Delicious food, fast service and lovely staff. We chose a mix of dishes, and everything was perfect. I'd highly recommend the crispy goats cheese. It's so good! We will definitely be back.

Have always enjoyed this restaurant. The menu is a lovely collection of tapas and mains influenced by Brazil, Spain and Mexico with plenty of choices for vegetarians and a children's menu. Lovely cocktails and in ordinary times, they often have musicians playing in a corner of the restaurant. Nice atmospheric ambience. This week, we had a tasty collection of vegetarian tapas followed by their little custard tarts. Unfortunately the tarts had been heated in a microwave so the pastry lost its crispy exterior in place of a soggy texture and were served on a wooden platter..it is difficult to eat ice cream from dip in the wooden platter...not the best. But the tapas did not disappoint and we enjoyed them very much. Lovely friendly and accomodating service and a well thought through heated outside seating area is available for those who would rather not eat indoors.

The food was AMAZING. We had the best flautas and this is coming from a Texan! We ordered the Mexican tapas plate, which had quesadillas, flautas, tacos and nachos. We also ordered jamón croquetas and sangría. Everything was absolutely delicious. The staff we're all friendly and the place had a fun atmosphere. It would also be a good date night place. Highly recommend!

Amazing, what a restaurant, cannot wait to come back! The menu is very extensive and so many choices. My partner and I had the Prawns pil-pil for starter, and I had the bbq burger for main course. Desserts were just as amazing and the sangria was very authentic. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in all of Ireland.

Had a lovely meal dining outside. Staff were a bit run off their feet, but were very good. Had a great selection of seafood and veggie tapas, but just to warn you, the padron peppers were ridiculously hot! There is a good selection of cocktails, sangria and wines by the glass.

The food was great and the service was friendly too. However, our mains took a very long time to arrive. Going to a restaurant with a toddler in early afternoon, this was neither something we expected or wanted. One staff member shared that they have an entirely new team and since we attended just as dining was reopening, I suspect these delays were due to the kitchen being "out of practice" - so I hope it will get better. Since the food was great, we'll try visiting again in a few months.

Delicious food, never had a bad meal here. My other half is a coeliac and Picaderos provides loads of coeliac friendly options. The waiters are very knowledgeable on the menu for allergens. Reservation is recommended as it is always busy.

I was really looking forward to dinner here. My wife and I had looked at the menu on the website and had a table booked. When we arrived we were told there was a special Cinco De Mayo menu. Although disappointed there was no decent steak option we were looking forward to a tasty selection of mexican food. The food we got however was only okay and slightly disappointing. On the quesadilla starter the chess was liquid from a bottle. I really would have expected real cheese to be inside them. My steak main course (ribeye which wasn't on the menu) was very good, well cooked and generous portion. 1 very good dish and 5 okay dishes wasn't what I was expecting from a restaurant which prides itself on Spanish and Argentinian food. With the amount of stiff competition from other restaurants in Maynooth the standards will have to improve before I consider another visit to Picaderos.

Outdoor seating area open now after easing of lockdown. Starters were fairly small but tasty and had to wait a long time for our mains. Sea-bass and cod were fantastic. Look forward to coming back when things are running smoothly.

Always fantastic. 1st time eating out since covid19 arrived and the tables were well spaced, cleaned and all the staff had masks etc. The food was brilliant, as it always is.

I've been in Ireland for about 3 months now and as soon as I arrived I had been threatened with Picaderos from the potential mother in law, she rated it and i was looking g to impress so offered to take her and my partner as soon as I got a job. Finally after getting my first wage I was able to deliver on that promise and it was worth the wait. Now I'm not saying that it's the greatest tapas I've ever had, but it was good and what pushed it to just better than good was the atmosphere. When I walked in it was warm, cosy, welcoming had quite a bit of a Spanish/Latin flare. I imagine it must be what it's like to be in Salma Hayeks womb for 9 months, but that aside the food is much better than getting fed through an umbilical cord! We decided to get 9 tapas between the three of us, ranging from potato bravas to seafood paela. Now out of every dish we had I would say that the chorizo and honey was the best dish! It was meaty, sumptuous, sweet and a little kick from the garlic! I would of left still happy just eating 9 plates of the chorizo! The meatballs were quite tasty and you could taste slight notes of the cumin coming through and was seasoned well, the calamari was cooked perfectly and not at all rubbery, the chicken flutes were delightful with the sour cream it really makes a difference having the sour cream with otherwise it would hold great on it's on. The potato bravas I have to say were pretty standard more just a filler, I did however enjoy the chamucas a Portuguese take on the Indian samosa, you may be thinking this us a strange on but the Portuguese did colonise South India so it's nice to see that history coming through the dish and you can certainly taste it it came with this chilli oil dip that paired up better with it than Batman and Robin and with more of a kick! Out of all nine dishes I was only really disappointed by two, one being the jalepeno poppers which was really disheartening as I was genuinely looking forward to them. They where really bland which in foavour it was really greasy and the jalapeños just felt flat, when I'm eating jalepeno poppers I like them to be juicy, crisp and stuffed with feta cheese or something similar but this wasnt the case here at all. Second dish I was disappointed with was the seafood paella the paella flavour wise needed to be seasoned more and was still really quite moist at the bottom, the dish itself never had the socoratt which is one of my favourite parts of the dish texturally. I would say overall that the meal was good but it had the opportunity to be so much better. The standout dishes were the chorizo, chamucas and the chicken flutes everything else was standard or substandard. The atmosphere does give it that extra push, especially with the live Spanish gutarist playing! I'd say it's worth checking out.

