First time traveing to Dublin from London. And wow. Absolutely sublime food. Me and my partner agreed this is the best food we have ever eaten. The flavours were complex and everything was 10/10. They brought my desert out with a candle for my birthday which was cute. thank you:)

We came here at 2:30 for the set Christmas lunch! It came with some puff bread, a starter, a main, and dessert. For our starters, the three of us had the vintage kitchen Cajun stew, the prawn red pepper chili risotto, and our third friend is vegetarian so she asked for the prawn risotto without the prawn and they offered to make her a special vegetarian risotto which was incredible! The prawn risotto was delicious and I still think about it. There was an abundance of prawn in it that I had prawn in every bite.
Our mains were the pork shoulder wrapped in chicken skin with truffle gnocchi and the acorn squash. They paled in comparison to our starters. For dessert, we tried the cheese board, the chocolate lava cake with ice cream, and the set caramel with limoncello. Wouldn’t say the cheese board or the chocolate lava cake were anything special but the set caramel with limoncello was unique and tasty! A great mix of flavors.
Overall would recommend coming here for sure and 35€ was a good deal for the quality and amount of food we got. Great way to try a bunch of different things. next time if we come back to dublin I would probably just come back for one dish because it was a lot of food!!

Great restaurant close to the city center of Dublin. Very good value for Dublin prices. Cozy environment, casual decoration, great service and fantastic food. Without a doubt a hidden gem.

A must for dinner. Make a reservation now.
Small place with attentive service and kitchen in the rear.
Started with Guinness bread with fennel butter. The menu changes and we were lucky enough to have the Cajun chowder which was like a gumbo with a lot more fish, to start with a gluten-free prawn risotto with fresh parsley, cheese and tomatoes. Very flavorful and creamy risotto.
Limited wine menu, although the Tempranillo was a delight.
On another note the owner Sean nicely squeezed in our party of three. A d we enjoyed his varied Spotify playlist.
We are looking forward to coming back on our next visit to Dublin!

My girlfriend and I had an incredible meal here. I had the risotto to start, the beef wellington for main and the half baked chocolate cake for desert, all 10/10. My girlfriend had the salmon roulade with caviar which was unbelievable. Staff super friendly as well and the bill was very reasonable!

My partner and I had an AMAZING dinner here while staying in Dublin for vacation! Cosy ambiance, great food, and wonderful service. Portions were huge but well priced for the quality of them! Restaurant is very small so I recommend booking reservations beforehand. It is a hidden gem and we loved it, we will be coming back if are ever back in Dublin!

Great eating out experience next door to Mulligans, great pop art on the walls coupled with great music playing all night to match the art. Chowder was amazing and a meal in its self. Tomahawk for two was superb and cooked perfectly! This was a first visit but long overdue, will be back!
M. O.
Absolutely mammoth portions of really tasty food. I could honestly bathe in the seafood emulsion that came with the plaice dish. You will roll out of here and it's reasonably priced for what you get. Its not pretentious at all and the staff are lovely. It's nice that the kitchen is open too.
F. L.
The best dining experience I have ever had in Dublin. The food was absolutely incredible, portion sizes absolutely huge, the service was second to none, all 3 of the staff were so friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself & its decor is so unique and helps create an overall perfect vibe. I can't speak highly enough of the vintage kitchen and I can't wait to return.
C. B.
Such a beautiful and quaint restaurant. We celebrated our 5 year anniversary here.. The food. Holy F. SO GOOD. We got risotto, hake, pork belly, and chocolate cake. We were happy stuffed little piggies after.
C. J.
Absolutely fantastic night. From entering the restaurant and being greeted to the actual dining experience, top marks.
The team were attentive without being overbearing, the food really was impeccable. We were a table of 6 and every plate was amazing. Fully recommend a visit here. You'll definitely go back for more. Thank you team 🙏
R. R.
This place has amazing food. Really loved it. The duck liver crème as a starter was fantastic. Best duck liver I've had. The pork shoulder was very tasty as well. The place is tiny but very cosy and there's lots of great art on the walls. Would recommend!
M. S.
Wonderful restaurant with a very nice atmosphere and friendly service. The room is very tiny, the kitchen included - anyway around 30 people find a spot. Food is presented in a nice way in nice pans and/or on wooden plates. The drink menu is simple - one white, one red, sparkling wine and that's it. The red wine was fantastic. Water is included. The food was good, my steak was more medium well than medium rare which is the only negative point. However, for the overall experience the vintage kitchen deserves a 5 star rating!
Thanks for the nice evening!
O. R.
Lovely staff and lovely food. Nic atmosphere in the place too.
J. J. O.
Fantastic food, great value, BYOB, it’s no wonder it’s one of the top restaurants in Dublin on TA, and deservedly so.
Be warned it’s booked most nights 12 months in advance, so if you want to go soon lunch is probably your only option. (They are quick to reply to emails for reservations.)
A. A.
What a place! We went without much hope to get a table but the amazing host send us to the pub next door and came for us a few minutes later with a table ready. Food was incredible from beginning to end (risotto, chowder, lamb, Hake) and all the staff were really nice. It’s a wonderful place with a different vibe and we will be back as soon as we can!
