I would highly recommend the Sussex Restaurant for any event.
O. S.Straightforward, well-priced, conventional lunch option in a lovely upstairs room of a pub. Simple and unpretentious menu - burgers, prawn linguine, superfood salad. Service is unassuming and prompt. Beers are reasonably priced. Missing a bit of care for the fifth star - my burger was a bit dry, for example. Overall a safe and dependable choice but not terribly exciting.

Food was very good and good value for money. Impressive wine list, pre dinner drinks on the street below prior to entry added a nice fun intro to the evening too.

Bread was good too. Reasonable portion.
Dessert was meh. Given we went to this restaurant for the steaks, this is not a deal breaker.

B.Really loved the restaurant upstairs. Felt very posh but wasn't too overpriced. The service was nice. The food and drinks were great. My only complaint was where we were seated. Our table wasn't quite long enough to fit two bodies side by side. My friend and I are both thin, but she was tight against the wall and I was squeezed against the table leg. A bit uncomfortable. Our table was also situated in a narrow passageway where only one person could pass at a time. So a bigger table wouldn't have been manageable anyway.

M. C.This traditional Irish pub was close to where I stayed. It certainly lived up to it’s fine reviews. So homely; warm and cosy on a cold winters evening. The bread was delicious as was the wine! Steak was perfectly cooked - medium rare! Smoked salmon starter couldn’t be faulted. Unfortunately only the one picture this time - and not of the food for a change!! That was gone a long time ago. Sorry! Highly recommended indeed!!!
M. O. D.Brought a group of 26 people here for dinner on Monday night. All I can say is the food was incredible, the service was fantastic and the attention to detail was outstanding. Everyone at the table has something different and they all really enjoyed the excellent food. Would highly recommend and I’ll definitely be back with another group.

S. S.I was so glad that on my first night in Dublin (I was on my own) that I stumbled across the Sussex. The food was great and the service made me feel very welcomed. I liked the atmosphere, food and service so much that I went back the very next day with my family friends after they arrived. I highly recommend the Sussex. It's an authentic Irish experience with much more and should not to be missed.

T. B.The restaurant is located above M O'Brien's so take the stairs in M O'Brien's to get there. Food is not available in M O'Brien's. The interior offers a nice, somewhat upscale atmosphere without being extremely fancy. The service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious. The bread was enjoyable and the Shepherd's Pie was hot, rich and flavorful though the portion size was unexpectedly small. The accompanying salad was dressed perfectly and it was otherwise unremarkable.

We stopped by multiple times while visiting Ireland to get the Sussex Burger, which is, by far, one of the best burgers I have ever had. I wish I lived nearby so that I could visit more often.

I decided to stick with it and was happy I did. My food was amazing and the staff was attentive. I'm happy I went here instead of the bar downstairs, although, I believe they are served from the same restaurant so I imagine it is equally impressive.

Přijel jsem pozdě a již byl problém sehnat jakékoliv místo pro večeři. V dolním baru mě doporučili tuto restauraci v patře. Našli mi klidné místo a mohl jsem začít. Mistni pivo a predkrm byly v pohodě. Jako hlavni jidlo jsem měl tresku a byla skvělá. Pak ještě jiný druh piva a již jen účet. Prostředí hezké a obsluha moc příjemná.
