Have a really nice meal here. We ordered the bread as an appetiser. It was amazing. Then we had the vegan risotto and the vegan lasagna. Amazing as well. And we finished off with the vegan brownie. So good. I’d recommend this place to anyone, really. Portions are nicely sized, and the food tastes amazing!

Looks nothing from the outside but looks great inside. We went there for lunch and booked the table beforehand a day. We had the set Christmas lunch (3 course) with starter, main course and dessert for 28 euros. The quality of the food is really good. The quantity is quite big as well. The restaurant is very clean and they have taken good precautions for the covid situation as well. It was nicely decorated for Christmas so you will will get a positive Christmas vibe.

This little spot is my absolute go-to for a perfect Italian! Definitely the best Italian in Dublin hands down. I was here last night and got the buffalo mozzarella salad for a starter and the burrata neopoletana pasta for main and it was just exquisite. The staff are absolutely lovely and so friendly, so accommodating as well. Thanks for a great night ❤️

Despite the name, it’s no longer a wine bar! A small group of us booked in yesterday evening for a glass of wine between our show and another restaurant. When we made our order though, the server came back and said we could either order food as well or leave, because they were too busy to serve just wine and that the wine bar option isn’t available anymore. It was a really disappointing (and kind of bizarre) experience, especially the borderline aggressive reaction when I pointed out the name needs to be changed and a visible notice placed on Open Table / the website. However, I’ve been here a few times and really enjoyed it! Great vegetarian options. Just a shame about the wine bar!

Lovely lunch and so easy on the wallet ! We bought a groupon voucher and booked a two course lunch . After the starters which were very good my husband had lamb shank for main course and I had an amazing risotto . We both felt very satisfied with the servings we had and were amazed at the quality offered for the price we paid -Well done La Caverna ! We will return for sure !

Our second visit today. Starters of garlic prawns and calamari, both very tasty. My partner had Lasagne for main course. It was a generous size and bursting with beef, sauce, and flavour. I had the risotto.... it was sublime. Huge portion, a flavoursome mix of rice, chicken, asparagus and mushrooms, I could not finish it . One of the best risottos I've had. Accompanied by a nice house red it was yumminess in the extreme . Service was friendly and efficient. Thank you La Caverns staff, well done. We will be back

I was surprised that they didn't check my covid cert at all, then they sat us in a fairly tight little basement space very close to other tables. Everyone had to edge past our table to get to the bathrooms and staff didn't mandate masks when customers were moving around. Our table was also tiny and didn't have space for food + drinks so our water and wine were balanced precariously on a narrow border along the wall. Having said all that, the food was nice and reasonably priced. Service was good and we didn't feel rushed.

The food was excellent (with a small exception with the side salad, which was disappointing). The steak was especially delicious. Service was very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, I found the atmosphere a little "sterile". Wanted to be seated downstairs, but that was full. I think it is much nicer and cozy down there. The upstairs dining area was a bit too formal and not very fun (after all, you should be having fun in Dublin!). A minus point for the bathrooms. VERY DIRTY and it seemed they weren't cleaned for days. If you have a nice restaurant, don't forget the washrooms.

Italian restaurant in Ireland. We were looking for something different after 2 weeks in Ireland and saw the pictures of the "cave" and food online, so decided to try. After confirming our reservations we were able to get a table downstairs. It was a nice atmosphere, warm and inviting. Staff was nice and attentive the whole time. Unfortunately most or the appetizers were like all the other local restaurant and not Italian, so we stuck with the fresh bruschetta. Our pasta plates were very rich and tasty and was satisfying portions. As for the wine, again in this restaurant like all the other restaurants, it was served hotter than room temperature. Wine should be chilled, like a wine cellar or recommended, so we had to ask them for an ice bucket to cool it down. Over all we were happy with the food and the restaurant (see our pictures) and hope they keep improving as it could be the best!

Excellent service with lovely food! We were served quickly, offered water and were never pushed to purchase drinks. Pizza tasted great and had plenty of toppings. I wasn't going to take a photo but half way through thought it deserved a photo as it was just so good. Would definitely go back.

