Reviews of Canal Bank Cafe
Excellent pub/restaurant. Perfect Guinness pour and proper prices. Wings and fish & chips were on point. Some of the best I had in all of Europe! Def will visit again.
Best Irish Breakfast I've ever eaten. Great staff as well!
Outstanding food, composition, products and tastes, enjoyed the Cauliflower and the dessert special
Excellent Pub/Restaurant , Great Food and Loveable Taste .. Not Much Veg Options but the taste was amazing . Desserts were also good , Overall a great experience , i felt the prices are on a bit higher side , but would definitely visit again for the dessert
Excellent meal, always! 5 stars for the burger, chicken wings are the best in Dublin. The sundae is also excellent. Brought my family and my father, who said it was first class.and he is hard to please!
Amazing food very tasty and presentation was excellent. Will definitely be back my next trip to Dublin. The peanut butter brownie was the nicest brownie I've ever had. Staff very nice and the service is great.
Really cute, great staff, food was average. Menu sounded promising but...met. head around the corner to the little kitchen. It's phenomenal!
Calm and relaxing atmosphere, delicious food
Fantastic food , great service and very accommodating staff. Plenty of choice on the menu and with exciting takes on dishes. Highly recommended
Found this great little spot
I had the cauliflower soup Indian style out of this world and a chocolate brownie ice cream I could have had 5 portions it was so good but felt my sugars hit the roof after but was so so good
The staff were so friendly and should be working for the Irish tourist board even though they were busy the y were attentive
Great place you have keep up the great service
Well done 5 stars
Located at such pretty area near the canal. The cafe is spacious but comfy, the food and coffee tasted so good. The coffee cup was a little small for one...
Absolutely loved it ! The staff are incredible , thank you guys . The food was sensational , wings and than had Mexican salad and it was unreal . Rasberry mojitos WOW 🤩 and hot fudge sundae …… loved it .
Incredible food! We had a cheddar and bacon burger, and the pasta of the day (linguine with chorizo and chili sauce, arugula and parmesan. It was fantastic, and the servers were friendly.
I’m not big on burgers, but this burger was awesome- it had a tomato chutney and pickles red onions. So good!
The pasta was our favorite part. Such complimenting flavors, and a nice portion too!
I love it hear and nice views from the windows. Good food and drinks along with super nice staff.
Very good experience. The place is cozy, the food really great, with a choice of daily specials. Highly recommended. Make sure to arrive early or book in advance.
Lovely wee place. Had a fish platter for starter excellent. The salmon salad was massive and really tasty. Staff very friendly
The place is great, the food is good nothing more to say. Highly recommend the chicken wings and the French toast with bacon (brunch menu).
Dublin’s best wings. Staff are super nice and helpful.
Very enjoyable night, gorgeous food, lovely staff and a great atmosphere.
Great staff and lovely food. Ideal for a quick bite or light lunch
Really nice and cosy ambience, good food, slightly pricey but worth it overall. One of my favourite places in Dublin for breakfast/brunch!
Hope they open soon and don't change the menu! :)
Lovely! And was open when all the restaurants around were closed.
The food we ordered for breakfast was delicious and good value for money. The place is comfortable and service is quick and friendly.
Amazing service and good communication between the servers :) Food was lovely !
The food was excellent, the service was wonderful. We definitely recommend this place, and if you go there you have to order hot wings.
Had food there this evening fantastic value.
Excellent service and friendly staff , not too in your face like some places.
Wings are definitely the best in Dublin ,
And lovely draught beer i will be back.
Lovely comfortable atmosphere with very friendly welcoming staff. Decent selection of beer and wine. We shared a very delicious chicken wing starter, fried to perfection with nice hot sauce. My wife and I both went for the burger and they were kind enough to replace the beef with a southern fried fillet which was top notch. Amazing cocktails as well, highly recommended.
Wonderful food, gr8 service. A must when in Dublin.
Fantastic as always. Love the wings when we visit.
Thanks for the flat white ..😉 Will definitely be back for food 😋
Chicken wings were UNREAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Defo top 5 for best wings in Dublin for sure! We’ll be back 💕💕
Good sized portions. Delicious eggs Benedictine’s. Dairy free milk options. Decent coffee. The place is bigger than it looks from the outside. We were seated immediately. Quick service.
