Truly wonderful. The owner seriously undersold the view of the gorgeous sunset, and our son had so much fun playing out front. The meal itself was delicious, particular highlights being the salmon special, the beef stew and the cheesecake. We hope to return someday and if you’re dallying you should book your table immediately!

Beautifully located local restaurant with warm welcome staff members. The only thing we had was enough were chips (too many), but overall amazing food. 5 stars isn’t enough!!! Absolutely fantastic, from the service to the food, everything was just perfect. There was a group of 10 of us and we had a blast, such a personal touch while they were busy too. Do yourself a favour when in Doolin or surroundings areas, go visit there, you won’t be disappointed!!

Came back to this wonderful little gem after discovering it last year while visiting the Cliffs of Moher. A perfect restaurant for those with kids as the outdoor play area is safe and big enough to keep them entertained while you can enjoy your meal. As with the first time, found the staff to be excellent and very attentive. Food was delicious and the desserts were all homemade. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area to visit!

I have to disagree with the previous review. I visited this restaurant on July 14 and couldn’t say enough good things about it.The owner and staff were considerate, COVID responsibility was a priority with them. I had three very picky teenagers who are hard to please. The menu and chef specials catered to all their needs. The children’s menu had so many different choices and not your standard “chicken and chip” menu. Food was fantastic and delicious! We normally don’t order desserts but we all couldn’t resist from what we seen and menu choices..it was well worth it. The staff were lovely and so helpful to customers who were cycling as to what road to take for their safety. I have never written a review before but when I read the previous review I had to write in to say myself and children loved Stonecutters and have to say it was the best meal out we have had this week on our holidays. The outdoor playground was an added bonus..thank you to the owners and staff it was a delight to have eaten in your establishment.

Stopped here after visiting the Cliffs of Moher. Friendly staff, fair prices and their Irish stew was good. We grabbed a bench and table outside, even though it looked quite cosy inside. Would definitely recommend stopping here instead of joining the crowd having lunch at the Cliffs of Moher visitors center.

This was a restaurant that we chose on a whim as we drove south from Doolin. And it's always a delight when you stumble upon an unknown treasure. The atmosphere is adorable - so colorful and quirky. The waitresses, who are clearly summer wanderers, were goofy and sweet. The food was fresh, and tasty and it is clear that the owners make a real effort to use and support local products. Best of all, it's away from the summer crowds which seem to be omnipresent in the summer. Also, there are cute little playgrounds outside for the kids if you have any.

we passed this place on way to the cliffs. Honestly didn't even cross our minds to stop as it looked unpresuming from the road. we rang last minute and were we told we could come straight in. we are both veggies and we were not sure what to expect. we had the choice of lentil burger with goats cheese and side salad. well we were not disappointed. It was so tasty and well cooked. . They also had other options for us too and lots of home made desserts. we had the bread and butter pudding 😋. delicious

Such a welcome sight with crowd of kids in the car! Lovely playground and ship for kids to run around jusy off the road. One of the greatest hidden gems of West Clare. The food was just divine, and the Strawberry Cheesecake for dessert was unbeatable. I wish the owners every continued success with your restaurant. The Chef even came out and chatted with us. There was even a friendly dog outside who escorted me back to the car. This is well worth a stop. It can get busy, it is worth the wait.

My wife and I only intended to have the main course, but everything looked so good we had to have the starter & dessert too! The menu constantly changes but based on our experience everything is a winner. As of July 2020 & the post Covid19 regulations, I advise booking ahead as social distancing restrictions having reduced the numbers of tables, and even on a Thursday night it was busy. But excellent food & superb setting.

This is a really great place! We had a gorgeous lunch (stew highly recommended!) and it's very family friendly. There's a playground and the kids menu is great. Great even if you don't have kids. We were too stuffed for dessert, but they looked scrumptious! The staff were friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were spotless. If you're in the area, you should go.