B. F.
Really nice restaurant and I can see why it’s so hard to get a table. The place is booked out months in advance but no harm calling for a booking as they get some cancellations. Intimate setting with the tables close to one another. The food is amazing and staff are friendly and attentive. Byow is an added bonus
D. C.
We found this place during a leisurely ‘day without a plan’ in Dublin. How lucky were we! The kitchen was open for lunch and although the tables were full our hostess suggested a pint next door at Mulligan’s while we waited. It was worth the short wait. We had excellent, creative meals; Black Pollock, Truffle and Kale Risotto and Pan Roasted Chicken. This meal was a great respite from the traditional pub offerings!!
D. L.
🍀 lucky me! I had just arrived into Ireland! Didn’t have reservations, must have been a slow night! I stumbled upon this place! And didn’t it turn out to be a hit! The serving size is huge! I don’t think you could go wrong with any of the choices you make! Dessert was excellent. Sometimes it is just nice to go to a restaurant without first reading the reviews and be surprised at what’s installed for you! (I also wondered about the picture of Bob Marley on the wall🤔) Definitely a must. I’m guessing this is a local gem!
H.
Some Of the most amazing food I've had, delicious, fantastic service as well, I would say the premises is a little small and larger individuals may feel cramped. Booking ahead is a must, it is also amazing value for lunches with small plates only 5 euro. I would highly recommend the sea food chowder
L. M.
This was my second visit to the Vintage Kitchen on 30/01/2017 and i remained as impressed as i was on the first visit. I took my bridal party here and as always the good was amazing and the portions enough for a giant. Everyone loved it. They easily catered for my vegan and gluten free dietary requirements and produced a beautiful meal for me. They made me a risotto starter, roasted veg and salad main and sorbet dessert. Thank you.
F. O.
Excellent little place, full of rustic character, no frills, no stuffiness, no pertention... but excellent food full of taste. Could not decide on whether to have the steak, or fish so we opted for the special, it was the best surf and turf I've ever had!!! Steak was cooked to perfection. If only I could make the sauces at home!! So tasty!! Be careful, everything tastes too good, and the portion sizes are big, I couldn't have the desert as we were too full, coffee smelt devine, but it was too late at night I'd be climbing the walls, so will just have to go back for lunch next week and have the coffee and 1/2 baked chocolate cake!!!There was a waitress who was great at her job and even behind the mask you could see everything about her smiled, all the staff were very attentive and gave a great welcome and we all felt like we were home...
Well done The Vintage Kitchen, we recomend this place to all who know good food, the food reminded me of Le coup chou in Paris. Five stars all around. Dublin is lucky to have this little gem....see you soon.
P. U.
Yum! Always fantastic food and best part is BOB ( bring own booze) although if you can't they have a wine menu! The menu is not long so it's a good sign, vegetarian options available! Recommend the filo Pasteur with salmon ! Also the goats cheese dish!
R. H.
Superb cuisine, combining best of local Irish ingredients in style that fuses Irish, French, Italian and some Thai. Extremely personable and welcoming. Only holds 10 to 15 tables, must reserve ahead of time. A must eat.
J. T.
There was so much food here that we couldn't finish all of it.
Highly recommend coming here.
Service was fantastic and the food is well worth the price.
Definitely need to make a reservation ahead of time, otherwise you might not get a seat
L. T.
Our experience at the Vintage Kitchen was amazing. We did not have a reservation, but got very lucky and the hostess still gave us a table. We were seated at a cosy table in this little restaurant with great ambiance.
We chose the 2 course dinner. For starters we went with the seafood chowder and shrimps with endive. Both dishes were impeccable, and were served with great sauces and presentation. Personally I preferred chowder, which was packed with seafood. As our main course, we had the lamb shank and pork belly with venison pie. The lamb was so tender, it was falling off the bone. The venison pie was wonderful and I really liked the addition of the kale on top. Pork belly was something new to me, and the Kitchen did a great job getting the top layer nice and crispy.
The waitstaff were friendly and passionate about the food they were serving. The portions were good size, almost going on too big, but we managed to clean our plates. We would definitely come here again, and will certainly recommend this place to friends who visit Dublin.
E. C.
Very very good. Beautiful decor, great service, food was very very good too.
To the owners: Not something to penalise you over, but I would strongly suggest reducing the portion sizes. Half because it will increase your business (and I want this place to do well) but also because it's a shame to waste such tasty food.
Thank you for a lovely meal.
M. S.
The food here is so tasty and fresh. We got excellent table service and the restaurant atmosphere was relaxed and cosy. Highly recommend!
S. Z.
Small but live place tucked away in a small street~won’t notice it if just walking by. like the vantage-feel atmosphere~food is nice. Service is attentive.
D. O.
Well I have been waiting many a month to sit down for dinner in The Vintage Kitchen and it didn't disappoint. We had 2 pints in Mulligans beforehand and I brought my 3rd pint in with me to the restaurant. Great the way they allow that.
