Reviews of Linnane's Lobster Bar
R. M.
Delicious dinner last weekend that exceeded expectations. Oysters were perfect -- sliding right off the shell with no fork needed. Companion got the special, and it was excellent. Even the wine list was well put together offering quality options. Loved the lobster, but it maybe could have had more thoughtful potatoes. The potatoes that went with the special were perfectly cooked, panfried, and seasoned, whereas, the ones with the lobster were just boiled, plain and sad. I can forgive, because everything else was so delightful.
We lucked out to get a seat in the back by the water on a non-rainy Irish day.
I was expecting Linnane's to be a tourist trap, but the food was great. I recommend you go if you're in the general area. Moran's used to be my go-to but I think I might take the extra time to drive here.

Incredible food experience right at the water. Quality produce cooked to the best standard. Superb atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food and drink from start to finish. We tried everything from fish & chips, to steak & lobster and it was all cooked to perfection. We will be back!
E. M.
Apart from making an error with our booking, can’t fault them. Great welcome and great food! Will definitely be back

We had such a fab meal here last week in the sunshine. We shared a seafood platter to start and then had three different mains, all of which were faultless. The location is beautiful and I feel the pricelist is very fair considering the quality of the food. Our food was a little slow arriving but the restaurant was extremely busy and the quality of the food was not compromised given the amount of people dining that night. Will be back!

We all make mistakes but it's what happens next that shows your class. Our main order was somehow forgotten in the Sunday busyness, and we couldn't wait any longer as we had to be elsewhere. Without any quibble whatsoever they wouldn't even take payment for our starters and drinks. We had clams and calamari that were so delicious even to a cod and chips man like myself. The sea views and relaxed atmosphere was so enjoyable that we didn't really notice that we had been waiting for so long until it was too late and we really had to run. Pure Clare class, it's not my first time there and it won't be my last, we will be back again.

Lucky to get a seat with no booking. Love this place.
We ordered a doz oysters and 2 pints of Guinness. The oysters couldn't have been fresher and the pints creamier. Bliss. Always worth stopping here

We went out of our way to get to Linnane's for a snack. It was worth every inch of the way. Chowder was absolutely delicious. I'm sorry we could not stay for main course but for sure we will be back for main course next time. the place was lovely and clean, well organised, and SAFE. The staff were friendly and very efficient. The views are stunning. It would be best to make a reservation as it's a very very busy place. 100%

Excellent! Been there a year ago with a group of friends, and now again with my family. The staff is kind, friendly and respectful. The seafood is simply great. We wanted to treat ourselves this time and we got oysters and lobster. All gorgeous! Fresh and juicy, well prepared and presented. I'd definitely recommend this place and hope to come back soon!

