Great service - even on a busy Saturday evening! 🌟
The food was delicious, we got a selection of sushi, miso, and edamame🍱
everything came quickly and together, a little pricey but definitely worth it! 🤑

Perfect experience for a Friday evening. Nice cocktails, good food, party ambiance

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Dublin for me. The Pub like setting males it quite an evening as well. Good beer and Sake menu, great food offering. The sushi with black rice is definitely worth trying.
A.
Extremely disappointing.
Having been to the Yamamoei near the Liffey, I thought I knew what to expect. I loved the experience there so I didn't think I'd be disappointing.
The place in itself is nice although the music is VERY loud, but it's like most places in Dublin.
The food was the biggest disappointment. The rainbow sushi were plain, so plain, and did not look great for the price were paying (23.45 for 8 pieces). We were not given soy sauce even though we asked twice.
The gyoza were good. Octopus balls and other food not so much/at all.
The best point of the evening was the staff who was always smiling and patient and helpful with us. But the food... Just a big no, especially with such a high bill.
D. M.
Best Sushi in Dublin!
Izakaya is my go to place for Sushi and amazing cocktails! The food here is on another level. Everything is well thought out and well prepared!
I take many clients here for meetings as it is never too loud and the service is second to none. Sadly the photos i took were at not so not in the best light but again the food here is as good as it gets!!

Love it here! Can’t believe I’ve never been before. The staff are amazing and the food was incredible. We ordered mainly from the japas menu. Highlights were definitely the unbelievable octopus balls, but the pulled pork korokke and the ama age tofu were also fab. I love that each dish is served with a complementary sauce - such a small detail but it really elevates each dish. The rainbow roll was stunning too! I’ll definitely be going back.
A. C.
Food was nice and atmosphere was chilled. We tried to get a table at the main Yamamori Restaurant but they were packed so we went here instead. It was easy more relaxed and less people. Menu is more limited but still tastes good. Price is reasonable, mid range.
J. H.
Beautifully made, authentic Japanese food and drink, in a comfortable environment supported by the welcoming and friendly staff
Perfect for sharing food between friends or loved ones. Well priced although some items would be better suited to special nights out.

Great atmosphere, lovely food and great service
W. L.
Great place, fantastic atmosphere. The duck pancakes were moist and delicious. And the chicken yakitori was grilled perfectly and remained juicy. Don't miss out on the spicy Asian cocktail, it had just the right amount of kick. Definitely coming back next time I'm in town.
A. L.
Yamamoto Izakaya was a welcomed surprise in the heart of Dublin. Food was incredible and service even better. Don't waste your money on the espresso martini, too weak. Stick to Kirin beer or sake. Bathrooms downstairs.

Lovely atmosphere and food. Our food came to the table I'm a very strange order with some dishes taking a very long time but all round very good
S. M.
Such a quirky, vibrant spot in the heart of Dublin City. You won’t get a better welcome and the food, service and drinks are second to none. Took some colleagues from Angelas Ashes the Musical and we had a fantastic evening!
E. J.
Very fresh sushi and extremely tasty. Staff very pleasant. Losses one star for the fact my meal came out way before my husbands so we essentially ate separate.
C. V.
Great food, great drinks, and great staff. Had an excellent time here. The staff were amazing and really made the night fantastic.
F. S.
Amazing restaurant, in a typical Dublin wood-made pub. The food is impressively good and the menu offers several special dishes. I suggest the Izakaya bento box, a great mix of sushi!
M. M. B.
A visit to Yamamori makes you doubt a lot of 5-star ratings you have given before; you’d wish there was a 6th star to give. The place is a class of it’s own - in terms of food, kindness of staff and atmosphere. We had scallops, beef and the Yamamori understanding of a burger - followed by a both crunchy and creamy chocolate brownie with ice cream. It was sensational and certainly not our last visit!
M. K.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere and brilliant service . Very friendly. Will happily come again
J. E.
Holy massaged cow Batman this place was AMAZIIING! Had the Wagyu, followed by sashimi platter. Absolutely ASTONISHINGLY tasty! Definitely coming back. Genuinely thinking of bringing my wife from Manchester to visit Dublin, 90% just to come to Yamamori.
A. M.
Great sushi and wagyu steak which you cook yourself at the table. Good cocktails. 👌
G. A.
One of my favorite places in Dublin. I loved their jappas and their great service! Strongly recommend their izakaya burger, pork gyozas and spicy age tofu
Y. L.
Food and drink is all great, but they had trouble managing the queue - we had to flag someone down to make sure they knew we were there
H.
Amazing food, really fantastic cocktails and great service. The sweet potato fries here are so good! Fresh delicious sushi
N. F.
Had the 'rainbow' main course which was delicious and came out very quickly. Also had the tuna sashimi which was fresh and tasty. Shared the pork belly which was the only dish that could of been better(a little tough). Staff were friendly and attentive. Good range of drinks which are paired nicely with Japanese whiskey!
N. T.
The underground bar is one of my favourite places to go drinking. It’s a very cool secret vibe - decorated in a throwback to Japanese decor and they often play black and white japanese movies for extra ambience. The music they play is often chilled out pop music.
They have a pretty good selection of cocktails and are reasonably priced for being in the city centre.
This place gets reserved for groups for food in the evening times but if you’re going as a couple, chances are you can hang around the bar.
