Delicious food & friendly service.
We needed a gluten-free option for lunch. The staff was accommodating and went next door to get salmon, which is on the dinner menu. They also have gluten-free ciders and one gluten-free beer on the menu.
Food was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Also a generous portion.
Service was friendly. Of course the Temple Bar area is pricier than other areas of Dublin and in this case it’s worth it.

Doesn't look like much from the outside but appearances can be deceptive! Nice decor inside, friendly service and good food. Plus Christmas music blasting out 👍
L. S.
Awesome food! I got a cottage pie to take away since I was tight on time. The staff were very kind and helpful. I wish I had time to dine inside since the interior was so homey.

When I say this is one of my favorite places I've ever been, I truly mean it. My fiancee and I recently returned home to Kentucky after spending a week in Ireland and I already miss Old Mill. The waiters and waitresses there felt like seeing friends every day. They treated us so well! The food was absolutely stellar. I'm gonna miss going all the time. We loved sitting outside and crowd watching too.

THE BEST seafood chowder we have had so far on our trip here to Ireland. If you get nothing else get this! Fries were delicious, Irish stew was good but not great, and the bread was good as well. Only down side was the fish & chips. While large portion, the fish and breading was rather bland. Service was fast and friendly as well.
G. C.
The place is hidden from the street, you have to go up the stairs. The atmosphere is very nice and the food very good! Also vegetarian option. Friendly staff. I definitely recommend :)
M. B. S.
I've been to this restaurant before and I liked it more, the atmosphere and the food. Now they have a reduced menu. Probably because of the pandemic and the few customers only they can accommodate. Staff very nice. I'll probably come back, but I'm waiting for better times.
I. O.
Nice, ambient place, friendly staff, quick service.
In the heart of iconic temple. Food was nice - especially the Irish beef stew.
The worst side - dessert - tasteless, blunt. I would visit again.
G. P.
This a great restaurant to try Irish food. The upstairs is small and the tables are close together but you can also eat outside. The food was delicious!
A. T.
Good traditional food, good sized portions too, but the place itself is jammed with too many chairs and tables so it's not easy to avoid crashing into one if you need the restroom. Got there in a bit of a weird hour it seemed, half empty so all the waiters just moved around us the whole time which made the visit a bit awkward.

One of the cosiest pub's I've been to in Dublin. The food is great, service is fast and the people great. Would return here.

I wanted Shepherds pie for 2 weeks and I went to Old Mill because of other reviews of their cottage pie. It did not disappoint. Yum!
M. J.
Had GF hot wings. They are still trying to get the full gf menu up and running since they closed due to Covid. Staff is very friendly and the food and wine was great.
S. B.
I had the lamb shank and my girlfriend had the cottage pie. Both were absolutely fantastic. The lamb literally unraveled from the bone. Even the chips/fries were good, and i have a poor opinion of fries at most restaurants.
P. S.
Great food, good prices, kid's friendly with polite staff!
K. H.
Gorgeous Service ! We tried Irish breakfast, it was absolutely delicious.
r.
Incredible place to eat traditional irish food, with good prices and more than tasty!
J. B.
We randomly picked The Old Mill one night and we all had a very nice dinner here!
G. C.
Nice place to have a chat and couple of beers. Food was really good as well. I ordered chicken and chips on a basket they were made almost perfect, good attention and service. Maybe it's no for people in a budget but was good.
A. M.
We ate like piggies. Again. Great food and atmosphere. The waitress was too loud and she treats clients like babies, but she's a nice girl after all. We had 3 soups, 3 mains, 1 smoked salmon salad, 1 beer, 2 still waters, 1 coffee and 1 crumble apple pie. All €92. Add the tip and that's it. We loved everything minus the rocket in the salad that was oldish. Enjoy! We did.

