and ice cream was scrumptious. Service very friendly and efficient, our first time to visit this restaurant will most definitely not be our last.
Not much more to add that hasn't already been said. Great place for family dining and their sauce and pizzas are amazing. The pictures shown on here are indicative of what you should expect. Trying their delivery tonight!
We ordered a take away and the delivery was very fast. The pizzas and the rest of the food were really nice and the restaurant threw in lots of freebies, which was such a lovely gesture! Thank you Casanova!
Really great staff, very friendly and efficient. Food was good.. Restaurant was very noisy, it was hard to hear what people on our table were saying.
Best pizza in South Dublin. Fab sourdough and wooden fired to perfection. Loved the interiors too even though not in the most attractive building. Pity for the fries smell.
Amazing service and delicious food! It was quite crowded when we visited this place, but still the service was excellent. Loved their Margherita pizza and garlic bread.
when you look at it from the outside, you might not think it's good. they have the best meals, friendly staff and affordable price, can't recommend enough, I'm definitely going back there. good for kids too.
