It's amazing. Honestly one of the coolest places I've visited in Dublin. The food is good and there are a lot of vegan and vegetarian options, the list of cocktails was vast and there were non alcoholic options. The staff were really lovely and helpful for any questions we had. The arcade games are so much fun and there are so many to chose from.
This places looks fantastic and is fantastic would recommend to everyone!

Unbeatable! A favourite every time we go up to Dublin. Food is gorgeous, staff friendly, amazing vegan options. Cocktails are delicious too and just a cool venue in general. I got the vegan chopped cheese which was unreal. My partner had the vegan Juan tacos which again, were gorgeous. We also had a side of mac and cheese which was not the best (kind of that fake plastic cheese taste) but still tasty! I had the kinder cheesecake for dessert which was beautiful. Would return again and again 😁

Great place to get together while playing old fashion arcade games. Food and service is good. Conveniently located in proximity to the Jameson's distillery.

Token is one of our favourite spots in the city for vegan food we went last night to eat in for the first time since they reopened and as always everything was amazing! There's some new options on the menu we tried the vegan tacos and mac and cheese along with our faves the vegan chick burger and spicebag everything was unreal! Great cocktails and lovely staff too ❤️
P. L.
Great place for arcade games and have couples of drinks! Fried chicken tenders on point too!
D. L.
Brilliant place with good burgers and to grab a drink while getting to play some arcade games. 🕹

Yummy Food and nice to explore the different slot machines after dinner. At some machines you can play against each other. That's funny. At the weekend quite full.
C. P.
Their food is lovely! The staff were engaging and friendly. Games were old school and retro (they have guitar hero). Though I went with a group of 13 and were divided into 2 table. A bit pricey but its a given with what it had in store. All in all I would come back again.

Nice place, good food but, need some improvement on the service staff.
L. M.
Amazing cool place with all the fabulous old school video arcade games and the food’s great! Maybe you should add more new video arcade games to your place and new food as well.
N. K.
Really amazing vegan food! The sweet potatoes fries are really really good! Cool atmosphere with all the old games in between. Nice place for a date. When you’re going around 7PM it can be really full and you need to wait before you can get a table, but in the meantime you can get a drink and play some games which a fun way to spend waiting.
D. K.
Great experience for kids and adults alike. Good value for money. Good meal deals with tokens included. Lots of great dishes and snacks to choose from. The arcade itself is amazing. Brings back a lot of memories from childhood with a nice range of memorable games.
L. B.
Token is geeks and nerds' paradise with loads of old school arcade games and more. The whole place is really cool but the burgers and loaded fries are the real attraction here. Their burgers are absolutely delicious, I recommend the Bacon Cheebe and the Bacon Jam Fries, although the Burnt End Fries are a close second.

Quality spot to spend an evening in. Diner food, drinks and arcade games make for a good time. Menu caters to many dietary restrictions, staff are very friendly and there is a good atmosphere. Well worth checking out!
R. I.
Amazing place, one of the type. Not sure how is it now inside, if you can still play games. But the food there was always tasty, and drinks were cold. You can always order or pop in if the place is open.

I've been there twice now, and one was a date. It was a great place, really fun and takes the edge off. Drinks are expensive, but the espresso martini (that they have their own name for) was great. The food is AMAZING (I got the bacon mac and cheese). They also have a huge selection of vegan food that I would love to try out one day. Don't miss the toom dedicated to pinball downstaires!
N. S.
Novel experience playing old arcade games. Not too expensive to play. Great service and nice atmosphere. Nicely designed inside, lots of attention to smaller details. Had heard a lot about the food but it was just ok. Hot dogs were very salty and overcooked (hard exteriors with little chewable meat left inside) and bun was dry. The burger meat wasn’t salted and they were dry and overcooked as well. Maybe just an off day in the kitchen. Great food concept though, just needs better execution. Expensive given what came out of the kitchen but if executed well it would be well worth it.

Was recommended here for a typical pub experience, what we didn’t except was the vegan options. If you only try one thing, we highly recommend the vegan big mac along with a side of vegan garlic mayo- you’ll be delighted.
You don’t have to be vegan to enjoy this burger you’ll question if you’re eating real meat, it’s quite deceiving. Servers are friendly, wait time for food was a bit long, prices were higher than expected. The ambience is definitely your classic arcade style funhouse pub, this is clearly what draws in the crowd. All in all an enjoyable experience that should be shared if you’re in Dublin.

Great place to go. Food is exceptional, very tasty. I can't compliment the staff enough. From the front door to the bar and servers, each member was friendly and so helpful and accommodating. The retro acarde games were so cool too. Highly recommended.
L. B.
Good night a bit of food (nice food by the way )and a few drinks and played a few games. Only down side is once you finish your meal you have to vacate the table and there not many tables to sit at once you are moved.
Would I go back ...... yes was a fun night.
S. Z.
Fun place to go to! Spent ages on the Simpsons arcade machine and tetris. Also lots of vegan options which was great as I can't eat dairy
I. J.
Great place to spend a couple of hours with friends. It's relatively small so I recommend booking a table if you want to eat because it gets quite full - we were super lucky because we were meant to have a 1+ hour wait, but ended up getting a table in 20min. You can barely move around; it really gets crowded.
We really liked the sliders, but our favourites were the chicken tenders and the sweet potato fries. We wouldn't recommend getting the chips and guac; the guac is seasoned with some spice that makes it taste like a completely different type of cuisine (not that it's bad per session, it's just not authentic at all).
The games are quite fun, but our favourite by far got to be the dance off - although it loses a lot of its potential due to the fact that you can't actually hear the songs you were dancing to, which is a shame.
Still, quite a fun time and would repeat.
B. G.
Not just and arcade, this place serves really good food. We got the burger sliders and some spicy chicken strips. Both were delicious and the spicy chicken strips had a little kick to them. We were very satisfied! Definitely would come back, for the games and good!
E. J.
I beyond impressed and satisfied with the place and food! I got taters and chili dogs, guiltless tasty and satisfying! Brought my non vegan friend, and both of us are extremely delighted. Staff are friendly, and I appreciated the fact that the staff who took our order asked the chef first to make sure their taters were vegan!
D. M.
Its fun, great atmosphere and the food is good. Tokens are cheap, drinks are tasty worth the price. Only problem is I got high score on Simpsons bowling arcade and the Polaroid camera is gone 😢
D. A.
I've rarely visited a place so committed to a theme, and Token does it really well.
The place is filled with classic arcade machines in good working order, with pinball downstairs. It's pretty tight confines but good atmosphere, with a bar on the way in and a wall of photos dedicated to players with the highest scores.
The staff are very helpful and friendly, and the menu features a good range of food types.
I had basic Out N' In burger which comes as two small burgers - most of their mains come in twos. They were tasty and the portion sizes were good. I paired it with fries with bacon jam and parmesan cheese. Again very tasty but everything comes with a lot of sauce, so if you'd rather be a bit more sparing maybe ask for it on the side.
All fries seem to come with Garlic sauce too, in case that's something you'd rather avoid.
A full list of drinks are available and the prices are reasonable enough by Dublin standards.
We played some games as well - basically 50 cent for a token and you'll need two a two player game. Some popular titles had a queue but everyone was patient and polite about moving on.
Overall it's a fun place, decent for a date or a team night out. Take a look at the list of games before you go as they are rotated regularly.
It seems like the Token folks have lots of ideas on the way, and I wish them the best of luck with the engaging new addition to the city.

