Cozy spot for lunch. Good service, good food. The usual in terms of available beverages. Very large, so should usually have seating available.

One of the best steaks I've had, top quality food with quality service. From starters to mains the service was quick. Even do our waiter was under pressure serving a few tables he was very nice and accommodating. Was here over 2 years ago and it was as good as I remembered.

Very nice restaurant. We showed up during prime hours without reservations and they found seating for us. We had to wait in the small bar for 15 minutes and the bar tender was very attentive while busy. The atmosphere is very nice and the menu even better. It may be a little pricely but no unreasonable. Good wine available for pairings.

We arrived about 6:30pm on a Friday on recommendation from a friend and the place wasn’t that busy. It’s a huge restaurant, and the many rooms make it seem like a maze. The staff were polite and professional. The only thing that lets this place down is the prices. It cost us €110 for 3 mains, 3 desserts, 3 drinks and a tea. However, the food lived up to its price and was simply amazing. I had the Indian Tikka Masala and it was bursting with flavour. For dessert, I recommend the chocolate fondant. Overall, a place not to be missed if you’re looking for some quality food in the Galway area.

Outstanding food and service. If you're looking for good food this is definitely the place to come. We had a variety of dishes: pork, chicken and fish and they were all beautifully cooked. As a started I'd definitely recommend the provolone chicken! Amazing experience!!!!!

Entertainment tonight was a guitar player that had a very nice voice, the bartender was awesome and gave me very good whiskey recommendation. Place looks cool and has a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend checking this place out.

From the outside it looks like a small pub but inside there is a restaurant and a pub. For the restaurant I can say it is a very nice and cosy atmosphere. The food is very delicious and the waitress are very friendly. One of the waitresses had a small accident so the Irish coffee got mixed, he apologized for it and brought a new unmixed one, that was looking like it was taken from a textbook.

I wish Google maps had smell-o-vision. This was a beautiful and fragrant cocktail called the Pornstar Martini. If you're into fruity drinks, don't be shy! It is one of the best cocktails I have ever tasted. And food was incredible.

A small step from Eyre Square. Nice bar with friendly staff. The food menu is very popular and rightly so. I've only been twice but each time I was impressed by the quality of the bar food. The quantities are good as well. I haven't tried the restaurant, - maybe next time.

Our lovely waitress despite being run off her feet made sure to check on us regularly and took the time to find out the answers to any questions we had. Love going to this restaurant. Ive used to it for family dinners but also for large corporate groups on vacations or for business. Actual restaurant itself is so charming, plenty of space so you never feel like you have an audience when eating. I've been going to this restaurant for over 15 years now. The food is consistently amazing and always leaves us very satisfied and definately not wanting for any more. Portions are decent and the food is always cooked to perfection. Chowder is a must here! I like the restaurant and the pub, too. I've been there so many times that I lost the count. They changed the menu till last time but not that much. Their meat is really good, last time I had one steak with pepper source and was delicious. My wife got a salmon and she was delighted. We had a small problem with the desert and took it off the bill, I think this is the right way to manage issues with customers. I'll be back for sure. BTW: restaurant is separated from pub so kids are always welcome, they have kids menu.

There are so many nooks and rooms it all seems much bigger on the inside and stunningly beautiful too. Prices aren't the lowest but for the quality of the place and the food (absolutely delicious!), they're perfectly reasonable.

Only negative is I don't think it was really baby friendly but we didn't realise till we were already there with our 4 month old. Loved our night at McSwiggans. I had 5 in party. Teo were vegetarian and they had what they described as a wonderful meal. I had the most amazingly cooked fillet steak. Really nice restaurant in centre of Galway city. Really like McSwiggans. Our 'first date' spot in Galway many years ago and go back regularly for lunch and dinner. Menu for adults and kids is great. Seafood coquille mornay, Cod and the chicken satay were deserved delicious today by adults in our group (see cleared plates). Prices are reasonable so given quality are good value. Recommended to book as always busy. (But plenty of small private areas so never feels crowded). Will be back in 2019.

We always visit McSwiggans whenever we travel to Galway. The restaurant is in a beautiful old stone building with many nooks and crannies to explore. The food is really tasty and they have plenty of vegan options; our favourites being the thai green curry and the stir fry.

If anyone asks me where to visit for food in Galway or wants me to take them out to dinner then McSwiggan's is my number one choice. The only negative thing I would say about this place is it's extremely popular and has won several awards so book a table if you don't want to wait a long time. The downstairs is a lovely little bar that has a large area out the book for seating and bar functions, friendly staff and plenty of tables. Upstairs is a beautiful restaurant stretched across several floors that is a lot bigger than the building looks like it can hold. The food is absolutely gorgeous although definitely on the expensive side and it's one of the best steak dinners you can get in Galway but with a huge amount of choice for everyone and anyone on the menu. To go with the high price you get amazing food, beautiful surrounding and some of the most lovely staff ever who recognize and greet you on repeat visits which is lovely for such a beautiful restaurant. Love McSwiggans! I love the style, the atmosphere and of course the staff are super nice and friendly. There is one thing that bothers me though and it is that McSwiggans doesn't have any alternative milk. I'm vegan and I couldn't even have tea with soy milk. I think they need to change this as society itself is changing and if they don't they'll just fall behind. I mean soy milk is so cheap and has a longer shelf life than cow milk. It shouldn't be a problem for every bar/restaurant to have it in stock. I opted for herbal tea instead which was still great!