Great for couples and groups alike, not very loud but can get a bit busy.
A. C.
Food was a feast for the eyes and belly. Sushi selection for 2, a nigiri platter and kushikatsu left 3 people feeling absolutely stuffed. Cocktails were sublime. The dark wood interiors were cosy. Not cheap but if you’re splashing out on Japanese food in Dublin, do it here.
W. F. M.
Pretty good, but noisy due to the many customers. There is a club downstairs so that may disturbing later in the night.
Sushi was good. Not the best, but good
M. S.
Visited twice, great food, nice staff, and nice interior. I recommend the Ramen and Chicken Katsu Curry. The Shrimp Goyza didn't do it for me.
K. R.
Such a nice spot to come too. Great food and great drinks. It's not cheap but not too expensive. So if your looking for a handy spot and you dont mind spending extra. Check this place out.
N. B.
Great service! Delicious food and drinks!
B.
We had the opportunity to partake of a late meal here. Service was brisk and efficient. Ambience was eclectic. Japanese beers available with Japanese and fusion dishes being above average. Hope to visit again.
C. N.
Excellent place for dinner all the food was very fresh some nice Japanese beer and plum wine on the menu . You can sit and watch the chef's cook . Reasonably-priced and good service .
P. H.
Excellent club, horrible smoking area but a necessary part of the experience. Love it 💞
I. C.
Just delicious, loved the smoked salmon, I wish there was more of it!🤭
A. H.
One of the best Dublin sushi, but may disappoint if you're used to top-end London, Munich, Paris etc.
I. I.
Awesome atmosphere, friendly and professional staff, delicious food!! Definitely try the Rainbow special if you're into sushi. Prices are reasonable Highly recommended
P. L.
All our food was delicious and service was very efficient and friendly, will be back again
W. N.
Really good food but staff not really helpful to navigate the menu
송.
It was super nice! There was a lot of friendly and good people! I love it!
D. B.
Wonderful place. Ticked all the boxes. Cant wait to go back.
P. B.
Chill bar under Izakaya restaurant, love their cocktail options - all Japanese inspired - but they've also got a lot of ciders and beers - both Irish and Asian.
The vibe is casual but a bit weird, which I really like, but the music is a bit depressing, even though there's a live DJ.
M. K.
Love the place... My favourite Yamamori! Great vibe to it, staff's really good and food is always amazing! Beers on offer are always nice and cocktails are one of the best in Dublin. Highly recommended!
S. C.
Great sushi. Fun, ambient atmosphere. Definitely recommend for dinner and drinks any night of the week.
S. T.
Amazing food, great sake and a sugoiiiiiii~ atmosphere
D. s.
Delicious sushi, plesant place to sit in, but a bit overpriced...
S. C.
Food and Safe are brilliant. Great Sushi and Sake
S. B.
I come here often and it’s always a pleasure.
Great atmosphere and fantastic decor.
Good selection of different dishes on the menu.
Fresh tasty and very well presented food.
The best thing about Izakaya is Greg the manager who always royally look after me.
Feel very safe in post COVID.
Thanks so much
A. T.
These guy know how to create fans of their place. The food is absolutely delicious, the visuals, taste and texture are great!❤
Bonus: they have awesome choice of sake.❤
The kiuchi umeshu tastes like heaven!❤
F. S.
Japas, I love the concept. You will pay for a great experience and excellent service
H. J.
Sophie was great and the food was amazing I will really recommend this place
A. P. S. d. M.
Amazing experience! Superb.
I strongly recommend this restaurant.
T. F.
Japanese restaurant 🇯🇵 in the center of dublin. They have a big variety of sushi 🍣, noodles , rice and waguy 🍔 burgers .
C. R.
Love this place. The food is really good and the portion sizes are generous. I couldn't finish my meal, although I may have ordered too much. It's all so good though! It can get very busy and you could get squished in by the cold counter. The cocktails are interesting and different to most other places in Dublin. The price to size and flavour ratio is really good. They are pricey but amazing! Worth it!
A. D.
Having been here a number of times, I'm always impressed. The staff are professional and friendly, but of course, it's the food that brings us back. The sushi is freshly prepared in front of you. I am a big fan of the pork gyozas and all of the sushi that I've tried has been amazing.. and very healthy portions too! :)
W. P.
Good food good service lovely place to enjoy your meal
A. K.
Amazing Japanese food in a contemporary setting- only fault is our table was a little small for everything we ordered. But I think we were just greedy!
M. K.
Went to this spot last night with a big group of 10 for a stag party. The food was delicious and the staff were the greatest! So friendly and fun, really made our night. They were accommodating and helpful, the food was so tasty and really reasonably priced, plus the bar downstairs turned into a busy dance bar later at night which was the best way to end our night.
Thank you for putting up with us being loud, and for showing us a great first night in Dublin!
R. D.
What a lovely dinner, served fast, hot and delicious. The vibe was perfect inside but the lighting not so good for photos.
G. S.
Good japanese food in an irish pub atmosphere. My favourite place in dublin! Nice staff
T. A.
Nice music, great staff and good drinks
R. D. B.
It is a very nice place to have some quality food. The price is not too high given the area. Also it is better to have a reservation.