No room in outside restaurant overlooking the harbour but picnic seating to enjoy FABULOUS FRESH fish and chips from their take away van parked outside the front of the pub. 5 stars 🌟
L. C.
The best restaurant on the wild atlantic way, crab claws or mussels to start and fish cakes or fish pie for the main. Friendliest staff and tastiest food. Our family favourite restaurant ❤ 10/10.
D. M.
There's nothing more that I can say that hasn't probably been said already. One of the best seafood restaurants I've been too, lobster is a great experience and the hake was cooked to perfection
N. P.
this is a very well known place in the area, finding a table can be really challenging, but totally worth the hazzle. you will find tourists and locals, all enjoying fresh seafood next to the sea. prices are really fair and you can enjoy what otherwise is a very expensive plate with a smaller budget and good service.
K. U.
Great place, fabulous food, lobster was brought from sea in the front of us! 😊Doesn't get any fresher then this!!!! Absolutely lovely staff, dog friendly place, plenty space outside. Must visit place!!! 😊👍
C. J.
Sea food here is absolutely delicious. Have visited twice and 10/10 experiences both times. Will definitely be back next time we're in the area.
B. C.
Beautifully food, exceptional views and great staff. We ate here for Father's Day outside and we had a great time.
G. M.
The good. Scenery beautiful. Food excellent and after that it goes downhill. I have seldom met such amateurish waiting staff. Not one professional amongst them. They deliver food drink but have no idea how to excel at their jobs. Between the first course and main course we waited 40 minutes. During that time not one staff member came over and asked if we would like another drink. I observed during that time that the staff never checked on any of their guest. When the main course arrived I did request another drink that never arrived. Also the norm would be that a member of staff would check on guests once during the meal if everything was to satisfaction and if anything else was needed. Never happened. Can not blame the staff as it was not one person who was like that but all. This implies its a management issue that has little experience in training and supervision. Pity as the potential is clearly visible to be on of the great seafood restaurants on the west coast. At the moment though even though the food is great one leaves disappointed
R. O.
This place has amazing fresh fish and seafood at great prices. It's busy so you should book. Very good Covid system in place.... And last night there was an amazing sunset. So worth a visit!!
J. H.
Absolutely gorgeous setting and fish delishous. We had oysters, class, crab claws, mussels and calamari and they were all really good. It is rustic with great views out to sea. I will definitely be back.
D. O.
Fresh seafood at a great price you need to book this place to avoid disappointment. I’ve never seen it quite which speaks volumes about the quality. Well worth the visit if you are anywhere near it. Highly recommend the seafood chowder with muscles marinara for main course you can’t go wrong with the homemade brown bread on the side
R. C.
Lovely lunch here yesterday, food was fresh & plentiful. Well priced. Great Guinness. Place is in the middle of nowhere but well worth the trek. Staff very nice and friendly. Highly recommend.
M. O. B.
Family dinner at 6 o'c.Saturday evening.
2 Guinness stews, 1 salmon, 1 chicken,1 Fish & chips, 2 Rack of lamb, 1 child's dish, various desserts and a few beers and wine. Service excellent. Price very good which deserved a generous tip.Happy out!!
B. C.
Really enjoyed our family meal here. Something for all tastes but the seafood is a must.
C. F.
Beautiful food and desert to die for had a lovely New year's eve dinner six of us staff so pleasant great atmosphere would highly recommend a visit
N. H.
Really great. I had the fish and chips with a Guinness. Chips are cooked to perfection. The fish is crispy and a decent size.
Nice staff, lovely spot. Highly recommend.
P. H.
The service was appointment based and followed covid guidelines. As part of a larger group it took a few extra minutes to get us in but they expertly took care of us. The food was excellent, and recommendations based on individual likes was on point. It was quite busy on a Saturday night and we were still taken care of quite timely. We will visit again!
S.
Fabulous fish & seafood & a great excellent restaurant! Very friendly staff & all dishes from dinner to dessert were just fabulous & we enjoyed the fine dining over here! We recommend to book a table in advance! Yum!
H. C.
Delicious food in an area with stunning views.
W. V.
Good service, friendly and nice staff. Loved the oysters!
S. W. (.
Can not rate the takeaway unit outside the door highly enough. It has the best Hake burgers....don't go safe and have fish and chips....try the fish burger and you won't be sorry. Also the prawn skewer are amazing. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Very clean and covid measures in place
D. L.
Great food, fantastic location & good ambience
A. B.
While the location it,s just gourgeous in the West of Ireland, the gastronomic experience was not that great for the second time.
We haven't got a great value for money, waiting an incredible 50 minutes between starters and main courses.
Staff, half of it really nice and friendly while the other half, not at all, they look very stressed
We don't think, we would try again.
P. M.
Fish and chips were lovely but could have done with a few more chips and the mushy peas were mashed into a paste. The desserts were disappointing, the Christmas pudding was dry and the apple crumble was bitter.
C. L.
Place was really cold. Food good
J. F.
The view and the food are amazing. The co-owner knows and loves his beer. We felt more than welcomed. He recommended a Black Rye IPA that was the best beer I had on the trip.
L. D.
Probably the best sea food we had during our trip on the west coast. Highly recommend this place. Thanks!
G. K.
Great location and great job done on their outdoor dining space. All our food was good and no issues with orders or anything. Staff were polite and attentive as needed. Will return if in the area again.
L. M.
The food was absolutely incredible. All the fish was so fresh and cooked to perfection. Staff were all very friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone that enjoy seafood.
J. D.
Dropped in on the off chance they would have a table. They had a barrel for 2 which we gladly accepted. Service was pleasant and prompt. It was a little awkward eating at the barrel but unprompted we were offered a table once one became available. The food was delicious and excellent value for the quality.
T. T.
The bar was fully booked, had to que for half an hour for the takeaway van outside!! I think they could cut that time down a bit with some better organisation, but regardless, it is worth waiting for!! We got two fish burgers, and they were spectacular!! Huge piece of fresh, perfectly cooked fish, absaloutly delicious!!
H. M.
All family went for parents in law 50th birthday. Food fabulous and always is. Fantastic service. Child friendly. Live near here and have been before. Consistent amazing
G. B.
This is the best seafood in Ireland. Huge, meaty oysters. One of the few places that asked us about our meals and refilled our water glasses. The service was really top notch, friendly and welcoming. Worth the drive.
R. M. G.
Stopped by here, after a walk by flaggy shore, and although I can't eat seafood, I enjoyed a fantastic chicken dish. Staff were friendly, and overall, we enjoyed our dinner. I'd recommend that you stop by.
R. B.
Beautiful restaurant by the sea. They even offer a vegetarian options. The service provided by the staff especially Rory was exceptional.
J. M.
The menu is short and conventional. The food is fine though. But what separates this place is its location. If the weather allows at all try to get a table in the terrace. The view from the terrace is fantastic.
C. R.
Great street food, west Clare style! Thanks!
S. D.
This was spectacular. The fish literally comes directly off the boat outside and is skillfully cooked by a chef who I presume is about to win a Michelin star. We tried a variety from the menu including the lobster and I can not impress upon you dear reader how good this restaurant was. But please, book in advance it is not a secret anymore!
E. M.
Good atmosphere and reasonable food except of Chowder. I thick lumps of poorly made white sauce with tiny flakes of occasional fish in it. I love my chowder and this was the worst I ever had.
P. W.
Huge competition for this type of food in the area but I only know one better place ;)
Mussels were a killer.
A. S.
Absolutely incredible food. Staff were superb and the setting perfect.
J. C. -. s. h.
Review is for the takeaway. They were busy and forgot some of our stuff. The fish was lovely but portions were off for the overall meal. Wait for dine in or skip it.
N. M.
Food was gorgoeous! Service was just ok. It took a long time to get a waiter once we were seated and there was a very long wait in between starters and mains. However, the atmosphere was beautiful and staff very friendly. So other than the wait times, it was perfect.
d.
Amazing place. Exceptional food. 10 of us had food and drinks. Fed and watered to the highest standards. Loved it. Will most definitely be back. 5 stars.
C. B.
Great seafood. Lovely staff. Very enjoyable two dinners there and very welcoming of kids. Highly recommend.
S. W.
Really good lobster and seafood restaurant. Make sure to come here if you’re nearby!
G. K.
We Had oysters here in Linnanes on
Mon 27th, the best quality and freshest to date as we do an oyster tour around the country, in Carlingford at the moment, you are still the winner
K. S.
Amazing food! We tried the garlic butter crab claws, clams and lobster; might be my favorite meal in Ireland.
J. O.
Nice spot. Very good food. Friendly staff. Service a bit slow on this occasion, but overall very pleased.
K. F.
Amazing food. Great staff. Even with outdoor dining and a thunder storm with the heaviest rain imaginable, the staff were excellent!
L. Q.
Came in a search of a wee bowl of chowder after Burren walk. Was abruptly turned away due to establishment being booked out for the day. Could do better with customer service. All customers matter..
D. C.
Conor and team run a great show and the seafood was delicious, beautiful location and only sorry we couldn't eat outside again but we shall return.
F. H.
Great food and Guinness. Looked after us very well.
M. M.
Idyllic situation, looking over small harbour, Lobstar pots. If you can sit out, & look over the Flaggy Shore landscape, it is especially wonderful. Sitting inside, though, looking through their fine, big windows is pretty good too. And.... the Seafood served... well now, that IS great. Visit Russell Gallery nearby. Walk in this area, it is lovely. Find Linalla homemade ice cream!
M. H.
Food was amazing. Menu caters for everyone. Service is top class. Very welcoming atmosphere. Our server Cian was a very pleasant accompaniment to the meal and made our experience all the better.
M. O.
Great food. Loved location. Ate from the mobile unit out front, fish and chips fantastic.
L. O. M. D.
Great service and excellent 👏 👌 food
J. R.
As always, the food is amazing. It was a wonderful dining experience apart from servers being untrained. Only possible explanation for such poor service. Please do better.
G. C.
Lovely food, friendly staff and a beautiful location looking out over Galway Bay. Covid requirements were fully and efficiently implemented and everything felt safe. A great experience
A. R.
Delicious food and lovely view! The seafood was fantastic, tasted really fresh and the stuff was lovely and attentive.
G. D.
Best fish restaurant, great views
D. N.
Food was fabulous , as sea food goes its fresh and beautifully cooked and the staff are very nice and helpful. I can't wait for my next meal there , great job guys .
I. S.
Very nice place to eat a good fish and to drink a good wine!!
B. K.
Great seafood spot right on a pier not far from kinvarra. They had really good seafood chowder and extremely fresh oysters. They also had options for my vegetarian girlfriend.
C. M.
Superb food, nothing else like it for 10 leagues, generally good service
E.
The service was great and the portions are really big. The food was alright.
O. H.
Lovely food and great service!

