Incredible service,. The staff were definitely 5 star quality. Polite, attentive and very friendly. I ordered the seafood chowder, it was delicious and there was no skimping on the fish, it was loaded with chunks of fish. It is a meal in itself. I also ordered an open smoked salmon sandwich, very fresh, tasty and very good quality. My friend ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich, which came with chunky chips. He said it was delicious. Neither of us left food on our plates. We ordered the banoffi pie between 2 for the desert, It was the perfect ending, that and a decent cup of Barry's tea! You won't be disappointed, I highly recommend it.

A great family run business. Great food lovely atmosphere reasonable price great menu . They even do accommodation above the restaurant and pub . It’s so central it’s perfect for getting around . Was a bit mediocre, food was OK, service was ok, staff friendly enough. However, the heating was on full whack, place was boiling hot and even necking the pints didn't help. Mostly a forgettable meal, apart from being cooked myself. Ate here a few years ago and I remember it being a lovely meal, maybe once covid passes it'll be memorable once more.

Jimmy's is consistently good. Great seafood. Pan fried plaice, monkfish scampi the best and there are mear dishes too. Ypu can't go wrong visiting it. But book. Its very popular. Lovely pleasant service too and not over priced.

Had the pleasure to have lunch here last sunday . Great service, very tasty lobster as special and nice suprisely fish and chips made with tempura I guess ? My girlfriend ordered the seafood au gratin, a kind of fish pie .. very tasty aswell and well served . I'd defenetly suggest this place and will come back if around Kinsale .

Food was lovely, busy outside dining, however was disappointed to see another customer taking out her cigarette and smoking it in the designated outside DINING area, while others eating. This is not a designated SMOKING AREA. Manager please take note. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she said the wind was blowing in the opposite direction. . We were advised to come here for good food, and we weren't disappointed. The menu was reasonably priced and the portion sizes were filling. The staff are lovely, very friendly and easy going. The restaurant was closed for renovations so we had our meal in the bar area. It's not romantic, but rustic and cosy. We'll definitely come back again.

I can only speak to the bar in this place, but it was my first fish and chips experience in Ireland, and it didn't disappoint. Pair that with a Murphy's, and this place was heaven on Earth. Would go back in a heartbeat. Loved it. Imagine a movie set for an Irish pub, and this is pretty much it.

The food was delicious. The service was awful. Our server went on a break, we were later told, we didn’t see her again after she took our order, but no one else checked in with us or took over our service. We had to go to the bar to get our own drinks and then we had to ask twice for the drinks, because the bartender forgot. We had to inquire about main dish being served, because it didn’t arrive in a timely manner after appetizers. It was awful service, but the food was good. It is a shame. A local referred us. Our inquiries about lack of service were met with indifference.

Jim Edwards was recommended place to eat by our host. So we went and the food was absolutely delicious I wouldn't recommend the steak for it is a little different then the steaks back home in the US. But if you're willing to try new things go for it it is still very good but for the seafood the salmon literally melted in my mouth so good!!

Stopped in for dinner. The entire fills up quick at least in August so get a reservation or go early. Service was prompt and the food was great. They had a huge party in place but made the effort to get our dinner order in prior. Loved the place.

Mostly mediocre. The crab cake appetizer was light on the chili sauce and chewy but not memorable. The seafood stew was outstanding. Would have ordered wine but the list was very short and economy based. It can get pretty loud in here too. There’s much better dining in the area making it easy to skip this one.

Dirty toilets🚽 is so unfresh in a place that serves food. Slow service despite not being too busy. Have had equally good seafood out of a food van. So the place would do with a freshening up. Don't trust all the plaques on the wall.

They took us in, the mere peddlers we were, and offered us a lovely meal even though it was late (9 PM), on a Sunday night. Delicious Irish fare and if you're having dessert, I highly recommend the "Warm Toffee Pudding." Enjoy!

We ate in many places all over Cork and Kerry Counties. Crab cakes only made with seafood and herbs. No potato. ..crispy, yet juicy. So delicious. Seafood chowder, again, only seafood, not much cream. Tastiest I've ever had and I'm a Canadian from a fishing town! Go try it!

Very friendly service, The rooms are nice and there was an good offer (Menu meal, breakfast and bed for 49€). The Main dishes were very good. As a vegetarian I had the mille feuille with vegetables, very delicious. Max friend had salmon and liked it very much Too. The side dishes were many, but a Little flat and underspiced (for non local tastebuds). As a startet i had The golden mushrooms, which tasted like Fish (Fried in The Same Oil?) a no go for Vegetarians. The Dessert was super delicious (chocolade fudge). So except The mushrooms and The Side dishes everything was very Good. I give The Five Stars especially because of The friendly Service. Edit: The breakfast was Rich and delicious, we had Frusts with cream, cereals and then an Irish breakfast with scrumbled eggs.

Max's was closed but the owner suggested Jim Edwards We entered and were seated and the place was packed. The food is excellent, delicious!!! Very cosy traditional setting,with lots of dark wood. I deducted a star because there was only one main course option for vegetarians. The vegetarian option was a vegetable stirfry with curry sauce on the side. It looked lovely but, as I said, no other choice.

Very pleasant hotel, restaurant and pub located next to the port area of ​​Kinsale. Short menu, excellent traditional fish & chips and good service, without waiting times.