A. C.
Really nice cocktail menu, very original. Their sake selection is wide and they will actually help you pick out something you'll enjoy with a nice chart describing the different sake styles. The staff is friendly and helpful. The decor and ambiance is tasteful, and the music is good at a decent conversational volume until late, when it goes louder and more club like. The food is amazing.
N. E.
J'adore!!! I have enjoyed all of the locations, their delicious food and cocktails, but hands down their George's Street bar is the best. The ambient, relaxed yet enchanting atmosphere, it's like being transported somewhere other than Dublin's city centre, while remaining in the heart of it. Perfect for dates, after-work gatherings or catching up with friends, the space is inviting and enticing, attracting a lovely crowd. Reasonably priced, so long as you can bring yourself to leave at a sensible time without moving on to Yamamori's dance spaces (trust me, it's difficult and you'll be tempted to splash out). Can't wait to return, hopefully sooner rather than later 😎 for sushi, cocktails and a bop.
A. O.
Absolutely incredible! Loved everything on offer here
M. O.
Their Japas are awesome. Music is great and when you are finished you can most downstairs for a dance.
S. T.
Amazing great splendid, food customer service place !!!
C. K.
It's the perfect place for someone as indecisive about food as myself. The menu is so vast and the food is so good that any order would leave me thinking 'did I make the right choice?'
Cut to the Bento Box - available as meat/fish and vegetarian option. It's four mini dishes (the combination changes weekly) plus a bowl of rice and miso soup. Reasonably priced and perfectly accompanied by warm Sake 💞
F. C.
Great vibe, great food and great service!
Went for an anniversary dinner and the japas menu is fantastic for sharing dishes!
The Bluefin Tuna is a must try if it's available on the night.
There was a slight issue with one of our dishes not arriving but we had more than enough food and the staff handled the situation perfectly.
Can't wait to go again!

Food: 10/10 - Love the selection of tapas and sushi here. Without a doubt my favourite sushi spot and the spot I take people to in Dublin to introduce them to Japanese food. Every time I come I have a different selection of food.
Drink: 10/10 - Good cocktail selection for those inclined, I myself am partial to the Asahi served. The bar atmosphere is great fun
Tunes: 10/10 - Great DJs in the basement all the time. Love to dance off the calories I consumed upstairs on the dancefloor downstairs.
Design: 10/10 - Interior design is exquisite. Amazing decor including authentic Japanese fans, photography and lighting. The shopfront facade to George's St is my favourite in the city; an excellent modern interpretation of traditional shopfront design incorporating Japanese and Irish elements.
Can't recommend Yamamori Izakaya enough!
L. H. (.
Having lived in Japan for 17 years I was pleasantly surprised by how authentic and delicious the food is. If you want a genuine taste of Japan (food wise) this is definitely the place to go. The decor and ambiance is very much Irish though! Perfect mix. Friendly, patient and helpful staff. There was at least one Japanese speaker there the night I was so 日本語も大丈夫です。
N. S.
I was visiting Dublin with friends and we came here for a good meal. We were not disappointed! The food was delicious and the prices very reasonable. A mistake had happened in the kitchen so my friend's main course came a little later than ours, but the waitress brought him some soup, free of charge! Amazing customer service!
G. W.
Fantastic atmosphere and good food. If you're looking for a restaurant that is stop number one on a long night out, I'd suggest Izakaya. Great music and really high energy. It is particularly good in a large group but I'd suggest booking in advance.
C. D.
Is a very cool place and the food was delicious, although we booked a table and they had no booking for us when we arrived. They did accommodate us in the end. Their cocktails are not to be desired and as a mixologist myself they need to be trained up to a better standard.
C. O.
Great food, Not crazy expensive. Upmarket casual.
K. J.
I loved the food here, the duck pancakes were amazing and I would definitely recommend them. There is a great choice of beer and wines to wash you food down and the staff were very welcoming and lovely. The sushi here was good.
We ate downstairs, and while the interior was very dark, it was a lovely place.
C. F.
My absolute favorite. Always fantastic. Can't recommend the Spicy Asian cocktail enough!
A. B.
Really amazing food - loads of options and the drinks are really good too. There are vegetarian and vegan choices and gluten free beer! I've eaten both upstairs and downstairs and both areas are really good. The staff are brilliant - helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend it.
D. J.
Delicious, powerful, if pricey, cocktails, worth the price. Interesting backdrop of old oriental movies. The beats pick up after midnight and it can get a little packed around then, but otherwise a cosy spot earlier in the evening. Great food in the restaurant upstairs.
M. T.
It's an old Irish pub decked out with Japanese decor. Really unique place, I'm glad we found it.
P. L.
Great food. Great ambience. 5/5
I. A.
We shared 6 different japas with my fiancé and 2 desserts. Everything was so delicious! Cocktails too! I'm writing this at the table so I don't forget to tell you all to go here for an amazing experience.
K. C.
I am new to sushi but boy was it delicious
O. I.
Went for food on table of two ordered Japas for table. Fantastic options and portions. Particularly loved the fried aubergine. Would definetly go again. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Opened at 530. And started to fill up very quickly.
K. T.
Very tasty Japanese/Asian food. Small portions so be sure to order plenty. The cocktails are a bit pricey so you may want to go for the beers only. Food is also not cheap, but worth the price. Great atmosphere and good for both couples and groups.
