Great service, excellent food. For appetizers we got seafood chowder, carrot soup, duck spring rolls, and mushroom ravioli. My favorite was the duck spring rolls, crispy in the outside tender on the inside. I had the seabass for dinner which was also delicious, and the lamb shank was a favorite among our group. They are taking strong covid protocols since the tables directly next to us were blocked off for social distancing. The only downside is the restaurant is up a flight of stairs, so not very accessibility friendly.

Fantastic atmosphere inside the restaurant – I’m glad our taxi driver recommended them! The attention to detail when setting up the place is really clear. It’s very welcoming, cozy and comfortable. I thought the music choice really suited the restaurant too. I ordered the wings and their sweet potato fries and the wings were tender, packed with umami, moise and cooked well. The sweet potato fried were all consistently crispy and just had the perfect amount of salt. One of the guests next door ordered a curry-based dish and it smelled mouthwateringly delicious. All of the waiting staff were super attentive and they really made sure that our dining experience was an excellent one. In summary, Murphy Brownes equals skilled chefs, professional waiters, superb food, convenient location, great value for money and fantastic atmosphere. I only have positive things to say about Murphy Brownes. I strongly recommend them!

I ordered steak to be cooked medium to well done. It was pink when I cut it & although it was ok to eat, it lacked flavor. The bill for 8 of us was hand written & not from the till. - wonder why ? The staff were friendly & helpful & overall the food was good . The chairs my wife I had were swivel type chairs - not the most comfortable.

Me and my companions highly recommend this restaurant. We made no reservations and we still got a table for four people at 18:30. Now to the most important thing, the food and the service. Both were really good, especially the food. The quality was very high and it was not to pricey. So all in all, come here.

Lovely Evening, my husband and I are honeymooning in Ireland and wanted something a little different than our previous few evenings. Murphy Browne’s was just perfect. Our server River was knowledgeable and attentive, offering thoughtful advice and consul. For starters we shared the duck spring rolls and he had the butternut squash and ginger soup - both very nice. But our main courses blew us away. My sea bass was cooked perfectly and the citrus cream sauce, spinach and potatoes complimented everything. His roast duck was the best he’s ever had. The skin was crisp, and the meat juicy and rich, balanced with a lovely cherry/berry sauce. We finished with the chocolate cake and strawberry marshmallow cheesecake (knowing we wouldn’t finish them). Highly, highly recommend. Very reasonably priced, and service was attentive without being rushed.

Visited this week and we were all very happy with the meal. Pros: Nice staff Beautiful decor Comfortable booth Good menu Excellent food Cons: Nothing in particular on offer for kids, no menu or colouring pages or anything. But they were very welcoming and kind to the children I had two starters instead of a starter and main. I had the duck spring rolls, spiced and tasty, though the side salad had loads of diced cucumber, grand if you like it but yuck for me!. Also had the mussels - delicious. Husband had the goats cheese tartlet, it was gorgeous. Mild but flavoursome and served warm. And a buttermilk chicken. Kids shared ours and also had a portion of chips (oh my god the chips... I don't know what they did to them but they were super good) and they were kind enough to also make a portion of garlic bread that I spied on the menu as part of another main course. Kids had ice cream for dessert, I had a slice of yummy Lemons curd cheesecake and husband had chocolate brownie. We came out full and very happy!

Lovely ambiance, food good. My downside is that they don't have a kids menu, they can make half portions of three mains, but that's it. Neither of my kids would eat these options. We did get sorted, however our server was on the young side and whenever I asked about something I got vague answers, they never even went to check. Would I go back if in Killarney again.....maybe!

Ate here 2 weeks ago with 3 others. No complaints from our table! Had the goats cheese for starter and the lamb shank for main, shank was very tender, tasted delicious. The others all had steak cooked to various likings, all looked very good and service was prompt on what was a busy Friday night. Booking in advance advisable. Highly recommended.

A fantastic restaurant ate there twice in the last month. Had a great rib eye steak cooked to perfection. Had the duck also another night which was very lean and crispy. Absolutely delicious and well worth a visit.

Our B&B host Maggie from Maggie O's recommended Murphy Brownes and we could not have been happier. My wife and I were on our honeymoon and this was by far one of the best restaurants we ate at during our 10 day Ireland honeymoon trip. Yes, I am the typically American who loves steak and their's was amazing! The wine list was great and dessert too. For being opened at little more than a year, they know what they are doing.

My wife and I really found a gem when we stumbled upon Murphy Brownes on high street in Killarney. We heard from exiting guests that their fish and chips were incredible, so we ordered that along with their cowder. The beer battered fish and chips were fantastic. The fish was both hearty and tasty and the fried batter to actual meat ratio was perfect. The tarter sauce had a great tarter flavor that enhanced the fish without overtaking it. The chips were rather standard, but they were warm and fresh so I couldn't ask for much more there. The plate also came with a lovely salad that provided a medley of flavors. There was a spice to it with peppers and arugula, a refreshing taste from cucumber and tomato, and then a sweet taste from what I believe was a little mango. All the flavors came together beautifully to form a delicious side salad. The descriptions of their main dish salads sounded wonderful so if you're looking for a good salad be sure to stop in there. The chowder was also great. I generally prefer thick, chunky chowder. This one had more cream than I'd usually like but they made it work with a good amount of fresh local fish in there and the cream base had such a compelling flavor to it that I found myself eating the whole thing faster than I'd intended. The staff was all friendly and helpful. The actual restaurant itself was very fancy, with a great mixture of rustic and fancy. One small detail that I appreciated: real candles. Many restaurants are transitioning to the safer, more cost effective electronic candles but they just aren't quite the same. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a great meal in Killarney.

Arranged a surprise meal for friends last Friday night. Met by Deirdre (co-owner) who was in on the surprise & helped to pull it off. Aoife & Kuba the waiting staff were brilliant to us all night. We only had mains & dessert & everything was done to each person's liking. I can't recommend Murphy Brownes enough to anybody looking to have a lovely time in a very relaxed setting. Killarney's best restaurant by far.