I had the Cajun Seafood Chowder for starters and the flavours were immense, it was the best seafood chowder I ever had. For main I got the fillet of beef and it was fantastic. Also it's great the way you can bring your own wine. The staff are friendy, great atmosphere and I will be back again.
M. D.
Had a spectacularly good meal here last night. Wonderful food cooked to perfection. Really nice service. Can't wait to go back.
A. S.
We were 3 for dinner. Relaxed and friendly environment. Food is simply superb. You have the option of bringing your own wine which we did, 3 euro fee is charged which is pretty fair. One of the best culinary experiences we've had in Dublin.
P. B. E.
Excellent food cooked with great care using high quality ingredients. I had the duck liver pate with pistachios and the mussels with smoked salmon in a spicy broth with orzo pasta. Divine! I had to roll out of the restaurant as I was so full. If you have any allergies, intolerances or simply don't like an ingredient, make sure you say so straight away, because you can't customise dishes to your liking (for example, I don't like cheese so I couldn't ask for the cook to avoid adding it, and chose a different dish instead). Overall a pleasant experience and I was delighted to have found this place by chance. It's better to book in advance.
V. M.
I was at The Vintage Kitchen for lunch and I had a lovely experience. I had Pork and pancetta meatballs (recommended by the waitress when I couldn't decide) and I thought they were absolutely delicious. The food portion was big, so I took one of 3 meatballs with me. All mains are 14 Euros for lunch, great price considering the great quality of the food! Definitely recommended from my experience.
S. M.
Didn't expect much of Irish food, assuming it would be similar to British but managed to snag a seat here for my first meal in Ireland. It was amazing! Lamb shank is stunning
A.
The 5 star was given mainly for the great service. The seafood chowder was a little bit salty for me. But the brownie with ice cream was brilliant.
M. M. P.
Small and cozy place. Very nice decoration. Staff very friendly. The portions are very generous. The only problem that you can eat just two or three course means.
J. K. (.
Food is absolutely great but little pricy. Lamb was good however except for lamb there is limited choice for Dairy Allergic. Sorbet was awesome though.
K. P.
Came here for a birthday dinner. Really fantastic food. Served by a fantastic waitress Sandra who was so lovely !
M. D.
Good food, good service! Definitely book a table in advance as the place is small. Definitely go if you are visiting Dublin!!
E. O.
Great ambience. Food excellent. Staff friendly and helpful.
T. B.
This is place was a such good surprise! I used to walk by this place everyday, but when you look from the outside there is not to get your attention. I was there with a friend and for sure I had the best chicken ever. The place inside is tiny but cosy. The waiters are really kind and attentive. I notice is really hard to book a table . So if you want visit this place I strong recommend to come during the week and make your reservation before hand.
S. P.
This place was amazing! The service, the taste, the portions and value for money was fantastic. I will definitely go again
F. A.
Place is amazing, I have been a lot of times. They have good food and very good portions. You can bring your own wine(before was free, now is 4e per bottle). Really recommend.
D. D.
The food is not very diverse but the quality and the taste are from another world. You'll need an early booking, couse it's preety crowded in the evenings... Oh it's an BYOW restaurant!
H. W.
Food as always is fantastic, great service and atmosphere
J. H. K.
The place is quite small but the quality of service and food that you get is absolutely amazing. Generous with portion and excellent presentation of food!
V.
Staff great, food very good too. My only quibble....pork does not belong on a surf m turf.
p. f. G.
Beautiful food cooked to perfection. Everything fresh and flavoursome. Place has a cool vibe too
A. C.
This evening we got to taste & experience the vintage kitchen take out/home food. Absolutely delicious! We are a family of four adults. We chose menu 2 & menu 4. We all had a generous portion of their famous fish chowder, followed by a small portion of prawn risotto, followed by a taster of focaccia & creamy goats cheese. For mains we shared the surf & turf in a creamy flavoursome sauce & lots of mussels. We took a break before sharing the chocolate pudding. We are happy & full and still have leftovers to savour tomorrow! Such generous portions! We always enjoy eating in the vintage kitchen & hugely look forward to that again but meanwhile enjoy their superb take out.
B.
One my best culinary memory in Dublin. Food was really great and you can choose your personal wine pairing by bringing your own bottle. I will definitely come back.
T. O.
This restaurant has to be one of the best in Dublin and for me one of the best I've been to...terrific food and great service..freshest seafood and pork shoulder to die for...starters are a meal in themselves... booking essential as only 2 sittings per day...well worth it...reasonably priced ...byowine....great eating experience...not to be missed.
A. C.
Wow. This was just awsome. The seafood chowder was the best fish soup I've ever had. Staff is very kind and fast. Portion was huge and very well decorated for a very good price.
e. c.
I am a fan of their base tomato seafood chowder. A must try.
Irish kitchen, service was excellent too.
c. b.
The starters are gorgeous but the mains were average at best. Stay away from the scallops and smoked salmon main, it was chewy and stodgy, no balance, not enjoyable at all.
M. W.
Good food and service, however the tables are very small, I would go back, good food in this restaurant,mw
A. F.
Cosy and homely space serving delicious and carefully prepared dishes. Best and most genuinely friendly service I've experienced in Dublin.
Photo of the Lamb Shank main attached.