J. O. B.
The food is great. The staff are great. The music is great. The people are great. I cannot fault this place. It's a small basement bar in the centre of the city that doesn't try too hard but nevertheless is possibly the best bar in Dublin right now. It is the perfect compromise. When everyone stop eating people people start boozing chatting and dancing and It's a short walk from a plethora of other city centre venues.
S. W.
Great food for a decent price and a brilliant selection of cocktails.
M. G.
Great food and drinks, but very expensive.
L. L.
I love this place for drinks. For food I found it really overpriced. One or two good dishes like the octopus balls. One of our mains was very slow to arrive. It arrived after everyone else had finished eating their mains.
M. S.
Quick service on a Saturday night. Food is tasty. I will go back.
A. N.
Amazing food, amazing service and great vibe.
L. R.
Loved the chilled atmosphere and, of course, their food. Dragon roll is unbelievable and Sashimi super fresh and tasty. It is enjoyable to sit at the bar as well, while I find the big dining area a bit too loud sometimes.
P. F.
This place is always amazing. The foods really flavoursome, the staff always incredibly friendly and happy to help and a great selection of drinks and cocktails. I've wiled away many happy hours here!
A.
Oh my goodness we had three things and evey single one blew my mind, and I'm a chef and fairly picky. The octopus balls were my favourite, and then the duck (which was amazingly tender) and we also had the crab bao buns. All were delicious, and the service was very friendly, even for out-of-towners, which is really nice.
E. J.
One of my favourite Dublin spots. Open late most nights with a cool crowd and someone on the decks most nights. Loads of good drink options. Tiny beer garden but fun place to dance the night away
S. O.
The food was fabulous. We got a mix of japa's between us to share, yakitori, chicken wings, crab bao, mini dim sum, pork & ebi gyoza, seafood tempura. It was all really tasty. Came out fast and the service was great, very tentive with drinks ,clearing plates etc.when we where finished we decided to try their bar down stars. Again the interior was lovely. But Then I used the toilets, and they were awful. The floor was soaked to the point of puddles. All 3 toilets had puddles and tissue on the floor, I told one of the guys collecting glasses. He just acknowledged me but nothing was done about it the rest of the time I was there.
E. B.
The pub restaurant is great! Good food, excellent cocktails. The ambient have very beautiful japanese stuffs, I felt a little bit of Japan at a irish pub! In the bar downstairs you can dance with great music and lively atmosphere!
c. “. n.
One of the nicest night clubs in Dublin great food served during the day as well
N. M.
Great atmosphere.... cool staff ... amazing whiskey sour
R. B.
Gets the key ingredients of Good food and friendly service right. For me the building interior lacks authenticity though, yes they have some token decorations to provide an oriental theme. But the layout and main decor screams Irish Pub. Still trying to get my head around the Club hidden in the basement.... ;-)
M. M. M.
Was going to a gig in the nearby Olympia Theatre, so popped in here for some pre-gig food. I didn't have a reservation, so wasn't sure if they would take me, but they did. I have eaten in each of the other Yamamori in central Dublin, but was aware that this was more of a Japanese Bar/Eatery, rather than a restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by the very relaxed atmosphere. The layout is great, and the bar downstairs will get a proper visit next time I return. The staff were extremely helpful, and had no issue with the fact that I decided on an unorthodox approach to ordering my food. The menu is quite extensive, considering this is portrayed as something other than a restaurant. The food itself was simply excellent. I actually find it difficult to find any fault with my visit. It is literally 200yds from the door of the Olympia Theatre, so serves as an excellent location for pre-gig nourishment to anyone who has a taste for Japanese food.
J. R.
Amazing place, best sushi in Ireland
A. K.
Great atmosphere, great cocktails, amazing food and black and white Japanese movie streams - what more can you want!
T. G. M.
The most beautifully presented, tastiest, yummiest, scrummy sushi ever to pass my lips. The Dragon and Rainbow rolls are an epic feast. You'd be forgiven for being absent of all manners. The Lotus gin cocktail is as delicate and pretty as it is punchy. I'll be back and back and back and back a million times
R. H.
Was expecting better food to be honest. The two dishes I had were just about OK. A bit bland and nothing inspiring about them really.
We ordered a dish later in the evening also and the order was forgotten/overlooked.
Nice venue but needs to be supported by great food.
R. B.
Undoubtedly one of the best places in Dublin for sushi and japas; i particularly like the fact that they let you choose what type of rice you want. Also the cocktails here are one of the best in Dublin (go for the Lonely Chaplin, you won't be disappointed)
l. a.
amazing chill music; friendly staff; gluten-free japanese beer
G. K.
Beautiful place great people tasty food
G. O.
Remember to book ahead.
Delicious sushi rolls - kinda hidden in the menu - are a great choice in this modern japanese restaurant. Cocktails are a little too small, don't fall for it - order japanese beer for popular pint prices.
D. E.
One of four Yamamori restaurants in Dublin. The décor is more steakhouse than the minimalist Japanese I was expecting. Music was a little loud. Service was mostly good (waitress didn't tell me that they served five types of green tea when I asked her for green tea). Meal was well presented and delicious. WIGA? Yes I would go again and on the evidence of this place, I would try the other three restaurants in the group too.
