Had an amazing dinner at Hang Dai while visiting Dublin last week. The food is delicious, as are the cocktails! The aubergine dish and prawn toast were particular standouts.
I love the decor, the subway cars are a really fun design. Wait staff were also fantastic, very friendly and attentive.
Overall I'd definitely recommend, it was one of the best meals I had during my trip to the city!

Absolutely loved Hang Dai, already can't wait to go back. Delicious food, lovely people working there and one of the best takes on a whiskey sour I've ever tasted. Now that opening hours are back to normal I'm looking forward to being there all evening to experience a DJ set.

I have always ordered sea bass from restaurants but I never get the full fish, as a foodie that I am, full fish is required!!!
My first time at this restaurant and I order this seabass 😍😍The taste of this fish was incredible, size was perfect, taste was well spiced to perfection plus It was so fresh as well.
Definitely my new found restaurant❤️🔥❤️🔥

Hands down the best Chinese restaurant in town. Great vibe, service and drinks but what really stands out is the food. Excellent food, with lots of options for anyone.
P. C.
Very tasty food in a cool, almost club like resraurant. The dishes we tried were great, especially pork cooked over fire with hoisin suace. The side of their special rice was a perfect match even though I would prefer it to be more seasoned. The sesame fried toasty is an absolute must. The coctails were excellent too. They do bring dj on the weekend so I expect it gets pretty loud at the time.

Food here is delicious and some of the best Chinese food I've had in Dublin. Staff are very helpful and passionate about the food. Nice selection of drinks and upbeat music which makes it a great place to go for an occasion. There's huge variety on the menu and has something to please everyone.
I would definitely recommend the cheeseburger spring rolls. Just be careful when booking to ask for a booth. We had to eat at the bar which isn't ideal but not a major fault. 5 stars overall.
T. E.
Probably the best Chinese restaurant I have tried in Dublin! The Pork dumpling were amazing and the Mapo Tofu comparable to what I have tasted in China.
The place itself is really cool, a very surprising mix between a US dinner vibe, Chinese place and disco atmosphere.
Super recommended!!

What a pleasant surprise to walk in this restaurant expecting standard European Chinese food and receiving some of the most authentic bites cool Dublin has to offer. The appetizers - in particular salads are just to crave for (20 ingredient salad - woooow) and this is even veggie friendly. The mains also impressed with unusual yet super tasty spicing. Go for either Duck or Iberico. Make sure to check out some of the beers the menu has to offer - tasty local brews available! An absolute must go in Dublin.

Hmm... where to start?!
Pretty cool interior design (but not pretentious cool) extremely consistently friendly staff and awesome food which was authentic in taste. Very unique experience and a kinda hidden gem on Camden st. LOVED this place. We were only in it for a couple of hours mid week, but the hospitality of the staff, the general atmosphere and the delicious food... definitely, without a doubt one of my favourites.
The music... wow! The cocktails... woah... (I'm lost for actual words at this point!)
You're kinda transported to another realm and you forget that you're actually still in Ireland.
Its hard to put it into words... like, where else in Dublin can you have fresh oysters and chicken wings in a fluorescent, neon, futuristic/dystopian looking subway/underground train booth...?! 🤷🏽♀️ IKR!!
Sophistication and cool had a baby and came up with this place! 😁
Highly recommended and will definitely be back. Try it.
You can thank me later!

Best food I’ve had in a long time, great vibes, excellent and fast service, the staff made everything in their power to attend to all our needs. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!
S. L.
Great Chinese restaurant with high quality food and hipster style! I loved how the authenticity married the sophisticated revision of the traditional taste!
F. T.
The cocktails are crazy! Crazy good and sweet. We tried the chicken satay and it was very authentic. The cheeseburger spring rolls - wow! Literally like eating a cheeseburger in a spring roll, an interesting combo!
A. C.
The food and drinks were good but it wasn't anything to write home about. The bathrooms were very disappointing, the bar seats were very uncomfortable to be eating dinner on, and it's just not the experience I would expect at that pricepoint. The one saving grace was that the service was really good.
J.
Such an amazing and unique experience, right in the heart of the city. Some of the best food i’ve ever! Atmosphere and interior was something else. Hidden gem
M. M.
Wow. Probably some of the best food I’ve had in Dublin. I have to call out that it’s not cheap. But the quality of food and impeccable service makes up for that. The atmosphere indoors one of a kind. We waited to go here when we could dine indoors and it was absolutely worth it. Great beer selection too.
S. Z.
One of my favourite restaurants in Dublin. Great food, atmosphere and tunes. It just has it all and the food is finger licking. Special rice is a must and whenever we go they have a different menu that never disappoints. Get cheeseburger spring roles if you are there.
C. O.
Lovely experience, small menu but everything was delicious. Generous portions!