Token is one of the most magical places in Dublin! Great food, great drinks and above all else arcade games!! Pre covid it could be a bit crowded but recently it was perfect and had a really chill atmosphere!
M. S.
Definitely had fun there, well organised and cool spot. Food is surprisingly good for a fast food ish place, the sliders were the highlight! Good selection of arcade games, some classics and some modern ones. Would be nice to see more of non fighting games like the dance machines etc. They are a great laugh after a few drinks! 😂
J. T.
Great concept: pub/restaurant with old style arcade games. The menu offers lots of vegan and gluten-free options. The arcade games are fun but not a lot of variety; it would be good if it was bigger and had more selection to offer. Would still recommend coming and trying it out. They also accept Amex
N. W. (.
Menu was great and the deal Inc 10 tokens is grand.
Found the food a tad on the sweet side but fantastically lush nonetheless. If ordering a main and primo side your eyes will probably be bigger than your belly, especially if you preorder dessert as well.
Bit of a struggle to get around some of the machines at the weekend, pretty packed upstairs and downstairs in the lounge but hang about and you'll get on something.
Definitely worth a visit if you have a geeky side to flex.
K. D.
A must for any retro video game fan. And the food is great too. Staff are very friendly especially the Brazilian lady serving us, she was very helpful and polite.
The arcade machines are in great condition.
The pinball machines downstairs are great fun.
The menus are inside old video game magazines, and are bill was brought to the table in a PS2 game cover. Awesome.
Can't wait to go back.
d. h.
They know how to pour a drink, the games variety is great. They have most classics arcade games and the atmosphere is amazing. Hell the bubblegum toilets were hilariously fun .the service is also very good.10/10
T. P.
This is a great start to what could be an awesome barcade. Advertised as a US styled street food bar with classic video game systems, this definitely delivers. It just needs some polish along the edges. It has great street food options, plenty vegetarian and vegan options as well as full meated and good beers. Where this fails is that the items are too sauced and try to combine too many flavors. I found that the flavor of the fries or vegan dog were covered up by the sauce and accoutrements instead of shining through. Some of the wait staff were great and attentive, but others just seemed to hate their jobs. Some game consoles were broken or ate tokens, but the decor and atmosphere were very nice.
R. R.
A very creative concept! The place is a mix of a restaurant with an arcade house. Dinner was very good and there are vegan options for all tastes. Service was specially attentive. We enjoyed the arcade games afterwards and were struck by nostalgia playing Mario Kart, Tetris and many other fun games. The whole place is an ode to the game industry of the 80s and 90s. Highly recommended!!
S. D. M.
Really cool little place if your around town. Burgers are sooo good! Arcade games are great! Older kids will love it too but the do have to be gone by 4pm. Good night out with friends!
J. D.
Food is great and it was a fun place to hang out with friends. The old school arcades gave some nice nostalgia, the staff were friendly and the whole atmosphere of the restaurant is jolly. Couple of pinball machines downstairs too of different types. The time crisis shooter was arguably the most fun part of the experience but overall would 100% go back again.
E. P.
Great fun. Quite a few choices of arcade games to play. Decent food for the price. Can get a bit crowded during weekends but manageable.
P.
Must do in Dublin !
This place makes a lot of fun. You can have dinner in the middle of a awesome arcade game machine collection. Come just for drinks and gaming is also possible. A large offer of beers are available at the bar. don't miss the pinball machines in the basement.
R. Z.
The place was cool aesthetically however, the music was SOOOOOO LOUD you can’t even hear the waitress or your self talking it was headache inducing.
They had a huge vegan menu I ordered the vegan chick burger and it came as two mini brioche buns with their vegan ranch sauce it was really good 😋
The service was slow SLOW even tho there weren’t that many people when I went.
I’d come again and try their other vegan burgers but I wouldn’t stay in.
D. L.
Great idea and executed well. They have all the top games! Only downside, which happened on the only 2 occasions I was there was confusion among the staff, initially saying we had our table for the whole night only for someone else to come back after 90 mins to say we had to give up the table.
O. S.
Awesome place, especially if you're into classic video games and you grew up in the 80s/90s. Their food is also surprisingly very good. The menu for 2 is only €29.95 and you get a lot of food to enjoy!
G. &. C. R.
Amazing place!! My best place to eat in Dublin, will always be coming back on my visits to Dublin. Was so happy that they do vegan options, even a pudding! Staff were so friendly. I think we paid €20 ish each for 2 courses, unlimited pop and then 10 tokens for the games. Really lovely time!! The games are actually so good, the pinball room is a must!! Reminds me of being in the 80s or like something off Stranger Things? I absolutely loved it. I had the vegan hot dog which was amazing!! The tata tots(?) were incredible and so were the fries. My girlfriend loved her chicken too. We had the churros for pudding and omg, that butterscotch sauce was heavenly!! Definitely a must do in Dublin.
b. s.
First time in Token. Good selection of arcade and pin ball machines. The food and cocktails were tasty. Found it a bit loud even though there was not a lot of people there.
K. M.
First visit back to Token since pandemic and I was so disappointed to see they've drastically reduced their beer menu. Things like Heineken and Rockshore have replaced tiny craft brews on draught. They used to sell local, small brewery's beer that you often couldn't get elsewhere.
Service was good and so was food, but it's lost its appeal for me.
L. V. (.
Nive place, good food and cool arcades!
Polite and nice staff too, would definitely recommend to everyone
J. B.
Great food. They have lockers for €5 to hold your stuff if needed. We put our bag from the Jameson distillery there. Good atmosphere, good game selection. Fun date night!
R. L.
A truly unique bar in Dublin. Fantastic selection of food, drink, pinball and arcade games. Easily one of the best barcades I've visited.
S. S.
Fantastic place for retro game, pinball and beer lovers alike! Really good atmosphere and good deals on the menu's and tokens. Highly recommended!
A. D.
Waw I am so impressed by the quality of the food that I had to write this review!
It is street food at it's best, and from far the best burgers I have had Smithfield/Stoneybatter and maybe even in whole Dublin. The beef is of very high quality (and I worked in the meat industry myself), so juicy and tasty, the cheese is properly melted, and the ingredients are perfectly balanced. Everything else we ordered was super tasty too, mozzarella sticks, steak & cheese croquettes etc. Well done to the chef and his team!
J. r.
Nice pub to visit with your friends. The food and drinks are amazing, and the arcades and pinballs are great priced, which is quite strange to see, but amazing to have. Really great atmosphere and very friendly staff. One of the best places I visited during my stay. Will come back to Token if I ever come back to Dublin. 10/10
F.
I love token! It’s so much fun for dinner when you’re in Dublin and I take all of my friends there when they visit! The vegan options are incredible!!! The cutlery is biodegradable and straws are paper which is so nice to see. There is vintage gaming machines and a handful of awesome pinball machines. They do drink as well with a good selection and a few funky options. It’s really reasonably priced as well and staff seem to be well trained!
P. S.
Token is a fantastic place to go with friends or a date. The food is amazing - the Token Sampler for two is amazing value! Theres a great range of beers on tap and the Guinness is fantastic! The games are a lot of fun to play and it's reasonable value for the tokens. Great place altogether- need more like this in Dublin!
J. N.
Visited here on a trip to Dublin.
I highly recommend it.
You buy a set of tokens for the machines at a very reasonable price.
The atmosphere feels like an an arcade from years gone by, it's very jolly.
They have classics like the original Donkey Kong (Mario is named Jumpman here!), Pac Man, Time Crisis 2, Golden Axe, Tetris, Final Fight, TMNT, X-Men, Spider Man, DDR Euromix.
They've got a selection of pinball machines with themes like Adam's Family and Star Trek. They're really fun, just like playing the Windows Pinball game.
On the more modern side they have games like Mario Kart.
The food is also very good, a selection of tacos, chip bowls (topped with pulled beef for example, burgers.
The bar also has a full complement of drinks and cocktails.
J. T.
For all the video game fanatics out there this is the place to drink. Nice little bar with a nice selection of craft beers and everything else. But what makes this bar so special is it's wide selection of old school arcade games from mortal kombat to Mario kart there is genuinely something for everyone here. I would give this place five stars but I found the food to be very greasy. I bought a burger and hotdog. The burger was oozing with grease. But never the less. If video games and beers excites you this place is definitely worth a visit!
J. S.
Some of the best vegan food we've ever had and not even from a dedicated vegan restaurant! It was well worth the hour we had to wait and the arcade games were a great way to pass the time.
Huge drinks menu and plenty of interesting creations too. While it's not a quiet evening by any means, it's a wonderfully fun place to be and I would recommend it to anyone.
K. F.
Lovely place and food, highly recommended
O. K.
Came here on a work night out, but he games were a blast from the past, although they need a second PacMan machine as I waited 3 hours to to get a go, possibly Miss PacMan for variety.
Loved playing Bubble Bobble and Tetris in an arcade, and my colleagues enjoyed DDR and Time Crisis 2.
It’s nice that the arcade cabinets are classic cabinets and not emulated mame cabinets, the unisex toilets are blindingly pink, which is cool, but should come with a warning to wear sunglasses before you go in.
Food was really good too!
A. M. G.
Delicious food and fun games for far too a reasonable price. The arcade machines are well maintained as a point, as opposed to being a novelty. The tokens themselves are equivalent to 50c each which is much better than any arcade as far as I can remember. The food isn't microwave ping and fling either, it's actually nicely cooked and very tasty. Highly recommended in short.
V. C.
I swear that this was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life. I ordered the vegan Big Mac. So good. The Vegan Sunday too... unbelievable. Definitely going back there for more vegan food.
I bet the non vegan food is also very nice.
I. E.
Such a cool place you feel like a kid again 😇 I love their fries and garlic mayo ap delicious
R. O.
Great staff, great food, decent selection of games. Jack the bartender makes a mean cocktail
R.
Food was amazing (Vegan chick burger) and the decor and atmosphere is so cool, love trying out the arcade games.
F. D.
Perfect place to eat, drink, chill and, obviously, play some (retro) games. Prices are cheap especially their combo meal+drink+games for 20€. A must do if you are into arcades.
J. E.
Didnt not expected this to be an arcade be when we went in for a drink. This place is very cool if you're into your classic arcade games. There are 2 bars onsite and they serve food too (which we didn't stay for). There is a lounge but it isn't really worth going for a drink for, the big draw is the gaming. You pay for tokens which you can use in any of the many arcade games or pinball machines dotted around the 2 floors. The whole venue is over 18 only, so no kids.
J. L.
Great atmosphere, good food, and obviously the arcade games makes you feel like a child again.
B. N.
Prices are ok, food is quite decent, but pretty crowded when you take pandemic into consideration. If you don't mind the crowd, you will have a good time.
A. C.
A throwback for anyone over 40. Great food. Retro fit out. A must visit for anyone.
C. S.
Lovely food, great atmosphere, loud and cramped but they mostly add to the experience rather than detract from it.
Excellent drinks selection, no complaints about staff, game selection isn't as great as some other arcade bars but there's more than enough to waste a couple hours on with some friends.
F. A.
Are you tired facing your friends with boring stories or don’t have a good subject to bring up? I highly recommend Token as excellent place to spend time with friends even if you are an extremely introverted.
j. g. r.
Definitely recommended for those who want to play some arcade games. The food was surprisingly good (pub-style), and the selection of beers on tap was decent (with some more interesting options on the menu in bottles/cans).
O. C. C.
Fantastic place. Hit a high score on Golden Axe and beat the current record.
r. s.
...yet again token doesn't disappoint.... changed my order yup and so worth it...the mozeralla sticks and chargrilled broccoli 🥦 are new additions to the menu since my last visit and they're so good...the cheese was so gooey and the broccoli was crunchy...chicken sliders were mouthwatering and yummy...highly recommend 😊😊 bring in next time 💖💖
I. H.
A really nice place to chill and have fun. Great arcade variety, amazing vegan options, the staff is quite helpful and nice. Favorite part: pinballs :)
Totally worth a night out.
Only downside: The booze seems more pricy than usual.
C. B.
An amazing little arcade bar in the heart of Dublin! The food and drinks are fantastic, and I couldn't have asked for a better range of arcade machines.
N. H.
Nice atmosphere, great place for casaul hang outs, plenty of classic arcades + pinball machine.
Food wasn't bad either, definitely recommend this to anyone who is up for a few drinks and a few round of games.
T. D.
Good place to combine food and retro gaming in family or with friends. Almost all the game cost 1 token (50 cent euro). You can find games like ''Time crysis'', ''Double dragon'', ''MarioKart'' and there have also a roon full of Pinball. It's a good place to discover in Dublin.
D. J.
One of the best pubs in Dublin. Have a beer or a cool cocktail between games in a bar full of retro machines. The games are not expensive (0.5€ most of them). And they have a part to eat burgers (they are also great). Really recomendable.
C. M.
Amazing retro arcade/bar very unique atmosphere awesome place to chill out and play a few oldschool classics
D. K.
6 of us went here for dinner and drinks, had a great time. It's not as big as I imagined however so can feel a bit cramped when it's very busy. The food was good, standard kind of American diner stuff. You can get a deal which includes a main a drink and ten tokens for the arcade for €20. There is also a pun all parlour downstairs which was cool but it's a small room and smelled very bad of sweat which was a bit off-putting. On the whole though it's a good fun experience and definitely worth checking out.
S. M.
The games are classics. DDR I'm store which is amazing, kinda lame it's 2 coins per play and it's just for one song.
P.
Such a great place with an amazing arcade games collection and good vibes. I definitely recommend it.
B. C.
Its a Barcade, its loud, sweaty and full of people. It was great! An awesome selection of beers and a very good menu. Prices for game tokens are good as well. I'd recommend it to everyone.
A. C.
I love Tokens food and the restaurant is awesome. 5 Star eating in experience but I recently ordered on Deliveroo and my food never arrived and I was charged full price. On the app the rider lied about calling me and buzzing my apartment.
I tried to call the restaurant but the Token automated service just went to voicemail. I'm sorry to say your delivery set-up is abysmal. Please hire more staff so someone can man the phones and take your service off deliveroo!
-After leaving a voicemail, someone from token rang me back, 2 hours after my food should have arrived, and then ensured I got a refund.
S.
Great food and service, but venue was quite loud
A. P.
Dublin needed an arcade place for ages and finally got one! Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food as well! Craft beer tap selection was also solid. Will definitely be back again.
T. C.
Great food, amazing vegan options! The drinksnselecThe actual arcade part is quite small and can get very crammed - even for a Thursday night so try prebook if you're eating! The pinball machines are so cool, I just wish there were more games.
Good date spot, bitta fun games, food and drink 👌🏼👌🏼
T. O.
This place is the real deal. Delivers way more than just a quirky bar with some arcade machines. Huge selection of retro games to play with a group of people. Big fan of all the fighting games in a boxing ring in the corner of the venue. Pretty affordable and very easy to lose a few hours here. Amazing selection of pinball machines. Surprisingly great food, great beer selection and lovely staff. I'd recommend heading during an afternoon as it can get very busy at night.
H. F.
Unfortunately we didn’t have a booking for Saturday and they didn’t let us in. Even if it didn’t look that crowded actually, but the current situation doesn’t help…See you at our next trip in Dublin
N. H.
Loved it even though I was twice the age of the majority of the patrons.great food, fantastic drinks selection and of course the games machines
P. T.
Awesome place. Cool atmosphere, adorable staff, delicious food.
Only annoying thing is the disposition of everything, tables & games are not well arranged and create clogs everywhere. It feels like wherever you are you're on a display. They need to change everything so it feels more welcoming and fluid.
G. g.
Very nice mixture of pub and retro-classic-games, a perfect place to have s bite and play classic games with some friends!
D. B.
Amazing food, I mean amazing. The pinball machines downstairs well worth it aswell. Drinks were decently priced, plus staff and management extremely helpful and genuine. Will be back 100%
M. F.
Very fun place with an on point plant based menu, definitely worth a visit!
N. M.
An arcade! What a beautiful place full of people and the games? Oh my! The nostalgia is all over you as soon as you enter the place and see the wall with all the old game machines.
N. A.
Lovely place. The food was excellent and the amount of vegetarian and vegan options are incredible. I had the vegan buffalo wings and they were amazing.
Great staff too!
J. J.
Went there for pals Birthday yesterday. Nice place for small groups as the place was packed, but really brilliant atmosphere met few of my other friends there too randomly and we started talking to few people in there too so the place is definitely buzzing and even tho place was really packed and busy staff were really lovely in there even tho this time of then year being xmass and all it does gets hectic everywhere in town.
Good rotation of people at the arcades too so nobody is hogging an arcade machine for hours, but some did have lines in them as they were more popular games, but same applied people kept rotating to make sure everyone got a go.
Fun for a bit of pub grub and few games and pints , but a bit on a pricey side for what you get. The drinks also were a bit odd we asked for tequila shots got confused looks from the barman when asked for some lemon and salt (we had to rob some salt from our own table as seems there was none at the bar) which is pretty weird when you're paying 6.50 a shot.
Coctails we didn't try they looked amaazing tho but compared to other places in Dublin this place was still a bit more pricey but nice they give you option also to choose custom mixes once they have the ingredients in stock.
If you like gin tho they had good selection at the bar even of some "Irish gins" that only limited amount of bottles is made per year so for place like this that was a good surprise.
Overall nice enough place, but yeah wont be somewhere you will frequent often due to being more on a pricey side.
A. C.
Fun night out. Uncrowded on a weekday which means minimal queuing for the popular games (Mariokart, Tetris, DDR, shooter games). Go for the 20e deal of main+side+drink+10tokens!! Note that some popular games are 2tokens a go instead of 1.
E. D.
Good craft beer selection, good food as usual and retro games👌
M. H.
Love this place.
Lovely food, nice beers, great arcade games.
P. G.
Great spot, lovely food too! Has all of the old classics and some great pinball machines! Well worth it!
N. B.
Super fun restaurant with great burgers and plenty of throw back memorabilia to look at!
T. C. N.
Really great place to have some fun with friends. Went with a work group and everyone had a great time. Be warned though - don't bring big bags or you'll have to check them into lockers while you're there. Lots of tasty bites available from the menu too - would definitely recommend for a group visit!
M. D.
Very nice idea AND execution!
Atmosphere and games are fun, pretty good food as well- both normal and vegan :-)
M.
A very fun place. The food was amazing and the drinks reasonably priced for the area
I was surprised that most of the machines only needed one token. The pinball area downstairs is a must.
J. L.
Great place for the nostalgic ones. They've got all the good video games from my childhood and the pinball sellection on the basement is the best. They do have a nice menu for the food, from burgers to fish to hotdogs. I will be back.
S. A.
Arcade games, food and a huge beverage menu ! What more do you want? This place was absolutely nostalgic as it sent me back some 25 years to the good old arcade days
L. D.
Awesome!! Excellent food, I had a good time with friends there. There are a lot of games to play, pinball, fliperama, dance machine, and so on.
A. N.
Brilliant experience. Food was extemely good quality and huge selection of beers and of course the entertainment after in video games. Amazing spot... be back real soon. I tried the vegan chicken burger they advertised... exactly same as pic and delicious
R. T.
A hip barcade in the heart of Dublin serving up excellent gourmet food and craft beers against the backdrop of retro arcade machines and pinball tables. A must visit!
R. M.
Brilliant evening out with friends. Food was delicious and the games are awesome !
D. C.
Excellent service and great food as always!
Gets busy so make sure to book a table