A great spot. Particularly love their tapas menu, the Chicken and chorizo paella is delicious, one of my favourite items on the menu. Atmosphere is nice, staff are friendly and helpful. An online reservation feature would be great as there can occasionally be miscommunication via telephone.

Came here for visit and I was so happy to find this Spanish restaurant. Couldn’t wait to have a paella after very long time. Obviously I grabbed the Sangria as well. What disappointment when they served it in very small coffee take away cup and my experience from Spain are that you getting nice big glass of Sangria. In these days obviously I don’t mind t/a cup, but at least could be in clear smoothy cup and slightly bigger size. Also when I get to eat the paella it was cold,even tasted nice I definitely expect hot dish!! Hope once they re open this will improve 👌

When I visited Maynooth on Tuesday I had lunch at this restaurant and I must admit that I was really impressed. I found the staff to be especially good. However, the price of their wine offerings was high.

Excellent quality mexican/spanish/general latin fusion food. Romantic, candlelit atmosphere perfect for date night. This is by far my favourite resteraunt in Maynooth. My favourite dish is the paella, which is dished at your table and is soooo tasty. There are endless dishes to taste here and an diverse Latin wine list. 3 tapas is enough to fill anyone for dinner. Highly recommend! Reservations for evenings Thursday onwards recommended.

We’ve been here a few times (family of 4 with two young kids (2&4)). A family friendly restaurant with great staff. Today was another example of the team there doing everything right. It was our sons birthday. The waiting staff were extremely friendly and really made him feel special. Food was fantastic. Paella was top notch and the burrito was definitely the best locally. The menu is varied and I would think it should cater to most tastes. Keep up the good work guys. Booking is advised for weekends and evenings!

Booking was for a party of 16 so I have to be a little bit sympathetic to that. However, our table was 20 minutes late being prepared which was a bit of a nuisance given the size of the party. The service was okay, the waitress who dropped down the menus didn't open her mouth once. The manager was very thorough, however. The food was excellent, I cannot fault that, everyone really enjoyed their meal, good dining experience overall, would return alone or in a smaller party to get the full dining experience.

We had a lovely night here last night. Fabulous ambience set by atmospheric lighting and live Spanish guitar in the background. Staff were outstanding, very friendly and attentive and very well polished. Food was also fabulous, every course was great. Recommend the tomahawk steak, cooked to perfection and melt in the mouth. If I were to offer some friendly advice, really need to replace the tiny two seater tables. Really looking forward to our next visit.

What a pleasant surprise! Went in on a busy night without reservation, got table within 20 minutes. Service fast but not too fast. Every single dish was great! Tasted fresh and well made. I could see they take pride in their food. We got many small plates for a family of 4, what a nice way to eat! Kids pizza/flat bread was very nice too. Chorizo in honey and sherry vinegar glaze was phenomenal! I don't like spicy, but nothing I tasted offended my pallet at all. Perfectly balaced! Very warm atmosphere, life guitar, very pleasant. It was my daughter's birthday and she got her song and candle and a big sombrero they give to wear to a birthday person to celebrate 😃 We'll definitely come back! Thumbs up to the team!👍

Overall quite a good experience. The food was lovely and the staff were attentive and professional. My only problem was that we were given assurances prior to making reservations that we could have dishes made without the addition of a specific allergen, and it turned out that was not a possibility for almost the entire menu. Which meant that one member of our party was left with an extremely limited selection. However, that issue aside, everything else was great.