M. D.
Food was amazing! Staff were so helpful and welcoming. Would highly recommend 👌 👍 👏

Hang Dai transports you out of Dublin and reveals taste buds you never knew you had. A mouth watering adventure that traversed pleasure to the point that it left myself and our group so satisfied it was painful (the good kind of masochistic drive for pain whereby you wanted more but you consciously know is not physically possible). All staff were attentive and genuinely warm. Excellent knowledge of their menu and allergens too. Catered for nut and egg allergies flawlessly from the floor staff to kitchen to plate. Most importantly, the food was tremendously satisfying (get the whole duck and try the brain!) but overall, the experience from the moment we entered and were greeted to the equally friendly and warm farewell was so painfully pleasing that I cannot wait to return to try the rest of the menu. Many restaurants can learn from the experience here. Superb!
S. C.
Food here was amazing, cocktails were divine! Best ribs we've ever had, so good a member of our group went back for them take away 2 days later!! Duck wasn't available as we hadn't pre-ordered which is a great excuse to go back!
B.
Super interesting decor and a good range of dishes, even if we were expecting slightly more based on the price and the good reviews. The dishes we tried were all well executed and unique, although none of them were a major standout. I'd return if I was with a group and we wanted a night out with drinks, cool decor and tasty sharing dishes, but probably not if I just wanted authentic food. The duck looks like a pretty awesome experience for a group as well.
D. M.
Was really looking forward to this but it was expensive and disappointing.
The chili & salt prawns (strangest prawns I’ve ever seen) and dry fried spiced pork ribs the most disappointing.
Staff were friendly.
If you’re unable to walk up quite steep stairs ask to sit downstairs if that’s an option. It wasn’t for my group.
B. F.
Really nice restaurant, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend the wood fire cooked duck, you can pre order this as it’s popular and they tend to run out. Great drinks menu and the cocktails are very well made
J. W.
Absolutely fantastic lunch on Saturday. Tremendous food and service in a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment. Try the prawn toast, it’s an inch thick with full prawns! The KFC is amazing, thankfully nothing like it’s namesake!
J. S.
Terrific dishes here especially the lamb kebabs and the fried rice. Best tasting lamb I can remember. The ribs are not to be missed. Great people watching on the sidewalk while you eat.
S. O.
Wow!! The food and service were both top class!! I was there with friends and all agreed it was, by far, the best Chinese/Asian food we had ever had!! Thank you so much!! I recommend the duck!!
L. F.
Hidden little gem !! The food, atmosphere and cocktails are A1. Not a huge beer, cider or wine selection but that's what makes it so authentic. Highly recommend, will be back !!
R. V. S.
Perfectly cooked! From the scallops to the quail... delicious, not the best value, but lovely experience. Staff was quite helpful and kind. Sorry about the photos, lighting wasn't great.
Y. B.
Our cocktails and starters were delicious but the mains were very disappointing. We had a Lobster balls special which was very greasy and a lot of spices/aromatics completely masked the lobster taste. The monkfish dish was very sweet and the dough was quite tough to chew. The atmosphere & staff were great but I felt like the food was very expensive for the quality. I really wanted to like this place but can't unfortunately recommend it.
D. C.
Just brilliant. Second time here. Everything was literally brilliant. Thank you to the floor and kitchen staff. I'd live here if I could. Xxx
J. S.
Absolutely phenomenal food, we didn't reserve and no tables but we went to the bar upstairs and ordered food. It was absolutely spectacular, food melted away from any bone it was from, it was very balanced but bold with any fatty meats countered by citrus notes or zesty rinds. Would highly recommend to all!
J. B.
We wandered in here on accident and decided to stay. The atmosphere is wonderful, the music, waitresses, cooks, just everyone was awesome. The portions are big enough to share for two+ people. The food was amazing and we loved the music and the vibe. They are well known for their duck and their DJ music on the weekends. You can actually watch them roast the duck in their fire oven if you're into that. All around, it was really just a really good experience.
P. O.
My friends and I really enjoyed a wonderful meal, and superb vino. The duck is a must have. Starters also brill.
A. S.
Really nice choice of food, good service and fair prices as well when compared to some of the options out there. Would recommend.
N. M.
Interesting food. Particularly liked the pork wonton and its sauce, delicious really. The braised cod was interesting but flaming hot, should have read the warning I guess but my wife's pork belly was also too spicy. Too bad there is no dessert, it would soothe your palate after such fiery inferno!
S. B.
Lovely food and very friendly staff. Had to sit at the bar but that was my own fault as we booked so late in the day. Would definitely recommend 👍🏻
M. D.
Very recommended! Nice staff, nice atmosphere, good music usually, small and intimate. Not romantic of course.
Get the duck! You'll thank me later :-)
Only real issue is that the menu changes often enough and you can't really plan ahead based on your previous visit. Also the cocktail selection has been going downhill.