Went for dinner on a Sunday evening but the restaurant was buzzing. The atmosphere was great and it felt very authentic. I had the Dublin coddle my son the wings and the burger all the meals were excellent. Great location on Temple Bar.
C. F.
Lovely little pub, delicious food. Gets very busy.
J. C.
The Barman was pretty rude once we got into the bar, having a not good welcome when the bar is quite original. Dishes were not bad (irish lamb stew had lack of taste but beef stew was pretty good). They forgot our order and we were pending for 1h, but finally they compensate with one dessert for 4 people.
R. B.
Located on Temple bar street, one would perhaps be sceptical on the price range, quality etc. but this is really a nice cosy restaurant with good choice of drinks, delicious food items under affordable price range, sufficient quantity and decent quality. Been here an year before or so and again recently but didn't see a dip in the restaurant maintenance, food nor the service by staffs who have always been very active and welcoming.
S. S.
Really enjoyed the food. Nice atmosphere and kind staff.
A. I.
Very characteristic restaurant in the heart of Temple bar. Typical Irish dishes, very good and well presented. Excellent warm goat cheese. The staff, however, too hasty
E. G.
This restaurant/ pub was extremely fun, though on the outside is looks small it extends far further back provided an upscale feel setting. The food was delicious and the beer was of course just as good. The beef stew was beautifully plated and seasoned to perfection, the beef to vegetables ratio was on point.
My only complain was the pie plate, though the plating looks amazing, it was extremely hot, to a point that it was not edible. I had to wait a while before I was able to take a bite.

Staff 100%
Food100%
Service 100%
The lady Emma that works their is so inviting and cannot do enough for you at the restaurant, she has costomer Service u don't see anymore
M. C.
Love this place. Very popular so best to book before hand. Much smaller than Id expected. We were lucky they gave us a table for 4 for just the 2 of us (maybe cause it was a booking). Very professional staff, friendly. The food arrived quickly and was good quality. (sirloin steak) It's a shame that it feels like a business for ploughing in the money. That said I would recommend it. (maybe lunchtime is less chaotic)
D. V.
Delicious!! We loved our meals. Only downfall is that it's a little pricey. We ordered tap water, 2 main dishes, and 1 dessert to share, and our bill was just over €40, before the tip. Other than that it was great. The service was excellent.
R. C.
Homey place decorated with so amazing and antique ornaments that make you feel as if you are part of the history. The meal is tasty and served in good portions in affordable prices. Nice service with a helpful and qualified staff.
A. R.
Best cottage pie in Dublin! Would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone that is in town, fast service and friendly staff. Got my cottage pie in minutes after I ordered and it came out really hot. Also has the cheapest and best cocktails.
J. N.
Lovely family restaurant, we highly recommend it. They have a vegetarian menu too. The desserts were soooo good!!

