For a hearty meal from a moderately priced menu, you should visit Simpsons in Carndonagh in the Inishowen peninsula in North Donegal. The current outdoor eating arrangements due to Covid are well organised. If you are venturing to Malin Head, Ireland's most northerly point, this would be a recommended stop for dinner or lunch.

From the moment we walked in the door the service was first class. The staff are very pleasant and accommodating. We didn't have to wait long for anything, and got a great seat by the fire. Our food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back when we are in the area again.

Hi Just back from the restaurant The starters were good ( bbq chicken wings and prawn salad) My main was very disappointing 😞got battered cod,fish was very very dry came in 2 pieces 😕 I had one bit and send the other one 2 the kitchen They didn't charge us 4 it The shef have agreed that the fish wasn't the way it should be Things like that just puts me of 4 coming back...

We haven't been here in a while. Used to be a great place for food. Was a bit disappointed in my recent visit. I got chicken Maryland, was out very quick & was tasteless. My daughter ordered a cheese pizza, & later found out there was onions in the sauce for the base. She only ate 1 slice. This used to be 5 star in my book, not today.

Sept.2017 My B&B host dropped me off here for some dinner. Sat at the bar, had a great traditional Irish plate of pub grub. Was quiet in there...not much going on. Ate & left.

Had the best fillet steak in Simpson's bar and restaurant in carandonagh last night, I have never had a fillet steak on a fillet steak and cooked to perfection. The staff are always so friendly and nothing is too much trouble 10/10

If you're ever in this part of Ireland, you need to get a bite here. It is a nice, clean, and delicious place to eat. I ordered two of the starters, the seafood chowder and the Atlantic prawn salad and was very satisfied with both the taste and the portion size. My husband ordered the stuffed peppers and thought they were some of the best he had ever eaten (even better than the ones I make). The sweet potato fries were also very good. The lunch was so good and we were so hungry that no pictures were taken, so you'll have to go see it all for yourself.
