Lovely experience ! Had the Sunday surprise 5 course lunch menu with good friends. I fell in love with the venue immediately after A pleasant 40 mins drive from Galway . Lovely Stone work , high ceilings, large windows, scenic garden views and warm wood beams created the charm. The staff were professional and very courteous. .The French Sommelier Vladimir looked after us very well. My favourite dishes were the squid with Brussel sprouts and the delicious venison with mushroom 🍄... We were so happy that we spent from 1.15 to 6.46 over lunch!! The champagne was perfect and well chilled. The Georgia Red wine from a new winery 🍷 was exquisite. Dry, rich and impressive. Yes, I will be back !!

A wonderful experience! The unique flavour created by the wood burning oven is unforgettable. The level of detail in the food presentation is superb coupled with the knowledge and understanding displayed by the staff about each dish brings fine dining to a new level. Lignum is an example of a young team bringing excellence to cooking.

Fantastic experience, the setting is so good , blending in with nature . Locally sourced ingredients and the farm they get their vegetables is where I get them too , just a mile from them . Very carbon neutral , eco friendly . The service is fantastic. The food is full of flavour and distinctive. Each course complements the other . They have a fantastic wine list. The beer from the Donegal Brewery Kinnegar is one of my favourites. It felt like I was in Scandinavia with the rich and warm wood floors , walls panelling and tables . Good quality plates and cutlery too. The pastry chef is fantastic. They do a lot of in-house fermenting, pickling and culturing and it shows in the taste and texture. They grow a myriad of herbs in their garden and you can watch them harvest the herbs just before the meal is prepared. I attended Noma one of the best restaurants in the world in Copenhagen some years ago and it was fantastic, I felt the same pleasure here . Very vegetarian friendly too , except for vegan all food preferences are catered for . I would be back again for sure

Great location, fantastic food, epicurean dining experience. A few irritants The reception was a bit cold & aggressive, i thought, may be my perception. There is no network to retrieve my digital COVID cert. Sat by the fire exit, which other guests opened to the enter the dining room, results in a cold draught entering the dining room. Waited more than 20 mins to pay & leave the place Saying that I will be back to taste the expert cooking at Lignum

What can I say? This restaurant is a whole experience as soon as you walk in the door. From sedate interiors to absolutely and utterly delicious food that explodes like a rainbow of taste on the pallet. I highly recommend this restaurant though I believe it should be named Lignummy num.

Visited on 19-12-2020 - dinner for 2. The restaurant is absolutely stunning; really modern and at the same time rural feeling. Loads of stone and wood finish; burnt wooden planks are a nice touch and bring a lot to the decor. Went for 8 course dinner with wine pairing. 8 courses turn into 12 in total if You count little "breaks" and "extras". Perfect amount of food and spot-on wine pairing. Staff really attentive, adjusting their attitude to their customers, so lots of small talk and good few laughs with us. The food itself surprises You with multiple unusual / modern combinations, however, all perfectly balanced, packing flavour and leaving You wanting more. At the same time all courses were so beautifully assembled and one can feel sorry for eating this work of art. I have been visiting Michelin starred restaurants for many years now and Lignum is on at least 1 star level; trust me. Definitely will be back very soon!

There aren't enough stars to describe this beautiful restaurant. The walk alone from the car park showed the thought and attention to detail that goes into everything here. The staff were so helpful and friendly and everything was meticulously presented. And the food.......sensational...The 10 course tasting menu is a thing of great joy...the delight at tasting each wonderful course and the suspense of what wonders the chefs will create with a simple ingredient for the next course. i cant wait to see what the larder has in store for next season

Lignum is excellent in all the important ways. The room is spectacular - eating here feels like an occasion. The front of house team are approachable, skilful and clearly passionate about their project. The cooking is delicate, thoughtful and precise. The wine pairings are ingenious and well judged. I’m so glad to have been here in the early days of a place which will surely be a star of the scene in Ireland. A few details which stand out: there’s a tour of the kitchen on arrival; the bread course is exceptional; the portions are slightly on the small side (even for fine dining).

We had the Sunday lunch and had beautiful snacks, gorgeous homemade bread and butter, multiple shared starters, main and desserts plus a couple of surprises. Really worth it. I have been fortunate enough to eat at Lignum twice. It is a gem.. Every course is well thought out and delicious! Which is more, the menu was completely different on both occasions that I visited, speaking to the creativity and talent of the head chef. The service is fantastic, welcoming and homely. Had an amazing night at Lignum restaurant, highly recommend - the actually building itself created a very modern “west of Ireland“ feel and added to the whole concept behind the restaurant. The staff were professional, friendly and accommodating without being over bearing. The food was superb; each course was a treat both in taste, sight and smell. The highlight was the chocolate dessert, out of this world! Cannot wait to go back!

This is a beautiful restaurant with well presented, incredibly tasty food. The service and 'introduction snacks' of oyster and cheese tartlet were wonderful. The cuttlefish and pasta dishes were exceptional and the theatre of the petit fours really added to the experience. However, the wagyu dish was disappointing and underwhelming but overall it was great experience.

This restaurant is going for the wow factor and lordy, do they bring it. The food is absolutely amazing, really creative, great flavours, good variety. There's some lovely touches, like being introduced to the ethos of the restaurant upon arrival with a quick look at the kitchen area and methods of cooking. Several of both the chefs and waiting staff careful introduced each dish. The atmosphere in the restaurant is modern and contemporary but also relaxing, like a spa! Great music too 😉 My only negatives were a pretty hefty fee for sparkling water and a very busy sommelier who looked a bit rushed, but the quality of food the would negate those minor issues. Would highly recommend!

Hidden gem located close to Loughrea. Amazing experience from start to finish. Love the Scandanavian feel of the fitout. Lovely staff, great service and excellent food. Not cheap but worth every penny. Looking forward to return visit.

One of the best restaurants in Galway at the moment. Table of 6 for their 5 course tasting menu. Had a lovely tour of the kitchen on arrival which was spectacular. The grounds where the restaurant is located is beautiful - great use of space and restaurant theme. Daniel Africano and his team were extremely charming and wonderful. Will be back again soon.