I am going to be very fair and give this place a 4 instead of 3. The food was just alright. But I am comparing fish and chips and bangers and mash to some of the best I have had a across England so the competition is intense.
It was late and staff was great. The bangers and mash did have a really tasty wine reduction gravy with onions. Mash was pretty dry and not silky but gravy helped.
Another disclaimer I am very critical on these two dishes as they are my favorites.
Mushy peas were tasteless. Chips were not the shape I would expect from the dish. Fish batter was crispy which is a requirement. The fish itself was okay a bit dry which shouldn’t happen.
But from the perspective of someone that does not eat these a lot and has not across their lifetime, I think they would thoroughly enjoy.
D. D.
Great option for traditional Irish food,
Good quality,quick service
Very generous plates
Only disappointed by the Bailey's cheesecake- not as good as it sounds.
A. P.
Delicious Irish food and friendly staff. Recommend 👍🏼
T. D.
The Guiness stew was delicious! Broth was thick and a little sweet. Beef chunks were tender! This is a restaurant and not a pub, so no live music. Very crowded even though on weekday.
I. F.
We went here late in the afternoon for lunch. Service was really friendly and quick. The food was really great as well
W. S.
Delicious food, staff friendly and helpful. Recommend to try fish & chips there. Price is average for an old town.
C. B.
Insainly good food!!! Very friendly staff and they are very helpful as well! The food was so great, my boyfriend and I could not stop talking about it! The hot and spicy chicken wings are incredible. I had the Irish salmon linguini and it was perfect. Everything about this place is just a good vibe!
A.
I loved this bar! The staff really felpful, kind and funny. 😊 The food is amazing! If I go to Dublin, I will visit again! 🙂
J. S.
I've eaten here twice now... got the Cottage Pie (with chips) both times and I could see myself coming back for a third. Very tasty, filling, traditional Irish meal.
B. C.
Popped in to Old Mill after a lengthy walk through Temple Bar and came across this little gem of a restaurant. It's quite small but their food packs a punch and their lunch prices are very reasonable.
Their traditional fish and chips is incredible with having the right amount of crisp with the fish not being over done or dry.
The staff were attentive and very friendly without being over bearing. Food was also quick to come out even though they were busy.
Would definitely visit again!
F. B.
Very pleased with it.
Good atmosphere, awesome interior and the food i just amazing, the waiters are really kind, 100% recommend it!
A. B.
Great service, Dublin average prices. Guinness beef stew and traditional Irish lamb stew are awesome.
R. J.
Love the food, the atmosphere and the staff. I've tried many dishes already but the best so far was the Guinness Beef Stew. It's very tasty and goes really well with a beer. The lunch menu has a reasonable price and it's definitely worthy. The burgers are also really tasty.
L. L.
Super tasty food and nice and kind waiter!!!
S. A.
Read that this place had great porridge pie, well they do. Walking around temple bar area I missed this restaurant, why, because you have to go upstairs to eat there. It is not like all the other restaurants where you can see the dining area. All of us enjoyed are meal there. The service was great and they had a great sense of humor too.
A. N.
Terrific Lamb Shank. What a gravy sauce!
S. A.
Pretty decent full Irish breakfast. Very friendly service. Prices are OK, considering the location. 10€ including toast, sausages, black and white pudding, potatoes, baked beans, egg and Coffey.
L. C.
Really enjoying the food here. I was there for lunch with a friend who wanted good Irish food as she hasn't been home to Ireland for a few years. This place did the job. The staff were friendly and very attentive without being overbearing when trying to enjoy your food.
D. S.
Super friendly staff and the food was delicious! I had the garlic bread as a starter and the guiness stew. I can really recommend that
D. W.
This is a perfect starting place for tourists and locals alike to get their fill of a full Irish breakfast.
Located in the heart of the Temple Bar district, the affordable dishes don't skimp on either flavor, variety, nor texture.
J. R.
Excellent traditional Irish fare. They produce the classics with solid portions and very nice and accommodating staff. I had the Crispy Toasted Garlic Bread and Cheese as an app and then the Cottage Pie with Chips. Both were excellent. The main was very flavourful and decadent. For a rather touristy area, this place can dish fine food for the volumes that come beckoning.
Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz
J. M. D.
Their meals are very hearty!! For me, 1 dish is enough to fill a day's meal
W.
The food here is unbelievably good. My lamb shank was so delicious. I honestly never had a piece of lamb that good. If you are planing to eat with some friends, reserve a table in advance.
C. G.
Food was fine, except that it wasn't heated well enough to stay hot throughout the meal, which obviously has health implications. I went there twice, hoping the problem would be solved (10 Euro Irish Breakfast is hard to pass up), but it wasn't.
M. C.
Cottage pie was what I was looking for. It was delicious and the service was excellent. Highly recommend if looking for Irish food.
r. r.