A. W.
This place is dangerous if you like sushi. Quality very high, matches the prices. Sushi plates impressive and well presented. Literally everything we ate was excellent
Z. B.
Hidden underground drinking den. Always busy with a fun vibes and great music. If you're stuck for somewhere busy on Mondays & Tuesday's there will always be a crowns tucked away in here. Great selection of cocktails to choose from too.
A. W.
Good fast service. Waitress & waiters were great. Saturday is busy, booking recommended. For a veggie option, try the Pumpkin Croquettes, amazing.
V. O.
Great place. Very tasty food. Be careful with credit card. They charged me Mastercard scam exchange rate and did not ask me :( And I even have EUR card but from Czechia so they charged me in CZK even when the display stated EUR price. 3.5% went down the drain...
R. A.
Nice place. Sushi is not the best in Dublin but still very good. Try black rice instead of white rice if you go for sushi. Best Banoffie Pie in Dublin!
D. F.
I went to Izakaya for a late pint with friends. I was impressed by the huge selection of whiskeys, the great atmosphere with b/w Japanese films in the background, nice wooden benches, and fantastic looking and smelling food. I'll definitely be back for that burger or five-dishes-for-€25 offer.
A. B.
The food was good and fresh (we had shrimp gyoza, octopus balls and a set of sushi), the prices were high though. The have plum wine (Choya, I guess), which is good. What I didn't like was that it was too dark and didn't seem too cozy. Also, not sure if the place can actually be called an izakaya in the Japanese understanding of the word (rather just a restaurant).
D. T.
Great food, and great atmosphere. Was seated downstairs. The staff were really friendly and were very prompt with their service. The place turned into a bar then nightclub... Fantastic
T. L.
Dublin’s culinary scene is probably not well known for good Japanese and sushi, but Yammamori is slowly working to change that perception. Once you enter the basement, you are transported from Dublin to Tokyo with big wooden tables, Japanese art, and a bar stocked with Asahi and Sapporo. The beer menu isn’t extensive beyond this, and it would be nice to have a Japanese craft beer option or two. The space is not very huge, so expect a wait or book ahead. The menu is huge, about 4 pages of sushi and Japanese style tapas dishes, yakitori. It’s a great way to get introduced to Japanese cuisine as dishes are small, and you can try many. The sampler is also a great way to try a bunch of options such as sushi and chicken skewers. One of the more interesting options on the menu are the octopus balls, tangy tender meat in a tasty sauce that make a great appetizer. The big tables are also great for groups. The prices are a little high for the size of food, but the quality is excellent.
S. T.
The restaurant was lovely and beautifully decorated. The waiter serving me was a young lad, very friendly and helpful. I would have tipped but alas, I'm a poor student eating at a slightly fancy place to reward myself.
The food is slightly pricey but not totally crazy. I spent ~€25. The pork belly was very nice, crispy on the outside and the fat practically melts in your mouth, the tako nigiri (octopus sushi) was decent (pretty hard to get that wrong!) and the sashimi platter was acceptable. My only complaint is that the tuna and salmon sashimi were sliced too thickly. Otherwise, this is one of the better Japanese restaurants in Ireland!
C. K.
Izakaya is a Dublin favourite: always reliable, delicious food and great staff. Plus the prices are really very reasonable. Good Asian beers as well. I recommend the banana toffee pie for dessert!
S.
Why 3 start while food was good? They did not gave me fork or anything that u could use to consume my food 😂 I had to stand off my table and took it myself from waiters till - nobody was there. I understand it was busy, but basic service do not require much from them.
S. L.
The bar downstairs is really lovely venue with a real festival feel to it. The crowd are all up for getting up and dancing and socialising. Open minded and friendly crowd that are a pleasure to be around. I can easily understand why Izakaya is so popular. Pity about the rather claustrophobic smoking area. Although at least they have one and you are not out on the street.
J. C.
Superb place for Japanese Food just near Temple Bar, one of the best places I have been. The Jappas (like japanese tapas) are a must to get the taste of the oriental food, and of course the sushi is one of the best in town.
If you are near Dame Street, just jump in and prepare yourself for a really nice experience.
N. K.
A great atmosphere for dinner. You can see the cooks cook in front of you if you are dining alone. The food are delicate and fresh, it cost around 20 euros per person.
V. P.
Lovely atmosphere and good drinks, but the sushi itself doesn’t bring anything exceptional or distinct.
The black sushi rice is interesting, but the fish wasn’t as exciting as it could be.
Q. H.
The food is good, the eel sushi is amazing, seals the flavor, and more importantly, not losing much fat, the shrimp tempura is good as well. Just the place is a bit overpriced.
R. R.
Delicious sushi and other Japanese dishes. Located in the center of Dublin, the place can be crowded at time. Waiting time for getting the food can be longer than usual, but it's worth.
E.
Great any time, but particularly great if you're looking for a late night dinner/snack. The Japas (Japanese Tapas) and sushi plates are ideal for sharing in a group while you enjoy a cocktail, sake or even tea. The Japas menu carries a lot of popular Japanese street food and Izakaya (type of bar) foods for example yakatori (chicken skewers), takoyaki (balls of batter and octopus) and gyoza (Japanese dumplings) etc.
S. H.
Very authentic Japanese food (speaking from an Asian who is into Japanese culture & have been having countless Japanese food).
R. G.
There was only one thing better than the food. The service. Thankyou Emma for the wonderful service. You made us feel like Kings and Queens!