If you want to do something besides just drink at the pub with your mates like you do every weekend, Token is a great place to go. You can drink while also play video games, I come here with my friends who drink and who don't drink its a great place for everyone. Only downside is that it's extremely crowded on the weekend and food is a bit pricey
M. L.
A fun place to hang out with friends, great food and ambience.
A. M.
Love it! I can have a pint while playing Space Invaders! What more could a man want?!
H.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere, delicious cocktails and retro games!
P. G.
Awesome experience. Lots of games. Perfect place to go with friends
J. D.
Super friendly staff! Love the place so much fun wow Kev is the coolest
M. L.
Great service and they were every. Good with the coivd checks and the games were cleaned after every use
D. N.
Awesome place and definitely worth the visit for people who want to experience arcades and arcade games
L.
One of my fav Dublin pubs ever! The perfect place where to play 80s games and enjoy your time with friends
S. S.
Perfect place for a date, prices are super reasonable and you have a variety of games to enjoy.
D. B.
If you want to have fun with your friends and have a great burger. That's the right place!
A. M.
Really cool place with good beer and arcade machines
L. S.
A nice place, clean and organized. They have a system to change your money and a lot of games.
R.
The place is amazing. If you haven't gone, go. If you have gone go again. The food is so good I'd let them shoot wrong orders into my mouth using hurl. There's beer too.
A. V.
The best place to play arcade games, eating hamburgers and meeting friends.
E. B.
Very Busy...Food was fab....Great Games
F. S.
Great venue, great food, great entertainment
T. Í. H.
Excellent beer selection, great cocktails. The food was deadly and the staff happy to accommodate diets and food needs. No bun burger was no problem at all. Great for a large and small groups.
The games prices are very decent as well, and you're able to play quite a bit for a price of a pint.
D. H.
Did not like the food, but it was not bad, just kind of personal taste.
Waitress very welcoming.
Nice games.
T. P.
I love the idea of drinking and playing old school arcade games, and Token delivers just that. They have not only a great drink selection, but also a wide selection of arcade games. Be sure to check out the pinball machines downstairs! Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Would highly recommend!
E. Ó. G.
Really excellent resteraunt! A good variety of games, almost all of them two player, and a very authentic arcade experience. If you're vegan/vegetarian (like me), even with just the Covid-19 reduced menu, there's an excellent variety of vegan options. Service was quick and very good, staff were very friendly and professional. They've clearly taken every possible measure to ensure safety at this time. Their drinks menu is brilliant, with lots of beer, between normal drinks like Guinness and Smithwicks, craft beers, and a large variety of cocktails. I'd highly recommend this place if you at all like video games, or just good food and drink.
D. N.
Super cool place! Great condition arcade machines
A. B.
Me and my boyfriend ordered the 2 vegan Burger options and both were delicious!!! Also the vegan nuggets incredibly crunchy and the vegan garlic mayo was deli!!! Everything came in carton boxes which is great environmentally talking 🌱❤️
A. D.
Lots of reviews here about bad staff, I didn't find an issue with them personally.
D. D. L.
A fun geeky gamer bar with old school arcade games. The fries with bacon jam and parmesan were soooooo good!!! The fries seriously changed my life lol
G. B.
Great food. Pinball. Arcade games. Great fun.
V. M.
Great place n lots of laughs. Food bar n games for all age groups. Prices reasonable for city centre.
p. f.
Fantastic vegan food, great atmosphere.
C. H.
Great cocktails. The selection of games is brilliant and great value for money. There were three of us, we paid for 20e worth of tokens between us and that kept us busy for a good 2 hrs. Didn't eat so can't speak for the food. I would love to go back.
M. C.
Food is amazing, drink choices are amazing and they have some of the greatest arcade video games there including time crisis, golden axe, teenage mutant ninja turtles and way more. There is also loads of sweet pinball games too. Highly recommend
O. B.
The place was cool, loved the merging of games and tables. The food was also good. The 3 star rating is because of the bad service we received from our waitress. She was scowling at us every time she spoke to us and she only came to our table a couple times total. She also messed up the payment and overcharged us 20 euro, which wouldn't have been a big deal if she hadn't already given such attitude and looks at us. Otherwise, cool place. I'm sure the experience could've been better if the waitress were. The downstairs pinball room was awesome!
1. m.
I have to say that you have the most amazing chicken burger in town. It must be a fried chicken. Chips are great too... Friday’s night are good with your food.
L. V.
Delicious food, with many vegan options, kind staffs, great music and space for playing 😍
R. O.
Definitely the place for groups. Great games, great atmosphere. The food is surprisingly good (concerning how fast this place got crowded). Feels like there needs to be some kind of regulations on the games though, as there are people (probably regulars?) that stays in one game the entire night.
송.
There are only old games. But I love this atmosphere 😍
R. R.
If you like retro videogames this is your place. Food is nice too
L. H. G. (.
My friends and I had food and drinks here in December and it was my first time here, after hearing so much buzz about it.
I was pleasantly surprised, the games are all really cool (although maybe too many side scrolling fighters) and the prices aren't too bad.
The food itself was really tasty too, I had the burgers with fries and enjoyed them.
The only problem was that we felt a bit rushed to leave the table.
Granted the place was busy but we were told we could have the table for an hour and a half, yet after around 45 minutes the staff were over with us asking us if we needed anything else, aka start clearing up lads.
Other than feeling slightly hurried along, the rest of our visit was great.
C. G.
Nice food, good prices, weird door, nice bouncer, went in and some girl demanded to know why we were there, as if we could not enter without making a decision before we saw the place, just came for a look!
R. M.
Great atmosphere and reasonable prices. The only constructive feedback that comes to mind is to create more seating areas and have a better system for ordering food.
J. K.
Really fun place with authentic arcade games. Great atmosphere and lovely food. Good variety of cocktails, beers and other drinks. Has an odd layout that gives it a bit of a cramped feel but still a great place to go!
J. C.
love the "spicy" food... WARNING.... its "very" spicy and i LOVE it, also so proud of my little lad to see the 80's games are like and he love it!
w.
I had an amazing time with my boyfriend at this great place tonight! The food was incredibly delicious and the servers were friendly, attentive, and helpful! The fun atmosphere and exciting nature of eating in an arcade made this all around an incredible experience. I will definitely be returning, and recommending this to everyone I know!
S. J. B.
Super fun selection of arcade games! Just didn't like how some people are glued to certain ones and won't let others have a go - staff should work on this. Advice: place gets filled super fast so reserving a table is a MUST.
L. C.
Great idea for a bar. All the great arcade games with a well stocked bar and really good food. The tenders and the bacon jam & parmesan fries are particularly excellent.
It can get very crowded so don't come if you can't handle lots of people in a small place.
I'll definitely go again, but it wouldnt6 be every week.
l. k.
First time visiting token and it doesn't disappoint. Great place to hang with friends or go on a date! The food great too
D. R.
Cool idea. Some of the machine controls don't work very well. Good price only 50 cent per credit. I didn't try the food but it smelled great. Would recommend for anyway looking for something to do for a could of hours in Dublin city.
I. T.
The vegan chopped cheese is by far the nicest vegan thing I’ve tasted in a longggg time. It’s like a luxurious steak sandwich but vegan. Would 100% recommend.
K. C.
Decent place. They had a good selection of pinball machines and other old arcade games. Best of all at the time of my visit they had a working time crisis 2 machine. Nostalgia appreciated.
I didn't try the food because the kitchen didn't look inviting.
C. C.
Fun place to spend an evening. Very tasty food plus they have vegan options if that's your sorta thing. I feel like the game selection could be improved but it's still got enough variety to entertain, especially if you only play games on the odd occasion. The cocktails are good too with a lot of different choices so should be one to suit almost anyone. It also has a few pinball tables to play on! Can be quite crowded in the evenings so expect to wait your turn to play on the more popular games. Also book a table if you've got a big group. Overall a good evening for food and drinks with the bonus of games.
D. O.
It's cool, great atmosphere & attention to detail. Great range of beers. Food- was only down side not impressed- had the very hot fries- it was an understatement. Portions small, got sweet potato fries to soothe the heat
L. A.
If you wanna try something different you should come to this pub. They have all kind of arcade games (tokens) and the food is really good too! So if you want to enjoy something different this is your place. The price for the tokens is ok is 0,50 per coin. They have guitar hero, Mario kart, dancing, mortal combat, street fighter, X-men and more!
C. L.
Great place to hang out with friends, reasonable price and great food!
A. M.
I went here for dinner and some arcade fun with a small group of five. The food is pretty good. Loads of different options and you can choose a slightly healthier version of the same thing too. That's always a plus! I really liked the sweet potato fries and normal fries. Very tasty! I had the beef fillet tacos....the meat is a bit tough if I'm honest! I wouldn't order this again. The overall cleanliness of the place can use a little more work. Toilet was meh. The dining area is not bad but while the menus in a comic book is clever, it was dirty and a bit sticky??! Not a fan of touching it.....
Overall arcade experience was great! We all had a fun time. I would recommend it.
T. P.
What's not to love. Massive drink selection. Delicious grub and all the retro arcade games you could want for 50c a go. Thought it would be too niche for Dublin but it holds it's own as a bar, restaurant and arcade individually and all 3 combined makes it one of Dublin's best spots.
N. F.
I eat here at least once a week, love the place! The perfect spot for those obligatory pints and vegan burgers with retro video games! Really cool spot! The vegan food never fails to impress me, I've tried everything on the vegan menu at this point and it is all delicious. Recommended to all my friends!
A. K.
Very unique restaurant just outside of the center of Dublin. The arcade aspect is very fun and great for groups of people who are dining and having a couple of drinks. A great variety of dishes are available and cater to a wide range of people. Their vegan options are just as unhealthy and appealing as the "regular" options on the menu. Their bloody Mary's are one of the best I've tried
Y. L.
Great games, food and cocktails
E. M.
The food is so tasty, the games are great fun and I loved the selection of draft beers. Only thing that I HATED was the disposable knives and forks and paper plates. A whole star taken off for that, such a waste even if they are 'recyclable', they're probably not even. Really disappointed by this it made me very frustrated. Otherwise loved the food, prices, games and staff were lovely too!
D. R.
Good food, very decent beer selection and lots of fun on the arcade machines. Staff are excellent. Had a machine reset after paying and they gave us the replacement tokens without question.
Novelty might wear off after a while but definitely a fun night out and worth a visit.
Will come back again and see what beers are available and what machines have been rotated in.
E. F.
Best place to go in Dublin. They offer so many vegan alternatives to classic favourites such as burgers, spice bags and hot dogs as well as meat options! Friendly staff and quick service. They have a small smoking area with seats which Like and not forgetting the arcade games!!
A. V.
Fantastic food! We had the vegan chick burger and the quinoa hotdog, the chilli chips were fab!
O.
Love all the ''Hipster' review, shut up and enjoy it for what it is! Retro arcade games, good food and the price is not expensive for Dublin, €20 for a 2 course and a pint plus 10 tokens for the games... Not bad if I say so.. I took a few colleagues who where over from the UK in here mid week and it was a nice crowd. We got a seat quick, food was good and fast. Pints were good and they had a nice selection on tap, got to play most of the games with only a small wait. I would say at the the weekend it would be a nightmare if you are thinking of gaming. Its a good laugh and an great way to spend a few hours of feeling like a kid again. We went to a really nice restaurant the previous night which was polar opposite to here, expected good food and service but sadly we were left disappointed and it was double the price, we didn't expect much from here and the service was great, friendly and natural. The food also was very good so we left here chuffed and I have been talking about it since. Well done Token, Keep it up!
C. S.
Great games and food is nice and cheap. Drinks are also fairly priced. They are under staff most of the time which makes drinking a lot harder than other spots and the music can be a bit too loud. But it's an original bar and great young and fun atmosphere.
I. G.
Great food even for vegas or vegetarians and it's yummy!!!!... good prices too for the quality and amount of food you get. I Totally recommend this place ;)
P. C.
Great place lovely food . Has all the old video games from my childhood
C. B.
Such a fun place. Great old arcade games
Tasty interesting food
T. C.
Second time I've been here, good fun on some of the old arcade games and pinball, the food is good, I had the spiciest chicken tenders last time and they were formidable, dialled it back this time. It's a shame the tables are only available for only an hour and half but I guess with most of the real estate taken by arcade machines that there's not as much space for seating. Bar is very well stocked and lots on tap.
S. S.
Great vegan food and a quality selection of games, but be prepared to wait your turn if you are there in a busy period. Best to go on a weekday afternoon when you can take your time. Plenty of people don't seem to realise there is pinball downstairs as well!
B. M. G.
Great idea! Nice food and good, standard bars amongst an old school arcade.
We booked for a party of 10 and were seated downstairs. Tables are a little cramped down there. We had a few latecomers and wanted to wait to order our food all together but the waitress warned that the kitchen was closing soon and they were very busy and that we only had the table until nine... Hurry up! Hint hint. All valid reasons but could have been done with a nicer attitude...
In and Out burgers (2 sliders) were a hit.
One bad point for non smokers: The smoking area right outside the door (like many places) wafts right in.
J. C.
This was my favourite place in Dublin City before covid. The Buttermilk chicken is amazing and I never have a dull night playing the games. I can't wait to go back!
z. j.
Great place to crash in. Affordable food and really love the ambiance. Recommended! Will definitely be back
A. Z. B.
A run down the nostalgia lane. If you're a 80's or 90's kid you will go back in time in the arcade. The food is amazing. The bill comes in a ps2 disk cover which is really cool. The staff is super friendly. I really can't complain. You will just enjoy your visit to this place. Highly recommended.
N. J.
Even for those of us who aren't big time in to gaming, this place is a great spot to spend a few hours. The food is fantastic, easily one of the best places in Dublin for vegan (and non-vegan) street food. Can't recommend Token enough
E. O.
I really Love token! They have a really great variety of games, and I think it’s great for a night out. The food is honestly amazing! I’ve eaten there several times and never been disappointed and they always give generous portions. The 20 euro deal is great and I can’t fault a single thing about the food. They have a really good selection of beers too.
Few downfalls- service is not great at all. The odd time I’ve had a really friendly server but generally they are not that attentive or friendly and you struggle to get their attention to get bill, another drink etc. in fairness I think it could be that they don’t schedule enough staff so the servers end up over strained and not able to give each table enough attention. The only other issue is that it can get really really crowded in the evening, so much so that it can really dampen the experience, as you’re queuing for ages for the games, and when you do get to the games you have people bet up against you as you are trying to play. It’s also impossible to get through the narrow corridors without bashing into about ten people. Think restricting entry when it gets jammed could really help this. Saying that, I’ve always really enjoyed myself anytime I’ve come and I’ve been here with numerous groups, all of whom have always had a blast.