Very friendly staff and very good service. No need to book but it was easier to get seated and served on a busy Saturday night. Returned to taste all delicious traditional plates. Cosy.
F. C.
A complete list of delicious traditional Irish dishes served with a very good quality of beers.
The place is really nice and not so expensive (average respect to the other places nearby).
I fully recommend the beef stew cooked with the Guinness beer and the bayles cheesecake :D
S. L.
Manager is super frendly and the food is really delicious, worthed. I will advise to book it in advance couse it get quite busy.
E. J.
What a wonderful intimate venue! Excellently managed by happy staff (with irrepressible senses of humour). We'll be back!
T. H.
Very friendly service and great food. Best pint of Guinness I’ve had on this trip. :)
S. K.
Typical Irish pub with friendly staff. All of the traditional plates tasted fine and also the sweets we triwed tasted really good
G. D. B.
Fast and good service, very nice food and reasonable prices. No complaints here.
B. O.
This place was perfect. It had so much charm. It was a bit small but the food was amazing! I highly recommend this place.
R. J.
When you're looking for a good but affordable meal you geberally dont think of Temple Bar, but that's this place. The food isn't expensive (although the pints are the typical overblown prices you expect from Temple Bar), and it was tasty. Chicken wings were great! The restaurant is cozy, and if it wasn't for the person outside that's always trying to get people to come inside you'd probably not even notice it was there :)
A. L.
Beautiful food. Good staff weren't waiting too long to be seated and we had our food come out to us in no time and very reasonably priced
L. X.
Great traditional food with quiet atmosphere and fast service. Clean cozy and pleasant feeling mixed with irish menu and tasty food.
T. M.
Great Service and atmosphere. I enjoyed the food and Guiness offcourse.
D. L.
Simply perfect experience. Quick, friendly and most importantly, really tasty. The only thing i would point out is that the food was a little bit salty, but other than that, my favourite spot to eat in the temple bar area.
M. R.
Very good food, portion amazing and staff very friendly.
H. G.
We had Guinness only. Was fine. A bit expensive but fine.
HUGE MISTAKE -> we got the Guinness on a Heineken coaster!! WHY??
B. D.
This place never disappoints! A must eat everytime I visit Dublin. The best Cottage pie & chips.
B. J. C.
More crowded than I'd have liked but the food and service were spectacular.
D. J.
I was only stood outside messaging, your man at the door spoke to me, I blinked and I’m sat down with a pint! Great service. Good beer and clean taps!!! Worth a visit!
Y. F.
I had an awesome Guinness lamb stew and the staff was also very friendly :D
S. G.
Excellent dark 🍺
Artistic stone buildings resemble castes. Scotland appears to have 20 times as many castles as Ireland. At least 10 times more than England.
The area resembles Kings Landing
L. T.
Seriously one of the best restaurants I have ever been to! The food was completely off the scale and every member of staff was so friendly. Defiantly visit if your in Dublin!
M. P.
Good tipical food, the portions are abundant; very fast service.
S. S. S.
We had four courses all good but the chicken liver appetizer was my favourite!
F. G.
It was awesome. Had some fish and chips with a Guinness. It was not so expensive. The service was incredible nice.
J. F.
Friendly staff, amazing food, some vegan options
M. A.
One of my favorite restaurants in Dublin. Everything is delicious.
N. J.
Food delicious. Service very fast... Lots of people waiting to eat here. Loved the relaxed atmosphere. Definitely recommend.
A. M.
The food was amazing. Great service and staff
B. S. P.
It is our second time there. We go with a group of students and they love it. The manager is very friendly and food tasteful and not very expensive.
G. C.
Delicious food (above all the traditional stew and the full Irish breakfast), excellent service (the waiter was hilarious and very kind) and an enjoyable atmosphere.
I'll definitely go back to this place!
PS: thanks to the mysterious person who treated me (and my friend) to dinner. Cheers!
B. V.
Good food at good price. A little small but very nice service
S. M.
Nice place, they serve very good food and drinks
M. S.
One of the best places in Dublin! Great food and drinks! The staff are amazing! Such a friendly and helpful enviroment. They have a big selection of food for a great price! The look of the restaurant is also amazing! Great interior and so many interesting things! The Irish music just makes it right as well. Great place to even just have a drink!
V. G.
Stumbled in here just looking for a Guinness. Ended up drinking for a while and eating there too. This place is so cute and definitely worth going to when visiting Dublin.
M. S.
Food was great! Service was quick. Couldn't ask for more.
C. G.
Great! Literally everything was great! The food was really, really good. The price was nonetheless quite affordable. The staff was kind and funny. The place looked cozy and it was not too hot or cold for me. If you have the chance, visit this and take the Guinness stew, it's delicious.
A. B.
Great, sorta-off-the-path restaurant that you wouldn't think about were it not for the guidance from the staff on the street. Great food in a very cozy atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place!
E. L.
Great staff, laid back, fun atmosphere... and absolutely INCREDIBLE food. Would highly recommend. 👍
G. S.
Amazing food. We loved it!

