I had monkfish skewers, husband had pan-fried hake (€11 - absolute steal). Kids were delighted with their meals.
Super value - very rare to see lunch menus in Ireland priced at €10 - €11 for decent plates of quality food.
Place is busy, owner could not do enough for us. Real mix of locals and tourists.
I used to troubleshoot failing restaurants. I watched the staff working here, absolutely faultless in terms of COVID precautions, cleanliness and speed. A real asset to this business. 10/10.

P. M.We had breakfast in Shamrock's yesterday. Three adults and three children. All with hearty appetites. Shamrock's had been recommended to us and we could see why. Although they were very busy the staff were really friendly and helpful. A pleasant decor with comfortable tables and chairs. The menu was extensive with plenty of choice. The food, which arrived speedily, was delicious and wholesome.
B. K.I have been visiting this restaurant for years and find the food excellent, real home cooking. Having said that I have just 2 comments from 2 recent visits, the vegetables I got with my meal were very overcooked and tasteless, the chips were possibly reheated, they looked grey and oozed fat, I asked for fresh chips and unfortunately what were served were no different from the previous, the waitress apologised but said that's what they serve. Anyway this won't put me off returning but feel it's a pity if the usual high standard of food is slipping.

T. V.I hear a lot about top restaurants and their menus, chefs and successes but believe me this place would compete with the best of them. I have never been disappointed and just to mention the baked hake, if it's on the menu grab it, I believe you won't get it prepared better anywhere else and the prices are a steal. Lots of restaurants could go there and see how it's done properly.

I just think that the staff was a little bit overwhelmed and disorganized but I can't really blame them with the current state of things, I'm sure they'll be able to pick up their pace soon enough.

The adults got the most beautiful pan fried hake and grilled plaice and lamb chops -- four star food and service. The kids were well pleased with their generous portion.

M. R.Honestly a lovely restaurant. I've been there a couple times in total as I visit my partner down in dungarven and she suggested the place . Its a little bit off tbe track but still accessable from the main square and seems to be always half full . I've never seen the place queit. It's well maintained and the food is quite nice . It is on the expensive end price wise but their portions are quite large . Staff are quite polite and do check up on you from time to time to ensure satisfaction. All in all it's definitely a nice area to get a meal . On average for the two of us it priced at about 30 to 40 euros for our meal in total which isn't very expensive but given the area it would be more upscale. Would I go there again ? Absolutely if I want to go for lunch in dungarven it is the place to go . I mean I'm no food critique but I mean i like it .

For it's broad selection of dishes (may change from day to day), to food that is always cooked well and at good value you really can't go wrong with the Shamrock restaurant.
Is often busy and there's a reason for that. Having said that we never book in advance as there's always a table available.

A. F.Since my daughters, now adults, were babies, we always loved the food in the Shamrock. They have kiddie portions and excellent food, whether you want a mammy dinner or something less traditional. Their mashed potatoes are to die for, and my daughters to this day swoon over their chocolate fudge cake. The staff, always attentive, are a credit to Una. I wish you all luck when you can reopen again.