Had a Family Reunion at Linnanes today. Food and service was excellent. Jordan looked after us and was both courteous and welcoming. Really enjoyed our visit and will be back again
A. G.
Menu is extensive. Lots of options. Food is fab, a bit pricey but worth it. They have lots of covid measures in place so very safe ..
I. G.
Very delicious oysters! Everything local and we defently will come back in the future
M. T. L.
Top-notch place for fish dishes. Make sure you book or you get rudely turned away even if place looks half empty.
B. W.
First time eating here and it will not be the last. It certainly lived up to its reputation. The staff were great and very friendly. I had the fish and chips, which was hake and it was delicious. A really good sized piece and very thick. I was really happy with it.
I was looking around at all the other guest and seeing what they were and everything looked so well presented and very tasty looking.
P. W.
Stunning views and brilliant seafood at Linnane's Lobster Bar.
S. L.
Great seafood & drink, welcoming staff. What's not to like?
J. M.
I have been a customer for few years now, and this place is still one of my favorites for great seafood.
After a long overdue visit (we couldn't go last Christmas due to restrictions) we returned and the experience didn't disappoint.
- Oysters were perfect, with a creamy pint of the black stuff makes it the best match.
- Crab Claws. With the butter sauce, is always a choice every time we visit Linnane's.
- Chowder is one of the best in the area.
- Fish & Chips comes with a very generous portion of fish and it was really good.
Staff is always friendly and attentive, although it took a little while to bring our mains, after the starters, place got really busy all of a sudden so it is understandable.
Only suggestion I have : Please bring back the Crab cake! It was delicious (and the fish cakes are just not the same).
R. L.
Had a great dinner here when we first arrived in New Quay.. everything was delicious!
S. O. S.
Lovely visit here for Sunday lunch- crab sandwich was stunning! Lovely setting
M. G. A. K.
Guinness top notch... Hard to leave by 8 but Thems the rules.. A1+