Full Irish Breakfast!!

A quaint little bar that serves some of the best pub food around. The menu is easy to read and understand; they have vegetarian and gluten free options. I ordered the lamb shank (which you can't find easily) and it was by far the best lamb I've had. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall it was a wonderful experience
K. P.
The best cottage pie I've ever had. Flavorful. Amazingly delicious. And the lunch portion was huge! I could only eat half! Great and friendly staff, quick service! Price was fair and lower compared to other surrounding Temple Bar restaurants. A home-y, comfortable atmosphere. I'm from the US.
T. S.
Average burger, patty was dry and thin unfortunately. Friendly enough staff though.
D. M.
Excellent food at reasonable prices. A bit of a wait, and the people handing out fliers out front were overly enthusiastic but correct, it was well worth it. Best lamb dish I had during my entire trip to Ireland, best selection of traditional Irish dishes as well. Definitely the best dinner meal of our trip.
d. d.
Waiter very friendly , quality of food was great. Check the "Today's Menu", some dishes from the menu are in offer daily, maybe you will like and safe some money. First of all I thought it's tourist scam, but in the end I was very happy I went there. Can recommend. Try the Lomb Stew.
M. G. -. K.
Great food, lovely place, really recommend!!!!
j.
Short summary, great food, great ambience but very cramped when busy.
Long review:
Me and my friends ate here for dinner and we don't regret going there at all. In fact it is a shame our vacation was nearing it's end otherwise we would have definitely come back to this place.
The restaurant sits on the first floor and is fairly small and a bit cramped. However the ambience is pretty nice. We were there on a pretty busy night and were lucky to have a table so when in doubt do make a reservation to make sure that you don't have to wait.
As for the food, i personally had the traditional Irish Guinnes beef stew and it was truly delicious! Two of my friends had the steak which not only looked amazing but also tasted great and was made to near perfect medium rare.
As for the service, due to the lack of space and many many tables cramped into this little space, the employees occasionally bump into tables or have to hand plates and drinks to the person nearest to them who can then pass the food or drinks along. It is for this reason that i am giving this restaurant 4 stars.
Overall a great experience and great food with only one small flaw. Definitely recommended to visit this place at some point during your stay in Dublin.
E. K.
Amazing food and a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly and professional, had a laugh with them but they in no way bothered us. Food came quickly and was enjoyed by all 7 of us including a young child. Small but good selection of beers. All in all a great way to finish a night in Dublin. Keep up the great work guys we will be back :)
B. M.
Friendly staff. Good fish and chips.
O. T.
awesome restaurant with nice steaks and beer
M. N.
The food is 100% very good and taste but the Portugues staff with glasses are so rude!!!!!

