Definitely make a reservation before you go! They get full and won't take walk-ins. Loved the atmosphere here, seating was very comfortable. We had the scallops, pork belly, and crispy crab for appetizers. My favorite was the scallops since it paired perfectly with the bacon, creamy sauce, and crunchy almonds. For entree I'd recommend the teriyaki salmon, so delicious! But save room for dessert because I loved the vegan Panna Cotta.

One of the best Restaurants in Kinsale. Food is very good. Varied menu to suit most tastes, lovely staff. The wine list is very comprehensive but if in doubt on choice, ask the owner, Colm to help you out, he’s a walking, talking encyclopaedia of wines.

We dined here on our last night in Kinsale and it was beyond amazing. Food was beautiful. Our waitress recommended the scallops and the John Dory fish and it was spectacular. We treated ourselves to a really nice bottle of wine and it was gorgeous. My partner also had a glass of another wine with dessert and its one of the best wines we've had. Thank you to everyone for a really memorable last night in beautiful Kinsale. Can't recommend this place enough!

This restaurant was so good we went back a second time in one week! Best pork belly dish I've ever had. Rendered to perfection. Staff very friendly and efficient. Cracking eclectic music playing, so good we got the spotify link!! Would definitely return, again!!

We had our anniversary dinner here and were excited by the seafood and asian fusion options on the menu. The place was full but the service was friendly and quick. As we ordered all seafood, it was all cooked well and not overdone. We were satisfied with our meals but would rate the food good, not excellent. The main problem with this place was the wine list. Other tables had a pendant light but ours had only candlelight. The wine list was 15 typed pages with long descriptions loosely held in a clipboard and the pages not in order. The options were mainly French and Italian wines so you could not browse easily by grape variatal. Quite simply it was overly long and complicated. When we asked our server for something akin to a Chardonay she couldn't help us nor offered to get someone else who could. It honestly became a bit stressful just to pick our drink at the start of the dinner with no help in the dark. i'm taking off the other star due to the poor value. Mains are 25-ish and starters 15-ish. The wine was over 40 and wasn't worth what we paid. The cheese board was 5 tiny bite-sized pieces of cheese and lots of crackers. The bill was €142 but we were charged €150 which I didn't notice until later. In addition to leaving a tip it was very expensive and certainly not worth it. We won't be coming again.

Delicious high quality meal as expected in Ireland's food capital, Kinsale. Good atmosphere and music, a perfect setting for a date. I enjoyed a steak which was cooked to perfection, and was a classic fillet cut of excellence.

I booked a table at Cru for my boyfriend and I after hearing some good reviews and articles being posted about it online. We had a 3 course meal and bottle of wine for 140€. Scallops to start with and crab claws which were quite chewy to our liking. As for the mains I was quite disappointed. I had the lentil squash curry, which for 20€ I expected it to be something with a bit more umami. It was really quite bland and the flatbreads hard and chewy. We were also surprised and suspicious at how fast our food came out! We barely waited 5 minutes after our starter plates were cleared up and the mains came. Desert was a creme brûlée and a chocolate & orange mouse topped with honeycomb. I couldn’t get much of the orange flavours, but the sweet treat hit the spot. Apart from the mediocre food, the wine was lovely! A beautiful easy going red that fit the vibe of the place. The staff were great too.

Lovely meal and top class friendly service. Really interesting menu that offers all the classics while giving a little modern twist. Extensive wine menu covering all the bases. Desserts are simply out of this world. The best Crème Brulee my partner has ever had she claims, while the Belgian Chocolate dessert is out of this world.

Really lovely atmosphere, great food, and great wine. We started with Primrose Fizz’s which were so yummy we downed like apple juice! Collum was behind the bar serving us and we loved his restaurant so much we cancelled our reservations elsewhere to eat here. We wanted everything on the menu but decided upon a few delicious starters and entrees! If you are in Kinsale, highly recommend this place. It has Irish favorites like fish and duck but with inventive spins. A welcome change from heavy pub food.

We went here for food in August 2020. Alot of places fully booked. The staff were very friendly when we arrived. Our table was not ready but that was ok we sat and waited. They were lovely the staff. The food was unreal. I had crab meat and avocado to start beautiful. I had fish for my main it was so good. I then had cheese and biscuits the chutney was gorgeous with this dish. My partner had a gorgeous chilli beef for a main. Great food. I'll be back for sure. Thanks.

My wife and I had the opportunity to visit here this week on a date night. We didn’t have reservations but they were very accommodating and able to get us seated right away. The wine selection is great and they are happy to provide recommendations as well. We opted to try multiple small plates of food tapas and very dish we had was well thought out and tasted amazing. We paired these with the wine and The entire experience was excellent.

The attention to detail is not only evident in the food and the service; it’s not uncommon to see the owner shopping local, selecting the best cuts,fresh fish and produce. Confidence inspiring. What a find our fourth night in Kinsale and we kept the best till last. Did not hear about Cru, we twere tuned down by 2 restaurants and walked in. We have found all prices in Kinsale are similar and Cru is not cheap. The best turbot I have ever had Book now these new boys on the block are the best in Kinsale. It’s a winner.