I brought my boyfriend abroad for his first time and on his birthday and started communicating with Monika at La Caverna months before my arrival. Not only did she go above and beyond to make custom requests for me to make his and my night special but the food and our waiter waiter Lucas were outstanding! Best vegan lasagne ever Good vegan options in general in central Dublin / temple bar area I had lasagne with garlic bread and salad, all tasted great, lots of layered veg and very authentic. I probably over ordered as I was stuffed afterwards but I couldn't not get garlic bread to dunk! Also, vegan and organic wines available Wish I'd stumbled accross it earlier and I'd have been able to report on the vegan pizza too I have this place saved in my list and I will come back again!

On the last night of our Ireland trip we needed a change from Irish stew, so we ventured out for some Italian food. We happened upon La Caverna, and were very lucky that they were able to squeeze us in on a Saturday night without a reservation. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly, plentiful and attentive. The pizza was delicious, and more than enough for one person. My only gripe was the ladies restroom upstairs... you needed to climb a narrow flght into the attic to a tiny facility. But I think this is a common theme in Ireland.

Love this spot! Right at the heart of Temple Bar. Food was good, loads of options to choose from as well as for drinks. Staff were also lovely! The only thing was when you asks for the bill, they don’t mention that you have to pay on your way out so we were waiting for them to take payment only for their staff to finally come to our table & asks us to leave because our 2 hour limit is up.

Recently had a top class meal here.The restaurant was very busy on the Thursday night we were there.We were a party of five and were shown to our table in the downstairs area.The place was full with a party of eight on one side of us and another party of five on the other with all other tables of two.We liked the idea of menus already on the table along with the wine list.Several jugs of iced water arrived immediately we were seated.A wide and varied menu with plenty of choices for Vegans and vegetarians. Service was excellent even though there was only one server. All our dishes were delicious with quality and quantity. Two bottles of lovely house red wine was a great accompaniment to our meal.Excellent value and THANKS AGAIN to the young lady who provided such service on a very busy night. Will definitely be back and much sooner than the two months the lovely front of house lady predicted.

Absolutely love this restaurant. All floors are amazing. The food and wine list is so vast and every bit and bite is tasty. There's a whole vegan food and wine choice which is a first for us! Normally my sister has to have a plain boring risotto and sparkling water but La Caverna have done their best to give a fantastically balanced menu for people who are vegan. I live in London and I've yet to find a restaurant for my sister and I that cater for us both. I love steak, she REALLY doesn't. Any time we have a celebration it's our first place to call. Actually now any time I visit from London, even when it's not a celebration, we go because we know the food is perfect. Dan, Monica and all the staff have made us feel so welcome every time and we've gotten to know them so well. The food has always been excellent and the wine recommendations are nothing but perfect from the staff. My favourites are chicken wings(starter), steak (cooked to my perfection...I like rare and the t bone is always exactly that), the whole seabass (amazing!!!), and my favourite....the cheese board. My dad is extremely, EXTREMELY, picky with food and he has enjoyed, immensely, his experience every occasion we've had with the guys at La Caverna. Everyone who works in the restaurant looks like they love working there (and it shows because the same staff are there for some years) so they really give a great night to everybody and bring a fab atmosphere and are so lovely to us. Although the restaurant is always packed, they always have time for their guests. We'll be back again in a couple of weeks and look forward to it. Yum!!

Okay, if you're starving and looking for enough nosh to feed a small village then La Caverns isn't for you. But ... if you're looking for really tasty food presented in a beautiful way (eat with your eyes) by really friendly and helpful staff then La Caverna's for you. By the way, the lady at reception is a delight - worth having a meal there just to meet her.

Surprisingly good food in Temple Bar. The meaty pizza was great with a deliciously light dough. The pasta had a fantastic creamy sauce with chicken, mushrooms, dried tomatoes, and herbs. I wouldn't like to have to pay €15 each but with a voucher at half price it was extremely good. We'll come again...