Tipperary is well and thriving in county clare. Top class food and drink and the boss man is from Thurles. So you can't go wrong. Well done to all the staff. We will be back
S. D.
We had a superb meal here and were looked after so well. The staff are really friendly. The atmosphere is nice and cosy. The food is amazing...I can’t say enough about how good the surf n turf is. All very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
R. S.
Great food, large portions, beautiful seaside views
L. B.
One of my favourite fresh seafood places ever! Hidden gem that's a little off the beaten path. From sea to table within hours if not mins. A well known favourite lunch or dinner spot with some of the local scuba divers too.
S. L.
Excellent restaurant right on the pier with views right over the bay. You can literally see the lobster and crab pots stacked up on the pier while you eat your meal. Lovely atmosphere - usually a good mix of locals and tourists. Good guinness, excellent crab claws and lobster (served as they should be - butter, garlic and lemon). Friendly and efficient staff.
E. M.
Great spot they have, staff are excellent, you wouldnt get a better fresh fish anywhere.
f.
One of those whimsical places at the end of the world with beautiful views and absolutely fabulous food.

Great spot for food outdoor dining excellent! Highly recommend!

Great food. Fresh seafood, everything is made and served perfectly

Beautifully cooked lobster 🦞😻 very causal nice atmosphere

Really great quality seafood in an outdoor and socially-distant setting. Steady flow of customers a testament to the great dining experience. Staff v efficient and engaged. It helped that we had lovely weather to enjoy the deck.
F. Z.
Great food and great service. Highly recommend! Top destination for sea food lovers in Ireland

Excellent food and service. Try the seafood chowder.
c. c.
Great spot plenty of room outside
M. C.
Just stumpled on this outstanding restaurant. We got a table for 2 at window with beautiful views. Food was delicious and staff were lovely. Great to see Very strict with health restrictions with one way in and out of restaurant and all table's chairs sanitised after each customer leaves. Would definitely recommend and we will be back. Well done to all.
M. V.
Great location, good food, limited menu and slow service.
M. x.
The food was great, the place was very busy so a long wait time, but worth it in the end.
J. W.
Great location. Excellent Lobster straight out of the sea and onto your plate. A must when in North Clare.
t. c.
Super food. Nice outdoor area and we ate from the food van. Rely clean and tasty food.