N. M.
Delicious food and amazing cocktails. Seating is intimate and a bit close to other diners, but staff are lovely, it's a perfect spot for a date and/or drinks!
T. W.
The 'more than a mouthful' sushi rolls were okay, but not the greatest, but the fairly extensive list of Japanese tapas is where's it at. Decent beer selection too.
L. G.
Great cocktail selection and friendly staff. Definitely have to try the Bunbuku coconut drink, if you're into sweet and creamy drinks.
J. O.
I love it cause they play old black and white westerns in the bar with Japanese subtitles and no sound. I mean it's like something you didn't know you liked until you discovered it. I haven't a clue what's going on in those flicks. Good Asahi though.
G. A.
Great service and amazing food
C. R.
Great value, I had excellent sashimi (Habuchi), soft shell crab and gyozo. All very authentic and moreish. Highly recommend
D. L.
Lovely food, drinks and staff. The overall mood of the night was kind of tarnished once a dj came on, I don't feel that it suited the vibe and aesthetic of the place at all
E. V.
One of my favourite places in Dublin.
Very vibrant atmosphere, crispy fresh sushi, and the japas are to die for.
Try the 5-japas combo and overeat yourself with delicious tempura prawns, ebi gyoza (prawn dumplings), spicy age tofu, asparagus with anchovies and many, many more.
If there's a wait, go down to the bar to have a cocktail.

Love Japanese tapas aka JAPPAS!!!! Choice to have Ur sushi with brown rice as well!!!! Full bar and good cocktail selection! Place worth a visit.
j. p.
Not sure if this a bar / club or a restaurant. The food is decent, without being spectacular but the drinks selection is really good. Its one of those places where you don't really know whats going to happen next. Quirky barmen who dont skimp on the measures. I recommend the strawberry mojito.
J.
As good as it gets for Japanese food in Dublin. If you are used to proper Japanese restaurants you might find it unimpressive (they don't even serve Bancha or Hojicha and Sake options are laughable), however, it still the best I've found in Dublin. Make sure to order the Takoyaki (they call it Octopus Balls in the menu).
N. S.
In my opinion, Best sushi place in Dublin. Amazing staff, amazing food, great atmosphere. Perfect every time
G. v.
Great place to meet friends after work. Nicely prepared food, tasty. Good and efficient service. Sake bar has great choice of drinks
C. O.
been twice and loved it twice. excellent cosy basement bar that serves up a myriad of mini-plated japanese numbers and beers. good tunes and hyper laid back. gyozas and asahi beer - whats better? tis of the yamamoori stable so they know their stuff, place is pretty easy on the eye too.
I. M.
Very nice atmosphere. The staff were very friendly. Tasty food in the restaurant and great beer in the bar downstairs. I recommend trying some hitachino nest beer.
M. M.
Top japanese food and sake, also top djs every night in the basement. Free in from 11pm to 3am 7 nights a week, usually a good mix of disco, house and techno
A. F.
Friendly service. Food is fresh and we'll presented. The sharing options make it a bit more affordable even if the price in general is ok. A place to return.
A. P.
Good food in restaurant and amazing vibes downstairs. Love DJs selection.
Hate the way they serve wine in whiskey glass. Its not trendy, just poor taste!
L. P.
Great place for a casual dinner and also for larger groups (plenty of space and some big tables). Worth trying as many of the "japas" on the menu. The gyozas, beef yaki niki and okinawa pork belly are a must!
D. W.
Great chilled out vibe especially love Sundays here and the staff are always so friendly, foods good too although miss the old menu but its still great 😉
J. W.
Pricey but fantastic quality and delicious japas. Satay sauce a bit bland, but the duck pancakes are sublime. Excellent sushi as well.
A. O.
Was craving Japanese and found this place on google maps. Boy was I glad I did. Ordered tons of food all for myself - nigiri, sashimi, beef skewers, chicken skewers, beer, sake... everything was fantastic and I was stuffed!
A. M.
Great service and great food! It's loud because it's packed but you don't mind the background loudness and waiting for your food because it's very good.
H. T.
Great Japanese tapas, if you're looking for a change from sushis. Also good choice of usual sushis, norimaki, etc. Recommend the octopus balls!
S.
Great food,service and gin cocktails!
R. K.
Food is lovely here. Service is normally quite good though sometimes served by a scaldy waitress with poor manners. Nice beers and sake.
S. M.
Brilliant Japas selection and very tasty sushi. Cocktails are also definitely worth a try. Staff is nice and service is fairly fast.
J. R.
Lovely staff, food was tasty, fresh, gyozas were delicious. Very big restaurant so also good for large tables.
L. F.
Great food & service. Sushi was really good. Cocktails were amazing! Definitely worth a visit.
A. O.
Really good variety and service. Also very accommodating to vegans, would definitely recommend for casual or celebratory dining
T. S.
I think we can all agree to say that yamamori is the best japanese restaurant in Dublin.
C. O.
Not cheap, and often crowded, but a great experience is pretty much guaranteed. The REAL treat though is the basement whiskey bar. Which is a wonderful place with unique whiskey and beer.
V.
