I enjoyed being there, the atmosphere was great and the staff were friendly. We got the ribs which came with chips, buffalo wings (I think I had to order chips separately), and soup with bread. The food was nice :) We were too full for dessert, but I may come back to try them out because they also sounded delicious!

I walked through the front door to a nice greeting with a clean and vibrant environment. Our orders were taken quickly and the food was served equally fast. The food was beautiful and the pricing was very reasonable. All staff were friendly and professional. The decor mixed with the atmosphere created by the staff allowed for an ambiance which could only be described as ideal for lunch. I would definitely recommend this cafe for anyone visiting, passing through, or residing in Dundalk.

Delicious takeaway tonight with Hake and Paella, goats cheese salad, buffalo wings and truffle cheese chips. Straight from the kitchen to our plates at home. Will definitely visit again!

Nice lunch yesterday with a friend . First Time to visit , will be back . Had Goat cheese and beetroot salad 🥗 . The portion was huge ! I would have preferred a smaller portion with more cheese and nuts in it . Having said that it was tasty and my leftovers were kindly put in a doggie box for my tea later . Friend had a chicken burger which she loved . Lunch menu was interesting , but little choice of mains for vegetarians/vegans ?

Food was beautiful, perfectly cooked and presented. Staff were mostly friendly and efficient with one exception, (perhaps she was just having a bad day)? Priced reasonably. Place was clean and well kept. Will definitely return and may upgrade from 4 to 5 stars. Didn't have time to stop for dessert and coffee but will update when I do.

We had a fantastic time last night with friends at the spotted dog. The ambience, menu and attention to detail were excellent. With specific dietary requirements the staff were particularly helpful offering lots of delicious options. The food was the best we've had in a while. My family enjoyed had an awesome meal here today. A reasonable price for a 2 course meal. Mussels special was AMAZING! Rissoto delicious. Healthy options for kids meals and crayons too. Super friendly and attentive service. Would happily eat here again!

Called in lunchtime around 1.30pm. Chicken caesar salad and Salmon on wheaten bread, nicely presented and very generous portion sizes. Salmon was delicious, very fresh and plentiful for price point. Salad was fresh, crisp and had perfect amount of dressing. Would definitely go again.

Possibly the best meal we've had in Ireland. Make no mistake, this is not pub food, this is fine dining at a reasonable price. The food, service, ambiance, everything. Only the second time I've ever given 5 stars. The personal service and quiet setting just set off the excellent dining experience.

Excellent little café/restaurant. Its a family run business and you can really tell, as everything is well put together. Food is amazing, service is fantastic. They currently have a brilliant outdoor seating area that very cosy too! Will definitely return!

We had the Feta and onion Tartlets to start which was very average. The Crispy Confit Duck leg was very dry and tasted like nothing. I had the Chicken which was nice I suppose I was disappointed when the waitress asked if we enjoyed our meal having seen the uneaten duck. We were not even offered a free coffee. Nice spot,order was packaged nicely and ready on time . Down to the food ...we ordered the crab claws 9/10 good portion size and very tasty. The chicken wings 6/10 thought they were over cooked and personally I think wings should be marinated in the sauce to hold the flavour rather than pouring the sauce or dipping the wings but that comes down to personal preference. Loaded bbq fries 9/10 these were very tasty big portion size and there was a lot of flavour locked in one meal. I would recommend these to anyone going here. White chocolate and baileys cheesecake 5/10 this was a let down as I’m a big cheesecake fan and Baileys /white choc is one of my favourites the biscuit is very thin as is the whole cheesecake in a small tub, loads of white chocolate which was nice but very little to none of a baileys taste from the dessert. Overall I’d rate The Spotted Dog 7/10 .

Great food with emphasis on local produce. Very friendly staff. Have been there a couple of times now for breakfast and lunch and you can only expect the best food to be served in a nice and relaxed ambience. Reasonable prices too, so a good meal won’t leave too much of a void in your walllet.

Lovely meal; Great value; Excellent and friendly staff; good service, but didn't have the wow factor one might expect on St Valentine's Day night. Nice starters, very tende pork for the main course. Sticky toffee pudding was extra nice. But coffee creme brulée was a bit muddy looking and didnt quite work. Thee was a good crowd in and it had a good buzz. Decor is crisp, fresh and simple, though a bit too functional for a 'cosy' romantic meal.

The menu is very versatile for every dietary need of the customer. If you're vegan, vegetarian or have allergies none of this is an issue as the menu caters for almost everyones taste. Staff are genuine and friendly not over powering and in your face like some can be. I'm glad I SPOTTED it. ;-)

The Spotted Dog is a truly special place. Whether it's for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, I've had to resist ordering more than one thing on every visit. They source great local produce from Carlingford to Annagasson and cater to a variety of dietary requests. The staff are friendly and really helpful, I cannot commend the service highly enough. The restaurant is comfortable with options for indoor and outdoor seating, depending on weather of course. We had a family meal on Easter Sunday. I had the seafood plate starter: crispy breaded calamari, a delicious fishcake ball, and butter-soft smoked salmon. For main, I had the roast lamb, cooked to perfection with a perfect amount of pink and matched with a floury baked potato. Lastly, for dessert, I had a chocolate fudge cake - as decadent as you could hope for it to be. The Spotted Dog is a little gem on the Long Walk and a real culinary asset for Dundalk. If you haven't been yet, you must, and if you have, you already know you want to go again.

This was a gre ad t little find. Three course meal for €32 per a head and €24 for a bottle of quality Zinfandel. Staff brifgt was and friendly. Not in any way obtrusive. Dishes arrived in good tiime and cleared efficiemtly. Very simple and nice decor.. not in any way high end, but comfortable and warm. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Dundalk area.

Just been for a beautiful meal here this evening. We had chicken liver pate with plum chutney and sourdough bread and the tempura prawn starters followed by Chicken supreme and monkfish Thai curry for mains. Stuffed as we were we managed to share the light and delicious panna cotta for dessert all washed down with a really nice glass of Pinot grigio each. A lovely atmosphere where you see the calmness of the he kitchen staff from your table. We will be back to sample some of the other delights on the beautiful menu soon. Staff were lovely, food was fantastic! Thanks for a lovely evening.
