Reviews of O'Donohues Pub
Drooool! Honestly melt in your mouth. Lovely roadside stop after a fanore beach trip. Sat on the wall across the road as it was when restrictions were in place. It certainly filled a spot.
Had the veg burger and chips for €10. Well worth it. The chips were amazing and the burger was very tasty. The staff are very honest, efficient and even during covid times everything was served with ease. Very clean pub and toilets. Can't wait to revisit.
The most incredible find! The food and the pints were immaculate. The chips were especially delicious. Very friendly staff! Couldn't recommend this place more
Outside only dining was a blessing in disguise with O'Donohues pub because we ended up having our absolutely divine fish and chips looking out over the sea at the mountains of Connemara. The host Pat and his staff could not have been better going out of their way to get tables for everyone while following all the regulations. Will definitely be back again
This pub was one of the most beautiful on our Ireland tour. Everything was perfect here. Here the tourist is welcome as a person - and not only as an economic factor. The food is excellent. The live music was by far the best we experienced in Irish pubs. It was touching when a local sang traditional songs.
Thanks for the 3 beautiful evenings
Andreas
Decent pub fare and good, standard drinks. Service not terribly friendly but it suffices. The beef and Guinness stew had very tender beef.
One of the favorite bars we visited in Ireland. Great friendly staff and amazing atmosphere. Their pub food is great. We enjoyed just sitting, eating and listening!
Best crab claws and added mushy peas I ever had.
Staff and locals very friendly.
Great night.
"I' ll be back".
Great fish and chips. Great music. Friendly staff. Tiny town on the coast. In short, everything you'd want on a trip to Ireland.
The best Irish traditional pub! Food is delicious, live music on weekends and friendly staff.
Great fish and chips, great staff and service. Portion sizes are generous 5* for me
Great place with friendly staff. Seafood platter was generous for two.
Very nice authentic pub with great food for dinner and sometimes traditional live music.
The fish and chips in particular, is very nice
Fantastic food as always, great friendly owner and staff, brilliant views across Galway Bay and beyond, a must stop if you're passing by
Friendly service, fast turnaround and most importantly tasty food with portion size more than we could manage
Best pub food and Guinness I've had in a long time
Amazing seafood chowder and vegetable soup and the pint is poured with great care.. worth the stop and avoid the crowds of Doolin and other tour stops
Straight up great place. I have a rowdy bunch of kids. So managing them is tough, but being able to grab the first place on the beach to eat is very convenient, and not only was the staff friendly and welcoming but they put up with the resulting mess and the noise from our pack of beach rats. Lets not forget the food though. The reason I came, is I had good local sources tell me that the food is great; they did not disappoint. So with all that and the awesome seafood what could I really complain about. On top of it the prices were very reasonable for the food we ate. One of the greatest places we ate on our trip to Ireland. If I go back, I will simply visit just to see how things are.
We were looking for a bite to eat and a pint to drink. Patrick opened up the pub when he saw us in the parking lot. Great pub, best in Ireland. The seafood chowder was the best. Patrick was a great host. Can't wait to stop there the next time we're in Ireland
Everybody was incredibly welcoming and the food very tasty ! The owner even offered to put our tent in his field for the night. Really nice 👍
One of the most memorable days in my life...the peat fire, the tall tales; and the wonderful company was topped off by the parade of tractors pulling the local St Patrick's Day parade...nothing will ever compare!
Excellent fish and chips! Well done guys.. 👏
Beautiful atlantic view and very friendly service - worth a visit when driving the Wild Atlantic Way.
Lovely young staff, great athmosphere and super food and drinks! A pleasure to visit.
It was great to have two lovely creamy pints outside O'Donohues. The place is lovely and also the staff, I will be back 😀
Was there in 2012, great pub, food and atmosphere. Hope to get back again.
As authentically local as you can get. You’ll get plenty of crack here!
O’s was the first pub we stopped at after arriving at Shannon and ended up having the best meal during our two week stay on the island with a memory that will last forever. I decided to not get cash at the airport and made the wrong assumption that I’d pop into an ATM for cash later in the day, uh, mistake. Found out after wolfing an amazing seafood platter with the best raw oysters I’ve ever tasted and having my first real Guinness while taking in an amazing view that O’s only accepted cash. I started wondering if I might have to spend a bit of time in an Irish jail when the owner told me no worries and to just drop the money in the mail. As promised I mailed a 50€ note later in the trip.
Excellent place to have good bites to eat. Limited menu, but will suit all pallette, with choices of great soups and dishes. Good desserts too. Full selection of wines and beers.
There is a great atmosphere in the pub setting and also there are 2 other main halls for family eats. Great service, great place to be. Must stop over near the western coastal cliffs in Ireland.
A group of us (14 people) came here for dinner. The waitress had a quick and easy way of taking our order. It was very quick and efficient compared to other restaurants we ate at. Mostly everyone ordered mussels and fish and chips. Each meal ordered was very fresh and delicious.
Great pub and wonderful people! Didn't get to eat, but Pat was so friendly and suggested a bunch of Irish whiskeys we hadn't tried before. Also the Guinness pour was really the best I've ever had. Highly recommend and make sure you talk to strangers and make friends
Fabulous fish snd chips, great pibt, and what a view. Well worth a stop
The Boss himself served our hungry family (after kitchen was closed) soups whit brown bread. The best vegetable soups ever!
Thank you very much for this great service.
Fantastic place in a gorgeous little town! So glad we were recommended to go here down the street from our Airbnb! Pat the owner is a super friendly, great guy! So cool to know that he is the 5th generation to this business and takes pride chatting to his customers and making fresh food! We had the fish and chips, the burger, and the goats cheese melt! Yum!!!! Our server was lovely too! We so hope to come back to this gem on our next journey to Ireland! :)
Brilliant pub and staff who were really helpful and made up a table to get us a space.
The fish and chips are unbelievably good.
Great food and friendly staff..
Can't wait till its open fully..
Friendly pub with good burger and fish & chips. Somehow beer tastes better when the atmosphere is right. And at this place it is right. Beautiful views over the ocean towards Arran Islands. We won't hesitate to call again on this welcoming place.
The garlic buttered prawns were life changing. Utterly amazing.
A great place to enjoy the best fish and chips in Ireland, thin and crispy batter on a thick piece of amazingly fresh cod, away from the tourist hub of Doolin and overlooking the ocean. Leonard gave great advice on both food and drinks.
Fish and chips were good. Basic food basic service. However everyone was happy for the meal here. We left better than we went in.
The fish was so delicious, staff very friendly and helpful
Best fish n chip a round
Seafood chowder was fantastic, excellent burgers and chips. Very friendly. Charming place in a beautiful setting. I loved this place.
great team, lovely service and food.
Friendly and hospitable, this pub was a welcomed stop during some horrendous weather on the Burren Way. We enjoyed the veggie soup and the seafood chowder. Both were tasty.
Met the greatest people while visiting. Also had the best food. Cant wait to return.
The food here is top Notch and also the service. Amazing location too. Will definitely be back.
Great food and drink with alot of caricature 👌
Probably the pub with the best view in Ireland. A well placed Pub, in the perfect spot for a respite from the weather and to grab a pint or food after a day of sightseeing!
Delicious fish&chips. And fast service.
great memories in a great old irish pub....will return one day
best fish & chips in ages. Great pub, clean toilets friendly staff. Will visit soon again
Very busy bar, as there are no other options in Fanore. Average food and pricy. The atmosphere was really local, though. That was much appreciated.
Best fish and chips ever! Quintessential local Irish haunt. Loved it.
great food friendly clean and a good pint..great view as well.
Best fish dish ever!
Nice place, very cozy, decent soup! Thank you very much, that was just what we needed, whilst walking the Wild Atlantic!
Great service, friendly staff and fabulous food.Lovely location with great views onto the Atlantic ocean and close to the amazing fanore beach which is perfect quiet beach for families.

