Prices were reasonable.
We were seated in the upstairs area.
It was a beautiful room.
We were quite squished into our table, but we're a large group so it's understandable.
There was decent space between tables in the upstairs area.
The down stairs area appeared rather cramped.
Both my starter and main were fish and we're very fresh and delicately cooked.
K. B.Lovely staff and very nice surroundings. Ordered a steak and was somewhat disappointed. Too fatty snd stringy. I guess you would call it "B" quality. No steak knife available and ALL other cutlery was starter size!! No other size available. Still, overall experience was good. Would go back again, but not for the steak!!
N. M.We have been coming here for over 15 years. The food and service have always been excellent and consistent. Many of the staff are the same over those 15 years, and the menu has not changed too much either. Cosy tables downstairs and upstairs and a lovely atmosphere to enjoy fine food. Very good kids food too. An excellent weekend lunch menu and an early bird menu too. Can't recommend this place enough. (Also sang happy birthday to my wife on most recent visit which will be a lifelong memory :) )

A. D.Overall disappointing experience and expensive place for what you get. The atmosphere is nice inside and on the terrace and the staff is lovely but the food is very average, not what you would expect of a nice Italian restaurant. I especially don't recommend the pasta, clearly not fresh and quite overcooked, the sauce was very watery / not creamy at all (it is almost like a broth...). For 20 euros main dish, there are many better options in town. The risotto was quite nice on the other side. The starter grilled calamaris was small and nothing exceptional. Maybe this restaurant is still enjoying the good reputation of its past but can no longer live up to the standards? :/

C. R.One of the few places that have suppli as a starter. I had suppli for starter, chicken and mushroom risotto for main and a meringue, ice cream and butterscotch sauce concoction for desert. Everything was delicious, we'll presented and arrived promptly. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. We will be back again.

My gf pasta with garlic chili and basil was swimming in olive oil and bland ( could only taste parsley) but grand (I was hungry!) I'd go back but order differently.

B. f.The staff are lovely. Its a lovely place. The food was lovely but the portions are tiny. I was honestly shocked. My partner ordered the steak fillet and for €28 we thought it would be a good size unfortunately it was tiny and only came with less than a childs portion of chips no salad or mushrooms or onions like you would expect. I had canneloni and it took 2 minutes to eat. It was the size of a small starter and was €16.

Every part of the meal was perfection down to every detail including the baileys coffee! Will be returning again very soon, would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

S. C.I love the food here, it’s really good, the waiters are amazing! They could not be any friendlier or welcoming. The desserts are the best though. Great in winter or in summer they’ve a cute little terrace. They normally have beautiful views over the seafront too. It’s currently blacked by railings while the Dun Laoghaire baths are being renovated, but will be back to normal soon, so ask to be seated upstairs at the window.
S. A.Brought out one starter, delay with other 3. Hair on the bread of my starter but I was too hungry to bother telling them. Early bird menu isnt great value. Limoncello brought out as goodwill gesture for the delay but a person in our group was 8 months pregnant so obviously wasn't going to drink it. Food was very nice but small portions so not great value for money.

B.Absolutely gorgeous food had salmon tagliatelle followed by the most delish tiramisu and espresso. Good wine and beer selection. As a family group with a toddler there was something for all to enjoy and a comfy high chair for my grandchild. Staff very attentive informative and most of all friendly. Definitely highly recommend it's a delightful restaurant.

M. H.One of my favourite Dun Laoghaire restaurants. Lovely rooms, seaview from upstairs. At sunset this time. One salmon with lovely creamy sauce and chips. One trout fillet ditto chips. Had a carafe of white. Should have had a slightly more expensive bottle and left some behind. Carafe wine a bit too acidic. We made a table for three into a very comfortable table for two. Our Hungarian waiter was very attentive when necessary. But we were given the indulgence of time for a long chat after the food. The staff are always attentive and laid back Italian style. The food is consistently good with a big enough choice that you can visit several times without the menu becoming too familiar for interest.

I. D.The food is good but it's really expensive for the portion sizes. The cost of wine is rather unreasonable as well with the cheapest bottle being well over €30. Was also very annoyed that despite the menu stating no service charge one was added to the bill. The waitress was quite rude as well. I think she thought she was being funny but failed quite epically. I asked for another bottle of Prosecco and she said "no!", waited an uncomfortable period of time with a serious face then chuckled to herself and then said yes. Maybe stand up comedy would be more suitable than hospitality as a career.

S. K.If the review was based on the food alone, it would have been a five star experience. The location is also great. The inside is small and cramped but still nicely decorated and clean. The one issue with this place is the service. We made reservations and our table was ready but after we were seated we were treated like an annoyance. Water often went empty and stayed that way. We had to flag down a waiter every time we needed anything and they quickly rushed off with attitude the moment they could. Too bad. I wouldn't go back based on that even though the pasta was great.

The weather did however add an extra bit of spice as the town was buzzing and the termperature was Mediterranean, and as if it couldn't get better, there was a spectacular full moon.

Spaghetti Bolognaise is Irish-style, i.e, sauce is not cooked for long enough so the celery and carrots have not blended with marinara and there is just a touch of garlic added. Sauce is watery and separates. Room very 1990's. Service OK.

The pizza sauce and cheese weren't the best. Great food but it wasn't real Italian. Nice decor, good service, incredible view if sitting outside.

G. B.My beautiful girlfriend brought me here Friday night as a surprise, the minute i walked in i knew i was going to love it. The aroma and decor sold it for me before i even had looked at the menu, the place reminded me of restaurants i had been to in Italy. for starters i had the stuffed sweet peepers; they had been stuffed with veal and risotto and just tasted amazing. My girlfriend had very simple bruschetta but it tastes amazing as the tomatoes were fresh and was seasoned perfectly and proper extra virgin olive oil. for mains i had carbonara, proper chunks of pancheta and my god the sauce an extra bowl of just sauce and i would have been in heaven. My girlfriend had penne in tomato sauce with fillet beef, was heavy but again beautiful taste and i helped finish it off :) finally i had poached pear and she had berry crumble just lovely and perfect way to finish off great night. the service was excellent, very friendly and i loved the decor and backround music. basically ill be back again and again and again while im here in Dublin for the summer. oh and sorry came to €54 which for me was reasonable considering the quality of food and service .

You have to look close to notice the place. It's located not on the main street in Dun Laoghaire - if you're passing the main pier and continue your way besides the water, you'll notice it.
As Quentin mentioned in his review, this place is run by Italians so expect no Temple Bar-touristy-overpriced-bull@#$# food. We had a Caesar Salad (5.95 Euro), Crab Claws (11.95 Euro), Spaghetti Carbonara (13.95 Euro), a Cotolette d'Agnello (22.50 Euro), and Tiramisu (5.95 Euro). Both value and quality of the food was just superb.
The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable and give you a warm welcome once you enter the restaurant.
So if you're looking for one of the best Italian restaurants in the Dublin area I highly recommend checking out this one!
There is also a Dublin location which I haven't tested out yet.