Delicious food at a good price but make sure to book! Highlight of our Dublin trip!
T. B.
Sean and his team are turning out an amazing selection of meals to take away - you have to prebook them on the website, and DO make your collection time. Had the meal 1 (lamb shank on the current menu) last night, both rugrat #2 and myself loved ours and I had/have the seafood risotto and soup to myself over the next few days!
P. M.
Outstanding little place. Excellent food. Thoroughly.
R. D.
To preface this, I have never written a yelp review review and this place was so good that it warranted my first review. But, OMG, where to even begin... this was the best meal I've ever had. I even thought about asking if they could cater my wedding...yes, it's that good.
First, the place is BYOB, yet they still serve wine if you forget. The service was phenomenal. I felt like part of the family as soon as I walked in. Our male waiter was hilarious, hospitable, and on point with all his recommendations. He recommended (and we received) the chowder and prawns as appetizers followed by the beef steak and chicken. Both come with delicious sauce that are mouth watering. The appetizers in its self could have been a full meal. It was like crack it was so good. Already told my friends in town to head to this place, it will not disappoint! Just go.
C. T.
Very gourmet dishes! Quality was excellent! However, small amounts !
M. C.
Small restaurant so very difficult to get table. Need to book well in advance. Two sittings each evening. We were in for 5.30 pm. This restaurant allows you bring your own wine, corkage of €5 per bottle. We left wine in early and went for pre dinner drink in Mulligans Bar. The menu is not extensive but has a choice for all tastes. The food was really delicious with great flavours, served by very friendly and helpful staff. Worth every euro. Will definitely be back.
K. K.
Absolutely love this place. It's a small intimate restaurant so you shouldn't mind sitting close to other diners. I think this adds to the atmosphere and charm of the place. We had lunch. Shared a starter between 2 and had mains each. The food is delicious!!! Generous portions so very full after our meal but could not help but eat it all! We brought our own wine so 3euro corkage for this which we were happy to pay. Recommend booking as always busy but never felt rushed as we had our table for 1.5 hours. Can't wait to go back here on our next visit to Dublin.
F. M.
We got a takeaway (collection only) as it's closed for Covid, and it was incredible! The prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food, the portion sizes were huge, and the owner even threw in some free desserts. It was one of the nicest dinners I've ever had and would 100% recommend!
K. D.
Food top quality, beautifully presented and competitively priced. Fish pie excellent
L. O.
It's the best restaurant in Dublin!
Grest Staff and amazing food!
M. R.
Very good food in a nice and small place, friendly staff and amazing quality food
A. K.
Fabulous food, friendly staff. Would recommend a visit.
m. m.
Amazing food, amazing service .... cannot recommend this restaurant enough ;)
A. G.
We were a group of 10 ladies and we pre-booked our seats for lunch. We ordered different food items, white and red wines. The food quality and quantity is amazing. Its really tasty food. The place is bit small and I would suggest to pre-book seats if going in large numbers. The ambience and interior decoration is bit unique and I really liked it. I would definitely recommend anyone for a cozy lunch over there.
J. T.
This place is absolutely amazing.
Let's be honest. Ireland is not exactly famous for it's culinary excellence. It can be hard to find a meal around Dublin that is very good ... Or even kind of good.
This place is the exception. Everything we ordered was spectacular. Everything about the food was great. The ingredients are fresh, the portions are good, and everything is prepared by chefs that really know what they are doing and clearly take pride in it.
The service matches the food. The waiter was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu and completely honest about what is best tonight.
When I say this is the best food in Dublin, it has absolutely no competition for that title. This place would be considered excellent anywhere.
MAKE RESERVATIONS FAR IN ADVANCE! These guys are the best and people know it, so they're busy.
Eating here was a real treat
J. A.
Very friendly. They accommodated us even without a reservation. Food was great
d. t.
Small restaurant. Bit draughty when Door opened. Beautiful food. Lovely staff. Good prices. Loved we cld take our own wine. Even with the 5 Eu corkage it was cheaper. Unexpectedly gave a complimentary tiny cake for birthday and sang a hearty Happy Birthday
Would recommend.
J. C.
Very quaint place and staff were lovely. Food really tasty but portions are a little too big. I was full after the starter!...even though it was all delicious.
f. h.
Great food. Generous portions of high quality delicious tasting food. We got the beef and the chicken menus for 4 people. Great value!
S. L.
Where to even begin. This is hands down the best food I’ve ever had. And that is not an accolade that I hand out haphazardly.
I’ll start with the service. Our server was so incredibly hilarious and attentive, but at the same time not overbearing. He showed us menus, but was so convincing in his suggestions that we hardly even glanced at them. And I’m so happy we listened. We started with a bowl of the chowder dish and a bowl of the prawns soup dish. Both were orgasmically delicious. For our entrees, I got the beef (which practically melted in my mouth) with a side of potatoes and cauliflower. My girlfriend got the chicken dish which came with a wonderful dipping sauce, broccoli, and hash brown casserole.
Halfway through the meal I was so full I had to undo a notch on my belt, but continued to eat because it was so damn good.
