D.Busy spot waited 20 minutes for table and was worth it, starters came out quick nd mains wasn't too long of a wait, same for dessert. Food was very good and staff were polite and friendly. Definitely be back again.

B. F.I went here with my family when I was a kid and the place was great,it only gotten better with time. The food is delicious the staff are polite and very hard workers. I can't believe someone would give this place a bad review. At the moment with the covid situation it's a great spot to go. The outside is not only incredibly designed but practical had dinner with my kids yesterday and we sat outside in the sun and had a great meal. If your looking for food mj Finnegan's is one of the best if not the the best place around.
O. M.Stopped of on the way to limerick for a rugby game. Lovely friendly staff. Very clean. Menu was a good pub menu with good variety. Pork spring rolls were tasty, and could not go wrong with bacon and cabbage. Big portions so go hungry.
C. H.Overpriced breakfast, tea/coffee not included in full Irish price, had to pay nearly 70 euro for a 5 breakfasts(two of them kiddies meals) 4 slices of toast between 5 of us. You can get a beautiful breakfast in kilmurry for a tenner! Better value for money and a better breakfast

V. O. N.A great place to stop for a meal. I had breakfast here and it was great value for money. Service and staff were excellent. In today's climate with the Coronavirus you have to book in advance. When it comes to hygiene they are definitely on the ball.

If you're making that same trip it is worth it to make it your lunch spot on the way. We were so happy to find this place. Food was great, staff was friendly, and a great Irish like country atmosphere. Had a locally brew Ale that was great as well. Give it a try

E. A.Very interesting decor and ample space. Plenty seating indoors, a number of picnic benches outside and a big enclosed marqee. Also noticed big screen televisions for sports broadcast. We stopped for lunch. I saw about 30 customers ordering food. The burgers and chicken curry were very average and the pint of Heineken cheered things up a bit. A pity the decor had more wow factor than the food.

D. H.We stopped off at MJ Finnegans on our way back to Kildare from Lehinch on a Monday afternoon in July 2021. Food and drink were available for outdoor dining only due to COVID.
We were met by a member of staff immediately and brought to a table in a very pleasant and well laid out outdoor seating area. We felt comfortable with the measures put in place to accommodate social distancing and it had a nice atmosphere.
We ordered 2 dinners and 2 kids meals. Service was prompt and the portions were generous. My wife ordered the Vol au vents and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm knocking a star off because the Buttermilk chicken burger I had was on the dry side.
The kids really enjoyed their meals (garlic bread & burger).
I'd definitely stop off for a bite to eat again.

On the other hand it can often be slow but there's a lot of staff running around seemingly doing very little. Have been coming here for a good number of years and the recent changeover has seen it take a few steps forward, but a few more back.

sometimes it can be busy but you have to wait long untill a freiendly worker greets you and gives you a perfect amount of time to figure out what you want.

B. T.It was so good! The food was amazing : I had the goats cheese salad and my husband had the burger. We were both very impressed. Priced very reasonable and the service was very fast! Served piping hot and our server checked on us numerous times to be sure we didn't need more water or would like anything else. We will definitly be back!

For main courses we had beef three large slices - a generous portion.....great value
Toilets were spotless I would highly recommend a visit....
S.Excellent Covid-19 restrictions were in place throughout during our stopover last Saturday e.g.spacious queing system to wait to be seated, we were seated immediately upon arrival, all staff wearing face coverings, hand sanitizer readily available upon entry & exit. Very reassuring and an enjoyable experience. The host made us feel very welcome. The service was really prompt, our food order arrived quickly and was delicious. The young lady serving us was so polite and attentive to our needs. Highly recommended!

They have a big car park so parking isn't a problem. And just off the motorway, so very handy if you are coming or going.

But the pricing on adults menu is ridiculous - €14.50 for chicken curry lunchtime & €1 extra for half & half (rice & chips) - that was never charged for before...would love to go again but would seriously consider not going...

Also the kids were a bit disappointed as it was written on the kids menu that once they find where the MJ elf was hidden they would receive a prize and they got nothing. Once they write those things they should honour them...Despite this everything was up to what one would expect for an upmarket pub grub. I would go there again.

D. F.No frills dining place. Traditional Irish menu with day specials. Priceworthy. They serve jug and glasses with plenty of delicious tap water, won't force soda on you, will top up your free tap water readily. Very few Irish restaurants serve free tap water..
Mostly attended by locals, very authentic.. Shocked when we wanted to tip them. They couldn't accept the tip on the card terminal so we gave them our remaining small change. The cashier passed the change onto the waitress who ran after us to thank.
The 1 🌟 down is for their very poor selection of beers. Either on tap or bottles, just global macro breweries. That's part of the authentic experience though ;-)

If our workteam which is based on this side of the city is out for a team lunch we also visit Finnegans as there is a good selection of healthy and other options. In my many visits to Finnegans I have never had a complaint and the decor is also top notch.