E. M.
Unique setting, amazing food, you must try their speciality duck which can be pre ordered. New bar upstairs with fab cocktails and super friendly staff!
H. R.
Great food. Friendly staff. Don't forget to try the duck. If you like dumplings then for sure go for the pork dumplings they serve.
G. W.
I've been to Hang Dai a number of time. The duck is incredible but you need to order a number of days in advance. Most recently, 11 of us were well accommodated and everything was served together which I know is difficult with a large group. 100% recommend and will definitely return. If you're looking for a table at a prime time, I'd suggest booking a few weeks in advance. I guess that is a testament to the quality of the place.
S. C.
Incredible dining experience for groups. Our group of 6 pre-ordered a whole duck which was served to us in three courses, and we also had a few more small dishes and a main. All the food was excellent - interesting flavours with really fresh produce. Our hostess and servers were enthusiastic about recommendations and making sure we were having a good time. Will definitely be back, not least for the post dinner dancing!
S. N. B.
Menu is pretty small and not a massive amount for vegetarians but what I did have was incredible.. salt and chili tofu was like nothing I have ever tasted and the cocktails are to die for!
R. M.
I had takeout from Hang Dai last week with my companion, and it exceeded my expectations. The reviews both on TA and Google were all over the place, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The drinks were good, and the the dumplings and beef satay were simple yet flavorful -- the biggest hit of the meal. The duck appetizer was well prepared. The dirty duck friend rice was good, but by that time I was too full to appreciate it. I would love to dine in, and see the whole show the restaurant puts on once Ireland decides to let us out of our homes.
The person working the phone, Patricia, was nice and helpful.
I would say overall the food is enjoyable and perfect to soak up the booze while being entertained.
E. B.
Great food - tasty and big portions
Atmosphere is really cool
Would definitely recommend the place
S. S.
Really enjoyed our dinner here. little pricey so wouldn't be my casually pop by restaurant but definitely one to try for an occasion.
O. F.
A fantastic night with beautiful food and our waitress was lovely and very helpful will definitely be back especially for the sesame toast yum!!
G. G.
Delicious food and nice cocktails. Will be back soon :)
D. H.
A delightful new spin on an old cuisine.
Hang Dai is an upscale restaurant/bar that doesn't serve the same old "chinese food" we've all had before. It does come at a cost, but let me tell you, it's well worth it.
Don't forget to check out the cocktail menu, the "Hang Dai Sour" is divine!
E. S.
Delicious Chinese food! Highly recommend the dumplings and the duck and to eat on the balcony in good weather.
T. P.
Proper authentic Chinese food, and very friendly staff. An awful shame they don't serve draught beers..
w.
Such a brilliant evening at Hang Dai! Anna was such a brilliant host and she went over and above to ensure we were well taken care of. The food was outstanding. Loved everything about this place ❤️
F. O. (. d.
It’s not often that you take the first bite of a meal and it puts a smile on your face. But this happened to us in Hang Dai twice now. Food is unbelievably delicious, waiters are doing their best to make you have a good time. We enjoyed the experience (again) and will come back.
p.
Friendly staff, food was quite good, bit pricey but thats ok. Menu online and in the restaurant is different.
A. O. C.
The lobster is insanely good!My favourite spot in Dublin!Such a great vibe and lovley people!
T. W.
We (party of four) had the speciality duck, sizzling lamb, oysters, langoustines, red mullet, dumplings and asparagus sticks with kimchi. The lamb was sensational and the food overall was excellent.
Audiophiles will appreciate the super slick sound system and the neon lit Tokyo subway style table compartments were very cosy.
D. C.
What a place! Treat yourself. Staff are gorgeous and food is amazing xxxx
E. G.
Delicious food and drinks. Great staff and lovely atmosphere. Reasonably priced.
J. T.
Delicious beef satay and surprisingly interesting drinks for takeout. The dumplings were superb as starters. I had seen this place so many times before but never really got in... The third lockdown got me feeling adventurous and I couldn't be happier about that decision.
A. D. R.
Food was great but menu and tiny plates were infuriating. Hard to relax and enjoy a meal when the rice and main dish wouldn't fit on what was essentially a saucer. Menu confusing which is a shame because the food itself is, as I said great. Prawn toast and asparagus sping roll alone made the visit worth while.
R. P.
I went to Hang Dai for a celebratory dinner. I had to book a table a few days in advance for a Friday dinner at 1700. The service was excellent. The staff was very attentive. I highly recommend the food and the drinks. I ordered the Hang Dai sour and the Double Fried wings. The ambience was lovely. There was social distancing markers and all the servers were wearing masks. 10 out of 10.
B. B.
Great contemporary Chinese restaurant in the middle of Camden Street. Hang Dai is all about modern Chinese food, their speciality is a full duck to share - delicious. This is all paired with great tunes and a cool decor that looks like an underground train station somewhere in Asia. Definitely worth a try.