Nostalgic for an arcade? Wanting to try a new local craft beer? Need a good place to show off your mustache? Token has you covered.
They have lockers available for €2 with a key deposit of €5. That allows you to use a large locker with enough space for jackets and bags so that everyone can enjoy their drink and play a game without worrying about keeping track of their belongings.
It is important to keep track of your things, because you can only have a table for 1 hour and 15 minutes so that other guests can get a chance to eat. There are two self service tables that can be handy as well.
Token is a brilliant place for a night out with a few or many friends. The atmosphere is fun without being too noisy to hear your friend speak. We had a great time and I would recommend it to anyone who isn't scared of a hipster.
Watch out for button-mashers!
T. W. E.
Absolutely fantastic place. Brilliant selection of beers the food is weird but unbelievably good. Loads of fun games (pinball in the basement is the best). Great for groups or dates and you won't break the bank coming here either!
I. P.
Nice place, the stools for 2 people seating are kind of high but they offer a stoll to rest your feet on. The food is good, but portions a bit small. They're not dear though so it's not expected. The actual arcades are also fun! they have a pinball room and all the classic arcade games. I haven't tried booking a place for their seating area though.
S. ..
Good place to hangout with friends, had a great time in the midst of games, drinks and food...
R. P.
Nice place, there are too many games and good beers.
I had a great time so I'll back with my friends 🤗
P. P. (.
Went on Thursday night, it was quite crowded. Awesome place though. Retro arcade games including tetris, donkey Kong and Mario kart. Bunch of tables, bar for drinks, staff is cool. Free entrance. You can pay with card at the bar but you need coins to buy tokens at a little machine across the bar. Locker and a key is 2 euro but pay 7 of which 5 is given back. Cute date idea. After 4pm, 18+ only.
G. F. M.
Lovely place. The reservation through Google is very good. We were in a group of 6 friends. I spent around €20 (a vegan burger + 2 sweet potato fries + 10 coins to play). The unique point was about the reservation duration (1h30).
K. v. S.
Amazing place. Great food and selection of beers, cocktails and other drinks. The arcade games are classic 80s, Pac-Man, fighter and pinball machines. They have a dance-off as well. It’s well worth booking a. Table on Friday nights, or else you’ll be eating at the bar. But with the quality of food they serve it’s worth having a table to eat at. The 2-course menu with a beer and 10 tokens for €20 is really affordable.
N. R.
Fun place for a nostalgic night. Loads of all times arcade games such as pinball, ninja turtles, street fighter, Mario kart...Food was very good but unfortunately one of the waiters was very rude and disrespectful, what put us a bit down. Place is a bit crowded and you have to wait long to play most of the games. The music from the dancing game is way too low, losing a bit the purpose. Overall, Token is inexpensive and offers a unique experience. You should go at least once!
P. D.
Excellent food and a great idea for a restaurant/bar, but our experience with staff was not good. Told we had to put bags in lockers, but all the lockers were gone, quite a wait for some drink refills and had to ask a different server, maybe we got them on a bad night. Great selection of games though, and good fun!
S. M.
Great place for playing all sorts of games: arcade games, fighting games, pinball, dance mats etc.
Food is surprisinly very good, have tried the sliders, fries and loaded fries and was very happy.
Decent cocktails and drink selection too.
Fantastic atmosphere.
Can get quite busy so book a table in advance if you're getting food
D. W.
Awesome place with amazing food and fun arcade games. Especially love the veggie food options - so good!!
M. C.
Token is always a great place to go with your friends to have some fun :)
Amazing food options available, especially for vegetarians and vegans. Staff is always friendly and happy to help.
J. S.
This place is fantastic. I went with a friend to check it out and had a great time all around. The drinks are delicious, as is the food. They've got a great selection of games and the space is modern and clean with lots of cool details (like collectibles in the glass tables). They've also got party space downstairs with a dedicated bar.
F. J.
Lots of arcade machines, old school. Food is up scale fast food and tasty, no diet people allowed. They serve drinks. Their is two dinning areas one is very loud as surrounded by arcade machines. Other is a bit more peaceful, if you want peaceful book a decent bit in advance.
J. B.
Veggie burgers are class! Like there amazing! Get them! Great food all round and fairly cheap too. Arcade machines are mostly 50c so also great value. Good atmosphere too, the place is always jammed!
A. j.
Fab venue to do to. Great for a non drink focused night out but tailors to all. Food smells amazing and the collection of vintage arcade games keeps the fun constant. Only issue is it can add up hugely cost wise. Two pints and two hours of a few games and chats set me back €40. It is all in all a great spot to pop in during off peak days but can be difficult to get into on the weekends. The prices for drinks are good and also the range.
F. O. C.
Love the place. Everything they serve up is both exceptional and unique.
D. H.
Best arcade in Dublin, easily and hands down, but the great thing is, it's not just an arcade. The bar staff and waiters are awesome at their jobs, their selection of alcohol and cocktails is huge, and the food is bloody awesome. If you're looking for a place to zone out gaming, or a night out with friends or your significant other, go to token.
T.
Amazing place. Lots of fun playing the arcade games. And delicious burger!!!
One token is 50 cents. And only 10 can be bought by each person on one transaction.
They also have a very good selection of craft beers.
P. R.
Really nice place, great atmosphere, nice food and great selection of arcade cabinets to play. The staff are sound.
I get their rule for not having backpacks allowed in but they charge you for storing them, which is a bit stingy IMO. If you don't know the rule you'll turn up and have to pay for a locker if you want to get in.
T. R.
Great bar with friendly service and good beer. This is a game bar with plenty of old school arcade games, downstairs there is also a private room and pinball hall. Enjoyed the food here, tasty bites served from 12. Crowd is a mix but obviously it's a game bar so loads of cool people playing!
D. D.
Love this place. The food is absolutely amazing here. You can tell the kitchen staff take pride in their work. Don't let the casual nature of the dishes fool you, this is too grade stuff. Staff are fantastic and friendly. Great selection of drinks and a guaranteed great night letting off steam on the buttons of Streets of Rage or Mortal Kombat.
E. C.
Food tasted great, fairly priced, good tunes and games.
R. H.
I'm consistently happy with Token. The staff are lovely, the atmosphere is fun and the vegan food is amazing. I had the vegan cheese board tonight and it blew my mind. Would highly recommend for a good laugh, a drink and some delicious food.
S. C.
A unique bar with a great vibe. The pub food here is delicious.
N. T.
3 stars for pure novelty, this place is full of retro arcade games as well as serving decent enough food and some good vegan options for my friend.
Naturally this place is quite loud and crowded with people queueing around games they want to play next. It is also very difficult to put your drink down anywhere to play games, that coupled with the tight corners to stand in makes it difficult to manoeuvre without being messy.
M.
Finally Dublin has got a proper barcade. The guys at rage really did a fantastic job here, they really know their stuff and it shows. Food is great greasy american style while being fresh and the selection of games is also top class. I just wish the place was bigger so it could fit more games, love the new additional room the added upstairs though. The games are usually in working condition which is difficult for an operation like this. They also have a great staff who are nice cool and helpful. Would suggest it to anyone who is in the mood for a nostalgia hit with great food and drinks.
B. P.
like the concept - crowded, only OK food. We were there on a Friday, its was packed. The concept of the old games is great, and I really enjoyed that. The place was too full, and the staff could barely keep up which delayed our order. The food is only OK, oddly you can order sliders, 2 mini hamburgers instead of one, but they are 2 he same, instead of having the option of ordering a combo out of the selection... weird. All in all great concept, on wknd really loud, really packed, go on a weekday!!
C. B.
Best place for any occasion. Great selection of arcades to real kick in the nostalgia. I could live on their cooking and cocktails forever if I could it was that good. Can't wait to go again, if you haven't been you have to!
J. C.
Hidden gem of Smithfield.
From the outside you wouldn't be able to tell that there's a multi-floor coin-machine arcade with a buzzing social life going on inside.
Book in advance for food (which is tasty AF - I would recommend the Fries with Bacon Jam topping). The alcohol specials are a good money saver but other cocktails and even beers are on the expensive side. They have a good selection of IPAs behind the bar but the queue at the bar can be disastrous when busy on a Saturday night.
I would still highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to either just play coin-op arcade games (or visit the downstairs pinball room) or have a pint and watch someone try to beat the Pacman high score.
D. R.
Great place to have a few drinks and have some friendly competition with friends. There were plenty of games available and we never felt like we had to wait long to get to the game we wanted.
We didn't have any of the food but it looked and smelled delicious.
J. A.
Great food, classic arcades and good beer. I had a great time
1. 1. /.
I loved this place! The food was quality and the drinks were excellent! It was €21 for a main, a side, a drink & 10 tokens - really good value. I've read other reviews, some where people complain about the pricing, but for the quality you get, I thought it was actually undervalued! It's a very busy spot, which I enjoyed but could see where people who like a more quiet experience wouldn't like it.
M.
This is such a fun place to eat at. The food is great and they have an arcade area. My husband got the €20 deal which included a main, a drink and 10 tokens for the arcade. He got the Buffalo chicken strips and I got the salad bowl where you can take anything on the menu and turn it into a salad. Both meals were great. Glad we ran into this little place. It may get cramped at times.
J. R.
Always blast going to token. The staff there is super friendly the food choice is small but everything is delicious, They have great deals and amazing platters to share (really cool to go with much of friends and get giant platter of fries and burgers). And then obviously all the arcade games make it feel very cool and it makes my inner geek very happy! It is a badass place and definitely worth visit;)
R. F.
Loved it. Vegan food was amazing. Really fun to play games when you're not stuffing your face . I don't know anything about games but I still really enjoyed it. Thought the staff were efficient and nice. It's different and fun.
P. V.
Good fun, nice atmosphere. Good finger food (burger with sweet fries my fav) with 2 vegetarian options, good variety of drinks. No working pinballs (Feb'20) but plenty of fun depending on your taste: Mortal Kombat, Mario Kart, Pacman, Space Invaders, Double Dragon, Bubble Bobble, Street Fighter and so on, even Tetris. All in all about 30-35 arcades. Opens at 4PM and reachable preferably from Luas or other public means. Parking not really recommended in the area, from what I understand. Better fun in groups.
M. W.
Excellent food and great selection of drinks. Very busy on Friday nights though and if you want to book a table you need to do it well in advance, at least a few days. We were lucky though and got a seat after 15 minutes wait. We had burgers, fancy chips and chicken wings. The wings were meh but the rest of our food was divine. The service was excellent. Very busy on the weekends so I'll probably come back mid week next time. The games are fun and well priced.
T. T.
Food was excellent. Very filling for the portion sizes. One drawback was a part of my order was missing and it took about 15 minutes for a server to get it. It was only a coca cola, but still.
Arcades are great, place gets very busy so the sace space can be hard to manoeuvre. Otherwise, a place to hit up for something alternative in Dublin.
D. L.
Lovely place for fun with your date or friends 😊
N.
We came here for the pinball machines, didn't even realize there were arcade games until we set foot in the place!
The selection of craft beers was top and the food was what you'd expect of a well-loved arcade environment (burger sliders, yum).
What had me jumping for joy though was the selection of arcade games, the menus that were a part of old video game magazines, and the bill coming in a video game case.
All of which came together to add something special to my buds birthday and our vacation!
S. M.
Some chap saying you need to be 21 in those comments to enjoy yourself haha BAH -HUMBUG! Speak for yourself. If you want to eat somewhere that isn't exactly healthy (American owner, American style food) and has a fun atmosphere you will enjoy it here. Retro style and if you are an 80/90's kid you'll love the video games in house. Food is delicious and so is the vegan food, you wouldn't even know it was vegan. The cocktails are well made and staff a very busy but very friendly and look after you.
K. R.
A really great selection of machines, and good food and drink. Can't go wrong really.
M. L.
Certainly very busy on the weekends. A great original place though. The food is a bit expensive for what you get which is nothing spectacular. It’s a great experience though. Especially for group outings. Would definitely recommend Birthday meals here. The arcade games are great fun. Hard to get a spot on Saturday though
G.
Love the vegan options! Have to bring friends because the options change and want to be able to try everything. love the theme with the arcade games, the menus in old gaming magazines and the bill comes in a game sleeve. Highly recommend for the food and atmosphere
T. B.
The place is really fun when you're there on a non busy day. Otherwise, everything gets too crowded and you end up not experiencing it so well. Food is good, and they have a great beer selection.
A. P.
A nice spot for food which is the main reason I'd bothered going. The place specialises as less of an eatery and more of an arcade with old style machines. This seems to make the owners think that they can charge whatever they like for their food - I ended up paying 25€ for a burger, fries and drink which just isn't appropriate given the state of the place. It lacks any oomph and is in dire need of a clean. Unless you plan on making the journey as a fan of the 80's and old video games stay away.
C. V.
Such a hide gem in Dublin, there are arcade good beers, game machines, good food
h. a.
Service was not good, a little too casual yet seem strict about dumb and rude rules. We were told we only had an hour for food time at the table??... And if you "look under 25" bring an ID because they refuse you. The barman forgot to bring our drinks until the very end of our meal, where I had to remind him. These events personally put me off the experience. Food was good, toilets nice and clean. Vibe was okay if you're with good company. Overall lovely place just bad experience sadly as I was looking forward to seeing the place. Not sure why the door keepers were hostile because my girlfriend "looked under 25" we are both 23 and clearly adults. Just over for a meal and some games.
T. F.
I've only been here for drinks and games, but we had an awesome time. The cocktails are fun, there are some great local choices for beers, and all the games from my youth - Simpsons, Mario Kart, and more. Many of them were 1 token which was cool since in the States, these kinds of games are usually 2+ tokens. Also don't forget to head downstairs for the pinball machines! Great mid-afternoon stop.
N. L.
This is one of those places with their own niche that absolutely nails it. They've got the vegan options(which are to die for) down as well as all the classic arcade games, really nice drinks and the atmosphere really takes you down memory lane. At least if your memories include any form of console gaming. The menu includes a copy of your retro game magazine and the bill is presented to you in a PlayStation disc case. If consoles are not your thing, check out the pinball section in the basement.
R. V.
The place is what it promises. Beer and retro arcade games. The selection of beers and other drinks is ok. The hamburgers are very good, but don't go there expecting any healthy food.
Most important, all the games were working and we didn't experience any issue.
The only negative thing that I would say, is that they don't seem very organized with the reservations and we had to leave once because they failed to communicate us.
R. H.
Excellent food, great selection of beers and obviously the best selection of arcade games in Dublin. Prices for everything very reasonable too - cabinets are at most 50c a credit which is half of what you'd pay anywhere else for a much lower standard of game. I'll definitely be back!
T. O.
Great atmosphere, generally a good buzz. The arcade games are great fun and the food is amazing, much better than you would expect from an arcade bar! One downside is thar the bar only serves wine and beer, no spirit. However overall great fun and definitely worth a visit.
É. C. M.
Great atmosphere, especially if you were a kid in the 80's/90's. It's full of flashbacks in every corner plus the amazing food in here. I recommend anyone having the Mac n' cheese croquette and the mozzarella sticks.
f. d.
I've been to Token twice and I do love going there for the arcade machines. The food choice and service do hold the place back though. What food I do get is really great but half the menu is always unavailable, including the drinks.
The staff are not great either. They're constantly trying to get people off their tables and they're quite pushy. The staff are also pretty unapologetic when items off the menu aren't available.
Its also become a victim of its own success and trying to get a machine you really love is nigh impossible.
M. T.
Arcade games in excellent condition. I could play Space Invaders and Time Crisis 2 endlessly. Tacos were to my surprise the best I've had since I arrived in Dublin
Taking visiting friends here once this lockdown ends :)
C. W.
I love the idea.
I bar of classic arcade games with drinks and food.
Its still very new and in Beta so there are a few quirks that need to be worked out:
First its currently so busy you can only get in by being on the wait list. Even when I was on it I had to wait outside for a few minutes.
The fact its so busy right now does highlight a few design flaws. The seating is sort of crammed in between walls and games, your tables are getting bumped by people trying to get by. I think in the future they might have to move to more booth like seating, or maybe move the games to the outer walls.
The tables weren't clean, I think the staff just couldn't keep up on the Friday night when visited.
The staff themselves were all very nice, and friendly.
The games were good value, the price of drinks wasn't too outrageous.
But I think they could work on the restaurant part a little - it comes across more like a canteen. I think it will all adjust with time.
They just need to bare in mind that when people are done standing to play games they may want more space to chill, drink and chat.
I'm excited to see how it all goes, and I still definitely recommend checking it out.
C. H.
From Time Crisis to Mortal Kombat and Tetris and Space Invaders, Token has it all. All the classic retro games that kids from the 90s and naughties grew up playing are centralised here under one very unique roof. The vibe here in Token is like no other, full of vibrant energy and joy where anyone of any age (over 18 of course) can find themselves young again.
The food and bar section is incredible with comfort food that sets up a serious session of gaming after. Burgers and tacos have to be my favourites in the Cheapskate deal that includes a drink and 10 tokens for the arcade for only €21.95. It's full of fantastic staff that relates to the overall theme of the restaurant which is very quirky and relaxed.