As if it couldn’t get any better, we asked for dessert and were treated with a gooey, warm, half-bake brownie with ice cream. I honestly could have died right there, and it would’ve been the happiest moment of my life.
I wrestled with not writing this review, because I selfishly want this restaurant to be a “best kept secret” of Dublin, but honestly... this place needs to be shared with the world.
G. L.
Excellent take on Irish cuisine. Meats are sourced domestically, and every dish is creative and delicious. The staff is extremely gregarious and more than willing to offer recommendations. Reservations are highly recommended, and definitely feel free to bring your own wine/beer.
E. J.
One of the nicest dining experiences I have had in years, and it was a lunch. The food is excellent and only enhanced by the fact you can go next door and bring back a pint from Mulligan's. The staff are friendly and the size cosy, we spend and very enjoyable few hours. No wonder they are booked out for months ahead
L. M. C.
Small non pretentious restaurant with high quality food, served in generous portions. I've only been there once, planning to go for lunch. I had the risotto starter and the hake for mains, both were delicious. No room for dessert and coffee. Bookings for dinner advisable.
I. I.
Honestly one of the best meals we have ever had. While I was eating I thought, "How will anything ever measure up again?" It is a must. The service is friendly, fun and quick, the ambience is quirky but the real star is the food. The servings are large and you'll want to eat every bite so come hungry.
D. M.
Little hidden gem the food was absolutely fabulous it's a must try
M. C.
A really phenomenal restaurant. The food is absolutely incredible and very reasonably priced. The staff are great and really friendly. It's also right next to Mulligans pub which has some of the best Guinness in Dublin and there's no issue bringing a pint into the restaurant. It is quite small though, and busy, so you really need to book a few days in advance
J. D.
A spontanous decision lead us to one of the best meals! The restaurant is super cozy, the kitchen is fast, the service brilliant and the food delicious! Highly recommending it! We were lucky though to get the last free table as we walked in, so you better make a reservation in advance.
A. K.
Wow. Just wow! Taken there for a meal and blown away by the quality of food and service. Specials were fantastic and the waiter guided me through the menu and showed us some amazing food. Definitely one of the best places I've been for a very long while
G. K.
What can I say. Amazing mouth drooling food. Great staff and a great atmosphere in this little gem.
The staff are so friendly and great banter to be had. It's not the biggest restaurant but it doesn't need to be.
Sorry I didn't take much pictures was too busy enjoying myself. BYOB is great. We met two lovely people and ending up sharing food wines and more.
Didn't want to leave TBH. But am already looking forward to going back.
Great great place to eat. Try the chowder it's to die for.
C. B.
Wonderful food and lovely staff. One of the nicest chowder I have eaten ! Very unusual to have a tomatoe and chilli chowder. Beautiful . Had this as a starter but could easily have passed as a main course.
Have been before and will be back again . Loved it !
A. W.
We've been traveling through Italy and France for the past 6 weeks and this is the best meal we've had. Not a tourist trap. Large portions, excellent food quality (especially for the price), and clean, cozy atmosphere. Try the orzo with muscles. You won't be disappointed!
N.
Really lovely staff here. The food is amazing and such great value! It is very filling though, I do wish we'd taken the waiters recommendation and shared starters as we were too full for dessert! I was gutted LOL Guess that will have to wait until next time. Love that it's byob too, dunno why but I love that!
K. L.
Easily one of the best restaurants in Dublin. Excellent service, charming ambiance, food is too notch. Our favorites were the bacon sausage dish and apple raisin crumble.
S. D.
Reserved a table for lunch here on a Thursday afternoon. It was excellent. The food was fantastic. All freshly cooked. The flavours were great and the portions very generous. It’s a cosy little place and the staff were really nice. Will definitely go back here
P. M.
Delicious and interesting food - a culinary adventure. Reasonably priced and you can take your own wine (€3 corkage). You'll need to book months ahead for dinner on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday; weeks ahead for a Tuesday or Wednesday. But, like us, they might be able to squeeze you in for a second sitting lunch, the same day. I'm definitely booking for my next city break.
P. M.
Delicious contemporary Irish cuisine with a twist. Excellent and very friendly service with a few great characters for good measure! Mains very reasonable and a good pot of tea for two. It has a very stylish interior.
R. M.
This was my third time here for lunch and, again, everything was of great standard. Food is amazing, the waiting staff attentive to our needs without being intrusive. Great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it and I can't wait to be back!!
L. H.
Outstanding from start to finish! 4 person group on a Thursday evening, 2 courses each. Fun atmosphere, awesome service, best meal we enjoyed in Ireland. Must have prawn risotto, chowder, and shank. Portions are immense, arrive very hungry!
B. G.
Very friendly hosts, tasty & good food at decent prices. But very crowdy, hard to find a place.
S. N.
This is the best restaurant is Dublin. Unbelievable.
T. E.
This place was booked days in advance so I needed to e mail each day to let them know I was stilled interested if they had a cancellation. Lucky us, I got a call the day before and we were in. Menu was diverse and the food was fabulous. I had the chowder and lamb shank any my wife the fillet. Our waiter Was colorful and we even got tips on Galway from him regarding dining, music etc. Don’t miss this stop if in town and you won’t be disappointed.