Menu are simple and the price is reasonable. They even have recommendation on their black board in front of the restaurant if they have something different that day. We ordered fish & chips, seafood chowder, and beef burger. The food was great and in large portion. At the end of our meal I ordered bread pudding with custard. They heated the custard so it was really good. The restaurant is small and cozy. You can choose either to sit outside or inside. It's a nice family restaurant. There's a small playground and toys for the children. The decorations are both simple and unique. They even put prices at some of the paintings or clocks, so you can buy them if you want. There's a small parking space at the restaurant so you won't have trouble finding or need to park your car beside the winding road. The staff are really friendly and they always check on us if we need anything else. I would highly recommend my friends and family who are going to the Cliffs of Moher to stop by and eat here.

Very warm and friendly staff. Feels welcoming when you get there and sit down. While they don’t have beer on tap, they do still have a fair selection of cans and bottles. Food was very tasty, although the peppercorn steak was a bit over cooked from what I asked for (med rare). It was the perfect stop after a few hours of walking around the Cliffs.

Had a great experience in the stonecutters kitchen on monday 13th july, stopped off here for some food with the kids, it was busy but keeping with all the guildlines we were made feel so comfortable. We had the fresh fish of the day (hake) and the delish stew...kids were delighted with the choices they had...great menu and very tasty food,playground outside to keep the kids happy too. Gorgeous place and very freindly staff, we will head straight for this place again when we are out that way.

Leaving the Cliffs of Moher we noticed the bright yellow restaurant, and decided to go in for a bite as we had not had lunch yet. We were pleasantly surprised! It was small but every table was filled. We ordered the soup of the day, vegetable soup. It was quite good and filling. Burger with chips and a side of onion rings. Both were very good. Cozy, fast service, and good food. So glad we stopped here. Better than anything we could have gotten at the Cliffs of Moher.

Karen and her crew were perfect Hosts. She even made a apple crumble specially for us! If your booking a table please do turn up. While we were dining 3 tables reserved never turned up and it dosent help a restaurant in theses current times. We'll done Karen and crew, loved all the wonderful food. We traveled with a large group of 15 or so and had made a reservation over email. Karen was incredibly responsive and set us in a side room largely to ourselves. Upon arrival, the first thing we noticed was that they have an AMAZING play place for children out front (pirate ship swing set, etc.). We traveled with a 2 year old, and so that was a lovely surprise. The second thing was the location. Although Stonecutters is away from the main Doolin drag, it's perched adjacent to the Cliffs of Moher and has a stunning view of the west coast from the outside. The food itself was great. You're going to get traditional Irish fare on the menu, but we appreciated the vegetarian and gluten free options given some the dietary restrictions of our group. That's not always the case in rural Ireland. I had pork medallions served with an Irish whiskey/mustard hollandaise that was lovely and topped it off with a scrumptious apple crumble. I'd add Stonecutters also had one of the best selections I'd seen in the area for local craft breweries.

The place is really cute and cosy! I loved that it is colourful! The food was amaaaasing and in big portion! The guiness stew was delicious and the salad whose name i dont remember (but it had apples and goat cheese) was tasty ! The service was for sure friendly and quick. The only annoying thing is that the service staff wouldnt mind talk about their schedule and their personal stuff loudly next to the customers without getting how disturbing and unprofessional it is. And we actually saw one waiteress run out of the kitchen to ask another one something about theis schedule.. while she was taking an order.. and the customer was talking... with a small training of professional service that place will be top ! What a great find! We drove past on our way to the Cliffs of Moher, and after touring the Cliffs we decided to stop for a bite to eat. Stonecutters Kitchen was the best surprise. They use a lot of locally farmed stuff in their menu, and the food was excellent. The Beef & Guinness Stew may be the best in Ireland (more testing needed!). If you are in the area, stop here if you are hungry, you won't be disappointed.

On the way back from Moher cliffs: The wind blew in your hair (if you have any), the scenery blew your mind, and now you need some good coffee and something to warm your belly and calm your mind. Make sure you don't miss the whimsical signs pointing you to a place that pops out in view and offers a warm hospitality, local produce, and a pleasant home-away-from home feeling. Very recommended. If you come with your kids-- join them on the pirate ship! ( And tip kindly, too!)