Great restaurant. We came early and had it mostly to ourselves! Manager said that's because school started a couple weeks ago. The staff was really nice and helpful. I had the poached salmon. It was very mild and tender. Very good! My wife had the Lobster tail. She thought it was very good too! The views are great. The decor is very attractive and cost. Not too expensive either.
E. F.
Fantastic seafood, the best oysters I've ever eaten, beautiful views. I tell everybody going to the area to go.
J. B.
Exquisite. If you like your seafood go here! Worth the drive. We were seated with another group and it was lovely. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The service was excellent and the food was out of this world. I had the chicken wings and the hake and I couldn't stop eating!!! My fiance had the chowder and the lamb and he said it was fantastic. We had a lovely view of the water. Cosy, romantic and a perfect spot to bring visitors too. Can't fault this place ☺
D. M.
The food was amazing and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going back 😁
M. E.
We visited in a heatwave and so had the bonus of harbour front outdoor eating. Lovely views, exceptionally friendly staff, especially our waitress. The food was also exceptional. My simple fish pie was far from simple, loaded with flavours and textures. My husband's cod with chorizo and shellfish was also fantastic.
D. O. C.
Great evening at Linnanes, food standard was excellent, we were helped with a beautiful evening.
N. C.
We booked for 10 adults, 2 children (age 5.5 and 9months). The entrance is deceiving as come in between a bar and restaurant. There was a good vibe in the restaurant and staff were busy but welcoming, happy Professional and very efficient. We were seated immediately with seats by the window (not great views at night as outside not lit up but still good seats).
Some of our guests were delayed(routed to wrong linnanes bar) but this was not an issue with staff. Food was delicious and service was excellent even during this busy time (bank Holiday Saturday night).
Highly recommended. The crab claws, oysters and Sea Bream were my favourites 😉👌 keep up the good work guys....
x. A.
I take my 91 yr old relative here on a regular basis and she is immediately welcomed by Mark, who makes a fuss of her, getting a table and arriving with a cushion for her. The food is excellent and the friendly staff make it all the more enjoyable. On leaving Mark usually rushes over to kiss her goodbye, she loves this. Excellent service, excellent food, excellent staff.
J. F.
Exceptional is the only word for it. From the service and location, to the food. What a wonderful experience.
S. O. C.
Had lunch here last Saturday with my Uncle & Daughter. Great choice in many. We love fish so it's heaven for us. If your not a fish lover it has lots of other choices. The staff were very friendly & efficient. Very clean & lovely view of the sea. I have visited here in many occasions & it's always busy but the standard is high.
H. W.
The best place to stop after a walk along the Flaggy Shore. Car park was full but we were welcomed & served in no time at all. Great atmosphere. Menu range & choice is plentiful. Had Fish( Hake) n Chips. They were the best - good fresh quality plate of food. Would definitely recommend & will return.
A. E.
Delicious food and attentive staff, I will be back more often.
M. R.
An authentic fishing community, the bar had really fresh local produce with a great atmosphere
J. T. E.
Love visiting this restaurant when we are in the area with clients. Great service, great atmosphere and wonderful views. Food arrives in good time, staff are attentive, and we always clean our plates. My favourite is the chicken wing starter and the prawn salad mains! Good decent size portions too.
D. R.
Great seafood restaurant overlooking the water.
D. D.
The oysters were lovely, The Chowder was a bit stodgy, the crab claws were okay
J. F.
I had an amazing meal and service here. I found it by accident and was very pleased I did. The service was great. The food was superb. I had my first Oysters which were very excellent. Great atmosphere. Would certainly go again.
R. S.
Great food. I had the fish and chips. Really enjoyed it. The only thing I would say is that the sea was a bit choppy while we crossed over from Galway Port.
If they could do something about that they would get the full 5 stars. Some sort of weather controlling machine or something. I don't know I'm not in the restaurant business.
J. S.
This place is fantastic. Fantastic food and views. Friendly helpful accommodating staff. Deceptive from the outside but drive round and go in. We will definately return next time we're in the area. My husband had chowder and loved it
A. B.
Great food, lovely Guinness and friendly staff. Loved the place.
L. J.
One of the best for seafood, order something in the special menu and get ready to be spoiled. Great view to the bay, ordinary fisherman's life and forces o nature. Friendly and always smiled staff. Remember to book before visiting, you might be surprised how hard it is to find and empty table.
E. B.
Always excellent food and very friendly staff, will be back again .
J.
Amazing little restaurant on the bed of the river. Prices were a bit high for what you’d expect from a place so close to the sea. We ate outside as a group of 6 and had a blast. Call in advance to make a reservation as it was a bit busy. The mussels were especially tasty.
R. E.
Nice place to sit and eat by the water. The seafood is amazing.
I tried the fish pie and it was alright, but I could just not be a fan of fish pie. Others had the scallops and risotto and said the scallops were great but the risotto was only good.
S. K.
What a setting, right on New Quay pier. Choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The benches out back are great for a pint with a view. Main course was delicious and very reasonably priced - felt we got good value and we will definitely return.
C. B.
We were staying locally and our host recommended this place for dinner. It was charming, with a fire and locals in the front bar, artwork displayed throughout, and friendly staff. I ordered the clams for entree and main of poached salmon which was cooked really well and my husband ordered the soup and monkfish special which he enjoyed. We tried the elderflower cheesecake which was incredibly light and fluffy - worth a try if you have room! The organic white wine was excellent, as was the porterhouse beer on tap. We decided to return the following night as it was so convenient, and this time we ordered the steak which was cooked to perfection with a standout pepper sauce, and the crabcakes. Again, fantastic dishes and service from the staff. Price was reasonable when compared with surrounding restaurants.
A. G.
Thank you very much for the delicious food and very good service.
Drumcreehy Country House, Ballyvaughan