F. K.
Excellent Chinese food. Not like your normal restaurant, food and decor so refreshingly different. Really tasty, great presentation. Service excellent, informed and helpful.
A. C.
Very good food, the prices were fair, although the portions were quite small.
K. R.
Best Chinese food ever! ❤️
S. D.
Great service and extremely polite staff, but I think the food is quite expensive for what it is.
E. H.
Ordered mapo tofu and it was extremely salty, they apologised and took it off the bill without asking.
Visited hang dai again and it was perfect this time. It’s one of my favourite restaurants in Dublin not only because of the food but also the great service.
T. G.
Lovely, tasty food. Great music and atmosphere.
J. P.
Absolutely incredible. Too good for words. A restaurant really worth it's salt.
E. M.
Food is fantastic here and the cocktails are spectacular. The decor is really cool too.
K. K.
Actually disappointed especially after the reviews describing the taste of dishes as so exceptional. Ordered the prawn toast because it was mentioned a few times. Okay dish but nothing to remember or desire again. Also had the vegetable noodles which tasted very oily, I am big fan of oil in food so if you get to the point where I don't want it, you've done something wrong. The overall taste reminded of canteen food, I ended up throwing it away because I don't have patience for mediocre food. In total a waste of money and a lesson to not listen to reviews. I am not ruling out the possibility that other dishes of the menu are better but what I had want very promising.

Had never heard of Hang Dai until my brother decided to get me and my missus a voucher for christmas. Upon hearing that you eat seated at a counter if you are a party of two, I was skeptical. However, the three members of staff we had dealing with were fantastic. The positive attitude of the barman in particular was great. My fiance has a severe dairy allergy and when she informed the barman he made sure that all the waiting staff knew. Onto the food: I was delicious. Portions were great and it all tasted fantastic. It was quite pricey but again we had our trusty voucher but i would have had no issue paying for the meal we had. Hopefully they will get a bigger venue in years to come. We will be back.
C. O.
Lovely decor, very pleasant staff. It was a little close seating for my liking. The food was very tasty but expensive, a dish of dumplings in sauce was around 11. We got the half duck with pancakes, the cherry hoi sin was epic, the pancakes and veg were great too, the leg meat was tough and chewy however and the duck skin was not crunchy. I enjoyed it but I felt it was far too expensive.. and I went on a voucher.
A. N.
Cheeseburger Spring Rolls... need I say more! The food is unreal, staff are on top of their game too, great atmosphere while we were there for outside dining
J. M.
Absolutely unreal, get the Buddha salad!
M. F.
Excellent food, great starters and some of the nicest Duck I’ve had in a long time.
K. R.
Eclectic decor and amazing pan Asian menu cooked to perfection.
C. W.
Good as ever, would appreciate a bigger menu in the future.
A. V.
Delicious, entertaining updated take on classic Chinese dishes, with superb inventive cocktails and a rotating crew of strong DJs. The regularly updated menu speaks to continued innovation on the part of the head chef. Intimate tables and thoughtful decor complete the vibe.
I really enjoyed my evening here, and suspect it's hard to order anything wrong from either the food or cocktails menu. Highly recommended.
C.
Really great take on Chinese food. The staff was very knowledgeable about the food served and were great a recommending dishes. One of the better Asian places in Dublin for sure! Also the cocktail the bar tender mixed after asking what flavours I like was spot on!
T. B.
Unforgettable! Food, cocktails and service were excellent
L. P.
Absolutely love love love this place!
Prawn toast and dumplings are always ordered and never a fail. The prawn toast is so delicious, thick and flavoursome. Of course you have to order half the duck for a main this comes with a soup and pickles and all the trimmings, it is a massive portion but one two could nibble on for a while. Staff are always so pleasant and helpful
O. C.
Oh good god.
I always come back here when I'm in Dublin.
It's loud, fun and not to forget.. delicious.
It's easy to run up a large bill with booze and lots of small plates. But totally worth it.
They have a cute bar upstairs that is great for a pre dinner drink.
It's always quite busy at the weekends, so book a table to avoid missing out.
The menu changes every time I'm back but these trips are few and far between.
The kitchen is in the front and it's quite fun to watch the guys cook.
Staff are super friendly and the host on the door (any time I've been) is a super charming lady.
Z. S.
Came across this place on accident. We absolutely loved the atmospheric combination of Chinese and disco. Helped that the food was delicious too! I had the spicy pork cheek which was described as hurt your feelings, and it definitely lived up to that! But I soon got over it and enjoyed the whole experience so much. If we are ever back in Dublin, I know we'll come back here first thing. Everything - wait staff, food, and atmosphere - is excellent.
L.
An extraordinary experience. The restaurant is designed like a subway carriage. The staff was friendly and helpful. The wine was excellent and great music too (live DJ). The food was delicious but the duck was wow. You have to order the duck in advance (apparently, the day before, although not listed anywhere) and book a table. It's nice to discover such places in Dublin.