6 of us had Sunday brunch. We found it hard to decide as all the options sounded lovely. We ended up ordering a mezze plate, wings, club sand , halloumi flatbread and a farmers plate . Everyone was delighted with their choices everything was delicious. Staff are polite and efficient. Coffees are on the minature size but this seems to be a Dublin thing at the moment. All in all would highly recommend.
Absolutely Super food and atmosphere. This is how a Breakfast should be. We popped over this cafe as it was 2 mins walk from our hotel and we're glad we did. We had the Eggs Benedict which came with a huge piece of tender ham. A truly superb hollandaise sauce and poached eggs cooked to perfection. The Chef are really knows what they're doing. So the next morning.. we came back again.. and again the next day. And then.. we had to leave Dublin. 3 out of 3 repeats.. That's how good this place is!!
Although pricey the portions are v healthy indeed. The club sandwich almost lasted me the day. Clean and chic interior, waiters aren't very chatty but all-round a nice experience.
I absolutely love this place. We found this place while waiting for our Airbnb to become available. Our waitress, Barb, told us we could stay as long as we needed. She was so nice and accommodating. The food is outstanding. In fact we went back a couple times. Atmosphere is great. It is a must if you’re in the area.
Lovely little place, great space, staff wonderful, friendly and nothing was too much hassle. The Eggs Benedict was near perfect and the coffee was top notch. Will definitely be going back next time I'm in Dublin for my breakfast.
Good food and fantastic service. Ordered a pan fried salmon served on green veg and white rice on the side. Rice was a little dry but the rest was very nice! Service was excellent and I ended up paying less than this dish would usually cost because they'd incorrectly priced it on the menu -when I pointed it out they were exceptionally cool about charging me the lower price.
Only ever ordered the chicken wings here, but they are consistently amazing. Staff are very accomadating at short notice. The desert menu could do with an overhaul. But one of the best chicken wings in town.
Amazing food and a great vibe. Could not fault our meal we had here and the staff we really lovely and attentive. Definitely would love to come back!
Nice, comfortable cafe near the canal. Good service with friendly staff. Flexible attitude (have had a couple of meetings over coffees and they're happy to oblige and put you somewhere a bit quiet if they can). The omelette is fantastic!
Having only tried the omelette (every time I eat there), I can't comment too much on the food in general but the selection seems good. The White chocolate trifle with berries is also a must - absolutely delicious.
Reasonably good coffee. Reasonable prices.
Overall strongly recommended!
A good place to have breakfast or brunch.
Have been there several times and was never disappointed!
Try the huevos rancheros - simple and delicious.
Had a full Irish breakfast. Going back for dinner tonight. Service was really great. Nice atmosphere. Great location. Good prices.
Been in Ireland for 5 months now. Best full Irish in the country. Also best OJ.
My wife and I were on our honeymoon and stayed at the Leeson Guesthouse just down the road. The Canal Bank Cafe has a truly delicious Full Irish Breakfast and a great assortment of other casual dining options. For about 14 Euro there's sausage, bacon, eggs, black and white pudding, and the most incredible butter/sautee mushrooms you can ever get. Service was friendly and the place accepts American credit card, for any fellow Yanks that choose to stop in. I hadn't thought to read about tipping customs in Ireland and ended up providing a lavish tip mistakenly. No regrets, great food.
Got the wings.
So delicious and a huge portion size, basically a main. Ask for extra hot sauce if you're a fan of wetter wings.
My friends and I have eaten at the canal bank cafe several times. We have had the food from the lunch menu and found it to be fantastic. The atmosphere is quaint and friendly. The service is excellent.Today we were served by a gentleman by the name of Declan, who was very friendly and personable. I highly recommend this brightly lit cottage for lunch. Try their local beer either the Coopers Pale Ale or the O'Haras Pale Ale. Both are excellent if you enjoy a good brew with your lunch.
Lovely little cafe, just lacking that little extra!
I ordered a medium cooked steak and it came well over cooked. I would have told the staff a lot earlier but no one came to see how my meal was and I was hungry so I ate what I could.
Great casual dining, great cocktail menu and sound staff. A firm favourite for many, many years.
This place has a reputation for great Chicken Wings, and they do not disappoint! They were delicious, and quite a large basket full of them. The ribs were also amazing.
Cafe is an excellent choice for speciality food however if you are looking for an great set of buffalo wings it may be disputable. In my opinion they tend to be a bit overcooked but the set is very generous. I will probably come back.
The food was very good. The onions on my steak were amazingly tasty. My only complaint is that I ordered rare and it came about medium.
