Limited soft drinks choice and water was €5 a bottle but the lunch special for 2 courses at €26 was pretty reasonable for the generous portions served. Comfortable setting although it's a little small so probably best to book at busier times. Would certainly visit again.

A.After experience in Spanish restaurant went to try my favourite summer drink Aperol Spritz in here. Great, quick service and friendly staff. Served in the t/a glass as expected 👍🏻. Only thing what I have to mention is price, as for 12oz €9.50 is bit overpriced, but I get that all extra cost for plastic cup. Well done and definitely will come back.

W. S. M.Great experience all around, had a very good evening here, food was simply gorgeous and portions were very generous. We shared antipasti and cheese board platters then had surf and turf. The steak was cooked perfectly to our liking, it was very tasty and very well presented.
We had the classic sticky toffee pudding for dessert, it was delicious. They have a good variety of wines. You definitely get the service and food you pay for, we will be back ! 👍😍🍷

Food was very good but let down by unfriendly service, super expensive wines & a selection of music that didn't fit the ambiance. Also doesn't serve tap water (?!) And didn't check COVID19 certs. Sat outside on terrace. Felt safe but No contact details were taken. Food nice but supposed to be served with roasted veg.... one tiny piece of carrot (v tasty just not enough), & 1 small slice of parsnip! No tap water available, only bottles at €4!! When we enquired.... its policy!! Overall, v expensive for lunch. Won't be hurrying back. Pity.
G. P.Located on Maynooth's main street, Bistro 53 is very easy to find. The decor is bright and modern, featuring a window into the kitchen if you happen to like watching mastery in the making .
The menu is extensive and is sure to have something for everyone, especially if you like your pasta with Chilli.
The beef cheeks were exceptionally tender, with a delicious rich gravy, and a good hot mash ... Which makes a change, as room temperature seems very much on trend across restaurants these days.
Equally the Linguine Di Mare was rich and flavourful if not a little heavy on the chilli for my personal taste...
The servings were generous and certainly filling, and the service prompt.

M. H.I have to say that the food was 4 star for my own personal standards. Had the Lambs liver to start followed by a prawn and pasta dish and finishing up with a tiramisu. The only two faults I had with this establishment was the fact that they tried to put in a service charge for four people and they only served still water from a bottle at a price. Obviously they have still water on tap, but yet they insist on bottled water at an extra cost. Compliments to the kitchen staff.

A. S.A friend and I popped in off the street and had a lovely lunch here. The staff were pleasant and hopeful and the seats were very comfortable and lovely decor. The food was the star. Note though they go for quality over quantity.
C. D.I was the 1st customer after covid apparently 🙌. Arrived soaked with my father on a cycle from Dublin. Cafe was still supposed to be closed and opening later but I asked the waitress if she could recommend anywhere that was open/bike friendly. Rather than send us elsewhere we were served tea and coffee with delicious chocolate cake.

We had a reservation for 8 and arrived at 7.50. We were met by the host who showed to by the table. He left us be but was always near by for quick service. The food is amazing. Perfectly cooked. Above the atmosphere was delightful. We were not rushed. Above all I would like the thank the host who even had time to chat to us at the end of the night. I will be back. Sooner rather than later.
J. J.Lovely food. Great wine. I had calamari - absolutely amazing and seabass- lovely. My party also enjoyed their choise.
The only thing what put us down, was the way we were "kicked out"- few times we were reminded, what our time is up- literary every 5 mins. I felt we were rushed a lot. We got the dessert menu and were told we had no time for a dessert. I don't think we spent more than 1.5 hrs and I understand the booking was made for certain time, but if the restaurant was so busy, and the gap between reservations was so small, they shouldn't took our reservation, or book back to back... it was really unpleasant.

S. N. S.Nice little bistro. We were there for the lunch menu, 2 courses for €11.95. This is a great deal, considering just one starter is at least €10 from the main menu. We got the wings and soup to start, the soup was chicken noodle, but if you were told what you were eating you wouldn't know otherwise, so that was disappointing. But the rest was lovely. Staff were great, very attentive, we were never left waiting long in food, never had to ask for a water refill, and they were very friendly. I'd Deffo be going again sometime in the future.

C. H.So I had heard so much about this restaurant from my parents as they had been here on multiple occasions in the past with friends and by themselves and I was dying to find out what all the hype was really about.
I suppose I can say that for a restaurant that is as elegant and upheld as the top restaurants are these days, Bistro 53 checks all the boxes as to what one would want. The overall experience I had here was very good with caring staff workers and a very clean and comfortable environment, the design and complete look of the establishment is simple and clean on the outside while offering an elegant and ornate interior.
The food here is served beautifully, with plates that are full of food and that look like pieces of artwork presented on a plate, it makes for an overall delightful dinner or lunch.
The menu is slightly over priced for my liking but I suppose that that it just the opinion of a 17 year old guy that doesn't want to spend more than what he's earning on a dinner. It's most definitely recommended to eat here at either lunch time with their cheap menu or with the early bird menu as this can cut the price of the meal in half (actually). Even my parents have said that the restaurant is amazing but that they wouldn't pay the full fees that they charge here as it simply isn't worth spending €38 on a main course if it's not made using some of the most expensive ingredients out there.
All and all I have to give Bistro 53 five stars as it just was incredible. The hype definitely lived up to what it was and I can't wait to get back here for lunch at some other stage to review that menu (I haven't tried it yet).

F. B.It was mid afternoon when I there,the vegetarian dish that I ordered was no longer available but they very kindly made me a vegetarian pasta dish which was delicious. Good coffee to finish.

The two course lunch for €11.95 punched way above it's price point in terms of what we got - really delicious.
One drawback - check the price of the wine. I ordered a glass of white wine without asking the price and couldn't believe that it was €11 (Standard glass of pinot grigio)

M. N.Me and my partner were looking into cozy, intimate restaurants with mouth watering food (as we're both foodies) and I must say this sums up the whole experience we've had at Bistro 53.
We called in just a few hours earlier in the day to book in and the receptionist was extremly helpful and nice. We were welcomed in and were immediately seen to. Needles to say the food was heavenly, truly mouth watering and cooked to perfection. Our waiter made a lovely wine suggestion that worked best with our meals and always checked in on us when appropriate. The food was delivered promptly and hot.
I've noticed comments regarding the price of the food however in my opinion we got top quality food and service for not much more expensive than other restaurants in the area.
As side note for us ladies: the toilets were equipped with tampons! Which I personally found as a really nice touch. I have not seen this done in any other restaurant so I believe it was extremly thoughtful of the owners to do so.
Finally the hospitality from staff and owners which we found out were romanians was spectacular. Thumbs up guys for your hard work and we are deff returning asap.