E. B.
What a great find in Dublin. Happened upon this spot while looking for a quick bite to eat. Turns out reservations address nearly impossible to get at this small but mighty spot. Food was beyond amazing. The only thing better was the service. Make sure to bring you own...or grab one from the pub next door. Must do, if you can get in!
J. L.
I have been trying to get a reservation here since the end of July. A month in advance I managed to get a reservation for 2, while asking for 6. With every correspondence, I mentioned that if by any chance someone cancelled, I would love to bring 4 additional friends. The night prior to our visit I received a call informing me that a group of four had just cancelled. My only hope was that, in all my enthusiasm in reviewing a restaurant that I had personally never visited, that I hadn't built it up too much for my friends. I have to say, no one was disappointed. It was everything that I had promised and more. The food was wonderful from the delivery of the starter to the last bite of the dessert. The service equaled the meal. Our servers were charming and anticipated our every need.
If you want a fancy atmosphere, I would look elsewhere, but if you seek a memorable meal, in an intimate setting, and are willing to be patient in getting a reservation you will be rewarded.
P. R.
One of the best small restaurants in Dublin. They serve authentic, flavourful, exciting food in a non-pretentious setting with a lovely ambiance. The staff are excellent. Go at lunchtime to get great value or at dinner where you can bring your own wine with no corkage fee. Book well in advance, walk-ins are almost impossible.
E. M.
Probably the best restaurant I've been to in Dublin. The food is really tasty, ingredients are well chosen, you can bring your own bottle and the service is simply outstanding. Make sure you book a table; this little gem seems to be fully booked every day it's open.
Y. C.
Excellent food... generous portions. Some of the appetizers could be mains!
Had an excellent shrimp soup (lots of garlic though) and a delicious cod fillet. Will definitely go back...
Wouldn't recommend it for a business lunch though as its very noisy.

Dinner with a friend there last night. Food of highest quality and everything I had was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and despite us not having made a reservation beforehand, we got in early and had a table for the first sitting.
It says BYOB, but they do serve wine by the glass too.
Will definitely be back!
D. h.
Great food in a quiet atmosphere. great experience overall, just the space is a bit limited
F. P.
Creative and delicious food, in a beautiful atmosphere, staff friendly and kind
L. M.
A deservedly popular dining venue that serves good food elegantly presented. They operate a BYO policy with a corkage of €3 per bottle. We've visited twice in a month and enjoyed both lunch and dinner service.
A. (.
The food was really good with generous portions. The staff were really friendly and quick. What a fantastic whole in the wall restaurant. They are however expensive, locking you into a two or three course menu.
R. S.
One of the WOW restaurants in Dublin. We’ve been there maybe 5 times within the last 2 years and we enjoyed ever evening. You must like a cosy atmosphere because you will get squeezed into a packed restaurant. For some reasons I enjoyed it there because we had very friendly table neighbors...
H. D. W.
Shank of Lamb perfectly cooked with excellent plating and very delicious squash purée!
L. L.
We had a beautiful meal in The Vintage Kitchen last night! Excellent service by lovely staff! Gorgeous food, big portions and very reasonably priced! We will definitely be returning, if we can get a reservation! Great spot!
R. H.
Food was absolutely amazing!! Im currently sitting at a table here writing this. Just polished off the cheesecake and it'sso smooth!
The prawn risotto for starter is divine, so much prawn in it, beuaitfully creamy and nice hint of chilli!
Lamb Shank was succulent! Melted in my mouth!
Love that you can bring your own wine only a 5er corkage!
Can't wait to visit again and try something different on the menu!!
C. L.
Been a few times now and it remains an absolute gem in Dublin - great service, great atmosphere, unbelievable food. Highly recommended
O. T.
Amazing, tasty food and a cool, casual atmosphere. I was thinking about the green risotto I had for days afterwards. It was soooo good. We booked to come back again before we left. Nice pint in Mulligan's after made for a great Saturday. Highly recommend this place.
K. O.
Great food, but the waiter couldn't have been more annoying. Shouting down the restaurant, coming in on top of people to take photos for other groups without apology. I felt like I was squashed into a packed pub. Bill was incorrect too, but we just wanted to leave at that stage and get away from him so didn't bother to bring it up.
M. F.
I loved the food and the place is really nice but is impossible to book. I understand is a busy restaurant but there is no possibility to book in advance. I try to book several times and I manage to eat there just once. I think the organization could be better. Recommended 👍🏿
K. M.
A fantastic early evening dining experience.
A small but perfectly formed restaurant, full of character & atmosphere. Delicious food, well presented & served by a friendly team.
A great inexpensive night out.
M. P.
Visited here with a group of 10. I eneded up leaving a 30% tip. Amazing quality of food and generous portions. The service was perfect, our waitress was so attentive and on it. I'd visit Dublin again just to go here. Highly highly recommend.
K. D.
Spectacular food, beautifully presented, off the beaten track. Great value for money, served by people with personality. Highly recommended! Pop in next door for a pint in Mulligans afterwards to complete the experience.
