This restaurant serves excellent food. The Seafood chowder is really excellent and nicely presented. It offers many fish & chips with several kinds of fish. They are excellent. Appetizing, crispy and the fish are as firm as they are tender. It is cooked to perfection. The prices are really correct. When you are seated in front of the cooks bar, you are treated to two screens: one presenting the region and the other the making of the food, from the fishing to our plates. A real pleasure. The only negative point: the coffee is terrible. And yet it is with a real Italian machine that they are made. There is a big adjustment problem ...

Nice sea foods. Book in advance cause to busy. Try the fresh portmagee crab claws and Dingle bay wild squid. Normally these two menus are running out mostly. Last time while I ordered they failed to provide it to me. Located in the heart of the city center and toilet available.

Nice fish restaurant with a small Menü but the fish is absolutely fresh and of top quality. The fries are superb and worth to be ordered as single dish. The portions are pretty hughe, a normal eater won't be able to finish the plate totally. If you're into in having a yummy dish of fish that makes you smile this is the place to go. I wish there were a greasy spoon like this in my home town.

Insider secret to the best thing to order, ask for the prawns but in their garlic butter sauce, SO DELICIOUS! Their fish and chips are killer as well. Super fresh food, nice staff and very clean restaurant. It is small so there may be a wait depending on how busy they are. Definitely a great place to eat.

We got there around 6:30pm before the crowd. Waited only for about 5 minutes for seating. It appears they don't give each table for a designated waiter/waitress. The waiter used a tablet to take our orders. Food cam in about 10 minutes. I had the 🦀 crawls and my spouse had fan fried salmon. And we had onion rings. The 🦀 crawls were fabulous. There were 10 crawls there cooked with garlic and butter oil. My spouse liked her salmon and salad was fresh. And the onion rings were crunchy. I also had a soda. The whole meal for two was only £40 plus tips. Price is extremely reasonable. I will stay at Killarney for 3 nights. I will stop by and try out the fish and chips which looks good to me as well.

Lovely seafood and service. Nice interior, modern touch. Unfortunately, no alcohol is served BUT a pint would be nice too! Definitely recommend if you’re heading for a spot of lunch. Take away option is on spot. Very central and a huge car park is five minutes walk away.

Quite pricey considering it's a very casual place, but portions are big and we left satisfied. The squid is local and fried to a perfect crisp tenderness. We also had pan fried lemon sole, which was the daily special.

We came here for dinner one night during our stay in Killarney. We started with a couple of seafood chowders which I thought was pretty good. It's served with a good brown bread. For my main dish, I got fish and chips with hake, but I substituted onion rings for the chips. I really enjoyed my meal. My parents said the chips weren't very good. My husband got the crab claws and loved them. It's a very small restaurant and it was pretty busy when we were there, but we didn't have to wait to be seated. We had good service as well. If you're looking for good seafood at a reasonable price, this is a good place to stop.

Mixed feelings about the food. The cod and haddock and chips were so-so, didn't taste as fresh as hoped. The fried squid was very fresh but the batter was slightly too light so it didn't taste crispy nor satisfying. The Atlantic prawns were excellent, full of flavour. Overall our party agreed that the batter being used on the fish and prawns were under seasoned. I personally think it would be better if their mains included mushy peas as standard and not an extra, otherwise you feel kind of nasty eating that much yellow food (fried fish and fried potatoes) on one plate! The prices are high for what you get so I would say this is not a value for money place, and I still maintain that the best fish and chips are from local chippys rather than restaurants like this. Bit offended by the notice that every person must order one main meal minimum at "peak times". They also don't advertise when the peak times are. This shows a profit centric attitude rather than a customer centric one, which is disappointing.

Quality seafood and responsive service but they fry their fish on too low of a heat with a thick breading, causing a fry that's soaked in grease (thereby losing the crunch). The seafood was high quality too but the place is busy so the staff doesn't really allow you to savor your meal at all. As soon as your done eating they're giving you your check and it's a little stressful.

Fantastic fish and chips with friendly and prompt service. There is a wide variety of fish to choose from and there are several other menu options as well. This is a small restaurant, so expect to be seated close to other groups. The bathroom/WC is upstairs, so bear that in mind if that could cause a problem.

So fresh! So delicious! Had the seafood chowder, which was full of big chunks of fish, and the Dingle Bay squid, which might have been the best squid I’ve ever had. Tender, juicy, and very lightly breaded. Cannot recommend it enough!