G. S.
One of the best asian restaurants around. definitely has the wow factor with the interior. Good for dates etc. Fantastic cocktails. Food is superb!! Love it!
Q.
One of the best Chinese restaurants in Dublin. The roast duck is just a must it's done perfectly and in my humble opinion the best in Dublin. The sweet and sour chicken was great as well with a sweet tangy homemade sauce that is a million times better than other out of can sauces served around town.
Highly recommend the place.
L. G.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Hang Dai! We were there on a Friday night in late May for our second visit. The music, ambience, and cocktails are classy. As usual we had pre-ordered the whole roast duck- it was spectacular! The prawn toast, pork dumplings, and spring rolls were delish. One of our group is vegan and had plenty to choose from- her spicy tofu main was excellent, so we all stole some! We headed upstairs to the Gold Bar for more cocktails after dinner- the drinks menu up there is a little different than in the restaurant. Other than that, it's a perfect venue for chilled-out chat with drinks & nibbles.
S. N.
Had great expectations but ultimately disappointed. Some dishes (cockles, dumpling starter) best avoided. Good buzz, special rice and pork cheek dish tasted good. Wish I’d gone for the duck 😕. Probably best for a small plate and cocktail experience
S. R.
Fantastic meal. Really enjoyed myself. We went for the half duck and it was phenomenal. The house fried rice was the highlight of the meal. The cocktails were great as well. The atmosphere was really good. We were sitting in a subway train style booth which was very cool. Really enjoyable meal.
A. M.
I haven't actually dined in since the pandemic but I've ordered take away twice now and the food is excellent! The white fish in ginger sauce and kung pao chicken are outstanding. Looking forward to dining in when they reopen, would highly recommend
S. Q.
The food is amazing and staff very friendly and attentive. We had the sesame prawn toast, pork dumplings to start and both were delicious. We shared the stir fried fillet of beef and a portion of fried rice and was more than enough for 2 people. Definitely the tastiest Chinese I've ever eaten.
r. e.
Wow wow wow we loved this little gem in Athlone town very colourful . Dining room situated upstairs with plenty of tables. Great choices of food to cater for all palates even the kids had plenty to choose from. There selection of craft beers was really good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great value for money. I recommend booking a table as it can get very busy
E. I.
Nice atmosphere, music not too loud. The food was good. I love getting a selection of food. I had soft shell crab, tiger prawns and super special fried rice. Even the vegans and coeliac I was dining with were well taken care of.
And the staff were very helpful and friendly.
C. B.
Service v good. Food very well presented & very tasty. Menu short but interesting. Location v good & music was great after hours. 1star off for value for money, bit expensive for amount you get...Highly recommended though apart from that
A. C.
we went here on a January sale voucher. Great value. Ordered from regular menu unlike voucher deals in some places. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Food was great. House wine was a very drinkable Sicilian red and not overpriced. Our shared starters of chilli and salt squid, a bit to hot for me but not my partner, and warm scallops with pickled vedge were delicious. We opted to share the half duck served with pancakes, cucumber and scallions. The skin was nicely charred and the breast was thinly sliced rather than shredded. Tasted very morish. Very busy with a great buzz. We will be back without a voucher.
B. C.
Had a few starters to share with friend. Spring Rolls, Dumplings, Special Noodles. All of it was excellent and lovely twist on the normal Chinese. Really enjoyed the food and it was very reasonable. Great spot. Will be back to try the Duck at some stage.
k. q.
I've never tasted so many amazing dishes in one place. Every dish was a party in my palate. Not sure if I can eat anywhere else in Dublin from now on.
G. S.
Great staff, excellent food and fab place
K. C.
Food was excellent. Great at catering for people with food allergies. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Only downside was sitting at the bar, but as we had not reserved a table, this was understandable as there is limited seating space. Would definitely go again.
S. M. S.
Every little detail was important. Loved the place, the food, and the service was brilliant. The bartenders were really nice.
A. K.
When you work all the time in the Industry you don't get to see every place that you need to. So after a good while open I get to go. The interior is amazing and what they've done with the limited space. Very Asian New York. Insane sound system, VERY tasty food and Cocktails. And the bar and floor staff are funny, engaging and made the experience. Bring a first date and definitely get a second because you picked this place. LOVED.
J. T.
This is my favourite place to eat in Dublin right now. The atmosphere, the style and the service are all perfectly pitched and you feel welcome and at ease the moment you walk in. The bar staff know their game and the tunes are always going to be top notch. But the food... From the soft shell crab, which we order every time without fail to the duck broth or whatever their latest creation is, you can tell these guys love what they do. Karl is an incredibly talented chef, not only putting his unique twist on traditional recipes simply bursting with flavour but coming up with new concoctions that will have you wanting to order everything in sight. Every visit he’s trying something new and it’s a joy to watch as well as taste. And if you like spicy food - genuine, hurt your feelings levels of heat - this is the place. At least after you’ve eaten all around you, you can hit the dance floor to undo some of the damage.
