Came across this lovely restaurant. We seat down and order food.Staff was very friendly and helpful 🙂. Food served very quick by chef 😀and dropped to our table. 🍖meat was tender and delicious 😋 .price was very reasonabl. Definitely we will back again. Highly recommend 👌👏...Regards George

Lovely outdoor terrace where we enjoyed an amazing breakfast with great coffee. Staff were very friendly and efficient. We also bought some scones to take away which were really nice.

This cafe is handy as it is in the Shopping centre and seems to offer a decent range of food. Suitable for a coffee and light lunch type of place.

Food was good but staff so unfriendly with terrible attitude. Definitely won't go there again. Following a personal phone call from the manageress with a full apology, my family and I will definitely go back to Rafters. We always enjoyed the food there. Back in today and staff so friendly and Conor took great care of us. Food delicious as always. Definitely back to 5 stars.

My partner and i had breakfast on the balcony yesterday.Place was spotless and the food good but what really makes the place excellent was the two waitresses who were both first class. Friendly efficient and just went out of their way to be nice.A credit to you both .We will return.

I have been in port Laois for the last 2 weeks on a work visit and has visited this cafe numerous time. Each time service has been the best and the staff is amazing too. Keep up the good work guys.

Today may have been an off day as I'm sure there would no other reason to wait 20min to be told that there was no soup, which we had ordered. Waiting 10 minutes for a plastic container of tepid water, no ice. I have eaten here on occasion, and in fairness, all the food that I have had here has been pretty good. In other times it was very buí, people queueing etc, today there were 6 staff that I counted, and no more than 16 diners, I fail to see that "new guidance" was an issue. We left without dining having been left clueless as to the status of our order for some time, then being told.... 'I don't know' when we asked.. I would recommend rafters any time, but perhaps a little more training in customer service is required for staff. How do I know? "I've worked in catering industry for 30years. ' I hope it has improved when I return.

I have always had a pleasant dining experience here. Nice, relaxing atmosphere. Very well run, even when it's at its busiest there's no long waits. Staff are great. The place is always kept spotless & you can see everything being prepped in front of you. Poached eggs on the breakfast menu are by far my favourite & the price is right too...

Hi, my partner and i were hungry and couldn't find anything healthy to eat, it was 5.50pm the 26th of August when we wondered into to Rafters in Portlaoise and the nice lady behind the counter made us up a delicious salad and veggie Quiche without a problem, she was so friendly and accommodating, and it was very appreciated Sandra

Tidy plus clean with plenty of seating in this cafe...I had 3xsausages with mash,mushrooms,gravey.very small pot of tea and a fizzy can of drink came to 11.64 euro.. Knocking off couple of stars because the mash wasn't mashed 100% small lumps in the mash..no toilets on premises you will have to use the tesco toilets. Also went to hand my finished plate to lady that worked there but she refused to take it so that was a bit weird as she was working on the floor at the time...didn't leave a tip as the staff seem a bit detached from the customers..wont be a repeat customer..😥😥😥

Been here first time, got hungry while shopping. Had salad only but didn't expect high street price for it. And they should definitely improve their ventilation. Was very smoky inside from cooking. Not very pleasant to sit there.

Last 3 times I've been to cafe I have not been treated very well by a particular male who works there, he was very rude to me on each occasion and just last Saturday I walked out without ordering anything .I have been going in to rafters cafe for years when I visit portlaoise and I always found the staff very nice n friendly also the food lovely until now this man has no manner when dealing with the public.

Lovely bright and spacious restaurant, with a gorgeous outside seating are in the sun, but parasols are provided if you enjoy the shade. Very friendly and efficient service and excellent food. Definitely recommend.

The system for ordering and paying in here is just mad! Makes no sense and in my opinion just slows things down! So confusing even having being there a few times. Food is good although quite expensive (1 example €8 for a panini)

This is a good place to eat with loads of variety and some of the staff are very friendly but I was disappointed that we asked for milkshakes and coolers and was not able to get them. If you advertise a product should you at least try to make it available, I understand at times products run out and equipment gets damage but management should be aware of this and not advertise what you don't have!