P. D.
The service was excellent. But I must have misread the menu...the 'chowder' was red and chilli hot hot hot...With good mussels and unidentifiable white fish. Heat of chilli overwhelmed the flavour. I ordered prawn risotto for a main, having had it there before, but again the chilli overwhelmed everything and I sent it back. New chef, maybe? Sadly, won't be hurrying back.
A. M.
Enjoyed dinner at this venue last night with my 22 year old son.. Fortunately. We had made the reservation months in advance as it was packed and we heard the host say they were booked for the week. We were warmly welcomed. Service was attentive, fast , and excellent. My appetizer of duck pate with a tomato, apple and star anis marmalade was delightful. The home baked whole bread was very good as well. My son's filet was cooked to perfection and tasteful. However, my mushroom casserole was a bit bland. I was hoping for a variety of mushrooms but it was just while mushroom in a cream sauce, advertised with spinach broth nowhere in sight. It was topped with arugula salad. Young Potatoes were delicious but we both found the portion too big. We truly enjoyed the meal. The noise level was a bit overwhelming. A great value, and a pleasant meal.
S. C.
Great food, good service, best to book ahead
M.
It's no wonder why this quaint restaurant is booked out weeks in advance. The food is deliciously prepared -- the hake was perfectly cooked with a tasty crust, and the caviar added a nice salt touch. Even the presentation was amazing. The best however was the prawn risotto starter-- so creamy and absolutely chock full of prawns. (The starters themselves are large enough to be mains). You really get your moneys worth! Plus the BYOW is a nice touch. Sean and the rest of the staff are so attentive and welcoming -- great banter, and always checking in and offering extra bread or Parmesan etc. Book well in advance -- it's worth the wait!
e. o.
One of the best authentic places to eat in Dublin, staff super friendly and the food is so good, all the plates we ordered were made of fresh ingredient (very obvious in the taste).
The risotto is a must.
P. R.
The food was perfect, the atmosphere was amazing! It was our first night in Dublin and we couldn't ask for a better night. We had the version which was delicious My Dad said the filet mignon said it was the best steak he has ever had!!!
E. W.
This is not a restaurant for people with fast food mentalities. Everything is made to order. From the presentation, to the incredibly interesting food offerings, to the charming hosts, who's personalities are so different, but perfectly complementary. You can tell they care about everything that goes on in their establishment.
While it's a BYOB, you can actually run (in my case repeatedly) to the bar next door, fo a lovely Guinness. Or three. And I didn't really run, as much as saunter...
We split the cheese plate and the chocolate cake deserts, although I don't remember getting any of the cake...
Highly recommend, but bring your patience and good conversation.
Z. D.
Wandered in off the street because another restaurant was booked for lunch. Amazing flavour, and small plates were only €6 for lunch. I think dinner is pricier and hard to book, but lunch was a pleasant surprise. Mushroom on bread, duck pate on toast and seafood chowder x3 = €12 each eater. Every plate was served with care and wowed the senses.
I. I.
Wow!! The atmosohere, the food, the laugh. The rhisotto is heaven, the filet is sooooo good. Enjoyed evrery moment. Regards to Zeev (:
V. L.
We were at "The Vintage Kitchen" yesterday and it was just fabulous. The welcome was more than heartwarming and the food incredibly fantastic! Thanks to Andy for being so kind and funny, We had a great time and we'll definitely come back (hopefully) in a few months.
Cheers,
Robert and Vanessa
J. S.
Make sure you try the mushroom and pancetta pie with caramelized onions.
S. T.
Love this place. Great atmosphere, delicious food, great portions, BYOB, and all at a reasonable price. You need to book weeks in advance.
S. O.
Amazing food, Staff are friendly. You can bring your wine. The place is small, almost impossible to get a table for dinner at the weekend (even when you try to book in advance).
I will surely go back as soon as possible to try the other dishes.
A. C.
The food was excellent, they allow you to get a pint of beer from the pub next door. Do book though. A bit pricey but worth it. Our waiter was also entertaining
D. C.
Had tried to to get into The Vintage Kitchen for some time and managed to get a booking for 22nd Jan. We were not dissspointed as it was fabulous. The portions were huge not more importantly the quality was great.
A. B.
Managed to get a booking here. Worth trying this with traditional pub beside it. Felt a bit sandwiched in the corner overlooking kitchen when we were here. Food is rich and large portions. It gets quite hot and we noticed annoying flies. Staff very friendly and interactive.
J. M.
We had a fantastic experience with my family in this restaurant.
Very good food with so creative presentation.
The service was extremely friendly creating a festive atmosphere in the restaurant.
Thank to the whole team.
R. o.
A small menu done very well. Fresh local ingredients fused and balanced with thought. Small place with a cozy atmosphere. Great value for money
A. M.
Heard this place was good, but it's actually great. Fantastic food at reasonable price, and great staff. BYOB a bonus. Booking essential, well in advance. We'll be back.
R.
Amazing food and buzzing atmosphere. Small and intimate with excellent service and a very personal touch. Will definitely be back as soon as we can book a table!!