S. F.
Always a great experience going here. The staff are so accommodating and it's just so reliably consistent in it's quality of food and drink. That's always a sign of a great restaurant. I haven't even mentioned the decor or sound system yet...
M. M.
Went here for dinner this evening. Really good food, Kung Po chicken being the standout. Not if I'm a huge fan of the menu layout (they recommend sharing) and it's a bit unclear how much to order, but can't fault the quality. Really funky decor and good music too.
H. P.
Decent place, staff was nice, food was Allright, 4/5
J. M.
I been here a couple of times and think it's worth the visit for anyone at least once! Their signature applewood smoked duck is a beautiful dish, it arrives at your table sectioned into the crispy parts and perfectly sliced peices of breast to go in your pancakes. The starters are great, though some will strike your visuals over your tastbuds (squid ink noodles). All in all, a little more pricey than I think it should be, but great atmosphere, great staff, and great experience.
G. C.
Wow! What a unique and awesome experience! Service was excellent and the food was outstanding. I can't wait to come back. Kudos to the head chef who drank Tequila with us and made for a memorable evening.
C. A.
Had the €50 set menu, which I thought was quite pricey - being honest, it was all a bit average. I’m a big fan of Neon down the road and feel it’s better value. Nice for a one off experience as the concept and decor is interesting, but won’t be rushing back.
N.
Best Peking duck I've ever had. Other menu options were less interesting (the apparently changed the menu recently and it became less interesting), and cocktails were average, but Peking duck was ideal - very tender, full of taste, amazingly served and overall just superb. Pricey place, but worth it for a nice occasion
J. J.
It was only OK. Not sure what the hype was all about (probably paid for!). The duck was nice but not worth €40. It was a little nicer than a normal Chinese takeaways duck, but not worth 4x the price. It was expensive, the staff were only OK and nothing special. It's too expensive for the quality of the food. Your €40 would get you a much nicer meal elsewhere
M. V.
Food is great! Delicious recipes. Loved everything I ate (didn't try the duck). Plus, nice tmosphere, that really gives you the feeling to have traveled somewhere else. Restaurant isn't too loud.
P.
This place is a gem!! Wonderful duck and very, very tasty starters (though a bit salty I have to say). Very cool atmosphere and friendly staff. Check out the bar upstairs if you have time and definitely book a head for the restaurant as it is always busy!
E. J.
The duck was definitely worth it. Great selection of drinks. Starters a little small on portion size and pretty pricey. Overall a nice place but you can definitely get Chinese food that’s just as good and better for much cheaper elsewhere!
S. C.
One of the best restaurants in the city. Authentic food, unique and exciting cocktails, great atmosphere and some of the soundest and best staff in Dublin!
N. E.
Delicious cocktails.
K. M. G.
Fantastic Chinese, great atmosphere and unbelievable food. Highly recommend
D. M. C.
Lovely experience. The ladies at the desk were in control and v friendly. At the table they explained the menu perfectly and set us all at ease. The food, wow so good. A great experience. Go there, go there.
K.
Love love love !!! They can do no wrong. I miss hang dai (covid)Great spot for a dance . Recently got the half duck disco meal take away as a bday surprise dinner and holy duck.... I was blown away ... Never experienced anything like it . Divine . (Check out the deals on their website) portions were unreal! Upgraded to a disco meal and got two mind blowing margaritas, two cheeky shots and to top it off a wee lil usb disco ball. Bday boy was seriously impressed . Thanks hang dai ! See ye in December . 🦆
d. g.
Very tasty good quality chinese that's very different to your run of the mill Irish chinese restaurant! Only thing is some dishes are very oily and salty
D. T.
Food was lovely - a little different but really tasty. Wine was great. Staff were so friendly and helpful - Linda in particular could not do enough for us. Really great atmospheric
F. O.
The Hang Dai is my go-to when I have friends coming to visit and willing to taste delicious asian food.
The ambiance is amazing, with the ''retro neon train'' effect, electro music, nice & efficient waiters. Beware though: it can get pretty busy / noisy on the weekend at night, only ''down'' in my opinion. This also means that you might want to book several days in advance especially if you are more than 2
The food is simply excellent. The duck is their specialty and I order it everytime along with 2/3 other dishes (everything is to share) which are delicious (I recommend the dumplings and the pig's ear)
G. L.
Amazing food, amazing cocktails and lovely staff!
R. M.
I have only been there for lunch - its expensive but well worth it. The quality of food and refined taste is second to none. I had a deep fried chilli Aubergine dish - it was out of this world and I'm still dreaming about it. Highly recommend. Still looking forward to getting a seat at night here.
