A. H.A quiet Tuesday and got someone to mind the kids and decided to head out for a meal with my wife. Rang up and was greated by a friendly voice to get a booking as is necessary during covid. Got one and was delighted. Made our way over and had to hand sanatise at door and were greated and brought to our table. The menu had changed since reopening after lock down and some of the menu online were not on it like the Nolans burger which is yum. We got a lovely friendly waitress and table. We had a bit of banter with her. We got 2 lovely pints of Cold Peroni to quench the thirst. Nice. We got the 10oz rib eye steaks and hand cut chips and they were cooked perfectly as requested. Absolutely delicious. We finished off the meal with a shared Crème brûlée and 2 baileys coffees. Lovely Restaurant with a relaxing friendly atmosphere. Thank You

S. B.Great food. Cosy setting. Service very bad, we were asked our order at the bar even though we had booked a table. We were there an hour and our main had still to come out. There didnt seem to be a waitress who was ours and we had to look out for the attention of a waitress for simple things like getting the glasses cleared from the table, desert menu, second drinks and the bill. No tip was given because of this.

I. N.This is about my 5th visit here but never for lunch strangely. Normally its been when Ive been attending a show in the town hall theater located across the road. Its on the Naas side of the river in case your wondering. The decor is shabby chic and a bit old French perhaps. The staff were run off their feet but still managed to be completely professional well informed of their product and absolutely lovely. The manager or owner jumped up to take our order at one point and even delivered it himself. Nothing like seeing a manager sitting on his backside when the staff are flat out to wind me up but surprisingly it happens a lot in Ireland.
The food we had today was goats cheese with onion marmalade on a focaccia bread, fabulous and surprisingly filling. 2 of us had the homemade GF vegetable soup to start. Its serviced with non GF bread which is a bit disappointing that they don't offer GF bread at all as they do have several items on the menu containing bread so the choice was limited in that section. The soup was the best Ive had in years in Ireland. My son had the Croque monsieur sandwich which is the French version of a toasted ham and cheese sandwich. While it was lovely and he really enjoyed it, it wasn't the correct recipe and the advertised sauce did not come on it. So really we paid 6.50 for a ham and cheese toastie which is steep. Nice but not what we ordered. My mum had a starter which she loved and we all had tea or coffee. She also had the chocolate biscuit cake which she said was the best she's had in years. Perfect mix of chocolate and biscuit. I am very picky about my espresso macchiato, the waitress looked at me blankly so I gave her the 2 second direction on how to make it and seriously there must have been someone back there who knew how to make it cause I cant be that good a teacher. Perfection and the coffee brand they use, lovely also.
All in all an excellent choice. I don't live in Kilcullen and my mum lives in Naas so we both drove here especially for lunch and it was a great choice. It put me in the good books as neither my mum or son had eaten here before and both said they will return and recommend.
The service wasn't as good on the other occasions I've visited so I was lucky I know but that's everywhere. On the downside and its the only thing, Kids allowed to run wild in the place as parents sit oblivious. Yes its a restaurant but also a bar. Staff walking around with hot dishes soup and coffee not really good and I don't want to be subjected to anyone else s children no matter how cute they might be. I hear Sunday is a nightmare and like a zoo so I wont ever eat there on a Sunday. I do wish the management would stand up to parents with kids like this as its loosing custom because of it.

L. P.(Translated) Elegant restaurant with a nice soft atmosphere. Good dishes of the day and desserts. Wine not up to par. Very courteous but two-speed service. Good welcome, orders and the service of the first course then an endless break to order the desserts and fall back into oblivion. Intrigued and waiting for consideration, we tried to understand and discovered that the place has other rooms, a pub and a completely full outside as well as a covered exterior.
We understood and accepted the delay of only 3 waiters present during the week.

Buona l'accoglienza, le ordinazioni ed il servizio del primo piatto poi un break infinito per ordinare i dolci e ricadere nell'oblio. Incuriositi ed in attesa di considerazione, abbiamo cercato di capire ed abbiamo scoperto che il locale ha altre stanze, un pub ed un fuori completamente pieno oltre ad un esterno coperto.
Abbiamo compreso ed accettato il ritardo dei soli 3 camerieri presenti durante la settimana.