We popped in on St Patrick's day for a quick bite to eat. We had the seafood chowder, crab cakes and both were amazing.
Its a great spot, staff are very nice and welcoming,we'll definitely be back again.
E. K.
It is one of our favourite restaurants. Delicious food. Fast service. Honest personnel. Yesterday I forgot my bag in there and I got it back. Thank you so much ☺🤗
j. j.
On this occasion I only had a glass of Pino Grigio light and tasty. My companion had a fish full bowl of chowder that he really enjoyed. It canme with a generous portion of home made brown bread. Lovely friendly service.
Great vegetarian option but the perfect spot for the fish lover.
Right beside the pier and overlooking the water, great bird life. Place high on you must visit list!
J. W.
Absolutely delicious food and the staff were great
B. D.
Great food and location with very prompt and friendly service. The decor can feel a little cold as its not a cosy pub. Apart from that, if you are looking for a pint and some decent grub while exploring this beautiful part of Ireland, you cant go wrong.
B. V. H.
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Tried the 1/2 kg lobster which was good. The outlook over the harbour / pier is a plus. The waiters gave us a warm welcome and ensured everything was to our satisfaction.
A. V.
bit delayed but gorgeous food and views, the crew was really nice 💗💗💗
L. H.
Great fish and chips with a lovely view.

Brilliant food .Will be back for sure .
j. n.
Had to sit at the bar but that is always a good sign for us, food beyond compare! This is a real treat for us! We treasure every visit. Fresh sea food is hard come by but this has it all, great selection of drinks for every taste and the sun drenched terrace over looking the harbour helped to top off a brilliant day!!
J. C.
Just dropped in to Linnanes to book dinner for 7:30 this evening. We got our usual warm welcome and have had many top class meals here. Nice Guinness too. Joe and Ann
O. Z.
Amazing, seafood platter, calamari, and cheese cake. Very very happy. Staff so nice. We come back soon
O. M.
Exquisite food, we always stop there on the way back from a tour to the cliffs. The seafood chowder is rich and generous and the views will keep you smiling through dessert.
D. B.
Food was great but service need improvements
C. P.
Service was good, food was ok.
C. M. D.
Great spot. Friendly staff - good food. Nice post covid buzz!
T. E.
This is simply a hidden gem. Not in the usual way that hidden gems are mentioned in turist guides and ads everywhere but rather in the true absolute sense of the phrase.
They catch fish fresh from the charming little pier outside every day and the freshness of all the sea food on the menu is super easy to taste and an absolute joy for the palate.
Add the that it is an upretentious place that has fantastic value for money and you know while I always take the extra drive whenever I'm nearby to visit.
Of course I should mention that the views from this place are also great since it is situated right along the wild Atlantic way.
M. C.
I have to figure out what spices they put in that calamari batter. It was delicious!
D. N.
Today was our first time at Linnane's. Our experience was just unbelievable. We never had seafood like this on a very busy bank holiday Sunday afternoon. Fabulous views, great staff and a most wonderful atmosphere. A must on the Wild Atlantic way!
T. C.
Great food and friendly staff..
Cheers🍻
T. H.
Really good food. Massive portions. Really friendly, attentive staff. These guys are running a bar/restaurant as it should be done. Informal, friendly, professional. Enjoy your evening

Food was Absolutely Fantastic, very very tasty indeed. We chose to sit at a table to take in the Sea View , the down side to this experience was the fact that other customers used the door to let their children in & out several times throughout our meal. This made our food cold, in making a comment to these people they chose to do it even more, which was very unnecessary as there was another door they could have used and walked round. This alone has ruined our experience, why the staff can not make customers use the other door and respect dining customers is beyond me. It is a shame, if you are reading this review please bare this in mind if you wish to eat your meal whilst taking in the Sea View after all that is why the tables are there one would assume.

