A. A.The Duck took off, spread its wings and delivered. What an exquisit dining experience. The holy trinity of fine dining: taste, service and ambiance - all were boxes were checked with max points. The prawns for starters were among the best I've had in 4 years in Ireland and same goes for the duck leg. Oh and did I mention they serve great coffee as well. Not to mention the super courteous and welcoming staff. Wish Google allowed me six stars once a month, I would apply it here!

Fantastic selection of starters and mains cooked to perfection and reasonably priced. Well worth the wait and hope to return soon. Compliments to the staff also.

Very well thought out menus, all the food was absolutely gorgeous. A vast menu with lots to choose from. The staff were all lovely and approachable.
They also have one area - kind of on its own - so would defo be good for a large group you could put loads of tables together.
They also have a real fire down the back of the restaurant with beautiful views of the landscaped gardens so a real treat no matter the weather!
J. K.Great but lunch for two was expensive. Normally it is a starter and main for 27 euro, but there are extras(most are 10to15euros above the 27) for certain dishes. So with just 2 drinks ordered(around 10 to 14euros each) at grand total of 90 is easy to hit. Just for two people.

P. R.Duck Terrace Restaurant & Café is a delicious bistro restaurant, part of Marfield Country house hotel open to non residents. Loved the food which included the Duck salad, Prawn and Chorizo Pil Pil for starters and for the mains the fresh fish of the day which was Bream with crab claws and I had the juicy Lava Grilled Wexford 10oz Rib Eye with Portobello mushroom, chips and béarnaise sauce which was super tender and full of flavour.
The restaurant is in a long stone building with French doors opening onto a sandstone terrace overlooking the kitchen garden which is beautiful on a sunny day, especially if you sit outside at lunch time! Great to eat here if visiting the area or staying in the hotel.

a. m. k.Lovely place. The staff were friendly but everything seemed to happen slowly. It was lunchtime on a sunny Saturday so was busy. It was expensive for what we got . I got some doughnuts to take home but they were not as nice as when I had them previously.

R. R.Beautiful restaurant friendly staff. Posh bistro menu and a good wine list. At our table we ordered the seafood and dips sharing platters which were fine and duck salad which was very tasty. For mains we tried tempura, fish special and ravioli. The specials were very tasty, the tempura was good however the ravioli was a bit disappointing. Overall a good experience and booking in advance is recommended.

The waiting times can be very long so bring good conversation, and make sure to check your bill over as they overcharged us and they were the ones to notice after the fact and got into contact with us. Nice cocktails too!

K. k. k.On Wednesday the 21st February my wife and I called into the Duck Restaurant for a meal at 4.45pm . We were very hungry , and it was a very cold day . What a Joy ! . On entering the restaurant we were met by a very efficient manager who told us his name was Greg . He was very friendly , confident , and competent . Put us to a table here the fire, as he observer we were cold. We had soup to start & I had the seafood chowder, which was the best I ever had . ( and I sampled many ) . Also the soup my wife had was excellent. Hot & accompanied with excellent home baked breads. This was followed by Hake , and Rib Eyed steak for myself .Both were excellent accompanied by vegetables fresh , and hot. Coffee was to follow , and was excellent . The service was nothing but 100% . Professional , warm & friendly. . And the bill for this great meal with a large bottle of Sparking water was 64 euros . Brilliant food , at a very reasonable price . And service that was excellent & professional . Well done Greg . Our return drive to Meath was a pleasure having enjoyed such a excellent meal . Will return again . Tom & Kay.

l. b. t.Had another wonderful meal there last week. We missed the lovely Lily who was off duty but were very well looked after by Greg and David. They were most helpfu to my disabled husband and made sure he was settled at our table. Very pleasant drink in the bar first. Excellent service. We shared a seafood platter to start with which was delicious. My husband had the special, seabass and I can hardly ever resist the monkfish there. Both were lovely. We enjoyed an excelent bottle of Rioja. Great from beginning to end and would recommend a visit.

Food is of a very high standard with a focus on the best of locally produced seasonal produce. Service is of a very high standard with a lovely balance of friendliness and efficiency.

T. h.I'm not really sure what's going on here but this is the second time this has happened me in different restaurants when I go to pay my bill I've got in the previous bill and I don't normally check but this time I did and found there was a different menu altogether so when I pulled the waiter he was happy to check and give me the proper bill which was a lot less than what he was looking for in the beginning I found the ambience of the place beautiful and would go back under certain degree of caution

J. T.Lovely restored building, excellent staff....attentive but not 'over the top'!. For starters, I had the smoked chicken caeser salad, hubby had chowder,both delicious. Hubby had haddock tempura which had a lovely light batter and good chips, I had bean tagine and flatbread which was nice, like a bowl of ratatouille! Latte coffee, lovely and hot, americano was a bit cool for me, but asked for some steamed milk which arrived quickly and solved the problem! Had the pre - theatre dinner which combined our dinner with a voucher for the play in gorey little theatre for €33. Good value. ☺