6 of us went to The Vintage Kitchen on Friday 22/07/16. A fantastic welcome greeted us on arrival by Ian and THE team. Food was super and of the highest quality. cant be BEATEN FOR AFFORDABILITY with a 3 course set menu priced @ €34.. On leaving asked if i could making a reservation for a later date on a weekend evening. Reply : March 2017. Result : BOOKED.
J. B.
Fantastic food! Getting a seat can be difficult so get reservations if possible. Overall a great dinner experience.
D. C.
Byob and the prix fixe is a great deal. Portions are huge. Food is very good. Love listening to records while we eat. Staff/service was wonderful, great team. Hidden gem, lots of locals. Fun cozy vibe. Reservations are a must.
D. D.
A really lovely meal. Service , food & atmosphere were all top class. We never felt rushed even though there was a sitting in after us. Very much recommend
A. R.
Superb place, apparently booking is needed, we were that lucky that went there and they gave us a small table because a couple could not make it.
The staff is just super friendly and adorable from the very beginning.
Food was just outstanding, loved it all, even tho there was not A LOT to choose from, everything was just too good, i would eat it all over again.
The amount of food is more than enough with just starter and main, but as it was the xmas dinner there was also dessert that we could not even start since we were totally full, im we are this kind of people that can eat a triple burger anywhere....
Shame they charged us 65 euros each even tho we didnt have the dessert, insted of having a bit of a discount.
PS - Beginner's mistake was that we didnt bring our own booze. Its recommended to bring a wine bottle or two, so u dont have to pay for it ;)
g. r.
Amazing food, friendly service and cracking music! Highly recommend for lunch or dinner! Such a relaxing atmosphere.
A. W.
Huge portions and great food. The owner is very friendly and funny.
P. L.
Awesome Place!
The decor is really cool (especially liked The Beatles made from crushed paper cups) really relaxed atmosphere, awesome food but the best part about it is the staff!
When I rang to make a reservation i got the answering machine, 30 mins later got a call back to say I had a table reserved.
Afterwards went down to have a look at the place, greeted with a hug from Sarka.
Andy is gas when serving, seems like a guy that is really confortable in his skin.
10/10 would recommend
F. m.
Beautiful food at a beautiful price!! You won't be disappointed. Be careful of the starters it's big portions and delicious so it's a struggle for dessert!!
O. M.
Delicious! Staff so so good, helpful and friendly. Really helped with my Gluten free coeliac order!
L. M.
Favourite restaurant in Dublin! The lamb shank is amazing. Staff are great and the kitchen will cater to your dietary needs!

H. M.
best pound for pound Restaurant in Dublin. great value for money, amazing food and great service. If you like food, eat here. make sure you go hungry. big portions
P. C.
Food is excellent, served by a lovely staff. A bit expensive for a lunch (around 15€ for one course), but good value for the money.
S. M.
Really really tasty food. The staffs recommendations were excellent. The only problem I had was I was too full from when leaving... which is a good complaint to have.
h. o.
Love it, been here 3 times, twice for dinner, once for lunch, never disappoints, the chowder and risotto especially are different level, service is fantastic and it's BYOB, what more could you want!!
P. C.
Super little place on poolbegh street beside Mulligans bar off tara street in Dublin..only holds about forty people..so your actually sitting in the kitchen!..great staff, friendly and entertaining..food is fantastic..big flavours really well thought out..you can bring your own wine..corkage is a tad steep at €6 per bottle...but still great value....six of us had an excellent three course dinner..bill cane to less that €350...loved the crack there!..highly recommend it!..but book in advance..there busy ..understandably.
j. b.
Great food great staff

E. N. A.
Carlow mushroom magic starter, melt in the mouth lamb shank or succulent seabass, cod & potato purée with the hustle & bustle of a busiest BYO kitchen makes for a lively ambience as you gorge on hearty plates of delicious bursting with flavour food. Come hungry!!!
A. B.
Excellent small, busy restaurant. Food is great, perfectly cooked and served. The ingredients are fresh and the service quick and friendly.
E. A. A.
Amazing food and very good service. It can take a while to book but definitely worth it. You have to try the seafood chowder.
D. K.
Totally worth the wait...just go. Wonderful.
L. D.
Fabulous food wish they had a restaurant in Stratford upon Avon. Service great and a surprise rendition of happy birthday sung by a lovely diner presumeably a regular. Bring your own drinks very reasonable prices and great atmosphere. A wonderful end to a great day out in Dublin.

Our meal was gorgeous. The ambiance is very relaxing and the wait staff are all top notch.
T. H.
Excellent presentation of good food. Space is a bit tight(small tables) but otherwise a great experience AND you can bring your own wine!
M. P.
I love how the only negative comments are either for the wrong place or because the reservation list is too long. Waited months to get a table and it was worth it completely. Every single dish was the best I've ever had. Made my next reservation for 7 moth out before leaving.
P. 9.
Tasty, unpretentious food, served in a relaxed environment. Highly recommend the surf n turf . Staff were friendly and efficient We'll be back
M. M.
Perhaps the best seafood chowder I've ever tasted, served with delicious brown bread. Chorizo risotto was a bit on the spicy side, but still a fine offering.
G. S.
