Went with friends for dinner. Everything was excellent, the menu has a good choice, service was very good and we had no complaints about the food, presentation was beautiful as was the taste. Being able to go downstairs to the bar afterwards was great in the heels.

The Batch loaf is officially the best restaurant we have ever eaten in and that’s what makes us keep coming back because no matter how long it is between visits, the quality and standard of the food never changes. We are extremely fussy so they are getting our 10 out of 10. The taste of the food is incredible! And they never take off the chicken supreme with the Bombay potatoes and the creamy curry sauce and that is our favourite dish-We appreciate that they keep the concrete favourites on their menu that people want and don’t try to adapt it to a crazy choice of meals that no one has ever heard of or can even understand what they are - I hate it when restaurants try to go Michelin style when they are superb as they were - all the people want is good food and a menu they can read. So we like the way the menu isn’t complicated but an excellent choice of meals and when the food comes, the presentation is outstanding and the quality and taste is off the scale delicious!! We are from Northern Ireland and we tell everybody to go to Monaghan to the batch loaf because it has to be tasted to be believed. Finally, I just want to say how lovely and professional all of the staff are every time we go. Not to mention how quirky the restaurant interiors are, which I love. It all just makes the whole experience wonderful and one that you just want to repeat as soon as possible again! So if you haven’t been to the batch loaf, you need to go on a book a table because you will want to go back again and again! We just wish it was closer!

A smashing afternoon was had here in 'The Batch Loaf' today. Mathew was an absolute gentleman and a credit to the establishment. Enjoyed the food immensely. A 9/10 for the food but a 10/10 for Mathew.

Amazing food, enjoyed by our whole party. Staff amazing also could not do enough to help. Their PPE was impressive. It's not our first second or third time here but definitely the best experience. In the past we felt it was very loud but with the lower levels of music and the screens in place it felt far more intimate but without losing the ambiance. The Batch Loaf was the nicest food I have ate on my 5 week holiday at home in Ireland. The staff were very friendly, especially the bar man and the lady we met on entering. If I recall correctly, she was the manager. She had a lovely conversation with us when she finished her shift as I had explained to her that we were due to be married that week, however Covid put a hold on our plans. This place was recommended to me and I passed on the recommendation to my friend who was staying close by that same week. They also thoroughly enjoyed it. The seafood linguine and the Bombay potatoes are a must! Thank you all for a wonderful evening, from the Donegal folk!

One of the best restaurants I have been to. Visited family in Ireland who booked as a nice surprise for us. Restaurant is decorated beautiful with lots of space so not to crowded. Service and ambience excellent and the food was stunning. Warm loaf for starter a must as I could of eaten it to myself. Mains were outstanding and price not to bad for what you get. If you are within the versinity this place is a must.

Lovely restaurant. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The food was brilliant and the vegan option - stuffed peppers I would highly recommend. I had spicy lentils with it, it was so tasty. We spent 2 1/2 hours there with friends and could have stayed longer. Can't wait to go again. I would highly recommend it.

Have been many times and most recently went for a family meal. Great range of dishes on the menu for all ages. Food perfect and great service. Had a corner table which was great as we had 2 children with us so couldn't have asked for any better. Really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back.

Lovely restaurant in the heart of Monaghan town. The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough to help. I deducted a star as I didn't like the menu. That said the quality of the food was excellent with fresh produce and well cooked and presented. It just wasn't to my taste. I will say that the people with me spoke highly of their food. The premises involves steep and winding stairs but could not find a lift for the elderly persons in our group and several found the long climb hard work. The restaurant is well decorated and has a lovely ambience and there is a good pub attached which is very popular. I would say also that this restaurant provides freshly baked batched loaf - hence the name, and is scrumptious. So I feel 4 stars is a fair score.

Really lovely evening, our guests were aged between 3 and 82 The staff made sure everyone was happy and the food was amazing, they helped us celebrate a 50TH BIRTHDAY and when heard the same person had just got engaged they gave her a celebration plate as a keeps sake of the event. Cannot recommend this place enough. We will be back.

Have been here a few times and the food is always the food is amazing, staff are very friendly and attentive until you get your food. However We often have to wait a long period of time before ordering desert or even another drink. The last time we went we hadn't received our bill, but wanted to move on so got up and stood at the till there was 5 of us, so hard to miss. But the server continued to stand polishing cutlery, the staff in the kitchen also saw us and done nothing. So we went downstairs and thankfully aoife sorted us out with our payment. Great place but some staff let it down.

Simple things like refilling your water jug without having to be asked, just makes that difference from other restaurants. The food was fantastic! I tested plenty of them round the country and further afield and the best one i ever had was and is "Andy's here in Monaghan. Found the starter to be somewhat disappointing, expected the potato skins to have some additional dressing and not just two dips, also the apple pie dessert need a fork along with the spoon to break up the pastry, other than that. Staff very attentive