Downstairs is the pinball section which is on another level. Honestly I haven't had so much fun loosing at a game in so long before getting obsessed with Medieval Castle and Dialed In. It's definitely worth visiting with a group of friends or even with a date since there's nothing but fun to be had here.
The private lounge downstairs can be rented out if you're looking to have a more private experience in a group which has a bar of its own and has peaked my interest too. All and all, this is a must on your personal list of activities or days out in town when bored or even after a day's work simply to unwind!
W. C.
Great service and a great selection of games.
K.
It's a nice place with a lot of fun. Different kind of beer you can find a lot of new tastes there. I wasn't so satisfied with the food. And be aware it is pretty noisy so if you want to eat and talk to your people it isn't so easy. But I had a lot of fun and enjoyed my stay.
B. K.
Great food and so much retro fun ti be had here
N. C.
Great vegan food options. The team catered to our large group and were really friendly and helpful. You get tokens to play on arcade games after you've finished eating. Go!
M. S.
LOVE this place. Been here countless times now with so many different friends and they all love it too. Very new, so there are some quirks and shortcomings. All very forgivable for how new it is. Good drinks selection at average prices. Games are a good value coming in at 50 cent a play. Food is great aswell, tho be sure to book a table in advance if your eating with friends. Whole setting is well done. Not overly gimicky with a minimal interior focusing mostly on the machines. Only place like this in Dublin right now.
S. K.
Over 30 different arcade machines make Token a really cool place to have a pint. The food is great and the range of spirits and beer mean there's something for everyone. Bonus: it's not as loud as you'd think despite the games, so you can still pop in for a pint and a chat with great atmosphere even if arcade classics aren't your thing!
H. G.
Such an awesome place! I had a Cheesed Off Hotdog with a side of Herb Fries. I also tried one of my friends Bacon and Mac Cheese Croquets - stunning! Food arrived decently quick after we ordered, despite it being busy. The real draw are the arcade machines that generate massive amounts of nostalgia, as every cabinet Token has I remember from my childhood - all killer, no filler. Don't forget to head downstairs for the pinball machines either!
D. H.
Cool atmosphere. Bring your euros if you want to play some classic arcade games. The cabinets are pretty close together so get ready to squeeze in. More pinball machines on the lower level.
V. F.
One of my favourite pubs in Dublin. The food is really good, which is a plus. But also, you can play arcade games and they have a whole space for pinball in the basement. The space is really cool and fun.
C. L.
Great place for a party or meet-up. The games are great and the drink is reasonably priced.
S. O.
The novelty of the 80's retro arcades wear thin after a while. In saying that this is a great place to go as a group with friend or colleagues. Food is okay, essentially pub grub(to be fair it is a pub). Decent place to stop in as a group for a couple of hours before heading out. Beware it does get busy, so booking tables is a must.
J. P. P.
It’s a really cool place. It takes you to your childhood (if your were born in the 80’-90’) they have a lot of arcades and one of my favorites: time crisis II. The food was good and the stuff super nice. It’s a really good place for expending time at any time. Very crouded but wonderful
M. P.
Food is amazing! Choice of games is too, what marks it down is the staff and service. It’s so slow when it comes to getting drinks but so rushed when it comes to food. Felt like the bill was thrown at the table and we were pushed off it before we even had a chance to pay. They need to reconsider they’re booking policy and who I assume was a manager/supervisor needs to have a lesson in customer service.
D. S.
Cool spot, although very crowded because of that. The food was really nice with a good portion size, but a little expensive. Also doesn't have a cloak room. There are lockers for storage, but only a handful that sell out quickly.
W. C.
Great bit of nostalgia with games I use to play when I was a kid. Not a huge amount but a good choice none the same. They have pin balla downstairs too. The food looked amazing but was a little bland for my liking but will try something different again when eating. Good deal for a main, a side, a beer or unlimited soda with 10 tokens for €19.99 Place does be cold I found. Kids can go until 4pm. My 8 year old loves it.
C. G.
Vegan food was delicious. Great atmosphere too! Staff were really friendly, particularly a food runner named Aaron we met last time we were there, he was really helpful and when are order came wrong he was so accommodating and didn't make us feel like we were annoying him at all. Great member of staff 👍
G. J.
Really cool place to play some old school arcade games and pin ball machines. There is a locker area so you can put your jackets and any unnecessary items away safely for the night. My only gripe(s) was the price of some of the beers...I mean, c'mon, they were sold in cans and fetched €6.50+ absolute joke. Secondly, the tables were not to be sat at unless you were eating. So, if I wanted to visit and just have a beer you either have to stand and play a game or just simply stand. That's not really ideal for a group of 4-6 people who would like to dip in and out of playing games while still having or leaving your beer at the table so you can have a chat while still taking in the buzz of the place. Other than those two gripes, it's a pretty sweet spot and hidden gem in Dublin, although a bit of a walk out of the city centre to get to.
D. G.
Greta place to play some classic games. No suitable for kids as open bar. Great for groups has a facility to organize big groups! Had a great night at a business event tonight!
S. L.
Amazing food. Had it deliveres, tried both burgers-vegan and cheeseburger, were great. Excellent fries, too. Can't wait to visit the place itself when safe. Highly recommended!
C. C.
Some of the best food around. The staff are lovely and beyond cordial. I had a problem with deliveroo and the staff took care of it instantly. Highly recommend them, especially the spicy chicken!
K. K.
Great arcade/restaurant. I've eaten here a good few times and loved it. The cheapskate deal is great value and the games are more than a novelty. A great place to go if you want to have fun after your meal.
B. J.
Just off the main square in Smithfield, this is an old school gaming arcade and bar restaurant combined. In its desire to be funny, the menu is quite cryptic. The food was tasty, though very much in the "upmarket fast food style" . Service was average. And of course because you are essentially eating in an amusement arcade, it's quite noisy, and there are lots of people moving around between the tables. Downstairs there are pinball machines, which I really enjoyed. That distinctive sound of those electromechanical machines really takes me back to my youth.
S. H.
Nostalgia, Nostalgia, Nostalgia. Loved this place. Food looks great and reasonably priced. If you plan on eating book in advance, since the place has a limited amount of tables. They do not serve food if you don't have a table. If you don't find a table you can drink and play. The machines have drink holders!
Also, if are so inclined, you can bring your 50pent coins to play...they double as the tokens. They also have a token station for your chip card.
And my favorite part.... This place is 18+ only.
S. H.
This place is amazing. Incredible food served by very positive upbeat staff. Many of the arcade classics are there and tokens are about 50c per play. It's not expensive and a great place to spend the day.
E. C.
Great fun venue, a good cross selection of 80's and 90's arcade cabinets and the food is quite good. Wide range of beers and the staff are very nice. Can get quite full, but it adds to the charm.
N. M.
We've been there a few times before and it was really great but today they had taken the brill cheapskate deal off the menu, a lot of the machines were out of order and we didn't get any little sweets with our bill. Sounds trivial but these were the things that set token apart and made us want to return again and again. We are quite disappointed to be honest because we really love this place.
m. a.
It was my first time in token , they have good old 90z games which I have played in my childhood it’s nostalgic to come to this place have a good dinner that tastes scrumptious and play some games. While the games are engaging and allows two players to play and complete, that’s the best part. My fav game was the Mario ride since I like Mario and love car racing so why not be it my fav. They do have a wide range of cocktails 🍸 it’s good in its own way.
C. E.
Amazing place to eat great vegie burgers and play great arcades
C. B.
Definitely one of my favourite restaurants. Staff are very friendly and nice. Food was amazing and the cheap skate deal is brilliant as you get a main a side a drink k and ten game tokens. Would definitely go back again
C. M.
Very good food and drink options. Kids are welcome up until 4pm. It can get very busy however so expect to be queuing for most of the games if it is even a little busy. Great atmosphere though. I hope it sticks around for a long time!
M. P.
Love the vegan Big Mac, never thought it could be replicated. Great place for food and bit of back to the future with all their arcade games!
A. H.
I love this place! It's quite popular so don't go too late I would say, but you always have a chance to try everything, at least I did :). The food is good too. Definitely a place to go for arcade games lovers or for the curious :)
N. M.
Nostalgia central!!! Great place for a different kind of evening/day. It's impossible to get bored as they seem to change some of the machines every month!
At €20 for 50 tokens and most machines only take a single token it's a very reasonable night out for the fun to money ratio.
The food here is simple but always top notch quality! I can never visit without getting some of the gorgeous steak tacos and a vegan brownie.
10/10 keep up the awesome work Token!
L. S. W.
To be sure this place is a great deal of fun! A craft beer bar with video games and pinball machines. Do you need anything else? Well, maybe some food which I didn't notice being served. But if you are looking for a fun atmosphere and to rediscover your nostalgic youth playing PacMan this place is for you! The 'Tokens' to play the games are very reasonable price wise too.
A. G.
Lovely burgers and authentic atmosphere.
M. P.
I have mixed feelings about my feelings about my visit to Token. The venue is great, the beer selection is fantastic, Conor and I loved the fries. The only real negative of our visit was the burger, the meat patty was beautiful but the overall construction of the burger let it down, too much mustard, and bacon jam that was there but you couldn't taste. Conor and I discussed the burger and we give it a 6 and a half.
F.
Are you a hipster under the age of 21? If yes this place will be heaven for you. Nothing wrong with bar and unique take with retro arcade games and classic pinball machines available. However if your over 25 you are probably already too old even if you pretend to yourself that you're still able to mix it with the college kids.
E. H.
Great food, great pinball and a super meal deal with 15 tokens for the games! Can't wait to go back :)
Edit to 3 stars.. I forgot they use plastic knives and forks - which I don't understand, in this day and age.
M. G.
Very fun and inexpensive place. Sit down and have a pint out of the big selection they have on tap or one of the many more they have bottled whilst enjoying some really good food that comes out of their kitchen. Before you sit down or after you have had your meal, be sure to play a game on one of their arcades or pinball machines that they have. You will thouroughly enjoy yourselves for the whole night if you go here and its not even expensive!
A. O. H.
Went on a busy Friday night at about 7:30 pm with no booking and was only waiting 5 minutes for a table! Really really good food and great buzz around the place. The whole st yo was really cool and there was a huge amount of games. Staff were really friendly. Highly recommend!
n. r.
Had an absolute whale of a time there this evening with the hubby!! The place is amazing!
We were told we had to wait 1 1/2 for a table but the food was totally worth it plus there was plenty to do while we waited what with all the retro games.
Not at all expensive at 50c a game it can be the perfect cheap date night. You could go out on €30 if you didn't eat. A few drinks and €10 on tokens and you are sorted.
Could not recommend it enough. Staff were so nice especially Neil the downstairs barman who was so helpful and Lucy who is just the nicest person ever. Our server who soooo nice (can't remember her name sorry) didn't stalk us but made sure we were ok for every thing. Even the staff who weren't serving us were engaging with us!
It actually felt like I was back in Cesears palace as a 13 year old!!!!
I only have 1 small fault...needs more games😂😂
E. D.
My favorite bar in all of Dublin! So much fun to go to with a group of friends. The food is all good quality bar food and the beer selection was good as well. Only downside was the slightly slow table service but that’s more dependent on the time of day you go.
F. L.
Token is a restaurant – bar – retro arcade – pinball parlour – event space. They have over 32 machines, 22 taps, and an extensive menu for all tastes. The food consists take on high-end fast food. Whether it be an out n in burger, vegan calamari, deep fried Oreo cheesecake bombs, or extremely hot chicken – all of dishes are cooked to order. They host events, gaming and not gaming-related, ranging from film screenings to board game meet-ups to pinball leagues to eating challenges to beer tastings.
M. M.
A bit noisy in dining areas. Good atmosphere. Great staff who are very attentive. Vegan-friendly. Cool decor. Great location next to the Lighthouse Cinema. Love the cocktails <3
S. M.
Great arcade games and fair beer selection. Food/restaurant service is very inefficient, however. Takes a lot of time to get seated and at one point we were told to order at the bar upstairs when we were seating downstairs.
J. P.
Nice concept, good games.
Table service took some time and when we got our food is wasn't very warm anymore, but food was nice either way.
Pinball machines are in bit too dark place, sometimes it was difficult to see the balls, so bit more light to downstairs.
P. S.
Great atmosphere, loads of games, get nice menu. Only just starting out but this place has loads of potential
C. R.
I'm a massive gamer and I absolutely love food and dining, so I'm going to try to be completely unbiased because the thought of an oldschool arcade and a restaurant/bar combined is a dream come true for me.
But I have to say... This place is pretty cool! A lot of reviews are complaining about too many arcade games taking too much space and cramping the restaurant. While it's a little tight...the selling point of this business is most certainly the arcade gaming. So I absolutely do not agree with taking some games out for more space. I would actually love them to have more games! But onto the dining experience.
I'll be honest I didn't expect much, considering the fact that the aesthetic here is an oldschool arcade style. But the food was delicious! A great idea taking a simple fast food like a hot dog and adding a more fine-dining twist to it. It isn't fine dining, but it's miles better than an average hot dog. This goes for the fries as well. Amazing.
My only gripe was one waitress being snappy and rude, saying to my girlfriend and myself, as she walked away, that we only had "an hour and 15 minutes starting now" ....wow....
I don't know if this is an actual rule they have for customers, but it's a terrible one. Get rid of it. No one ever wants to be told they have only a limited time to experience any restaurant. When you're under pressure like that, it ruins the moment. Other than that rude waitress, the other waitress who took our orders was lovely and very polite. So we only had to deal with the first waitress for a brief period of time.
Nonetheless, if the manager(s) are reading this, this shouldn't happen. And get rid of that silly timed table rule if that's actually a thing. If you're expecting customers to pay a pretty penny for their meal, the worst thing you can do is pressure them with a ticking clock. For that and the weirdly snappy waitress, it knocks the stars down for me.
If the timing issue goes away I'll come back to eat in a heartbeat because there's serious serious potential here. No doubt it's doing extremely well, but that doesn't excuse arrogance.
Overall, it's a fun time and a good experience. Food is pretty tasty and the gaming aesthetic is just awesome. It's loud and crowded, but expect that with this kind of restaurant. You can't expect people to be completely silent when they're getting nostalgic about the outstanding collection of games they have. Really impressive stuff! Will be back again for Mortal Kombat II
T.
I really love this place! A lot of great games and good food. They have a good selection of different kind of beer. If you really like craft beer this is your place.
D. K.
Small bar with vintage videogames. Good for fun. Main courses cost around 10 euro but are smaller than a portion of fries. Not a good place to eat if your are hungry.
m. s.
Great place if you what something different. Fantastic food and a great selection of drinks.Their sliders look small but added to a side you will be more then happy. After eating, grab a bag of tokens and enjoy some old school gaming or some pinball.
Well worth checking them out on Facebook.Been to some great events here.
E.
Great place for some casual food and drinks, or just hanging out and playing some great retro games or if you prefer table top games downstairs. The menu caters for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and vegetarian customers. The cheapskate deal is very good value, just €20 for a main, side, an alcoholic beverage and 10 game tokens.
R. B.
Fantastic dining experience.
Fab food was so full afterwards I couldn’t manage dessert but had fun on the game machines.
Deffo recommend to anyone who wants to relive their childhood gaming experiences.
Did have to wait for a table so I do recommend booking before you go as it was busy.
We went on a Sunday night.
Staff where great very busy but like I said was a full house so took a wee while to order but deffo worth the wait.
My boyfriend and I really had an awesome experience and we will deffo be visiting again in the future.
Keep up the good work guys big thumbs up.
R. Q.
Go quite often on a Thursday/Friday. Cheapskate deal is great. Was in for first time on Sunday yesterday and had our only bad experience so far with the service. Waited upwards of 40 mins for food with one of us having their food for 10 mins longer than the other. The manager was very kind and helpful though and took the food off the bill. Will be back!
M. E.
Amazing burgers/hot dogs, very decent cocktails (try the dk one) staff very nice, arcade games varied for a 3-4 hours session, 10€ tokens is good for casual gamers, 20€ to try everything a couple of times. During peak hours, loads of wait on time crisis and Mario kart, and it's getting crowded a lot 19-22 in week / 20-00 week end. Not suitable for families with children & babies.
J. T.
Love the concept but the execution leaves quite a bit to be desired.
The arcade games are reasonably priced and the variety is good (even if 3 of the pinball machines, including the best one, were broken on my visit). There can be quite a bottleneck near the machines as people wait for a turn which is to be expected. Aside: The pouch you get with the coins in is a nice touch.
The big let down was the food. There is almost no organisation on this front. The servers have to wade through the arcade machines to get to the tables so there was quite a lot of reversing and squeezing yourself out of the way to let them through. I was part of a group that had reserved to eat at a specific time and ordered/paid for food in 24 hours in advance. We got seated 1 hour late and the food arrived about 30 mins after that. For €11 each, there was definitely not enough food, which is a shame as the food tasted quite good. So at the moment, would not recommend eating here.
This is still a cool place to go for a drink and some gaming but maybe wait a few months for the problems to get sorted and for the hype to die down.
K. L.
Everything about this place is lovely. Great vegetarian options. Great staff.
Just a suggestion, why dont you use one of your halls/room just for all arcade games and the other one as a restaurant, rather mixing it both.
G. Q.