Very busy even on a Wednesday evening so you really need to book ahead. Can be noisy with large groups but once the music kicks off you dont notice as much.

Had a great evening here with my cousin's family (five of us in total). We went for the early bird menu and everybody was very happy with their choices. Service was great with a bit of banter. I was originally told that we had the table for two hours, which was fine but, at no time did we feel pressurised to move on as our time approached. A wonderful restaurant in the heart of Maynooth. A very full menu with excellent choice for tapas and also a good early bird menu. Prices are reasonable for the high quality food and they have lovely Gin cocktails for an added bonus. This restaurant is always busy so booking is essential even for the early bird. It's quite dark in the restaurant with nice candles adorning each table. The only drawback is that as it's always full it can feel very busy and somewhat compact as the tables are too close together. We found the staff very helpful during our meal and overall had an enjoyable experience. Would recommend you try it out and we will definitely be back.

We're sitting here sucking the Jack Daniels BBQ sauce off the wings having scoffed the patatas bravas and honey roasted chorizo.... The churros, with the addition of a candle, and a cuppa tea will round out her bday dinner... Gorgeous, scrumptious, delicious....

Nice atmosphere with good selection of tapas, well presented and highest quality. Just a little on the expensive side. If you are not used to tapas it can be difficult to know what to order, don't be afraid to ask, staff are very helpful and accommodating.

Really nice argentine/Spanish restaurant. Great addition having a Spanish guitarist playing live and at the right volume. They have a few menus including a tapas menu and a vast wine and coffee selection. I gave visited a few times and enjoyed each visit. However.. My last visit led me to leave when I wanted to order deserts and coffee. We were blatantly ignored and waited about 10-15min trying to catch a waitresses attention. In the end I gave up and I went up paid and left. I'm sure the owner would appreciate letting money walk out the door. .. It wouldn't put me off going again as it's such a nice atmosphere and great food choice.

Very disappointed in the Brazilian steak tapas tho, at 10.50 for 3 tiny pieces of steak, might as well be potatoes bravas rather than a meat tapa, however, this would be my only complaint.

A restaurant on the main street with no dedicated parking. It may be difficult to get parking in the town so it's best to park in the large Tesco carpark and walk. Anytime I have been here it has been very busy and it was no exception on a Friday evening before Christmas. The restaurant is a large room and the tables are quiet close to each other. When it's busy the noise can be defining. The young staff are friendly. The menu was from the Christmas early bird. Starter was a combination of tapas between 2, spicy wings, deep fried brie, meatballs, potato aioli, spicy meatballs and a garnish of olives with almonds. All very tasty. For the main course I had steak medium rare. It came with a small bucket of thin cut chips, a small garnish of spinach leaves with a nice sauce and pepper sauce in a cup. The steak was medium rare and tender. The chip were just ok. I would change them to mash next time. The desert was a platter of mini desserts shared between 2 including sliced of pudding. All very tasty. Drinks were a shared martini jug and bottled water. Overall the food was tasty. Due to the time of year with Christmas parties the restaurant was very busy but also loud and noisy so not a great time for a quite romantic dinner with the other half.

I love this place. Mexican food at its best. Got the chimichanga before and it was excellent. The last time i was there i got the chicken burrito, it was immense, id love to go every week but its an hour drive for me. Great options on the menu, the live music is fantastic too.

It's a good alternative in Maynooth, that's why rating 4. I found the tapas just standard. Average quality, small sizes and town prices. I agree with the comment that staff wasn't very attentive, probably because it was packed. The white wine was served warm with no ice in the wine cooler... Live music was good but when it was finished, no music was put on the background which kind of kills the vibe.

This place is ok. It's not authentic at all, but the food isn't bad and it's not very expensive. It's cozy and romantic inside, so it would be a good place for a date.

One of the top three restaurants in Maynooth, and many would say the best. On saturdays there is a spanish guitarist playing quietly in the middle of the bar. You MUST book in advance for friday and saturday night. If your having tapas try the honey chorizo, i sometimes order 2 portions. The house wine, a temprenillo, is from the barrell too.

Service was a let down, food was average at best. We were seated by a waitress working there who didn’t bother to give us menus after pointing to a table for us to sit at, instead went outside and started chatting to one of the other waitresses, petting a customers dog and then brought food to a table without washing her hands. Waited about 10 minutes trying to get someone’s attention for some menus before a waiter (who may have been the manager) realised. Food was ok, wouldn’t return in a hurry. For four tapas (not mains) and two soft drinks, the bill was just shy of €50 which is a bit steep for lunch.
