S. Y.My friend and I went for lunch during our one hour lunch break during first ease of restriction. Food has been served very, quickly. It was delicious, fresh and seasoned on point. We ordered pasta carbonara and arrabiatta. Proces are not to hight nor too low. We had a drink each and bottle of water as well. Will go back and would definitely recommend!

P. T.It is one of the best places for Italian cuisine in Ireland. Especially, we love their pizza and spaghetti. Restaurant is beautifully decorated and good for dinner. As it's gets busy after 6PM my strong recommendation is prior table booking.

N. S.Beautiful day, loads of people. Suspecting that the waiters were a bit overrun, however they were a bit too.. Attentive. Asking several times during the one meal of everything was okay, if I needed anything else. I also got seated without a menu and was left waiting for a good while before I got to look at the menu.
Other than the service, the food was superb. The chicken wings were delicious, the desert absolutely amazing (a cake by Nonna [enter surname]). The pizza was nice, however I ordered it very spicy and it was not spicy at all. After asking for and adding some chili oil it was moderately spicy, a decent moderate heat.
Definitely a really tasty pizza, just not delivered to the promised level of spiciness.
(While writing this short review, the two different waiters have asked me if I am okay/have ordered already.)
P. G.Generally the food here is delicious and our meal was unfortunately split in two...
I thought My Pollo Monte Bianco was lovely and full of flavour.
My partners lasagna however, was cold and seemed dry from being under the pass too long.
We both ate every bite. But this was not due to the taste, it was due to the massively long time we were left after ordering. I understand the times we are in with lack of staff but there were others in the same boat as us.
Stop taking orders or seating people if you can't serve them to you fullest.
I will be back as the food in previous visits has been incredible. I hope this was only a bump in the road and not a sign of things to come...

K. M.Food was tasty and decent quality. Barman seemed well versed, he explained some substitutions he had to make to my drink. Service was very very slow - 20 mins to pay the bill and eventually had to go up ourselves to pay, hence three stars.
L. W.3 of us ate here last Friday night. Food lovely but customer waiting time horrendous. 2 of the 3 starters arrived at the same time- 10 minutes later I got mine. We had to ask a second time for our drinks. Main courses- 2 pizza arrived but no sign of the 3rd one. After 3 different staff noticing, the last mains was eventually served and the others had finished theirs! We ordered dessert to share and the wrong one came out. We said nothing and just ate it ...ten minutes later a waiter comes towards us with the correct one. Even though there were plenty of staff around there appears to have been a lack of communication between them and very disorganised. We got 2 drinks on the house as a goodwill gesture-which I feel was a minimum for the inconvenience caused! I'd hate to think if there was also a full restaurant inside how they would cope then. As I said , food was lovely but I won't be back

S.Absolutely beautiful, tasty food. The carbonara(€16.50) was lovely and wasn't a massive portion which I really liked. The banofi ice-cream(€7.50) was like a banofi flavoured sundae and tasted amazing just couldn't get to the biscuit at the bottom because the spoon was too big. Lovely staff aswell. 100% recommend

S.Food was alright but very pricey for what we got. Pizzas were okay but weren't cooked properly, half crispy and half doughy. Spaghetti and meatballs, again, were okay but not worth the €15. Garlic bread wasn't great, not for €4.
Meals were takeaway due to current restrictions so would definitely try again when allowed to sit in the restaurant.

Since reopening I have to say the new set up is amazing upstairs on the balcony is gorgeous! For food got the prawn skewer to start and the Linguine di mare.It was Nice and light not like a lot of “Italian” restaurants with heavy sauces which there shouldn’t be any heavy sauces. I also got the raspberry & thyme Tom Collins cocktail which was refreshing and a Salted caramel ice cream. Once again guys you knocked it out of the park!!

P. H.Booked for 6, it was for a confirmation (but I had not mentioned that) I understood we would be downstairs at the side which is sheltered and private. I arrived a few minutes after the rest of the group and they were upstairs on the balcony in a table for 2 and a table for 4, fairly awkward and chilly.. they need to put in more heaters or protection fron the cold. The food was lovely and the waiter made a real effort but I have to say disappointed... we do want to support local businesses but feel we were given the worst seats in the house this evening...

Food was lovely, and really authentic, I really enjoyed the spicy pizza with black olives, and sausage, and my appetiser (mussels in their own juice with parsley, and garlic) was very fresh, and tasty.

We then went up to cocktail bar upstairs, lovely but there was one staff, young girl dark hair, glasses who spoke to us quite rude and nasty. But apart from that the rest of staff were friendly.

P. B.Good lunch with my wife happy with her brushetta and chicken dish. I only has a main as a Coeliac which was spaghetti carbonara but was substituted with gluten free penne which was fine but too heavy a pasta for the dish. It fascinates me that most Italian restaurants use gluten free penne instead of gluten free spaghetti of which is widely available in all supermarkets and tastes lighter and better than penne hence my score of three. service was pleasant but we had a long wait sitting the cold air between courses. They could do better but food is good. It is pricey compared with the huge competition in Maynooth

G. O. C.Did not eat in, collected a takeaway (hope to sit in soon). 4 of us ordered takeaway as we wanted to try Donatello's in its new location. We ordered via phone and got a pickup time. Unfortunately when we arrived to collect the food it was very delayed. 10-15 mins. The place was slammed though! A server sat us with another couple at a table as their food was also delayed and offered us a free drink as we waited. Once the food was ready they also sent us home with 2 more beers and a coke for free. The food was delicious, the service was second to none, cannot wait to eat in here.
L. S.My partner and I went to Donatello's for a meal recently and I have to say the service was excellent. The waiter was so helpful and friendly, which really made a difference.
There was a slight issue with some chicken wings we ordered, as they were a little on the cool side, but once we informed the waiter, they were whisked off to the kitchen and came back perfect!
For mains, I had spaghetti bolognese which was beautiful, and my partner had a calzone, also gorgeous!
We will definitely be back!

Arrived late to Maynooth and only got into town for 9.30 and this place was still serving on a Wednesday, which meant I ate well when most other places were closing.

Tried
1) anchovy toast/fennel sausage pasta. Both good, pasta different and very tasty
2) bruschetta/saltimboca. Saltimboca was very good. Would have enjoyed a little more robust toast with bruschetta as didn't hold up to very tasty tomatoes.

F. P.Starters too expensive for what you get, but fresh and delicious. For main course had seabass from the pan. It could be my mistake cause ordred additional starters last moment to come with main, but seabass was overdone. Almost like potato crisps from one side. I would rather have it little bit colder than overdone if my fault ordering extra aside. If not my fault, hard to tell. Bones don't need to be roasted so hard that you can eat them. Taste of fish is lost that way and seabass doesn't have so much bones to be hard to clean. Wine was excellent and coffee real strong. Bread is excellent!!

S. H.Just called into donatellos coming home from work rang ahead and booked a table for 3 people. We were served by a waiter from the Phillippines his name was Madison.. He was éxcellent. Offering advice and helping us to choose.. 2 ordered pizzas and I ordered a chicken dish all delicious.. He was very entertaining and interesting had a lovely manner.. Told us about his own country and of course loved Ireland.. We had a lovely time great food and a waiter that any manager should be glad to have in their restaurant... Granted it wasn't too busy so he could spend time at all tables... Definitely not over bearing.. He made our nite.... It great to have waiter with manners knowledge sence of humour and a smiley face.... Well worth a visit...