Very nice fish restaurant
S. K.
Excellent prawn salad and Rib parking spaces.
B. O.
Wonderful Seafood. Excellent service. A must if in the West of Ireland. Take the trip down! Tell Conor Brendan sent you. Look out on the trawler that landed your dinner.
J. L.
The best seafood I have ever had. I usually get the scallops with risotto. Evenings can be quite busy so if there's a group then you should make a reservation.
E. C.
What a well.hidden gem and cannot be missed. Excellent menu and the food second to none and very reasonably priced. The staff are lovely too. Put it on your bucket list
A. T.
Food and service is exceptional here.
S. M.
Must stop in again! I'm very happy to pass on the recommendation.
P. C.
Great food always worth stopping for.
S. S.
Great food. Friendly staff.
F. O.
A fantastic restaurant on the north coast of Co. Clare only a small detour from the Atlantic Way. I watched a member of the staff pop out to the pier with a fishing rod. Naturally the fish dishes did not disappoint.
P. B.
I'm American and have been to the Cliffs two times. Both times we've stopped at Linnane's for lunch en route. Something so cozy and comforting about this place. I will inevitably return to the Cliffs and also to Linnane's.
J. Q.
Excellent as always. Big queue but everyone prepared to wait
T. G.
We ve been coming to Linnanes Lobster bar for many many years so its about time for me to tell others about this place. Its a hidden gem! It has the best seafood for miles around in an understated casual relaxed Irish setting.(try open crabmeat sandwich and chowder). Its a traditional unique irish small pub located by a tiny fishing quay with restaurant tables on one end of the premises. It also has tables outside for sunny days. The service is consistently good and welcoming. Its located close to(500m) a beautiful coastal loop walk named the Flaggy shore so you can get in a gorgeous walk before your lunch/dinner. Highly recommended!
B. C.
Very Good Fish restaurant at reasonable priced. No problem with parking with lots of room.Staff friendly and efficient. I will go back there again when I am in the area.
R. s.
Park your car at Linnanes and have a 7.5km loop walk following the minor roads of the peninsula. In the end reward yourself with oysters and tasty seafood pie. Perfect afternoon.
B. H.
Great little spot for dinner, pint of Guinness and the music on a Saturday night turns it into an official disco. Lots of fun to be had.
Didn't get to sample the lobster as the lobster fisherman was on his holidays
S. G.
Amazing food, friendly and fast service and gorgeous views. Highly recommended.
S. S. S.
Enjoyed a wonderful meal with our son Tony & daughter in law Sarah Winters Fox on Saturday 1st Dec.2018, The food was absolutely amazing

A. R.
Wonderful seafood, great service!
k. h.
The past few time I've gone I feel like the quality has really gone down hill. The chowder had a weird consistency and the prawns were definitely frozen.
j. d.
Superb seafood, in a very relaxed setting.
C. M.
Great atmosphere and gin selection!
E. D.
Great shpot for a creamy chowder and a creamier Guinness.
S. C.
It was a lovely experience. We did not have booking and it was extremely busy but the staff recommended that we wait a short time and sure to their word we were seated in 10 mins. Food great and staff excellent. I will book in advance in future.

Á. B.
A little crowded but still quick service and very fresh seafood. Great view. Loved the place!
E. J.
Tastes good but portions are small
P. Ó. C.
Totally unbelievable. Driving along the road between Kinvara & New Quay you come across a country house with a whole lot of cars out side. A funeral surely! No, one of the finest restaurants you could enter. No longer a hidden secret but definitely in hidden Ireland. A beautiful dish of scallops, breast of duck and fish cakes that was our chosen fare this evening. 4 happy punters full but so was Linnanes, a gem of high cuisine. If you are in the area take the time out, you won't regret it.
A. E.
I ve been many times & will return many more i hope. Shellfish excellent, service always top notch & great pint of Guinness too. What more do u want..oh yeah fresh air& views..thats there too..cant go wrong really.
J. D.
Location is great service is good but they could do with a bit more staff. Food portions have been on the small side lately but it always tastes great
A. M.
Fantastic food, service and such a lovely location. Just spent a wonderful
week in County Clare, we had an amazing afternoon in Linnanes and went back the next day for another super afternoon.
G. L.
Service rather slow - normally very good. Seemed to be an off day
D. H.
All fish was excellent need to revisit the chowder though could be a lot better .
Service was top class
R. C.
I do like this place an awful lot and come here often but I find the food prices here can be very steep for what you get. €13.50 for a small bowl of veggie stew.
D. M.
So ridiculously delicious. Staff are always great. Food is outstanding. I love going here.
M. M.
Excellent food
Brilliant staff.
B. W.
You'd be crazy to pass this restaurant. Excellent consistent quality food, great service, fantastic Irish pup/restaurant athmosphere with great views and great value for money.

