Good value for money! Fun set menu with great produce for a good price. All in all great value for great food, will want to come back. Great flavor with good wine pairing, but was missing that extra ‘oumph’ of flavor intensity in the dishes. As soon as the place started filling up the service got significantly slower, which led to an inconsistent experience. The staff was really kind and knowledgeable but the service did get slow and inconsistent.

Service is excellent as well as the main dishes (monkfish and lamp/mushroom). The presentation of the food was as expected very striped down and to my liking. Entrees are very good but I miss that special punch of intensity or just a little more salt to stimulate the taste to give this 5 stars. Desserts were very good. Overall, due to Guide Michelin rating, I expected even more intense flavours.

I've been meaning to do this review since I was in the restaurant in October 2021 but kept postponing it. But I had to come back and do it because the restaurant really deserves it! I was there with my husband and we had the a combination of the regular and vegetarian menu, as we were not eating meat but were okay with sea food. The athmosphere is cozy, the decoration is clean and altough the place is small and it was fully booked we felt very confortable. The food is absolutely amazing. We enjoyed everything of all the dishes, the flavours were really well elaborated and different from anything I have tasted before. One of our favourites was the little cake for dessert that had a smoked cream on top, it was absolutely amazing. Can`t wait to go back and try a new menu!

Ate here recently and really enjoyed the experience. We were seated at the high stools by the bar/kitchen area which we didn’t mind, but might not be for every diner. Staff were really friendly and warm. Food was delicious and very interesting throughout. Special mention goes to the trout which had a damson (I think) lacquer and was finished under a grill. One of the best fish dished I’ve ever eaten.

Amazing 7-course dinner. I do not like oyster nor do I enjoy eating venison but I made an exception to try it and I was not disappointed. Tastebuds were all over the place ! The only disappointing things was the bread and butter so really nothing bad. Great staff that know their stuff, very professional yet funny and kind. We were absolutely full after the first dessert. Highly recommend!

Had an excellent lunch here yesterday with work colleagues. Opted for the €45 tasting menu which I thought was very good value. The food was superb and service was attentive yet not intrusive. Highlight of the lunch was the Oyster snack and Cod main. Coffee was good too. A very enjoyable experience and I will definitely be back.

Bastible is an amazing place in Dublin that you should never skip when visiting. The staff is super friendly and carefully explains every single detail of the absolutely tasty courses. Make sure to take the full menu to indulge into an unforgettable experience. The food is amazingly displayed and the various flavours are absolutely amazing! My favourite so far was the spicy beef and the lamb neck - but all other things - whether just the cheese platter or the dessert have all been absolutely stunning. Make sure to give this place a Michelin star soon!

Big sister to Clanbrassil House, this place serves up incredible food and has a fantastic selection of Aperitifs and an extremely knowledgeable staff who walk you through everything! Have been wanting to dine at Bastible for a long time - unfortunately it was not the great culinary experience I was hoping for. Whilst mostly well executed, most dishes lack imagination and originality. Don't get me wrong, the food is solid, but that's it. What was truly disappointing though, was the interior design and lack of flair. The furniture looks like poorly picked IKEA, chairs are uncomfortable and the bright lights make you want to leave as soon as you've had your last bite rather than stick around for another bottle of wine...or two. Sad to say that I won't be coming back.

Amazing food! It really looks like an art and actually it tastes very well as well! It took 2.5 hours for all the courses to arrive ... And plates are relatively small. We finally had the takeaway Bastible last night. It was so worth the wait. It really was excellent and while I might describe meals as very good I reserve excellent for special meals. This was special. The pops of taste in the trout starter were just right. The lamb turnover as part of the main was divine. As for the dessert - chocolate - it was a light as air. One of our bubble who rarely has dessert she said she would easily have eaten a second. High praise indeed. Well done to all the staff for producing this. We will be back in person as soon as we can get a reservation!

Got the meal kit last Saturday evening. Instructions were clear and very easy to follow. Each container was numbered and directions for each course precise. From the bread and butter to dessert everything was delicious and being lamb lovers we especially enjoyed the shoulder of lamb main course. Sadly I didn't do it justice with the plating but that didn't distract from our enjoyment. We enjoyed eating in the restaurant before lockdown and look forward very much to doing so again when we can. Thanks to all involved.

Heard amazing things but was a little disappointed. We felt the tasting menu just wasn’t thought through. We were served langostines and had to eat it with our hands (fine) but given nothing to clean up with. Then came spicy chicken (delicious) which we were supposed to eat off the same plate that had our lobster juices on it. The lamb neck and fish were amazing but were served with yogurt, potato bread and a jalapeño sauce which confused us. The other dishes were okay but there was no flow to them and overall we found they paid too much attention to the technique of the food and not the actual flavour. Everything looked nice and was fermented this, fermented that, but just felt like it was missing a flavour. The service was quite good, you’d just expect more for €48 per person.

Good food - definitely about quality over quantity. The atmosphere is warm even though the decor is a bit industrial. This is a meal meant to be enjoyed over time rather than a quick bite, in my opinion. Good for dates and catch ups and a bit on the more pricey side.

The Sunday Chefs menu was the most exiting food I have had in Dublin. The main Trout glazed in Quince and it’s condiments was sensational. Possibly the best main I’ve had with Gooseberries, smoked yoghurt and glazed Boxty bread. The service was attentive and servers friendly, clever and passionate. It’s far cheaper than anything else of this caliber and we were left completely satisfied. Great job team.

However, I found the atmosphere sombre and the service overbearing and unfriendly. 3 different waiters approached our table to ask us questions within a minute of each other which felt like we were being rushed along. My husband and I finally went to Bastible tonight after living in the neighborhood for two years and saying "we've got to go there" everytime we pass by. I regret not eating here sooner! We had the Christmas chefs menu and everything was absolutely delicious. Flavored perfectly and we'll portioned. We'll definitely be back. The Christmas cocktail was delightful too!

Very disappointing experience in Bastible last Thursday. We chose to have the Taster Menu. The lowlight of the meal was a round of barely cooked turnip - specked with what might might have been bits of beetroot. The tastiest, maybe the first morsel, was a slightly cooked single oyster. There really was scarecely a meal in these paced servings, most of which were single mouthfuls. Our wine, although excellent, was topped up for us far too regularly. In the absence of/waiting for food we drank and ate more bread. When I suggested to the waitress, we would help ourselves to the wine on the table - someone else took over shortly - keeping our glasses full. There was a real lack of flavour in the food - and not a green vegetavble in sight. This was the most expensive meal I have had in a long while - I would have been happier with a warming bowl of pasta neapolitan to go with the delicious wine at a fraction of the price. (€68 per head) And something sweet and tasty for dessert - rather than some rather small, unmemorable puree thing Added to that - there was an unmerciful draught at leg level. The place was chilly.

When you enter the place it does look promising - nice industrial interior design, friendly staff and good atmosphere. However the food itself, at the least the choices I made, was unfortunately on the disappointing side. The starter was no more than OK (nicely presented though). The main course wasvery disappointing. It had absolutely no flavour. I tried to add salt but it didn't help. I will say though that the staff noticed that I hardly ate any if it and offered me to order another main course, I chose not to. The we're very good and did not charge us for my main course as well as gave us a complimentary decert which was lovely. The menu changes frequently so I might give the place another chance.