Excellent guiness and 100% Irish burger! Recommended!

Guinness stew tasteful

Great restaurant. A good Irish food, a great service and beautiful place.
B. L.
The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly!
M. F.
Fantastic food and drinks. Cant wait to go again
C. P.
Pretty good place to eat. We waited a little bit to have a table, but then we were asked fast to order. Courses went fast, people were kind and smiling, and of course food was really good. I took the lamb, good quantity and quality. Don't hesitate !
R. S.
Delicious food and great atmosphere. We had a three course menu with our travel program of teachers who are taking tours with students. We had a delicious vegetable purée soup, a beef stew in a Guinness sauce, soda bread, and a cheesecake.
I would choose to come here again if I am lucky enough to find myself in Dublin in the future.
M. C.
The complete Irish breakfast was very good, but the waiters forgot about our order and we had to wait for a long time!
E. S.
Great place to dine, the food is tasty and the service is really fast.
E. S.
Excellent experience.
My dish was delicious, the bread was perfectly toasted, crunchy outside and soft inside.
The staff was friendly and they delivered us a perfect service.
C. C.
10/10. Wife and I ate here more than once which is saying something because it’s the only place we ate at more than once on our whole trip to Ireland. Their lamb shank is €20 and it’s to die for- simply amazing!! Their chicken wings are very good and their Guinness is from the tap and it’s the best Guinness I’ve had in Ireland (besides the old storehouse). My wife loved their burger and it was very tasty. They have traditional Irish food and they also have selection of non-Irish food. Great atmosphere, great service. Overall 10/10 and I will miss this food when I’m back home in the USA.
S. P.
Only a subset of the original menu is currently being served, but great place and tasty food.
R. M.
In Temple Bar area, where you can find all kind of traditional Irish dishes. The food was delicious, although the place is quite small and usually full of people. I tried Cottage pie and I loved it. The staff was nice.
M. B.
The food was really great! The Guinness gulas and the desert Death by chocolate cake was marvelous. We ordered another one as soon as we finished the first one. Really awesome. The place was great and the service was fast and kind.
M. K.
Nice spot in Dublin. Had a good solid traditional food meal with my kids. Steak, bangers and mash, a chicken sandwich.... Not fancy but quite good with reasonable service. Good value.
A. P.
Excellent food and service. We were looking for some traditional Irish breakfast place and decided to check this out. Very good choice to do that and good location near the bars to spend time later.
P. P.
Self-styled traditional Irish diner - as touristic as touristic goes, but I was very happy with the lamb shank nevertheless.
M. M.
Good food, huge portions, polite waiters.
M. C.
Drinks are reasonably priced for Dublin standards and apparently the desserts were very good (I didn't have any myself, but my friends did). Service was good, very attentive.
N.
A really neat and small restaurant, located on the first floor in the middle of temple Bar district.
The food is really good.
A. P.
The customer service here is impeccable, the staff are so kind and helpful. The food is great and comes out in a timely fashion. The only thing that takes off a star is how cramped the space feels, but it's in a great location. I would definitely return the next time I'm in Dublin.
K. S.
We found this restaurant through a Google search last week while visiting Dublin. We absolutely loved this restaurant. The food is fantastic, and the people are even better. We visited a few times during our trip, and each visit was just as good as the last. (The Coddle was probably my favorite!) Highly recommend it!
D. H.
We were sceptical at the beginning because of the promoter but the food drinks and staff were really good! We would come again
F. M.
Ate here a few times when I go to Dublin. Always had very good quality and portions are huge. Not so expensive, it's affordable, the location is great (just steps away from temple bar) and the staff is very friendly.
W. L.
Took my mother and family here for mothers day. Great atmosphere with amazing food topped off with a low price. Will be returning for my lunches in the future.
Recent edit:
Took my Mother and family here for Mothers day lunch again, its quickly becoming a Mother's Day tradition for us.
Great food and service as always and the atmosphere was just as good as the last time.
C. G.
Fantastic. Right in the middle on Temple Bar. You would expect a tourist trap. The food is an amazing take on Irish pub food. Fresh and delicious. Highly recommend. Don't be put off by the line. It's a tiny place with only limited tables. The line moves. Grab a Guinness and wait!
S. H.
Loved it! Went there on a Friday night and the place was packed. We were a party of two and we're seated immediately and from what I saw the wait was not too long for larger parties.
The food was excellent and so was the beer choice. My wife had the beef stew and I had the lamb shank. Both of us had a great meal. If we didn't live across the Atlantic we'd be back regularly!
S. G.
Beautiful place to eat Irish food
J. C. V. (. V.
I've been here for the dinner and it was incredible, great food but the floor staff not so good
A. S.
Great food, big portions, fair prices
S.
I decided to eat at Old Mill Restaurant because of the good ratings on Google and in the end I was fully satisfied with this decision. I ordered fish and chips with mushy peas. It tasted great. The clientele seemed to be a mix of international tourist like myself and Irish people who were quite friendly!
B. K.
Great staff! Great food! Paul, one of the servers gave us a bit of history of Guiness which was fantastic for first day for the St Paddy's celebrations. All upstairs and bathroonms downstairs, so if you have mobility issues not the place for you.
M.
Myself and my girlfriend had an amazing time here. The food was amazing, we had the burger and fish and chips. The prices are great and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming to tourists. Will vist again! Thank you for the post cards, they will go on our fridge :D
B. Z.
We were skeptical at first at we read that there are a lot of tourist traps and places with not great food in temple bar. We had a place planned already but that didn't work out so we went here after seeing the good reviews. We were very happy with the food as they had a set 2 course meal. Our table of 4 all liked the food. I had the beef and Guinness stew which was good. It got pretty busy and you could smell the people smoking by the door as it smelled of smoke a lot. The tables were a little cramped as it was hard go get out and down the stairs again. The decor was nice with old signs around the staff were friendly.
R. A.
Very nice meal. Good veggie options. Efficient and friendly service. I had avoided in the past as they are always hassling with flyers outside. But it was better than the marketing experience and i will go again
A. G.
It's a good restaurant with very good food. We ordered chicken Cajun salad and traditional Irish lamb which was delicious. The price is fine. There is also diary menu.
P. N.
The food was really nice! They serv all different classical Irish and English food. I ate pie and the taste was delicious. My friends had burger and vegetarian omlette. Also that was really nice!
It's also just great to have some drinks and talk or watch TV.
Cozy atmosphere! I can just recommend that restaurant! Thanks guys it was amazing!
T. N.
Tucked away in a modest front, this little gem had the best fish and chips I can remember as on of its €10 lunch deals, and my son was impressed by his Guineas beef stew. Great atmosphere and cheerful staff made it a good experience
J. O.
very nice restaurant with nice atmosphere. The prices are as the Temple bar standards. The waiters were coming to our table every 5 mins to ask if anything else needed, that was a bit annoying. the food was good. Irish music playing in the backround
T. B.
Very good fish and chips, I liked it a lot.
임.
not something absolutely amazing I experienced here, but people working here are nice and friendly. You can experience local atmosphere. Food was not bad(I had fish and chips) but not something spectacular. Good beer they have here though.
J. M.
Great little hidden place in the heart of Temple bar. Popped in for a breakfast and a few pints. Would definitely recommend a visit. Very friendly staff too
B. C.
The full irish breakfast for 10 EUR was absolutly delicious. We were more than stuffed after it. More than perfect price for this meal. Would come here again!
N. P.
Our first stop when we arrived in Dublin and ontop of the food and drinks, the table service received by Paul was second to none.
Highly recommended.