I. P.
A hidden gem, you could easily pass this place on Camden Street. Food is wonderful. Staff very friendly and helpful. A little pricey in comparison to other chinese restaurant, but you can order to suit your pocket. Seems to be very busy, you would need to book a table.
T.
The restaurant has great interior. It is very interesting and it looks more as a club decorated as a tube than a restaurant. Very nice concept. The food was ok. The starters were really good especially pickled dock eggs. We tried this for the first time and really liked. Also I recommend scallop ceviche, duck gyozas and chinese salad. We tried duck and it was ok. Nothing else, just ok. Maybe a too over pricy for what you get. The staff was friendly and because place is new and different you need to make a reservation.
A. T.
Nice bites but small portions. Decent drinks but somewhat pricey, pretty solid overall.
j. s.
Incredible food and a very realaxed vibe. Well priced and great portions. All in all an overall place. Serves great cocktails too.
C. S.
Portions too small. I didn’t give ye less than 5 stars as didn’t want to bring down your rating as food is good. Went on a Sunday for dinner and had to eat dinner and pay for dinner again an hour later. Feed more and you will bring in more customers. Lovely food though.
D. P.
Private dining room and chinese family style meal was delicious as we managed to taste lots from the menu.
S. G.
Good food, great vibes, great cocktails
P. U.
Great food incredibly tasty and interesting dishes. Finally a good Chinese! Great music and cocktails, very friendly staff. Really enjoyed it. Not cheap it's really a treat!
F.
Brilliant, was here for a friend's birthday recently it's a great choice for a group. The food is all amazing and brought out on small sharing plates so everyone gets to try a bit of everything and it makes it a bit more social too.
L. L.
The duck of this place is out of this world! Also +1 for the scallop ceviche. We reserved in March, it was worth the wait. Also the bartenders make good cocktails (although I'm not a big cocktail fan). The style is similar to 777 (same owners btw), so great place for sharing or before going out.
C. S.
Very nice place, the waiters really help you understanding the menu when you have allergies which I really appreciated. The food was lovely and unique, we had a great time!
A. A.
My Dog loved it!!
We went for a delicious meal on Thursday. Food, drink and service all 5/5.
Took a few left overs home for the dog and he's been drooling since.
Thanks again.
R. D.
Great Asian food in the heart of Dublin - has a great "Bladerunner", futuristic vibe going on. Wonderful cocktails. Is a tad overpriced, but hey, I come from the west of Ireland. I definitely recommend and have been several times as the experience is worth it!
C. H.
Love these guys diversity, had an early dinner , visual, tasty, and fun.. lets not take ourselves to seriously, its about the experience ,great cocktail.... no sweet but as all good Chinese , an after eight. I will be back for the duck and will pre order Well done a fun place....
J. H.
Dodd is absolutely gorgeous. I’ve ordered this a few times too and it always arrives piping hot and fresh.
A. T.
Food is incredible, but get there early or else you'll be squished!!! Way too many people are let in past 12. You can't dance and enjoy yourself! But defo recommend it ( on a thursday!)
K.
Absolute winner on Camden Street. I kid you not, this places is the best. It's a combination of a neon bar, a restaurant and a night club. Stylish and delicious asian food, metro alike seats, great unusual cocktails, and funky black toilet cubicles with Grace Jones poster, where they always seem to play hip-hop. On weekends there is a DJ playing in the corner.
K. M.
What a unique restaurant in Dublin , really authentic Chinese food catering for all tastes including vegetarian options and superb cocktails. Needs advance booking as always busy here but you do get top class service also
m. d.
Great respect to the owners who are courageous enough to introduce nouveau Chinese dishes to Dubliners who may not be always experimental with new flavors, and to the young Irish who are not afraid to span out their dining experience. All the food we had was delicious except the udon noodle used for cold noodle dish was not the best quality. They should use a Japanese product for less doughy and better texture. If cost is the object, they can replace it with freshly chilled (not sitting in the fridge for a long time) rice noodle. The disappointment was a complete lack of dessert in the menu. They have NO DESSERT in the menu. It is not difficult to prepare chilled desserts which do not have to be prepared on the spot if the concern is the lack of kitchen workforce. They also have a very limited choice of tea, either green or mint tea. The owners probably don't recognize the importance of tea. It is one common thing granted all over the world including Ireland.
K.
One of the best restaurants in Dublin. Unique decor, best soundsystem in the city and incredible delicious food you haven't had anywhere else. Book well in advance!
R.
Just go. Amazing.
E. O.
The ambience is amazing, the food is tremendous but the cocktails.... This isn't just going out for a meal, it's a night out you'll be telling all your friends about after.
R. T.
Good music and good nightclub, great djs play here.
J. O.
had heard alot about this place so had to check it out, the staff were very friendly, the food was good but not exceptional, maybe I should of tried their speciality the wood fired duck. the menu was expensive and I would have rather spent at an upmarket chinese for the same price.
