M. L.Fish really good but very disappointed that only option with the lovely fish is chips and garnish of basic salad. Seems to be the standard in all the restaurants we visited around the area. We visited twice over the week first for lunch and then dinner. Both times we were unimpressed with service. During second visit we had booked what we thought was in the restaurant area. We arrived slightly early.. The lady said the table wasn't ready yet so we asked if we could sit in the bar whilst waiting... And wait we did... For about 40mins.. When I asked the manager when we would get the table inside he was really quite rude asking who told us we'd be in the restaurant and that it was all the same. You are either indoors or outdoors... At this point kids were hungry so no point arguing the point. Would not return.

m. h.Very poor menu, we were booked in to the restaurant but was put into the bar, very rude owner when asked about it. He said what can I do about it. As this was booked 3 weeks prior as a special occasion, it was disappointing. The food was lovely, very nice girl served us.

D.Lovely food and quick service. Plenty of parking at the front and back. The restaurant is modern with a lovely stove for a cold day. The room is slightly small and cramped so not suitable for large groups. The reason for a 4 star is the €21 price tag for fish. The quality is very good but that price is a put off. The kids meal was very good and my daughter loved the sausages.
S. B.Lovely surroundings. My sister had the most enormous and delicious mussels. The kids combo basket a godsend as my 3 year old had just announced she didnt like fish anymore. Of course she did and she devoured it but with a bit of chicken and sausage insurance.
My fillet steak was delicious though in all honesty it could have done with a slightly larger portion of sauce and half the amount of onions and mushrooms.
A hidden gem well worth a visit
I. K.Most unfriendly welcome we have ever received by staff in a restaurant, the young man who was the probably the manager and perhaps even the owner had an request rude attitude in the way he spoke to me.
The delicious starter with jumbo prawns made up a bit for it, but then the main course was the next disappointment. I had ordered my steak medium cooked and got served a steak well done. It was changed on request and then I got my medium cooked steak pretty soon and it was lovely and so were the chips and sauce and mushrooms and onions served with it. However, a restaurant like this serving tasteless frozen vegetables (cauliflower and garden peas) is a sad failure of restaurant. The veg would have been acceptable in a cheap shool centre restaurant, but certainly not here.
Best part of our visit here was the very lovely and professional waitress lady from Poland. Her friendly charme made up for a lot and she is certainly an asset to this establishment.

C. H.We went on a recommendation from the host at the Glendine Country House, who even gave us a ride to the restaurant when we were ready for dinner. After basically doing a tour of all the pubs in Ireland, it was a nice change of pace. The seafood was expertly handled and the wine list impressive. There were more specials than regular items, so we knew the food was fresh. I had monk fish, and it was the most delicious, mouth-watering, succulent fish I've ever had. I literally think about that monk fish at least once a month. After dinner, the owner/chef was gracious enough to drive us back to the Country House. The next time we are in Ireland, we will be sure to come back.

J. B.Dropped in here for a family meal while staying locally. Busy restaurant but lucky enough to get an empty table straight away. There was 4 in our group and all had a starter and main course.
Surprisingly there was no Seafood Chowder (my favorite) on the starters but still plenty of choice and we still had lots to choose from. For the mains 3 of us had the salmon and it was a good choice. Served with New Season Wexford Queens and vegetables it was perfect. Portions were generous and everyone was delighted with the food.
Staff and service was fantastic and the restaurant was very clean and comfortable with the tables having space around then and not packed in like some restaurants. Will definitely recommend The Hollow and will visit again if in the area.

As we were waiting for the rest of the party to arrive , decided to have a drink in their very cute beer garden. The weather was perfect for it.
The food was good. Monkfish was nicely cooked, just maybe a little bit of salt at the end of cooking would maked it perfect. ( This is only my personal opinion). Some of my family members had mussels and I was impressed with the size of the dish. Everyone loved it. Even my daughter tried few ( and she doesn't like unusual food).
The staff were nice and helpful.
I would believe it's a seasonal place and would be back next time.

M. K.My family and I spent a week in wexford. Dined out every night. Came back here 4 times. I loved their food. For me, it was heaven on a plate. I had their prawns, cooked to perfection, hake, chicken, all of it, delicious. In particular, I was obsessed with their brownie. I like to think I'm a consiuer of brownies, I try them every where I go. Never tasted anything like their one. It was to die for and I guess I'm happy I live 4 hours away, or I would be twice my size. But everything was delicious, the staff were all lovely. Hope I get to visit again next year.

Visiting here from America we showed up with eight people, last minute and added two more people later and despite the fact that the inside seating area is limited they still accommodated us with no problems. The Service was right on top of all of our needs and the food tasted great! Really friendly and fun atmosphere. It was too cold to sit outside in the Beer Garden but I would love to try that on a nice warm day. I live in New York and I would put this restaurant up against any one in the city.

G.this hidden little gem is amazing. it's always busy so best book ahead they do try and accommodate if you haven't reserved a table so be patient it will definitely be worth the wait. the staff are great craic if you engage with them and are totally up for the banter which will entertain you during your meal and make the whole experience mleven more enjoyable. bare with them from what i counted on a booked out Saturday night there was only 6 staff covering the restaurant, bar and garden which was all booked out and hoping, the food and the craic totally makes up for everything else. the food will amaze you it's so good and the portions are bloody massive so keep that in mind. went here twice in the space of a wk and my parents were brought big groups about 3timesin the space of 3 wks they were so impressed which is a big thing for Dublin foodies.
