An amazing experience. This is the first time we've dined indoors since December 2020. All the staff in The Old Thatch were very helpful and kind to me and my parents. Each COVID certificate was checked and all measures were enforced. Food was out of this world. Plenty of good and nourishing food. Would recommend and will come back

This Cork pub is believed to be the oldest thatched pub in Ireland – and has been in the same family since way back in the 1600’s. But it’s not back in the dark ages, and its pub grub and friendly atmosphere make this historical spot a must-visit.

One of the best dinners we've ever had! We had no reservation but they still took us in with just a 10 minute wait in the bar. Staff were amazing, so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Food was to die for and the amount of meat on the plate we couldn't finish it. We had sunday lunch september 2020 , we arrived late for our booking due to traffic a jam. We were seated immediatly and felt safe due to protocol. It was very busy and full , the food wait was longer than normal but when it arrived , it was worth the wait, our server was great and complements to the Chef , who's plate was the best in many years that iv'e had. We come from restauraunt and hotel staff background, keep it up !

Had lunch in there with my daughter. I had Roast Beef and she had soup. Both were really nice and the service was excellent. The lease of this establishment has been taken over recently and it shows. New Management, new chef, everything has improved. I wouldn't go there for a long time because in my opinion it was a terrible experience, but I have no hesitation in recommending it now.

A busy spot. I had a seafood salad. Nice and big tinned prawns smoked mackerel and boiled white fish. Like the sign a cat had about its owner " adequate". A little too cosy for me. If you want a quick substantial meal a good place to go.

On the way home from Cork, quick service, Homemade Veg soup, with Home-baked brown soda bread was wonderful. Missus had seafood chowder, she loved it. Friendly staff. Ideal spot to stop for a bit of grub along the Waterford to Cork road.

Food has really gone down in quality. It's our favourite stop off on our way back from cork but this visit left us feeling like we might not bother again. Chicken wings were far from even close to crispy, sauce was poured over them in their bowl without trying to mix them. Burger is just a mess, 1 bite and everything is all over the place. Goujons were the opposite to the chicken wings, way to well done. Staff are always pleasant.

If you are passing through Killeagh you have to stop at this restaurant. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is awesome. There is also a playground and a nice trail through the woods just behind the restaurant that you can enjoy after a wonderful meal. A must go!