Probably my favourite location to go out to in Dublin, it's the dream of any nerd metastasized into a singular location. It can get very packed very quick due to its size but that should honestly only be a giveaway of how great Token is.
D. O.
I'm not vegan but when I hear of good vegan food, I like to give it a whirl. This is the best vegan food I've ever had.
I also liked the novelty of the games. That said, if I'm going back, it's definitely for the food!
P. H.
The games are great and pretty damn cheap to play, considering the typical prices for arcade games.
I found the staff a bit lazy and rude when I was here, most tables didn't have the napkins refilled and bar staff were finding people to take order from, rather they stood back and waited for you to grab their attention.
Food was nice but the portion sizes are a bit small.
The arcade games save this from what would otherwise be a bar I'd avoid, hope things improve over the next few weeks as they have only just opened.
K. T.
Really cool arcade-bar-diner place that’s tonnes of fun. They’ve got a great selection of 80s-2000s arcade games, delicious burgers and a decent selection of pints. Be aware that it’s a smallish place and it can get fairly crowded on weekends
S. H.
I've been twice it's a great night out €20 will get you a meal and a generous handful of tokens to get you gaming on the arcade classics.
The food is phenomenal, the place churns out high end versions of classics like tacos, sliders etc. that look as good as they taste without terrifying the palate's of the 'meat and potatoes and nothing weird' crew. Whoever is running that kitchen is doing a great job; there's genius there.
The arcade itself is fertile ground to indulge cool-nerdom with a pinball alley with pinball domed roof. This much fun should be illegal.
I deducted a star because it's become a victim of its own success. They're taking bookings for tables when they don't have space. The place is jammers and it's hard to get at the games to play them. So go off peak and enjoy. It might be time open Token2.
H. W.
Food and drinks were delicious, great selection for vegans and the cheapskate deal is great value. The only thing I would suggest is that they take bookings for their tables for three people or less, people crowded the bar and all of the games and it was an awfully long wait. When you did put your name down, people ahead of you would just leave and so there were loads of empty tables but we still waited 40 mins
J. M.
It's pretty much exactly how you want it to be. The new space (from opening up onto the building next door) is very welcome. Food is excellent. Use of single use plastic cutlery the only downside, everything else was really great.

