Oh Wow!!! I absolutely love this place. The food is incredible & there is a beautiful selection on the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the wine too!! The service is top class which made the dining experience all the more enjoyable. Really nice ambiance. I can see why it's highly ranked on TripAdvisor. Glad we found this little gem.

Delighted to see a full vegan menu including starters and desserts! Gorgeous restaurant, staff are lovely, food is great and they serve fab local craft beers. The eastern spiced mushrooms with mango dip starter is amazing, highly recommend 😍 For main I got the wild mushroom pasta with truffle oil, it's very tasty - although the non vegan option my boyfriend got came with a ciabatta slice and parmesan - its a pity there is no vegan equivalent of these (olive oil / vegan butter ciabatta or even plain ciabatta, vegan parmesan etc). For dessert I got the poached pear with garden coulis and vegan ice cream - although it was just like a fruit salad and pear was like tinned pear rather than poached pear. Might be worth adding a vegan desert option that isn't fruit like a brownie or something. Overall we really enjoyed our experience here ☺️

Impeccable service. Even when you're eating alone, you're made to feel special. The prawn tempura is a departure from the original but not wholly disappointing. The lamb shank is simply sublime, in that it sublimates in your mouth and on the tip of your fork. The gravy is a tad on the sweet side but is counterbalanced by the rich creaminess of the mash. The cocktails are fun and clean. The mojito is exceptional. The atmosphere is lively and lovely. It can get a little rowdy in the evening through no fault of the restaurant. All in all a simpler, more homely, less pretentious version of lemon tree (though I'm sure that's what the folks at lemon tree were going for anyway.

After outdoor dining came back in June, I've had fish and chips in an award winning pub in Lucan and in 2 pubs in Connemara...Fish and chips at the Yellow Pepper was miles better than what I've had in last couple of months. After seeing photos of the food I was really excited to get down and stuck in. It's a cosy place with friendly staff, and good looking food. Sadly I found that the food looked better than it tasted. The meal was nice but I was expecting more. The quantity of muscles in the starter was very generous. Had the pork belly for the main but sadly this was very disappointing. Not much meat on the plate and it was very chewy at that. My photos don't do it justice as the lighting didn't help for a good food and didn't want to disturb fellow diners using the flash.

Passable. Nothing more, nothing less. Everything was nice, but not beyond expectation. signature dish lamb was not my type—it is slow cooked, with parsnip and carrot , mashed potato with spring onion, soft and fleshy. I would prefer the flavor of medium rare lamb, which is sweet and juicy.scallops and seafood platter was fresh but not sweet, chowder too greasy.

Lovely clean comfortable restaurant. We stopped here by chance and will be back again if we are around Letterkenny. Friendly staff and a menu that should cater for most people we had lunch here and every course was high quality tasty food even down to the salad dressings. We went for the two course deal for €18 each and it was well worth it and with drinks it only came to €45 and that's hard to beat with the quality on offer here. It had paid parking out front on the street (max stay 2hours) with plenty of spaces free. I would definitely recommend this restaurant in good conscience to anyone looking for a tasty lunch. And whoever does take me up on this recommendation I hope you enjoy it as much as me and my wife did.

The Yellow Pepper has all the elements of a great restaurant. The service was superb; friendly and prompt. The food was original in its use of spices and cooked just right. The potions were large such that we had two take aways of food we could not finish and enjoyed it the next day. I had the seabass and my wife had a chicken dish that she said was perfect. The decor was very nice, bright and comfortable, maybe even romantic. I also liked that they listed the suppliers of their food ingredients, most of whom appeared to be local to Ireland. The menu sounds nicer than what it is. I started with the mussels which were overwhelmed with heavy cream in the sauce, little other flavour was coming through. The actual mussels were tasty and well cooked though. I then had seabass on a bed of smoked haddock and prawn risotto, which sounds lovely. The seabass was strange in that the skin hadn't been seared and was still soggy. Then it was garnished with assorted spices, fennel seeds and chilli, which you would never eat anyway. Because the fish was cooked slowly, the fat had leached out the side and congealed into a gloopy gelatinous edging. The risotto was so creamy and heavy it overwhelmed everything else on the plate and detracted away from a soft delicate fish. I had the garlic potatos which I made the wrong decision to pour on to the plate, along with a puddle of melted butter. The menu sounds lovely but it's not well balanced. I felt like they were trying too hard to make things sound nice rather than delivering food that tastes nice or goes well together. I found the meal so heavy. The service was good, the staff pleasant, everything else was enjoyable, apart from the food. It was well cooked, it just didn't work.

Went there with my family in August 2015. We had four different dishes and shared them. All were very delicious. I can also recommend the desserts and the craft beer. We didn´t like the water which tasted of chlorine, but it was free, thus I will not take in into account for my rating. Maybe they could ask whether the guests wish spring water for a little extra charge. The staff was courteous and helpful. I can highly recommend this restaurant.

It was our 1st time in Letterkenny and thought we would try this place for lunch. We checked out the menu outside and they had hand written specials up which looked amazing so we went in. Unfortunately the special where for the evening service but we stayed and I'm so glad we did. We got a starter and mains each and everything was amazing, even the bread they give while your waiting for your starter was so fresh and delicious. I had the sweet chilli chicken for my mains and I would highly recommend it, it was simply amazing taste. The staff where friendly the place had a nice atmosphere. If we are up that way again I will defo go back, i can't wait to try more on the menu.

In Letterkenny for the week- end, for the first time. We have eaten at YP for the past two nights; last night rolled in there without a reservation and were seated within two minutes. Really enjoyed the mussels( main course portion) and shepherd's pie, after a shared deep fried mushrooms! Food, service and ambience were top class. Prices were good value for the food quality. The service e was top drawer. Just back after having the early bird menu; mussels, garlic mushrooms, two battered fish with mashed potato. The starters were really good, mussels portion was huge and really tasty. The fish was soo crispy, tasty and huge. The wine list is very wide and seems fairly priced. Had a bottle of Chilean Zinfandel/Shiraz, very fruity and gluggable. Highly recommended.mend Yellow Pepper to anyone looking for great food in a lovely atmosphere, with great service.

Three of us walked around letterkenny for 20 minutes looking for a nice place to eat and a local walking on the street overheard us and told us this was the best place to eat in town. When all the other places we tried before were pretty empty the Yellow Pepper was busy. All three of us thought the food was great.

We have been visiting here for years and its always been our number one choice for family occasions from christenings to birthdays and just a great spot for a cosy lunch on a cold winter's day. The food is always spot on tasty and well presented. What makes it stand out though is the staff and the owners that make every visit memorable. Always a good positive vibe and every time we return it's like visiting an old friend . On our visit this evening we were seated by Marc over by the window and just the spot we would have picked. He is always on hand to recomend a good wine. Rosie was over to see if we were ok and she is amazing! Always up for a laugh but always on the nail when things need to be done. Kieran and Carol are great hosts and run a great restaurant and it's thier attention to detail that make this such a great place to visit .
