Have not been here for years and with the reopening of indoor dining we decided to reacquaint ourselves... previously we dined in the castle itself but on this occasion there was what appeared to be a freshly built banquet hall in the car park... inside it was very pleasant with a homely and quaint feel to it...service was excellent but the food... what can I say... simply superb... simple, fresh and delicious and plenty of it... really really enjoyed it and will be back again..

FANTASTIC !!! We came over from England for my father-in-law's 75th birthday. We had been recommended to dine at Tyrrelspass Castle restaurant from a family member. Ann was my contact on email from England and was great. We had a wonderful server Lisa, who looked after us on the day. The food was outstanding and the setting was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this restautant. They even decorated his dessert with a Happy Birthday message. What a great touch to a great evening. Thank you xx

Tyrellspass Castle is a beautiful setting for a restaurant. its easy to get to from the motorway so is a good stop off point if travelling across country. The staff were friendly and efficient. The menu is quite dated but the food was cooked well and is probably a favourite of locals.

The arrival of the M6 bypassing Tyrellspass means its all too rare I remember this being one of The Places to stop for food on the long Galway- Dublin drive. Recently took the old road and through the village and delighted to see it open & and in business, even in Covid19 times. So we stopped off, and there's one thing they're famous for: Chicken Curry. When the waitress beats you to the question and prompts "half & half ?" you know it's going to be good. Cannot recommend this place enough.

As on previous occassions we had a fabulous 3 course Sunday Lunch - very tasty starter of chicken and ham vol au vent, followed by main course of salmon with creamed potatoes, roasties and selection of veg and finished with sumptious fresh fruit pavlova and strawberry cheesecake and all for under €50 for two. Travelling back to Connemara, we stopped at our favourite restaurant in the whole of Ireland and possibly beyond! The food here is consistently good with huge portions at very reasonable prices. The dessert of fresh fruit with meringue, cream and ice cream was positively decadent and to die for! Staff always courteous and helpful. My only wish is that I lived near this restaurant! I alway enjoy stopping off at the restaurant on the way to Galway. The last time, last week, my wife and I decided to stop mid afternoon. We got a lovely welcome at reception. We were seated and given menus. The next thing we were approached by a woman and asked do we have a reservation. It sounded unusual as the retaurant was practically empty. She surveyed her clip board and asked for our phone number. We decided that maybe we should leave as it was clear that we had in some way broke a rule however the lady said it would be ok this time. We stayed and had a lovely meal. As the meal progress people came in and ordered their meal. The woman strolled up and down the restaurant surveying her clip board however didn't enquire from anyone if they had a reservation. Out of interest I asked a table of four close by Do You Have a Reservation. They laughed and said No. I feel it will be difficult to stop and eat there again as this new reservatinon system doesn't suit my travel arrangments on the road to Galway. It would be difficult to know what time I would be passing Tyrells Pass. It's a pity as I alway enjoy this establishment.

Attended a friend’s wedding here in October. The staff couldn’t have been any more helpful. It was beautifully set out and the management allowed for unique photographs to be taken at the top of the castle. The food is also really nice in the restaurant. Expect a 40+ minute wait for walk ins for dinner. Totally worth the wait though. Beautiful setting and decor is medieval. Highly recommended!

Waiting times are long and mildly irritating. The food is entirely different. Amazing food. Everything was top notch. Everything had an element of flair to it. Definitely would recommend others to give it a chance to amaze you. When you walk inside you realise it's not big. The waiting area is in a corridor that has the till and utensils for staff. Not really classy but they only have so much space to work with. After that it's all flawless. Been here a few times over the years and been impressed every time.

We just stopped for breakfast it was the only place open on a Sunday morning and the food was quite good; homemade, reasonable prices, service was slow initially but once they took the order everything got quicker but we sat for maybe close to 10 minutes without any service.

The Turkey and Ham is the best dinner in the world.