Amazing seafood restaurant and cosy bar. Food was super, fresh off the boat literally! Would highly recommend and will be back again when on the west coast
P. A.
No better place to heat up and refuel after a stroll along the flaggy shore! Great food and full bar service available. Can get busy so be patient, it's worth the wait!
A. H.
Great place to bring the family, excellent value for such quality food and service.
L. J.
Was really looking forward to this for months prior to vacation. It was just ok. Scallops were very chewy and the only lobster choice was a whole lobster. Disappointed. But a cute place
D. S.
Always busy, but probably the best value seafood bar-restaurant along this part of the coast. Fresh local fish, nice location, good friendly staff.
m. c.
Food is amazing. Service is good. Love the outside space. Amazing view.
G. C.
What a fantastic place! Great service, amazing food and a really good price! A chance for a lovely walk afterwards to counter the food you've just eaten!
D. O. S. W.
Had a lovely seafood platter which I enjoyed very much. The restaurant is sitting on the shore with a small fishing pier. Lovely location
A. M.
Lovely spot, good food...I'd say it would be fab to sit outside on a sunny day...water was amazing swirling and moving in all different directions!!
A. M.

P. B.
Great food 😋 service first class at all levels can't wait to go back.

If what you are looking for is sea fresh seafood then this the place for you and at very reasonable prices... Go for the Fishermans platter, or local Burren Lamb, you won't be disappointed. Lovely friendly staff too.
H. E.
Premium seafood taste and worth the drive. The scallop risotto is my favourite dish.

A. R.
Good sea food menu, lovely views. Not the cheapest place, but you will enjoy your meal.
M. G.
The best seafood restaurant in the most beautiful setting. Great Guinness on tap and views of the Atlantic.
A. S.
Absolutely fantastic. The food, enjoyed by a party of six of us, was exquisite, as always - e blasta (appetising), dea-choirithe (beautifully prepared) agus an cur I lathair (presentation) den chead-scoth (excellent). An smear mhullaigh (to cap it all) the personable nature of the marvellous Sorcha Ni Mhaille, who served us our meals was exceptional. Labhair si Gaeilge linn at feadh an ama ( she spoke Irish to us throughout), which was wonderful for us, as that is the language of preference of the group, and was equally exceptional in her waiting duties. What a brilliant ambassador she is for Linnane's. Go raibh mile maith agat, a Shorcha and thank you too, Linnane's - Re O Laighleis (Baile Ui Bheachain / Ballyvaughan)
S. C.

M. W.
A rare treat after a hearty walk on the Flaggy Shore, Linanne's is a gem on the West coast, the Wild Atlantic Way. A quick chowder or a shared seafood platter for two - with warm freshly baked brown bread, all eaten whilst watching the fishing boats on the pier 50 metres away.
F. O.
Friendly atmosphere, view over the little port and the bay. Really fresh and well prepared seafood. What a gem!
S. (.

Simple, fresh and local seafood great stop when road tripping. There is a sweater shop on the main road nearby which has nice Aran sweaters, nicer than what you get in the Aran sweater market.

Wake me in South Galway, or better yet
In Clare. You'll know the pub I have in mind.
Improvise a hearse—one of those decrepit
Postal vans would suit me down to the ground—
A rust-addled Renault, Kelly green with a splash
Of Oscar Wilde yellow stirred in to clash
With the dazzling perfect meadows and limestone
On the coast road from Kinvara down toward Ballyvaughan.
Once you've got in off the road at Newquay
Push aside some barstools and situate me
Up in front by the door where the musicians sit,
Their table crowded with pints and a blue teapot,
A pouch of Drum, some rolling papers and tin
Whistles. Ask Charlie Piggott to play a tune
That sounds like loss and Guinness, turf smoke and rain,
While Brenda dips in among the punters like a hedge-wren.
Will I hear it? Maybe not. But I hear it now.
The smoke of the music fills my nostrils, I feel the attuned
Box and fiddle in harness, pulling the plough
Of the melody, turning the bog-dark, root-tangled ground.
Even the ceramic collie on the windowsill
Cocks an ear as the tune lifts and the taut sail
Of the Galway hooker trills wildly in its frame on the wall,
Rippling to the salt pulse and seabreeze of a West Clare reel.
Many a night, two octaves of one tune,
We sat here side by side, your body awake
To a jig or slide, me mending the drift of a line
As the music found a path to my notebook.
Lost in its lilt and plunge I would disappear
Into the heathery freedom of a slow air
Or walk out under the powerful stars to clear
My head of thought and breathe their cooled-down fire.
When my own session ends, let me leave like that,
Porous to the wind that blows off the ocean.
Goodbye to the company and step into the night
Completed and one-off, like a well-played tune—
Beyond the purified essence of hearth fires
Rising from the life of the parish, past smoke and stars,
Released from everything I've done and known.
I won't go willingly, it's true, but I'll be gone.
(Wake Me in South Galway - RICHARD TILLINGHAST)