Great food and good pints. Staff are helpful.
Lovely pub and the seafood chowder was great. Friendly chatty staff as well.
Good snack of crab claws and brown bread. Very tasty. And of course....good Guinness.
Good beer, good food. Add that to the beautiful, rugged West Coast.... and what's not to like?
Great atmosphere. Lovely family run pub with great food.
Great, and nice looking forward to come back.

A quiet spot for some lunch; a brief respite from the Irish weather; a warm welcome.
Gorgeous food. Beautiful views. Helpful staff.
Went in for one drink, ended up having two and one for the ditch. Make sure to ask Patrick or john the story of the burren croc.

Nice place for a stop off
If you are in the Cliff of Moher area and visit Fanore beach, it is worth stopping for lunch before tackling long walks. This simple but refined pub offers excellent Irish dishes, such as fish and chips, Guinness stews and fish dishes. Friendly staff. You can eat outside, there is plenty of space to park and the view of the sea is beautiful.
The mussels and Irish stew are delicious. Unfortunately we felt we didn't choose the house fish and chips, which everyone got and looked delicious. Live music and lots of locals. Good beers and nice view! Recommendation to be preferred to the tourist pubs in Doolin.
Great location, live music, delicious food 👍🏻
(Translated) Very good lunch. We were made very welcome and served despite our late arrival time. Excellent Fish & Chips!
(Original)
Très bon déjeuner. Nous avons été très bien accueilli et servi malgré notre heure tardive d'arrivée. Fish & Chips excellent !
An Irish pub as it should be. With an impressive collection of photos of local traditional musicians on the wall. And the ideal place to enjoy a late afternoon snack.
The best Irish coffee in Ireland. Also seafood
Is excellent. The front part of the pub is very cozy.
Smiling and dynamic welcome. Excellent dishes served even in the middle of the afternoon. Not to be missed...
Very nice pub, the Guiness beef is very tender and the fish and ship's is comforting after a rainy day.
I recommend the seafood chowder, accompanied by delicious bread, everything comforts you after the pouring rain of the cliffs of Moher, without forgetting the kindness of the owner
A real country Irish pub with beer, whiskey, shellfish and fish and chips. On Fridays there are community gatherings with songs and dances. Prices are the same as everywhere else
Simple, friendly and authentic. Good value for money and not much around anyway...
Very nice and helpful boss, the food is very good but a bit overpriced
Good food and a fantastic view. Very friendly staff.
Very nice staff 😊
First class fish and chips. And a nice place for a hunger break.