Great place, Super friendly staff/Owner. Will be back!
M. F.
Nice service, awesome food and relaxing atmosphere. Perfect when you need something less loud and chaotic on temple bar! Love it, especially the vegetarian food. I will come back and tell my friends :)
D. B.
Went for breakfast and there is only one choice, Irish, which is fine as that's what I wanted. I don't like eggs or beans though and asked for them to be left out. Better than that, they gave me extra sausages and bacon without asking!
p. p.
Cozy Irish place with decent food. Overall a good experience.
A nice stew and tasty bangers and mash. The Guinness is also acceptable, though a bit pricey.
The music in the front is a bit deceptive.
m. m.
Small and compact (cosy) food always very good and reasonabley priced for temple bar. Can seem too crowded at times as tables are very close together and the tables for two are too small.
But don't let this put you off as it is still well worth the visit.
V. H.
This was our second time here. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was cosy and welcoming and the staff were friendly and polite. Good vegetarian options too.
H. S.
My favourite restaurant in Dublin. Had the best cottage pie ever. Everything we ordered was delicious 😋 staff were super friendly. I will go back anytime
J. S.
While it was very busy, and there was a line down the steps, the food and atmosphere made it all worth while! Definitely recommend the cottage pie here! You can probably split it, as it is a large portion.
E. H.
Pretty good quality Irish/Americana food. Kinda over priced from what I'm used to, but definitely an option after a few drinks.
My only complaint is that it's pretty cramped in there because they try to stuff as many tables in there as they can so walking in between tables is annoying.
A. K.
We arrived in Dublin and were very hungry. Unfortunately all the kitchens close around 9:00. But this place was our saving Grace. KITCHEN OPEN UNTIL 10:30!!!! Saved us from having fries at McDonald's.
E. S.
Traveled to Dublin over the weekend of the 12th to 15th October, and dining at the Old Mill has been the highlight of my stay. Good simply isn't strong enough to describe my experience as it goes above and beyond. Great prices, and good hostesses and food. Highly recommended.
M. K.
Our family truly enjoyed this upstairs restaurant that is somewhat hidden in the active Temple Bar area. The food was great and the prices were awesome for a family of 6. Highly recommend the cottage pie, but prepare to go home in a wheelbarrow if you intend on eating it all by yourself :)
S. M.
Had a great dinner here. Service was really attentive and we enjoyed the delicious and plentyful food. Expect to have some waiting time without a reservation in the evening.
T. J. B.
Can I blame Old Mill for a problem that many European restaurants have, and most Temple Bar places have?
It is exceptionally cramped. Space is at a premium.
That being said, you can get a proper pour of Guinness and some really good food.
O. G.
If you want to be Dublin the size of your breakfast come here for the huge Irish breakfast. Absolutely delicious! They’ve giving it away at only €10
T. H.
The staff were awesome. We arrived late and they were so pleasant. They didn't make us feel rushed and were so sweet.Thank youfor the incredible experience and great recommendation. The Ha'Penny Bridge pub was great too!
M. D.
Great place to eat! Good selection of typical Irish dishes, everything we tried was incredibly tasty, but dessert Death by chocolate was for sure a highlight of whole dinner😀
G. J.
Not your laid back quite dinning, no sir! Absolutely a crowd, yet not crowded and crazy, Lamb Shank and Coddle! One of the best poured pints I had in town. Line all the way upstairs, but well worth it!
R. B.
Great eatery in Dublin's Temple Bar area. Access by steep staircase so not good for anyone with impaired mobility. Good food and friendly staff.
I. J.
Surprisingly tasty food, great service. Why surprisingly? It is in the heart of the tourist area so I had low expectations. They did a great job. Around 80 euros for four of us.
C. L.
Great spot. Been a few times and have always gotten amazing food.
Best Sheppard's pie I've ever had
C. G.
I liked the meals I got better here than another places in Dublin, I'm not sure whether it was because the dish I ordered, or related with the place itself, nevertheless, it was a great place for me, cozy, quiet, and service very good as well. If I go again to Dublin, would not doubt to visit this place again, enjoy and cheers
K. J.
The host was kind of a clown, and we were all happy when he left us with the waiter finally. Food was tasty, decent beers but not a huge selection. Get a the away from the staircase - the chandelier glares in your eyes the whole time otherwise.
J. D.
Beautiful NYE meal, service was great too, was told there would be at least a ten minute wait at the door for a table but even better was seated in half the time. Will absolutely recommend this place and be sure to go again on our next visit to Dublin.
J. E. (.