C. H.
By far one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time! The duck is out of this world. Our waitress Hannah was an absolute delight. We can’t wait to come back
c. s.
Great food, super friendly staff and real nice atmosphere inside.
Also love the fact that the kitchen is open and you can greet the chef on the way out
e.
Very good food and staff, also interesting design and environment, this Chinese restaurant is so different from others. Definitely worth a try! The 60 hour beef is like a dream, soooooo delicious!
A. O.
The staff are fantastic, I mixed up the time of reservation and showed up 30 mins late but they were so nice about it and we weren't rushed at all. Food was incredible and really reasonably priced. Will def be back.
P. R.
Staff were great and friendly, wasn't expecting much looking at the menu options as would not normally pick food like that, but one of the nicest meals I've had with amazing taste, I'd highly recommend 👌
K. O.
Better than average Chinese food. No MSG is a plus. However it was pretty expensive for what you get and the tables are very close together so feels very cramped. The service is also a bit hit and miss.
C. S.
Funky place with great food and really good cocktails. Can recommend the Hollywood 7 😁
A. L.
Fab experience, always recommend it to friends! Get the duck!!
R. M.
Interesting atmosphere, certainly different to any other place I've been before. Nice food, all completely new for me. I liked the cocktails.
A. M.
I loved this restaurant. Fun interior - not at all what you would expect from the entrance. The food was delicious, however I wish the duck had been a little bit crispier.
G.
Really enjoyed it. Service, food and cocktails were all great. Was really happy with the knowledge of the staff with adapting dishes to become vegetarian.
P. S.
It’s a really cool place and the food was nice. But it’s that type of place where you only go once to see because everyone is talking about it. It’s so dark inside and the music is too loud for it to be a local restaurant you’d go to on a regular Friday night.
k. d.
Great food! A little over priced for shared dishes (we we're a large group with a set menu). Nice place
A. K.
Cocktails that taste like cough medicine and over-spiced food. Service was great though.
L. L. C.
Great spot , very stylish and funky restaurant . Absolutely loved the food and the cocktails. Had a great time . Definitely be back . Highly recommend it here for food and cocktails
S. B.
Food & Drinks were amazing, our waitress and the bartender were both lovely and very helpful!
A. R.
Excellent food , great service ! Little gem on Camden St ! They also have a full bar for cocktail !
M. M. G.
You must book and definitely have the duck! Quirky spot, not a big menu which is refreshing for a Chinese restaurant but everything they do they do well!
a. “. M. m.
Lovely take away from here last night top of the pops best take away food in dublin . Can't wait for the restaurant to open back up .
Highly recommend.
N. O.
Great food, great cocktails, great staff. Highly recommend this place. Booking essential as it's always jammed.
M. B.
Excellent food, amazing service. Would be good to have pictures with the options to assist with choice.
S. G.
Chinese food. Good but not as good as I expected. Most of the plates are spicy with a lot of dressing/sauce. The restaurant is nice (looks like street a train or something) with a really good dj on the evening I calme, saturday. Loud music.
S. D.
Excellent food. Authentic Chinese dishes, and great staff.
A. A.
Fantastic roasted duck, and really nice food experience overall. The place looks quite special as well. Recommended!
K. M.

P. R.
My new favourite restaurant in Dublin
K. M.
Delicious food ! Reasonably priced
C. G.
Some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. Comparable to Mission Chinese in Lower East Side of Manhattan, the dishes are combine authentic Chinese flavors with modern twist.
J. H.
Good grub, cocktails and friendly staff, job done.
G. P.
Funky decor and great ambiance, you have to book a month in advance. Food is a little too salty for my taste though - consider asking for reduced salt.
D. I.
Fabulous food, lovely service, too much loud music. Although I did get to hear Robert Palmer's "Johnny and Mary*.
K. K.
Great setting, great food, really hard to put down the chopsticks
J. F.
Amazing food, great vibe. Feels like a scene from Kill Bill. Very social eating and unique food for sharing. Order the duck in advance!!
C. L.
Usually very good, just got brunch menu where the portions are smaller than usual at same price, felt they could of explained this point
M. L.

Wow really great food, just be aware you may need to book the slow roasted duck ahead of time to guarantee it is available.
B. K.
Cool place with nice bar and dine scene. Good food probably a lil too expensive.

R. M.
Great food at reasonable prices, nice staff, with funky music and decor. Cool cocktails too
N. O.
I freely admit my bias... but- you'll be hard pressed to find a place to rival Hang Dai for sounds and supping in Dublin
M. M.
Pretty cool place. Looks like a Chinese take away from outside but excellent cocktail bar and sounds in behind the curtain!
C. M. G.
Unreal take away food. Every dish is whopper. Really can’t recommend it enough.
C. S.