This place is very unique in Dublin and the atmosphere inside is much more unique. The place is offering a great variety of old school games with new gen ones. Beers are very good and multiple options are available like most of the pubs in Dublin. Downstairs is also available a room with table tennis and other cool stuff to make your night out very entertaining and never boring. The food is also nice although I didn't try all the menu but I'm confident that is all pretty much good. The coins provided for the games are collected in a very personalized pouch that you will be able to bring home and use it as you want. Is a great experience, just go. P.s. don't forget your girlfriend inside as it might happen :)
T. B.
Great spot, nothing like it in Dublin so it was a great day when this place opened. The food is great, try the bacon jam fries. This place looses is a star because as a hard core gamer I feel the selection of games should of been more taught out. To many clone titles because they are sticking to strictly to a specific year bracket of gaming for the most part. Few other details annoyed me like the fact mario cart is twice the price of every other game but if you come in first there is no winner stays on hot seat. All arcade games should have winner stays on to encourage a real gaming community spirit. All high scores should be saved. The flaw with this place is that it's a dinner bar with games in it, not a games place that serves food, it feels stuck in limbo between the two

This place is so unique and such a great concept! The tokens are really affordable for the games and drinks aren''t too overpriced. We didn't eat here but the menu looked great!

I usually steer away from places that seem to be too hipster but was pleasantly surprised. The food was great - they have a 2 person platter which includes two mains, 2 sides and a dessert for about 30 quid and it's all delicious. The service was really good too - from the hostess at the door to the barmen and waiters. That's one thing that puts me off from many places but these guys know what they're doing and they do it well.

This place is incredibly unique for Dublin. There's a wide array of games, with the cabinets being rotated and replaced often. I'm personally fond of the pinball downstairs. The food is wonderful too, some really interesting fusions and combos. It's a great group experience, to go and eat and get some beers and play a bit of Tekken or the TMNT game, or if you have a few too many drinks, one of the dance machines... I will say that unless you have a table booked and plan to eat, it's very hard to find space for yourself as it's mostly cabinets with a few tables. Otherwise you're perching on some of the slim counters along the sides. As far as cost goes, it's typical enough for Dublin. Games aren't expensive, food isn't mental expensive, and the beer is typical craft beer prices too, with a good selection for those so inclined to try something a bit different. It's a 'fun night out with a gang of folks' kind of place.

Token is an interesting spot and first of its kind for Dublin. On the positive side the food is top notch and the prices are reasonable. Did main courses and 10 pints of beer on a group of 5 for about €120.
The arcade games are good craic and there are some very nostalgic ones there for the older people heading in. The crowd that it attracts is very broad as well from hipster to diva and everything in between.
The only negative I could say about Token is that between the sound from the games, the general hum of chat that comes with a restaurant and the volume of their music (set high enough to hear it over the first two) I can understand why some people would consider it noisy. They could definitely do with turning the volume down a notch on the music but otherwise great spot and overall 5 star worthy

This place bring me back in 90's...in a good way!If you feel like playing Mario cart or Street fighter this is a place to go.Bonus is basement area where you can choose from a range of pinball machines!
But that's definitely not all...food menu is not big but it's really tasty and there is also big range of nice craft beers!
D. G.
Good food, great games although it was quite crowded even before you had people show up. With the limited space they have, they crammed a lot of games in. Pinball area is downstairs, and there's a token machine next to the room but no ATM to get more cash so come prepared.
E. K.
A unique little arcade game themed bar that serves an excellent catalogue of drinks as well as fresh, good value food. The low light and hum of the crowd surrounding the cabinets is a must see for the classic gaming fan or those who appreciate a bar that isn't trying to just fit in. A great addition to the larger Smithfield area.