Its a nice Japanese restaurant right in the city of Dublin. I love the sushi and ramen! Friendly staff. Not too bad for having a group dinner. :)
C. G.
My favourite sushi place in Dublin! And they are very nice when you have food allergies, they know how to handle it
B. H.
So I think I've practically moved into Izakaya. From what I understand the name means afterwork drinking place that also serves grub. The food isn't world changing (more on the burger below) but at five dishes for €25, food service *after* 12 and a selection of decent beers, ace cockails and tons of sake, there are reasons that this has become my go-to joint. Izakaya is an underground, hip, watering hole that has that 'we're not in Dublin' feel that we all like so much. Props go out to Ainoa, who is probably the coolest bartender ever to have graced town. Also, arguably the best burger in Dublin – which is saying a lot as it only costs five quid.
C. H.
Nice food, lovely staff but over priced... There are other equally delicious sushi restaurants in the city centre.... I would suggest to check one of those out first.
E.
The food here is delicious, fast service and nice beers too! Highly recommend.
c. f.
The food is great, it was busy and the dishes didn't come exactly as ordered but that's a small complaint. The bar downstairs often has great DJ's and a lively atmosphere
E. C.
Fab food and lovely cocktails. Dumplings are great and fried aubergine is delicious. Highly recommend
M. F.
Food and cocktails were good. However expensive and slow coming out. Staff were not particularly attentive. Wont be rushing back
D. F.
I visited Izakaya for the first time recently and it's easily my favourite late night bar/food stop in the city. The Japanese tapas approach to the food and the fantastically decorated bar setup works incredibly well
j. c.
Great DJs and cocktails for late night; and a nice quiet bar to have the chats earlier in the evening. good beer and whiskey and the barmen know their stuff.
T. W. E.
Great atmosphere and good beer. The smoking are is like something out of Akira. Also have a beer vending machine which is neat
N.
Great food - tasty and good price, but service was a bit slow on a wednesday evening, and one of the dishes ordered by our group was forgotten so the person needed to remind of it
R. F.
Fantasic small late night bar. Interesting drinks on the menu and great japanese 'tapas'. Limited seating but rarely crazy busy. Small smoking area also.
A. M.
Excellent duck pancakes to share, cocktails are really good, service is slick and quick with friendly staff. Cucumber or Avocado rolls are my 2 go-tos.
K. B.
Chef specials are quite expensive. Plus the amazing cheesecake they used to have is changed to a green tea cheesecake (blahh) without any notification on the menu :(
F. B.
Downstairs cocktail bar is a fantastic venue. Great music and great cocktails. Be careful though, their spicy cocktails are 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
v. a.
one of my favourite place in dublin to eat a good sushi! atmosphere is nice and service very good. the dessert is absolutely a must!
T. (. F. P.
Wagu sliders with truffles and high quality sake. Great Euro music and upbeat atmosphere. Is there anything missing?
C. G.
Excellent Japanese tapas and sushi, atmosphere and style very enjoyable. One of my favorites!
B. S. B.
Very original. I like the food, very tasty and different. Prices a bit high but still affordable. Staff very nice and professional
K. M.
Spicy Asian cocktail is delish here! Nice underground pub, great atmosphere and range of drinks
L. O. M.
A bit more fusion than I like but as it's invariably rammed most times I visit it's clearly catering for it's target audience. Good selection of food and friendly staff combine well with the excellent location.
N. G.
Great food and service. Nice sake bar down stairs. A little hidden gem
J. A. Y.
Good place for a crowd, but the sushi is too overwhelming to my taste. It's quite a large plate, so they tend to get your money worth.
V. H.
I love Izakaya their Japas are the best. Izakaya is a bit of an enigma to me on a Saturday night you have people dancing, eating dinner and having general merriment all in a small space but for some reason it really works!
Tip:
5 Japas for €35 and the Orange/Basil smoothie is a winner!
e. d.
Such tasty food. Really quick service. Everyone we met was so nice and helpful.
L. S.
Good laugh after 12am. Great DJ and the crowd are fantastic. Must try the restaurant upstairs soon.
A.
The food is great, the service is good, BUT: The place is NOISY when full, and the staff does NOTHING to try and minimise the amount of racket coming from some of the patrons. Shame, would have been an excellent experience otherwise.
K. G.
Really cool little place for a drink, dimly lit, nice atmosphere. You head downstairs to a little bar with dragons on the ceiling and a large selection of drinks.
K. Y.
Great "tapas" Japanese style. Food is fresh and tasty and not too expensive. Great cocktails bit way too pricey!
R. H.
Amazing food they always remember you . Very kind. I love the place and the staff
P. F.
It's a very nice place, I would recomend it to celebrate a birthday, for adults not for kids, and at night it's also a place where you can have cocktails.
G. O. S.
Absolutely fantastic grub and the Japanese beer on tap is delicious
Great service and great staff with a very warm atmosphere
S. T.
Lovely food, cool venue, downstairs gets a bit too sweaty at times. Great to go in as a group and shares platters and "Japas".
H. C.
Great food and cocktails. Cool bar downstairs and more restauranty upstairs. Gets very crowded but if you like Asian food you should pop in.
j. M.
Seem to lose track of time every occasion i visit. great selection of whiskeys from around the world. You can get food up until midnight which is a bonus
G. S. D.
Sakura is the most friendly and inviting person I have ever interacted with in any restaurant. She is the number one reason why I come to eat the overpriced food at IZAKAYA
D. V.
The restaurant has a good selection of various dishes. It has a great selection of various cocktails - highly recommend to try Izakaya Lychee.