What a great cafe. Fantastic food, staff excellent. Love the menu here. Very popular cafe. Felt like we were abroad.👍will return again.
Somewhat of an institution at the stage, the Canal Bank was once at the vanguard of Dublin's food revolution. Tasty, smart, casual and well done. Delicious and perfectly executed wings set the tone. Try a burger or salad or generally anything on the menu as the Canal Bank consistently hits the mark. A tad pricy but hay.
Love this place... healthy, wholesome, tasty food in a really nice atmosphere. So good we came back a second time.
Perfect dinner in this site. We ate chicken salad and a great fish and chips, the sauce was so good. Fast and efficient waitres service. Greetings from Spain!!
Very good breakfast, brunch and dinner. These guys do it all. I'd recommend the wings. Make sure you book in advance
Have gone a couple of times . Food was amazing the first time but just hasn't lived up to it since . Still a lovely place to go and eat
...serious location and brilliant food and service, if you are lucky enough to get a window seat enjoy the frenetic pace of traffic passing by as you relax with a nice bite and maybe a drink also, try and leave time to visit O'Briens across the road if you can... enjoy!
Food was great, atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Staff were rude and accusing when a mistake was made with our order. I felt it was very condescending and unwarranted. Left a sour taste in my mouth
Quick brunch had in this quaint cafe. Lovely steak sandwich and omelette. Pricey but great food and nice location, so fair.
Oh my goodness, whatever the choice
the food is delicious 😋
I have experience all ( bar shellfish not my thing)
I have never been disappointed, always coming back for more. And,the staff are charming, and friendly. Siobhàn Walsh
Amazing place to have brunch with friends or family. The staff is very friendly. Ordered chicken wings, chicken sandwich and chickpea flatbread sandwich
Food was excellent, lovely atmosphere and waiting staff friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.
Another place in Dublin that does chicken wings well. A little bit inconsestent compared to its competitors TriBeCa and E & C but still pretty good. Nice buzz about this place and a good location at the top of Leeson Street
Had brunch here, food was nice but the service was terrible. Tip for staff, once the food has arrived and we ask for our coffees three times, don't be hostile, just sort it out.
Lovely place to stop as you walk along the canal. Super soup, coffee and sandwiches. A little pricey but service was great and no rush to leave the table
Amazing food, great service what more could you ask for. Highly recommend.
Had a fantastic meal here on Sunday! Really beautiful delicious fresh food. Highly recommended
Love this place. Stylish decor with great food, friendly atmosphere and terrific staff. Professional, attentive without being overbearing. An absolute favourite of mine.
Highly recommend the chicken wings!! Absolutely top class. Great service and friendly staff. Will definitely be returning soon.
Their Grand Canal cafe bloody Mary's were delicious! Food is top notch too. Try the Jack McCarthy black pudding. Proper black pudding.
This is my favourite place for brunch. It has a charming interior, friendly staff, nicely priced options and very tasty food.
Amazing food, definitely the best wings I've had, bit on the pricey side however.
#1 Best Wings in Dublin 💯
Love their chicken wings and mussels, but our last visit wasn't as good as always..it was a Christmas madness in the place and we found a service a bit slow and food not as tasty as usual..can happen...but we will be back after New Year!!
Great food with really friendly service, wings are a must have!
great food, atmosphere and service!! would definitely return. one of the best restaurants I have eaten at so far in south Dublin
Loved this place. A great find, lovely food, staff & atmosphere! Highly recommended
Delicious coffee, friendly staff.
Great service and food. With good cocktail menu and amazing chicken wings
The menu is comprehensive and the food is consistently good. The staff are friendly and efficient. Great location. Highly recommended.
Chicken wings are legendary. Service is top class. Extensive wine selection. Very well trained staff
Eggs Bennie delicious!! And the orange juice is FRESHLY SQUEEZED!!! Wow. Had 2 glasses...cool staff too.
Lovely, tasty and imaginative cooking. Daily specials. Good friendly service. Nice ambience. Highly recommended.
Best chicken wings I've had in a long time. Overall a great place. Highly recommend.
Great atmosphere, great food, excellent staff. Well recommended.
Really tasty food and good atmosphere, friendly staff.
The chicken wings and cocktails both were excellent and generously proportioned. Definitely worth a visit.
Everything is just right. Food, seasoning, portions, service. Desserts alone are worth going for. Everything you want in a Sunday afternoon.