I've been to Token many times since it opened and it's such a fun place to go! Yes it oozes retro out door but the food is just as amazing as the arcade machiness, hands down the best place in Dublin for Vegan food 😁
S. K.
So, this place is amazing if you're any sort of nerd about superheroes. Marvel, comics, you name it. It's an arcade pub, with super cheap tokens to buy to play at least 25-30 different games. Very 80s, very cool, very much fun if you went. 😉😊
M. H.
I can’t rate meal quality, but I don’t think this is the place you would go for regular meal or dinner. There is a lot of noise from all the arcades and during the day time lot of kids are playing around.
Could be seen as an arcade bar with a cuisine though.
A. O. S.
The food is amazing here. I loved the fried chicken sliders. They also do a margarita which has buckfast in it - delish! The games are fun, especially the dance mat and they do a great beer, main and a side for €20 with ten tokens.
S. O.
No place like it! Great for all ages and the vegan menu is super impressive
P. G.
Vegetarian big Mac is awesome. Good food and nice place to hangout
A. A.
Staff is legendary, food is stupendous and vegan friendly if that suits you. Not to mention wall to wall arcade classics and did I mention there's Alcohol?! Christ you're still reading this... Go to token now.
S. S.
Great place very casual to have a few drinks and food. Also brings me back to my childhood with the arcade games. The food is excellent especially for the price. A bonus is they now serve whiskey!!
G. O.
Very unique place with their retro arcade and pinball machines. Absolutely amazing food for vegans and meat eaters alike and a great selection of cocktails and beer. Great place to spend an evening with friends and a great date spot.
B.
My friend and I went recently and we found loads of vegan options, which made ordering more fun! Definitely recommend the vegan spice bag - whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or just want to mix it up - you can while experiencing amazing flavors. Also got the Vegan Chick which was yummy and filling for being two sliders and of course, the churros. Delicious food, really kind staff, a bit loud depending on when you go but still a good time.
D. S.
Went to a d&d meetup and had a blast. The food is good and inexpensive and we had so much fun playing retro video games. I highly recommend for maybe a quirky date night or just to cure mid week blues.
L. M.
Food was fine but nothing special. Place was busy to hard to try more than a few arcade machines. Worst pint of orchard thieves I've ever had. Cool to play original Pacman and DK games though
E. O. C.
Bit crowded and there's nowhere to wait for the popular machines (DDR AND Mario Kart).
The food is lovely, though. The 20€ deal for a main, a side, a drink and 10 tokens is great.
Wonderful vegetarian and vegan options as well.
B. “. P.
Awesome nostalgic place with nice food and, as usual in Ireland, a great selection of beer.
I spent around 20 euros, had a beer, a couple mini burgers and played for little less than 3 hours.
Expensive to eat and drink but I felt too amazed while playing not to five-star it.
G. L.
Good food, nice atmosphere and a good Selection of games, including dance dance Revolution, Tekken tag, time splitters, ghosts and goblins, pacman, mario kart, mortal combat, pinball etc!
In terms of food, there was a really good selection of fast food style burgers/ hot dogs. There was also a decent vegan selection
They have lots of beers on tap, and a great selection of cocktails!
J. B.
The place has a great atmosphere and a lot of fun games to enjoy and a few cool beers i've never seen before.
I ordered two burgers and both of them were burnt on the sides and my first one had a crunch that tasted like coal a bit and thats why im not giving it 5 stars. I think the food was just an accident in this case and that it will be all good the next time i visit
G. “. P.
Arcade games, pinball machines, good beer, awesome bar food, and retro looks. Token really nails that 80ties feeling, and adds a modern twist to it. Most of my work outings with my colleagues end up in Token. I only wish the place was bigger, as it attracts a large crowd so the wait to get a table could be pretty long.
E. M.
Pretty cool spot, its not a regular bar though and its difficult to just have a drink there if you're not playing the games. It was very busy on Saturday night but id definitely go back when its quieter. The food looked nice but it was an hour wait for a table.
T. P.
Great place for the kids, not so much if you arent into games and loud noises while you eat. Drinks menu was good and cocktails are a decent price for Dublin. We ate mostly vegan food, of which there was a good enough selection, in fact, the choice is why we went there. The food we ate was so-so. It looked fab but lacked flavour. It was certainly lacking pizzaz, the buffalo bites could have actually been made with hot sauce, the salad could have had a tastier dressing, and the chilli cheese fries didnt taste of chilli at all. A lot of promise but could be so much better. The service was excellent and I would return again to try some other options.
L. R.
The games are excellent, the food is even better. Great place to pass a couple of hours. Could possibly do with making the outside more inviting, only for I was looking for Token I wouldn't have known what was inside the building or if it was even open.
S. O. R.
Only been once but I had a great time, even though it was a little bit too busy. Having all games only costing one token was great, felt like I got value for my money. Didn't have the food but it looked lovely.
G. M.
Food is really nice and very quick to hit the tables but initially just sitting twiddling our thumbs at the table waiting for service. Way too packed and busy. Remove some of the arcade machines and it would be a bit nicer.
R. W.
Expected better!! Such a good concept, but nearly all the old arcades are a bit faulty. Plus the layout ain't great, you can't get past anyone or play the arcades properly
S. L.
Token has a vegan option for every non veggie option which is great. Arcade games and great cocktails as well as a normal bar! It's really good fun.
B. F.
Great food and pinballs I played were all working great
L. V. B.
The Kim Jong Love tenders made my day. There are some really fun pinball machines in the basement and there were some cool machines upstairs (hi Time Crisis). The service was a bit lacklustre but I suppose that's on brand for an arcade.
R. M.
Great venue ,nice food and some awesome retro games donkey Kong, street fighter to name a few. Definitely value for money with the cheapscate deal. Desert was awesome deep fried Reece's peanut buttercup 😀
A.
great enjoyable place perfect for date night
U. O.
5 stars for atmosphere, food, VALUE, company, and over all experience. Great vegan options. Would recommend cheapskate deal! Brilliant classic arcade games!
M. A. B. R.
Very fun a different place in Dublin if you like arcade games. Great food with vegan and gluten-free options.
e. b.
Not a great experience, was absolutely packed. We had nowhere to sit, there were no lockers left to put in bags coats etc. We couldnt get food as a result of having no seat. Couldn't even get onto a machine downstairs and the only free table was reserved. Might try again another time as menu does look tasty.
F. O.
Well, I'm really surprised yesterday when I arrived in Token because the place a amazing energy and different games.so actually I don't like games but now I'll be back soon. excellent foods, drinks and happiness stuff. thanks everyone for my great experience yesterday.

Fun place to hang out and play video games in Dublin Ireland. The location has a number of vintage video games and a special room to play board games. They currently offered a special where you order a meal and drink and get 10 free tokens. Not sure how long this special will last. Food was good, had a side salad that was awesome. Cocktails are amazing and the soda option is bottomless. Keep your glass until you have had your fill.
K. O.
Well what can i say, classic arcade games while having drinks and food, fantastic. Staff were amazing, food was brilliant, and the selection of ganes was great. Only downfall is, its not cheap for food and drinks, food is worth it but drinks seemed steep
J.
Fantastic arcade place with all the classics. Food is great, beer is good and prices are fair. I would avoid Friday evening's though as it can be quite crowded.
L. M.
Three words. Fun fun fun! This place is such a great idea. Loads of old retro video games and pinball machines that you need to purchase tokens to use and you get them in a cool little bag. Time crises, teken, mario kart, pacman and many more. Bar selling loads of different beers and cocktails and you can order food too. Definitely worth a visit!
A. M.
Great "Cheapskate Deal" for food a drink and tokens. Just like a real arcade, it's always full of excited people. Means you might wait for a specific machine (Time Crisis) but it's great craic. Fab spot
J. L.
Sometimes I go there and imagine I'm Kevin Flynn from the Tron series and that wonderful delusion lasts until youfinally decide to leave, step outside the door and transition slowly back to Dublin centre.
It's a nostalgia blast but not by any means it's only charm. The chicken brisken with onion gravey and a cold glass of Elvis Juice is very tasty. Staff seem to be at least as happy as the thrilled patrons. The games are well maintained and selected. Hope they can keep up these standards because the whole experience is a unique, fun, gen x, millenial cultural achievement.
C. M.
Great service and very very decent food for the price. The bar offers very good cocktails and craft beer. Few games would need fixing but overall a fun night out with the lads!
A. V.
Thought this place was amazing. As soon as I walked in, I heard the music playing, the awesome vibe was contagious. I ordered a heap of vegan food and still love the taste in my mouth and hour after. Will be back looking cooler, bring hubby and without my kids. Lol
B. C.
Great place good games. Was expecting more but had a great time..great place to hang out have a drink nice food play some games..enjoyed it will be back. Friendly staff nice clientele...well worth a visit.
B. C.
It was great fun. Coming from the Entrance there are many arcade games and downstairs you even have a pinball room. Would love to visit again

Great experience, great food, great staff
A. O.
Great spot for a drink, amazing vegan food options - best vegan burgers in Dublin! Whole load of arcade games. Lovely staff.
E. H.
BEST VEGAN BURGER IN DUBLIN. the vegan big mac is absolutely incredible. Staff were super nice too.. Only marking them down because they use plastic straws!
S. R.
Try the smoked chilli fries, and the blue ghost drink. The place has a lot of games, and nice staff. You can drink a lot and have fun with the games and pinball tabes. Definitely deserves a new visit
L. B.
Good food, great atmosphere and amazijg games options. To make the most of Token head on a Sunday afternoon and have free reign of all the games. The new Star wars game is amazing.
C.
Very fun place and delicieus food
W. C.
It's a nice concept. Cramped, Dirty but novel. The place didn't seem busy when I went, there were tables free but every machine had a queue, when you got a chance on a machine you were back to back with another person playing a separate machine. People then pushing and bumping past to walk through, the novelty soon wore thin.
Loved the Simpsons pinball machine but the rest were hit and miss. Especially the Adams family one, it didn't seem level and the flippers were constantly getting stuck. Food was ok, long waits.
I got the chicken sliders, would've preferred a proper chicken fillet burger but they don't do that. Salad was very wet which soaked the bun and everything was super salty. And the toilets we're absolutely disgusting, hadn't been cleaned in awhile it seemed.
C. C.
Very fun place. They have a wide wariety of pinballs and classic games (like time crisis 2 or tekken, mortal kombat, space invaders..). They offer drinks and dinners and for 20 euros they offer a main course with a side, a drink and some tokens for the machines. I would totally go back!
D. M.
Love it. Food shamaz, all yet regular and different pints, cans and bottles. Plus a cheap skate deal that has arcade tokens to boot. Just do it!!! Vegan friendly too. Totes do Token
B. N. M.
Cool place, nice vibe, good for a night out but I wish they'd change the cutlery, I get that it's for aesthetic reasons but plastic knives and forks? I'd say they could sacrifice that and still keep their vibe lol
Also the allergen warnings aren't that clear (ex: when we ordered the vegan burger which says it's gluten free it turns out that only the bun is gf )
Besides that it's a nice place, a good few vegan/veggie options :)
B. P.
Fantastic place, great atmosphere and really good food too. I just love the vibe this place has. Then, also, it’s worth noting they have delicious mozzarella sticks - and who doesn’t want delicious cheese sticks.
C.
Loved this place! Great fun and lovely food. Only downfall is there is no where really to sit if you're not having food apart from outside.
B.
Great to see and be in a place like this.
Few classic arcade games & pinball for a ball of a time.
Only down downside is the food portions for the price you pay is dismissal. After spending €16 on some food I was very hungry after the food
R. A. S. P.
Very nice place and atmosphere to hang out with friends, but not for a hardcore gamer though. Arcades controls are very defective, which is frustrating for who plays competitive.
M. S.
Quiet a great suprise, great and tasty food and nice service. We went there looking for a rarely place with arcade machines (if you are a fan of ancient arcade cabinets, with original vinyls and pinballs machines, you have to go)
Nice touch giving the receipt in a videogame case xD
Althought the burger was juicy, it was a burn outside, that's my negative note.
F. Q.
From one arcade bar to another, good job guys! Enjoyed my visit on a recent trip to Dublin and hope the site expansion goes to plan. My only minor gripe, get rid of those flatscreen arcade monitors (CRT till I die) and throw that space invaders machine in the bin, otherwise super! Look forward to visiting again sometime and if you are in London do pay us a visit. Joe (4Q co-owner)