Great atmosphere, traditional Irish food, Beware ! large portions served by excellent staff. Great range of Beers , wines & spirits too.
K. D.
Lovely restaurant! Delicious food, served pretty quickly. Friendly staff, good price. And perfect location ofcourse.
m. s.
Really enjoyed the food. Couldn't finish it to much on the plate. Staff were great. Great value for the price. Will definitely come again .
K. J.
Very touristic restaurant serving a variety of international and a few traditional Irish dishes which are worth to try if you like meat and potates. Nice service. Gets very crowded especially during the weekends.
P. S.
Traditional decoration, limited choice of draught beers but good selection of bottled beers, fair prices, nothing special about the food
r. f. f. o.
Very good food and service! Is in Temple Bar so is a really busy place, but they're all the time asking u if u need something else and if u are ok so I totally recommend this place!
H. K.
Good food, friendly staff and prompt service. Perfect place to get into the mood for the evening.
N. “.
Staff is helpful. Atmosphere in pub is pleasant. Interesting interior.. Food was good and portions was big.
N. S.
Great food freshly prepared eclectic menu and Irish staples. Great staff social distancing and covid measures in place
L. W.
2nd time to eat here on visit to Dublin, really good food and staff,i had the lamb shank this time and Guinness stew on last visit ,you wont be disappointed. 5 stars from me .
K. F.
We had lunch here and the food and service were both excellent and the prices were significantly cheaper than other restaurants and pubs nearby in Temple Bar. Definitely worth a visit but it does fill up quite early and its quite small.
M. M.
If I could give 10 stars I would.... One of best pastas I have ever ate and employees there should hold seminars teaching how to treat customers. Amazing service and amazing food!!!
S. T.
Amazing experience, friendly and smart wait staff. The food is everything I could have ever asked for and more. Comforting and flavorful. I'm in heaven!!!
M. S.
10€ for a good Irish breakfast including a coffee is a bargain in temple bar! Great staff used to international clients. Have been there a dozen of times, was never disappointed!
R. D.
The price was fair and the food was good. The only negative thing I can say is the waiter took a long time to come take my order dispite the reseraunt being near empty. Other than that I was happy with the service.
P. R.
Fabulous food.
The steamed mussels (starter) comfortably surpassed many I've had in Brussels, the supposed home of moules frites.
As for the sirloin steak, the menu claimed 10oz (280g) - in other places I've had smaller steaks that were claimed to be bigger. Add in some lovely, perfectly seasoned chips and good beer and you have an absolute winner. :)
M. V. A.
Nice and funny staff, great food. Just a heads up: after 7 pm every guest is expected to order at least a main course, so don't bring somebody that isn't hungry along then.
N. S.
Pretty decent Irish fare. I had some lamb stew and Irish soda bread both of which were very good. Service is quick and friendly. Seemed popular with older crowds.
M. M.
Great spot to stop for a bite. Server was very helpful in planing sites to see. Very funny group of people. The kids want to come back for more bangers and mash.
F. G. F.
I enjoyed the vibe and the place itself more than the food. Excellent service. What a adorable little place that holds so much history. Absolutely charming.
B. M. C.
Best Irish breakfast in Dublin and great value for money Paul who served us should be working for Bord Failte as he is so welcoming and gives a great impression of Ireland to the many tourists that visit.
A. B.
Great place to eat, staff are friendly and efficient. And the food is very reasonably priced. Will definitely go there again next time I'm in Dublin.
J. D.
The only place we ate at twice in Dublin. There are lots of good places to eat at in Dublin, no question. The difference here was the atmosphere and the staff.
S. C.
Hidden gem in temple bar, food is fresh tasty and not one bit dry, bar staff couldn't be more nicer well worth a visit on a night out
M.
Very nice place. Small, stuffed with warmth. I liked the atmosphere.
Good quality and prices on the average.
W. J.
This is a cozy restaurant in the heart of Temple Bar, the food is traditional hearty irish cuisine. Get in early to avoid congestion, it's a small restaurant and the tables fill up fast.
A. G.
Great food! Beef and Guinness gravy was delicious and very hearty. I was filled for s while. Friendly staff.
M. W.

Great food. Very good service but tend to be crowded as it's a small area that can fits no more than 40 people.
K. H.
Came here 3 times while staying in Dublin. Food is awesome. Jenny is the best server. Give that girl a raise!
K. H.
Good breakfast - not a ton of choice (full Irish or nothing!) But everyone was really friendly and the service was good. Not bad for temple bar
O. D.

Great atmosphere, great food at a reasonable price. The owners were very friendly and made sure their customers were satisfied with the food and experience.