Great place for a sunday brunch
Nice menu with a good variety of dishes from sandwiches to salads
recommended, but do book in advance as it gets full
Good food. Good service. Reasonable price. I was seated in a draft. Otherwise great experience
Great food and drinks menu
With a brunch menu focused on cocktails, I wouldn't really call this a proper cafe. It's a restaurant in a small venue.
Party of 15, catered for all, food divine, large portions, service was 10 star, will definitely be back!
Extremely nice place. Stepped in while waiting for the bus, and was amazed by great food and service in an elegant setting.
Excellent brasserie. We enjoyed it so much we returned several times while on our holiday.
Super night out at Canal Bank. Cocktails were superb. Food came in very generous portions and was fantastic. Tables well spaced. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Went for brunch, people were queuing waiting for it open. Food and service excellent. What's not to like?
Great sauce on the ribs. Salads are large and delicious, and the staff is very friendly.
Nice place and one of the best chicken wings in Dublin. Much better than in trebeca
Good brunch place, professional staff, I highly recommend the wings to share :)
Lovely staff and cosy atmosphere. Amazing chicken wings, way better than Elephant&Castle or Tribeca
Unbelievable wings. Great brunch and terrific service. 5 stars across the board.
Very nice place, staff are friendly and helpful, chilled out place for brunch as it's not very noisy
The food was lovely, paid nearly 30 euro for a steak at lunch time which was a little small for the price
Great place nice mix of food for all tastes 5 out of 5
Good service. Reasonable prices. Great meals. Chicken wings!!
Good food, incredibly busy for a Wednesday night and helpful staff.
Good food, helpful service. One of my favorite brunch places in Dublin.
Really nice place lovely food and service. The best fish and chips youll find anywhere!!
Great variety and quality food, very friendly staff!
One of the best restaurants in Dublin!! Can't miss the famous chicken wings - best in town!
Greatlocation and convenient with bags as there is a lot if room inside. Nice food too and most importantly its always clean.
Food and ambience was great. However, the review reflects the service which I felt rushed and very anti-baby.
Slightly above average. Poorly cooked steak. 2 meals out way later than the others
Great food, prompt service and lively ambiance
Excellent menu service staff and food
Lovely food with a nice atmosphere. Friendly staff too.
Good food, nice staff, a little lacking in atmosphere.
Wonderful little restaurant. Gave us shelter and great food despite a hurricane in Ireland
the wings are a must - huge portion so be ideal for sharing!
I went for brunch and ordered the full Irish breakfast. What a great way to start off the day!
Good and fresh seafood. The best advertising is that you always have to book a table
High quality full Irish breakfast. Very friendly staff.
Friendly service, but the place gets super noisy. And I wasnt that impressed with the food.
Wonderful wings and even better service. Thanks a million for a lovely lunch guys!
Bit of a cliche to say, but the wings are fantastic. Great french toast too.
Busy spot. Nice staff. Nice lunch menu good service
Exquisite food in an ideal location, pints are nice also..
Just go there and get some of their buffalo chicken wings. You won't regret! 😉
Great food with good pricing. friendly and efficient staff
Best Chicken Wings in Dublin very cheap as well compared to other places
I felt this place was a bit pretentious. The breakfast deals were quite pricey and not out of the ordinary.
Good casual place with fast service and the best chicken wings in Dublin.
Tasty food, brunch and dinner; good space; and nice staff
Delicious chicken wings
Poor service. Food good though. Huevos rancheros and nachos are good choices!😀
The wings win every time. Black margarita if your feeling something strong with a punch
It was amazing!Staff are polite always kind ussualy i'm going there every week
Best local ever...especially Sunday's with the girls
A great little eatery with a good atmosphere. Go for the wings.
Easy menu, great chicken wings, burgers and cocktails
The once legendary wings have been surpassed by other joints around town.
We wanted to drink coffee outside there one day but was waiting for 10 minutes and we seen unhappy face of waiting staff guy ( we came 20 minutes before closure) and we decided to leave without coffee.place seems nice and posh clientele.seating inside and outside

Good views, decent WiFi.

Nice place to have a fresh and good breakfast. The staff is welcoming! We returned there several mornings in a row.
Location on a busy street, around the corner from the Clayton Burlington hotel. Great food, that's what people pay for. Staff was not very friendly during our visit.
Very good restaurant. We had burgers which were very good and plentiful (15€). Very kind staff. Really had a good evening!
Very warm restaurant with very attentive servers and dishes that are as beautiful as they are good!!! I recommend without hesitation!!!