N. L.
Excellent place has got good atmosphere and bountiful drinks. atmosphere is slightly tacky but then for Dublin and this kind of establishment ot delivers what it promises...
M. S.
Amazing food, great helpful staff and the music downstairs at night is top shelf quality!
a.
We had amazing sushi and platters there. The place itself is maybe not as nice as the big Yamamori restaurant on the quays.
M. H.
Great place. The food never disappoints. Best Sushi in Dublin, sets the bar.
J. D.
Love the Dragon Roll sushi and California roll. The bar downstairs is also cool, Japanese style. personnel not very friendly there though.
D. C.
Really tasty cocktails and sushi, friendly staff and fairly priced for Dublin. Will definetly be returning.
D. G.
Amazing sushi and service.
m. f.
Izakaya is the best ever. Yamamori and Sushi plus Noodles now another one at Sushi as well. Food like none other and staff second to none as well.
M. B. e. S.
Great atmosphere and great food. The rolls with black rice are amazing. Staff is very friendly too.
M. s.
Really cozy , good lookinh place, very good food. Nice bar to have drink after a long day.
D. G.
Nice selection of sake and cool bar bites, casual and not too loud, service is good
T. C.
Beautiful ambient, wonderful staff, great food. Highly recommend
L. C.
For Izakaya Sake, get yourself some grub from here, would highly recommend to anybody!
I love Japanese,
Yamamori is the best
This is a haiku.
t. m.
Food was unbelievable ! Nigiri full tasting platter was so amazing and the staff were great.
G. B.
Good food and friendly service, but space and privacy are limited. The lamps have no schade and are flickering.
R. K.
Beautiful place, great service and the food was amazing. Already looking forward to going back.
P. G.
Super good food very high quality ! The atmosphere is great. The prices are a little high for the quantity
T. O.
Very good food, prompt and friendly service. Excellent cocktails. And to top it off, very reasonable prices!
N. A.
Cheap, tasty 'japas'. Great music too btw. Used to have kinda weird seating but all good last time I was there
M. H.
lovely asian restaurant with a very cool bar downstairs. small dancefloor and usually a nice chilled crowd. expensive cocktails downstairs are only let dwown
K. C.
Excellent restaurant and very cool underground cocktail bar, delicious food, cool drinks and decor, and shows old silent Japanese movies on the big screen!
G. P. A.
Very authentic bar! Loved the Japanese cocktails and sake. Top!
S. C.
Great for a sit down meal with friends or a quick bite at the bar. Excellent food, fun atmosphere
B. C.
Their "Japas" is amazing value and such a great location beneath street level. It's brilliant to sit at the bar and just watch the feet walk by.
K. K.
Really nice food. Head downstairs to the bar after your meal for some funky cocktails
A. F.
Noisy and no fuss but consistent and tasty. Bit of an institution for my friends and I. Gets pretty busy on weekends though.
D. S. (.
Food was amazing. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Overall experience was fantastic
C. W.
Lovely food. Sake is nice. Good for drinks downstairs as well
n. m.
Great staff and great beer
J. F.
Incredible sushi and Japanese tapas. Great atmosphere. The staff were a bit unenthusiastic but it was a quiet night
P. M.
been going there for ages, food has always been great and keep on delivering quality cocktails for the thirsty kind!
P. G.
Smaller portions than the other Yamamori's but I believe it's basically the same price. Japa's style dining. Like Tapas, but Japanese
W. D.
My advice: go for the Japas. For 2 people, get 4 or 5 items with rice and a beer. So good and great value!
J. C.
Japanese style bar with lots of cool features to keep you looking around, its a basement bar so you can watch the people busily walking buy up on the street above while you enjoy your sake and beer
E. K.
Best sushi I’ve ever had in my life, gorgeous decor, and great service
J. C.
Delicious food and generous portions. Super fast and friendly service. Loved it.
E. H.
The basement club really surprised me, but with great music, decent drinks and a proper smoking area, I was very happy and had a great night.
L. G.
Friendly staff good food and great cocktails. Rare to find all 3 in the one spot
J. B.
Good quality food, great choice, friendly staff
A. S.
Exceptionally tasty food and service was good too. Great place to have dinner and then stay on for some drinks.
J. C.
Brilliant bar to chill and relax, friendly attentive staff. Delicious sake and beer
R. F.
Lovely restaurant in the centre yet you notice it is a Chinese restaurant and not Japanese as there are not Japanese waiters and chefs working in the restaurant.
A. A.
Really good food and great service. A good place for large groups also.
M. F.
Best sushi in Dublin. Great vegan and vegetarian options, amazing cocktails
S. M.
Set in the city centre, it is a nice place, the sushi is amazing... the staff is friendly just a little bit expensive but the food is really good
M. M.
Lost it's touch a bit. Was my favorite Yamamori in town, but has lost some of it's quality and gained on the price. Very disappointing development
C. M.
Very good sushi place, go early to enjoy the early bird menu.
S. S.
Simple but nice place with good enough food.If gets too crowded can be very noisy and a little too squashed for my liking.
J. J. H.
No bad, fresh food, prompt service, a bit pricy qty vs value. But we will be back. Definitely recommended.
B. V. Z.
Amazing food. Fresh ingredients and out of this world flavour. Definitely worth a visit
