I can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s very clearly authentic Sicilian food- the owner is kind and goes out of his way to ensure you’re happy with your meal / are getting what you expected. We were all happy! If I’m ever in Galway again, this place will surely be a must.

Vito was so accommodating when I called to ask if they’re seating folks in person! He took my order in advance, accommodated my dietary restrictions (his whole family eats gluten free), and then was a generous and talkative as i enjoyed my dinner in his restaurant. Last time I had arancini this good was in Antica Focacceria di San Francesco in Palermo. Perfect balance between rice and filling, eggplants cooked as if I were in Sicily, great customer service, lovely, cozy ambience, definitely a must visit if you want to have a good meal when in Galway.

U Liotru is a friendly, casual restaurant nestled in cozy lane just off the main shopping street in Galway. If you are an fan of classic Sicilian food, desserts and wine, then this is the place for you. Come for the arancini but stay for the friendly staff and delicious desserts and coffee. Before you leave make sure you take a look a the various Sicilian foods for sale, including incredible honey, preserves, olive oil, and of course, wine by the bottle.

Lovely Place pistacchio cannoli are fabulous, never eaten something so nice same with the pistachio cake it's so lovely, will definitely come back when I'm in Galway. Authentic Mouth-watering Sicilian food. I bumped into this place by accident and stopped to have one arancino with pistachio. Because I love pistachio. And Siciliy is all about pistachio! I came here again to have lasagne with pistachio and the pistachio cake. Super delicious too!! The atmosphere is very cosy and the owner from Catania is very friendly. Highly recommended (to everyone, not only pistachio lovers ;)) 😋👌

We came upon this place just after arrival to the city centre. We went in for welcome coffee and canoli which were so delicious that we came back for lunch. The food is delicious and unique in Galway. Traditional Scilian starters, mains and desserts are reasonably priced and served with a smile by the owner and staff. It was an all round good experience. You can have a beer too, which was great and clearly it is a popular place, so much so that some of the dishes we had drooled over in the morning had run out by the time we got back in the late afternoon.

My husband and I had spotted this restaurant while on our way through Galway and he was just telling me previously that he was missing his traditional food from home (he is Sicilian) so we popped in for an arancini and espresso. The whole interior was very beautiful, there was products from Italy on shelves and it had a very cosy feeling to it. We were speaking with the owner of the restaurant and he was so charming and we chatted and laughed and he talked us through all the different flavoured arancini he had to offer. We were so pleased that we had gone in for one as they were absolutely delicious, my husband was contented as they were exactly like he would get at home in sicily. There was a lot more we wanted to try but we were full. We're both very much looking forward to returning and enjoying some more of the dishes in the future.

The authentic taste of the Sicily. We ate here yesterday and it brought back so many memories of our trip travelling around Catania in 2018. Vito the chef is such a lovely man with a real love for cuisine and he shows his love for his home by expressing it in his delicious food. We enjoyed Arancini with aubergine and then had Lasagne with pancetta and pistachio with a glass of wine. My mouth is watering just thinking about the taste. Definately go to this restaurant if your in galway and bring your friends because it will not disappoint. Oh and we had some delicious limoncello to finish off; all I can say is wow! A delight for the tastebuds. I'll be back soon

Great restaurant / cafe. You can go in for a quick delicious cannoli and coffee, but also get awesome lasagna for dinner with a nice bottle of wine. There is not many tables and the place is usually busy so you better book in advance if you are looking to get dinner. Everything is cooked by Italians and it tastes as in Italy. From the arancini to the cassata cake. Price is very competitive considering location and quality. Dinner for 2 with bottle of wine between €40/50. Definetly coming back.

Simply unmissable! Myself and my partner wandered into what is possibly Ireland’s best Italian café and pastry store. We were welcomed with warm greetings, and were guided through the many pastry’s. In particular the owner went above and beyond in preparing a gluten free option, which was utterly divine (canolo). As well as the Tiramisú, which my partner had. Would highly recommend a visit if youre in the Galway area, you wont be dissapointed.

I went to this restaurant for lunch with some friends and I must say that as soon as I entered I forgot I was in Ireland. After 3 years of living here it was wonderful to sit and eat delicious Italian food while listening to Italian music. The owner, Vito, and his family were very kind and friendly but professional at the same time. I recommend everyone to come in and savor a piece of Sicily in the heart of Galway.

Run by Italians, I was able to enjoy two wonderful Sicilian arancini and a coca cola in the heat, all combined with a few chats with the owners. Very good and very Italian!

I tend to avoid these types of places abroad because they are usually rip-offs. Yet it strangely intrigued me and so, as a Sicilian, I wanted to bet on the cannoli. Well...excellent! The wafer was a surprise, really well made. The cream is excellent (in Sicily it is a little sweeter) and the chopped pistachios are truly remarkable. Compliments!