I gave it 4 stars in "fish and chips" shop category. Portions are big and prices are ok. My favourite always Dingle Bay Wild Squids, Traditional beer battered Wild Cod and Valentia Harbour Chowder. It would be great if more pickles in the tartar sauce. I like the fish and the squid as it coated in a very thin batter. I love the lobster as well but it's a seasonal menu, not sure they still have it. P/S: If you're living locally, I suggest you to buy your fresh seafood/frozen seafood from them because it is really fresh if you compare to big supermarket. Big supermarkets bought in bulk purchase and this will take some time to sell all, makes the stocks losing its quality during freezing or thawing. UPDATED ON 29/07/20. I just realised they also have kid's menu.

I had local squid, the portion was giant, fresh, the price really good for the value. We returned the next day as it was our last night in Killarney and we knew that it was just going to be great again. This time I had the crab claws which was also delicious. There'll be a potentially a wait around dinner time. Luckily, the service is good and the line will move quickly. The brochure at the table claims this is run by a conglomerates of fishermen rather than some corporation. Good thing they know how to make some awesome fish n' chips - in fact, the very best I've had to date. The batter was perfection - so crispy and golden; and the fish was so soft and tender. It tasted ridiculously and impossibly good. OH, the chowder was also decent but not really on the same plane as ze fish.

Yesterday I ordered sea bass and chowder for takeaway and the process was so easy, the price so reasonable and the fish so fresh. We were after fresh seafood and that is what we got!! Quinlan’s is perfect if you’re after a laid back, fresh, top quality meal with friendly and efficient service. I tried the Dingle Bay Squid and the Wild Haddock with proper chips and probably the best mushy peas I’ve ever had!! The restaurant was packed and the waiters coped so well. The bottle of wine we ordered was out of stock and they gave us a better wine for no extra charge... I mean what more could you ask for.

Quinlans is one of the best restaurants in Cork. The food is always amazing and the waiting staff are always polite, friendly, very knowledgeable of all the items on the menu and extremely efficient. We have been here many times and it is always guaranteed to be a fabulous dining experience. There was a few issues with our food on this occasion, first it was the wrong dish, then the second time the food was undercooked and raw but the third time the meal was perfect. This is the first time anything like this has happened while dining here and even with all these problems we will definitely be going back. The waitress who was serving us could not have been more apologetic for all the issues we had and she was outstanding to do a busy lunchtime service as the only waitress on, only being assisted by the bar person. She even removed the full charge for the dish that had the issues. Her going above and beyond to rectify the dish and then remove the charge really cemented why we love this restaurant. This place is a must see.

It's almost 9 in Killarney and you don't know what to do? Obviously it's a very quirky town so I'm sure you will have no problem in finding a great Pub but as everyone knows, you don't drink on an empty stomache! This brings me to Quinlans. It's a bright Restaurant (more bar with tables) that seats maybe 50-60 People? We got there and people were waiting on the street. Since it was just the 2 of us we got in rather quick. Maybe 10 minute wait? We both had the special which was fish (who would've thought). For the price it was good. The atmosphere is exactly as you would expect and you really won't be staying to long. Hence the short wait for us outside. The food was worth the money. The service was quick and thoughtful even though there was a mix up with some of the reservations. All in all I would do it again... at least for a quick bite!

A very comfortable place in the very heart of Killarney mainstreet where they serve fresh seafoods on their menu. The staff team are a bunch of amazing and very friendly people. There is a kid friendly menu with colouring options on the menu. There is absolutely no dull moments for the children at all while you are there. The rest rooms are near and well kept . My son absolutely loves every bit of our visit to the location. We will definitely visit Quinlan's again when we visit Killarney in the nearest future.

The fish and chips were so good that we ordered it both nights we stayed near Killarney. There may be a wait to eat there, but take away is always an option. The orders came with a ton of fish and you have the option of choosing between cod, pollock, hake, plaise and whiting. The chips were also incredibly abundant. Unfortuantly turned up early evening on a busy Saturday and got a ticking off for not knowing the queuing rules. Turns out there is a notice at knee level in the airing cupboard size lobby inside the front door which spells it it out. "Stay where you are, dont even think about walking towards a vacated table" but by the end of our meal I believe we had gained some favourability with madam in charge. So why five stars? Well we returned on a less hectic evening and there was no such problem because we knew the rules and tables were becoming available more frequently, but mainly because the fish and chips were probably better than even Carlsberg could produce if they did Fish & Chips, absolute heaven and if you take the precaution of asking for the drink that comes with the meal to be delivered after eating and its a cup of tea then it is perfection and worth all the five stars in the world.
